2 months and 9 days. That was rather fast, wasn't it. I mean, after over 5 months of getting to 500, my activity on this site really surprised me when I started to make this post. Anyways, thoughts on these past 2 months? Honestly, fast. It all went in a flash, and I had oh so much fun. I started a new thingy on my blog about mangas and it's thoroughly slowly dying there. Good shit. Other than that, I'm finally getting close and soon can read VNs freely in a bit. I also met a few nice new people, which I'll put in a spoiler because who really has time hear about me rambling on and on, which I do enough already. I'm also quite pleased on how the chat has been doing since I last talked about it. I also got my dirst Fuwa troll so that was fun. Nothing else much to say from these past two months, I've just been doing what I usually do. Now onto the nominations. Now that that obligatory segment is over, let's start up the part two: AMA. Hey all, it's time for another convention! Anime Central is starting just tomorrow, the 20th of May. It's the biggest convention until July's Anime Expo, and most of the major players of the VN world will be there! Except for JAST, I can't actually find them or J-List on the exhibitor's list on acen's website. All times below are CDT, or UTC -0500, I believe. I will attempt to keep this OP up to date with all the latest developments. VisualArts/Key VisualArts is one of ACEN's "premium partners" so they get a nice posh booth that you'll want to visit if you're a Key fan (Booth 11). They will also have a panel, too. It will be held at 4PM on the 20th. "Join CEO Takahiro Baba, Artist Na-Ga, and Composer Shinji Orito for this multimedia industry panel all about your favorite games and shows from VisualArts!" Announcements: VisualArts announced that the Clannad side-stories will release in just a few weeks, and that they have plans for an Angel Beats localization. Sekai Project Sekai Project will of course be present as well. They'll have a premium booth at Booth #61. Their panel will be at 5:30PM on the 20th. Sekai Project has teased two new announcements from two new partners. It's always hard to predict exactly what Sekai Project will announce, especially since they have a fondness for partnering with pretty obscure doujin and OELVN developers. They've announced some pretty big stuff recently, though, so who knows? Sekai Project were previously planning a livestream but it unfortunately had to be canceled due to a lack of manpower. Announcements: Sekai Project announced a couple new doujin titles, the sci-fi doujin VN 2236 A.D. and a side-scrolling platformer MAGICALxSPIRAL. The previously announced yuri VN Ne no Kami will have an IndieGoGo launch on May 25th. MangaGamer MangaGamer may have the dinkiest booth (Booth #410), but they'll have the biggest panel, at 9PM on the 20th. MG has teased six new announcements for this show, one of them from a new partner. You can see their site for it here. Things to expect from MangaGamer: A new hardcopy announcement, perhaps euphoria. An "official" announcement for The House in Fata Morgana's fandisc, which has already been announced within the first game, MG seems to be waiting to give it a proper announcement. For the remaining four announcement, I'm guessing one of them will be a BL or Otome title, basically whatever Good Haro is translating next. We might also hear about the next Alice Soft title they're licensing at this point. Many people are expecting their new partner to be Chuablesoft, which is indeed possible considering their CEO took to twitter last year to engage english fans and talk about localization possibilities. That could just as easily be one of SP's announcements, however, or maybe they haven't yet made a commitment to the western market. They're also overdue for announcing their future SonoHana plans. There's a lot of possibilities with MG's announcements, it'll be interesting to see how they play out. @Yotek says that he'll be at the event and will attempt to record the panels for those interested. So what are you all expecting?

When I have something more than just the weekly update to share about the project, I'll make a blog post about it on my own blog, (so I don't spam the dev feed.) Hello everyone! Today I have great news, and some kind of meh news. First the good news! Porygon has finalized the patch making tools, so we can now get all sorts of stuff worked out. (Previously we had issues with the text not displaying right, some symbols dissapearing etc. That's all gone now.) On the translation side of things, I had some days off this week and got some decent work done. The progress has moved quite a lot since the last update. (Progress update and more is below.) Now for some meh news. I have a really important exam in one week, (like, if I don't study like crazy, I am so failing it,) and so I am kind of studying myself to death here. Because of that, next week I wont have a lot of time to translate. I will still make updates like usual, but expect like, a miniscule amount of progress the next week or two, as I try my hardest not to fail and screw up my life Also, @Meat_Bun1 is back on the project as an editor, and he will be fixing all the silly mistakes left in by me. Ah... I just finished Calamity, ending the saga of The Reckoners. Such great books, I can already feel the existential void in me. I'm also reading (although quite leisurely due to its format and nature) the Necronomicon, since I found a really neat edition with his most emblematic works in my usual bookstore.

Fate was translated horribly, it also rhymes with ‘hate’ which is obviously a sign. Ever 17 is boring and it’ll feel like it’ll drag on ‘forever’. Muv Luv is getting a new translation, so may as well wait. You included the words ‘Neko Para’ in the second option, which is code for ‘the Devil’ so that’s obviously out. Alas, it’s option number 5 by default.

Finally completed my pilgrimage and finished Tokyo Babel Lilith's route was great. Samael and Cerberus made for great companions, they seriously blew every other side-character out the window. And let's not forget Mini-Lilith I also liked the implications regarding replicas and individuality. Anybody who's played the sci-fi horror game SOMA knows how fun it can be to ponder about that Best of all though, I finally got my heavily, heavily desired BUT, I feel the story could've, and should've, wrapped up around here, given how climaxy and powerful this moment was. But nope! Turns out you're only 50% of the way through, GLHF with 40% more filler battles before you can finally do final boss round 2 (which then only lasts like 5 seconds). TL;DR the second half for me suffered from ughhh pacing from the oversaturation of battle scenes. That difference between the Setsuna End and Lilith True End, though. Simply laughable. Like C'MON MAN, WHAT HAPPENED, YOUR POWER OF LOVE AIN'T STRONG ENOUGH SO YOU DROP HER, SETSUNA?!!! WTF!@#$ True End epilogue is one of the best epilogues I've ever read. And it was only 2 lines

If you were smart about your life you'd remember you could still eat those books instead of rummaging through rubbish. Alternatively, you could find a hefty book and throw it at someone's head, then steal all their food.

Information about the book: Kitsune and me is a yuri light novel like story I have been working on since December of 2015. It started as a silly and goofy idea that was supposed to last for 30-40 pages. But, after completely falling in love with the characters and their universe, I ended up continuing the story, and here we are, 46k words and 140 pages later. The story offer elements of romance (yuri), fantasy, action and comedy. The core story is about the human girl, Sakura, and her guardian fox spirit, Kitsune, and their life together. Kitsune and me Vol.2 is going to be the second and last book in the series, and will offer another 12 chapters, as well as an epilogue. The story will follow after the events of the first one. Wow, modern people not completely bashing and demonizing arranged marriage, and even implying that it might just work at times...?! Oh, how times have changed. I can remember all the endless arguments I've had with people regarding this subject. It makes me happy to see that not everyone is willing to dismiss arranged marriage as a barbaric, out of date method that never has and never will work. Needless to say, I'm a strong believer in arranged marriages. Not only do I think they work, I dare say they're just outright better and healthier for a long term relationship than the standard date>girlfriend>marry-after-a-few-years formula we have going on right now. Most people just don't know how normal arranged marriages work. Just like the guy's father in the article, who dismissed the first two girls he met and settled for the third, you're not "forced" to accept who you're arranged with. If things really don't work out, then you can always divorce. Another thing the article mentions is patience, which imo is really undervalued these days in relationships. Especially in the later stages, it's even more important than love, since at that point you've been long enough to start questioning if you actually like your partner (unless you're exceptionally blind). It's the real test, to prove that you're willing to put up with your partner after all the spicy time is done. But enough from me, after all this is all based on my own personal observations- like many of you I don't have much real experience with romantic relationships. All I can do is hope that, when the time comes, I'll find a nice partner I'm willing to put up with

Sekai Project have fans?

Confession: Dear lord, I had completely forgotten how much I liked the older Call of Duty games, especially Call of Duty 2. Really makes me feel like a soldier in a squad, as opposed to Call of Duty 1 who took the approach of having us go solo for a good amount of missions. More surprising even is that, graphically, it looks better than some of the stuff I play nowadays. All those soldier models are so shiny~

I'd say that Ever17's art is a bit on the crude side, actually. Unmodified, original Umineko is obviously extremely crude. I rather liked the PS3 art, though. Muv Luv's art is mostly okay, except that character design is something else. It is clearly inspired by a certain early era of harem comedy, and the hair is especially silly. Mostly in a bad way. If you do play Umineko, get the most enhanced version possible, that full PS3-to-PC port that russian team is working on. Unfortunately, I think only the first 3 episodes are available for that.

None of the vn's you listed are really worth reading vs time investment required to finish them; There are better games out there. If you really want to read older vn's that badly, you should pick something like ToHeart, Yu-no, Sayooshi or perhaps Kakyuusei, if you like gameplay/simulation elements mixed in. Depends on your interests. In worst case, I'd say read Ever17.

Finally started reading Hoshizora no Memoria today, somehow it's actually meeting my expectations so far (they were pretty high). Really loving the music and backgrounds which create a great atmosphere, and it seems to have some of the most beautiful sprites ever... If only they weren't so pixelated at 800x600 :( I'm also enjoying the story a lot, I'm a sucker for the whole idea of returning to your childhood town and reuniting with your childhood friends. Now if only there would be less boring comedy scenes with Chinami.. I mean, I don't think they could have made her ANY more annoying.

Well, since you seem to be dodging my question, I won't pursue the matter any further. Though with all due respect, I don't think it's a very sensible marketing argument to say that you can provide a better collaboration environment than others while not actually knowing how your competitors are proceeding. Hope you will succeed in finding people interested, and hopefully you can become a big publisher in the EVN world as well!

Nothing will compare to my High school Chinese classes in terms of difficulty. How intense was it? Within the first month she made each student sign a contract telling us that she would no longer use any English in the class, and that any English she heard us speaking would result in a 1 point deduction from our overall grade. Meaning after the first month, the class became 100% immersive. She explained all new grammar, vocab, etc in Chinese. She would tell us when assignments were due, quickly in Chinese. On top of that, a typical homework assignment was writing a page length of stuff in Chinese each day. This bitch was crazy. Hell, I think this class was probably harder than most College level Chinese classes. Needless to say, my Japanese classes are very reasonable compared to my one other language learning experience.
