  1. Denwatls proudly presents: 11eyes. Gray. A gray world, a gray life, a gray happiness. Indeed, to Kakeru, it was as if the world had turned a dull, impenetrable gray, ever since that day. He had friends Tadashi and Kaori, he had his childhood friend, Yuka, he had everything that 'ought' be there. And yet, he could never escape it, never overcome, never get away from... But the workings of fate are not so simple. The stain of darkness never so easily cleansed. And indeed, it is those same, immutable cogs that will draw Kakeru away from the simple, ‘peaceful’ life he knew... Link to the page. To run, simply place the patch2.xp3 into the game folder, and start the game! As always, remember to have your locale in Japaneses and use only English and Japanese characters in the path to the exe. Be sure to install the 1.01 patch from Lass before running. Also, if on windows 10, be sure to have Japanese fonts installed (windows 10 doesn't install them by default). Enjoy!

  5. What an awful article. Language is always evolving, and English throughout the world is being used in all kinds of different ways, giving us all sorts of English variants. That much should be obvious to anyone who's stepped outside their houses. But saying natives have to conform to this? What the hell does that even mean? That they have to learn every single variant or something? That they have to somehow accept these differences as valid in their own variant? That makes no sense. More importantly, a language variant still has to abide by rules. You can't simply misuse English and call that a new English variant, there needs to be consistency. Grammatical and vocabulary mistakes foreigners make will keep being mistakes until they're widely used enough to be considered part of a different variant, and when they do they need to stop being called American/British English. I'll give you another example. In Portugal we have long accepted the existence and independence of other Portuguese variants in countries like Brazil. But the existence of those doesn't mean we suddenly have to conform the way we speak with the way they speak. That's why now in most media and websites you see European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese as 2 languages, even though they're mutually intelligible languages. It does not make sense to say American English or British English must conform to something like German English. First off, German English needs to be accepted as a proper variant of English (I'm not sure of it's current status so I can't say much). Then, once it is, it can easily live separately from the origiating countries. There's nothing wrong with that. But if what you call German English isn't a variant and is really just a name you gave to the way Germans misuse the English language, then it makes no sense to say English natives should conform to it. It is important to note I'm not saying English can't have other variants. It absolutely can. And those should be recognized as such. But you can't say everything should be part of one big blob called "English". I think the problem with this article is really just the way the author worded themselves.

  8. To those curious, I took some screenshots of the prologue. http://imgur.com/a/Uy2DT Overall, the prologue was rather well written if not a bit overwrought, good work! This is actually of really good quality overall for a fan translation... even if I already spotted a couple typos, haha. That seems to be a sort of progress tracker. Scenes you complete will show up there as you complete them.

  9. @ShinRaikdou You won't have to worry about the sorts of drama standard to moege; 11eyes is a balance between chuuni and slice-of-life. There are a fair amount of bad-endings, but it's not in the same format as a good/true ending. I don't want to give too much away, of course~. Fate is somewhat similar to it, 11eyes not being as invested in the meta-analysis and lore of the universe. It's definitely not a pure love-story.

Play through a variety of diverse character routes, including the one with the big tits, the one with the big tits, and the one with the bigger tits! 11. If you don't mind it being a non-action charage type, Otome ga Tsumugu Koi no Canvas has a fully-voiced trap protagonist. Also, the second Otoboku (Futari no Elder) has a fully-voiced protagonist. Last of all, Tenshi no Hane o Fumanaide also has full-voice for its trap protagonist. It is also fantasy action.

  14. According to VNDB, a group called VN Society. Speaking about the past, there's also a fact that the translator was decided to stalled to this project because of his real life matter according to this post. After that the group attempt to finish the translation and get another translator, which obviously stalled looking back at this release. Quite interesting story if I might said. @Infernoplex It's not Extra Menu if you though CrossVision like that (There'll be separated menus for that). It's another system which showed multiple perspective from same scene occasionally, and more importantly it was scene viewer like back at Grisaia or Himawari. Although you may already knew about this, I'll just write it here just in case some other users here were curious.

  15. I guess I should've been more specific, as reading back on it, you probably thought of watching a live-stream or something. I was picturing Hikari reading a non-translated VN to me live through Skype or whatever. It'd be more personal and intimate rather than watching a pre-recorded video, which is why I'm sure it would be hilarious.

  16. If you go in your profile, near the top with some other basic info you have, there's one called "Days Won" - apparently if you have a day where you get the most likes on your posts you get a days won. Somehow I've gotten 3. If you don't have any I'm not certain if it shows it at all, though.

  19. That's the thing though. Language variants exist, but something that has no cohesiveness can not be considered one. For example, if everyone in China speaks a different kind of English, what do you call Chinese English? The reason this article ticks me off a little is because it seems to imply every way of using English is totally cool and should be accepted as being part of the current English standards. I'll clarify my position on this though: Yes, English is a global language and there are more variants appearing Yes, those variants need to be recognized as such No, that does not mean American or British English (the 2 big English variants) should adopt these variants' rules into their own or that their native speakers have to relearn English No, not every way of using English can be a variant, some things are just mistakes (it's only when these mistakes are widespread that they can become a standard) . English grew so rapidly that its originaring countries didn't properly adapt or consider the appearance of new variants, so a lot of these variants are still in the dark and deemed as broken English. I think the issue here is often the lack of studies around these different variants (which are often just seen as not proper English). If there were more we could maybe clear some of these issues up. We can all live in the world with different Englishes, that doesn't mean Americans or British people need to suddenly relearn their English though. I'd love to one day see grammar guides of Chinese English btw

  20. That's why it's called 'the rise of Globish'. Globish being a simplified form of English international people use to communicate with others from a different background. That is, the simplified version of English (Globish) is being used as a universal language for people to communicate in. The above quote came from a few different articles on Globish I mashed together. Sanah's article is both right and wrong. The control of the English speaking world to control the direction of English's evolution is being slowly stripped from them, and people started to notice it over a decade ago. You'd THINK so, but unfortunately no. Globish ignores much of the grammar and structure that defines English for what it is.

  22. Yep, definitely agree that it was the most poorly written ending in the entire VN. It almost seems like they put all the effort into writing her good end, and just plopped out her bad end just so she'd have one

  23. Wow, that is a really bad, clickbait-y title. English is English, if you speak a modified version of it, then it's not really pure English anymore, now is it? The BBC has gotten pretty clickbaity with less serious news articles as of late. Quite frankly, it disgusts me. I hate the effect that sites like BuzzFeed and co. have had on journalism as a whole.

  27. That is needlessly reductive. Architecture is considered an applied art, as is fashion and interior design. I'm glad you brought up the concept of consensus and experience. The audience is the other half of the work. There are many people, myself included, who believe that a piece of art is a collaborative effort between the artist and the viewer. An author may write a book, but it's not complete until it's actually read and interpreted. Once you get your hands on, say, a copy of the Bible, it becomes more than just a bunch of ink on paper because of the experiences and unique perception of the world that you carry with you. The fact that many people can read it, analyze it, discuss it, and continue to find new things to discuss and interpret it is the reason why the book has lasted so long (well, one of the reasons). Ditto for Shakespeare and Neon Genesis. It's really best to get rid of the idea of "the message" in art because as tempting as it might be to believe there's some kind of puzzle or meaning that you just need to uncover, it diminishes your ability to create the other half of the art.

  29. 1. if there's commentary and/or analysis, I'm ok with it. But if it's just a silent LP - I dislike it - it's really no different then if you are seeding a torrent, except you host it on YT rather than elsewhere. 2. I doubt it would have any positive or negative impact tbh. It's not the sort of LPs a random person will just stumble across - it's something you'd have to actively search for, so its really only appealing to the core base - those that plan to buy will buy anyway, and those that will pirate will pirate~ Having said all that, I do like some of the LPs that have "active" discussions/reactions, like one FSN Lp I dug up a little while back - hearing his imput while going through it was interesting in it's own way.

  30. While this is definitely not Sakura no Uta or Flyable Heart, this is definitely big release there. So, let me said congratulations for the release there. And this is definitely one of the projects that many people wish to be translated. @ShinRaikdou I think it's some kind of Fate alike VN which mean while there's no drama tag, it definitely had some action if we looking at VNDB (I'm sure there's drama in 11eyes). Oh, and it got high amount of bad ending tag according to VNDB. So, my suggestion would be avoid this if you just want raburabu without bad endings.

  31. What game is that? Charage? For this description and setting, a lack of drama tag is kind of strange... If i hate drama/bad endings(as good or true), and what i need is only a raburabu - Should i give it a try? Anyway great job!

  34. Tried out the demo, and I shall leave my impressions here: General: Plot Impressions (may contain spoilers up till the end of the demo): Less than an hour long if you're not me, I think. Doesn't really let us get a grip on anyone's personality. Maybe Kagura's. A bit. It does introduce the setting properly, I guess. I'm definitely planning on reading this BUT, I fully intend to find out if this'll be a long (at least 10 hours) or short title. And if it's divided into routes then I'd need at least 15. My reading speed, of course, which does not seem to be all that fast.

  35. 1. To the extent people use Let's Plays to avoid paying for the game, I dislike them. To the extend they promote the game and bring in awareness from people who never heard of it before, I like them. I can't imagine anything more boring than watching someone else play a game I could be playing myself, so Let's Plays have zero interest for me personally. 2. This is kind of a broken record from my answer to #1, but to the extent people use Let's Plays to steal the content, they're bad. To the extend they increase buzz and bring in new customers, they're good.

  38. I mean, a visual novel is like a book. I don't really care about watching other people read books; I'd like to read them myself. So I don't see the point of it at all. But, if people do like them, I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to, just like any other let's play really.
