Hello, Fuwanovel~ I would like to let you know that today I am stepping down from my admin position and leaving the Fuwanovel staff. I will explain why, but first I want to start on a positive note. So let me tell you about the beginning of my Fuwa journey~ In January 2012, I got into Visual Novels through my first VN Planetarian. I instantly fell in love with the media and while I was playing my second game, Little Busters, I was also following the very creation of Fuwanovel - that is on Aaerus VNAer blog. I saw all the struggle she was having with it, every day being socially pressured into changes of her plans (believe it or not, one day Aaeru even gave up and accepted only hosting the patches, not the pre-patched releases, just to fight over it and revert this change later to what Fuwanovel is today). But it was this fighting for freedom that made Aaeru glow with a radiant aura around her that I got to respect so much. Once Fuwanovel launched, I used it to download few VNs while only following Aaerus blog, but then later it didn't give me and I also joined the forums. From the very start I had crazy and radical opinions, but it was these opinions that later got me to be invited to join the staff. I explained in the invitation that I will not change anything about my behavior and I will still act the same way I always have, and apparently that was the exact reason they wanted me on. So I joined. And as I promised I didn't change a bit, I was defending the freedom of all Fuwanovel members, often times only getting support from a single person in the staff, Aaeru. And trust me, Fuwa staff section is a true battlefield, if I ever saw one. You don't even want to see the stuff that happens there xD So having support is priceless there. It's been exactly a year on this day since Aaeru posted the AstralAir topic which was originally titled "For Steve" (I renamed it later to turn it into a general AstralAir hype discussion). And this topic is actually my last memory of her (she was still posting after that but very rarely). It happened few weeks after one of the largest battles in the staff section regarding a member linking to a licensed JAST torrent on the forums, a battle where Aaeru and I managed to defend the members of the forum from the tyranny (joke) of other staff who even deleted the post because they misunderstood the Fuwanovel mission. At the end of that topic, Aaeru even admitted how tired she is of trying to defend the freedom over and over again - she's been running Fuwanovel for over a year at that time and that is not counting all the preparations and stuff before the site even launched. It is quite possible that this exhaustion was one of the reasons she left, combined with the stuff that happened earlier that year (DC3 c&d) and possibly other reasons. So from that point, I was alone, I no longer had support within the staff, I no longer had anyone there to encourage me in my arguments, anyone to assist me when I got tired of fighting for freedom. I no longer had anyone to call upon to assure me that I am fighting for something worth fighting for. And I endured for about the same amount of time, a year. However in that year, I was no longer able to win battles, the best I was able to do was delay the outcome at the cost of increasingly more and more effort to keep delaying. But sadly I can no longer go on, I am just too tired and need a break. You can probably even see it on my earlier post today (not gonna link), for which I would like to apologize, but I will keep it there just for the measures. The whole day today I was thinking about this resignation post and so I ended up overreacting there a bit. Moving on, I would like to apologize to everyone who was supporting me and depending on me in some of the latest incidents, where I in the end failed to defend the interests and freedom of Fuwanovel members. It makes my defeat that much more painful, seeing all the people who showed their support either with upvote, reply or a message in personal conversation. However, this is not the end! And I hope you will help me. It is no longer in the power of a single staff member to do this, we will need everyone to hop on board (of the pirate ship xD) and make their voice heard. Because it is you, members, who make Fuwanovel what it is. And if what we have to do is scream, then scream! If what we have to do is fight, then fight! And I know lot of you will have it hard as I know that most people supporting my stance are not native English speakers, but even if you have to use broken English or you don't know how to properly formulate your sentences, try it anyways! Because your voice is what matters. As you can see it doesn't matter what is written under your name, it can say new member, it can say veteran member, it can say moderator, it can say admin but every one of us still has only one voice, I might have had admin under name but my voice was no longer loud enough, it is weakened by my exhaustion. So I want your voice to be heard, let's get more people to scream and make it loud! And let me end on a positive note as well~ BGM: A Brand New World (nico since its not on YT) So... I am by no means leaving Fuwanovel, if you were hoping for that then sucks to be you I will actually try to dedicate all the time that I used to spend on all these hidden problems to things that matter the most - Mare and Shinku (and perhaps Yuuki if I end up loving her too ) So you can expect more lolis, more Mare and Temple activities, More Shinku and perhaps a construction of her Temple. Also I should have some more time to try to better manage the EH project Oh and I am not promising anything, but if I love AstralAir, there is a chance that I might help with something like H-scene translation if I feel like I can handle it - but nothing is for sure yet, its just what I'm thinking now. Also, I need to make sure Shinku is watching over Fuwanovel in my place, but I will also need your help for that - make sure you vote that Shinku logo for the next Fuwa logo xD (in before this whole resignation was a plan to get more people vote for that logo ) So yeah, if you thought that I overdo all the Shinku and Mare stuff now, prepare yourself for the future. Imagine me when I don't have to spend 20+ hours a week fighting over regulations and can fully commit to the lolis. I had a classmate go on a rant once about how every man that ever opened a door for a woman, regardless of the situation, was a chauvinistic, sexist pig that deserved to be castrated. The same girl said that she hated man haters because they made feminists look bad lol Didn't even see the irony. See, the Catch 22 is, if you do things like that for women, you're viewed as being sexist, but then if you let them do it for themselves all the time, people think you're a lazy, inconsiderate jerk. You can't really win in that regard. Not denying that polite actions, when in regard to women, are usually rooted in sexism and the belief that men are superior, but really, you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't. More people need to realize that being a feminist ≠ being a misandrist. The definition of feminism is "equality for both genders", not "women are more equal than men". That's from Animal Farm. I'll be happy when things like this stop being issues. They really don't matter as long as there's no ill will behind the action.

The 1st H-patch is ready - it restores and translates 2 scenes with Nanami. You can get it here. Just unzip the archive to the Lamune folder (after installing the main ENG patch). @Zoom I don't mind TL-ing the remaining H-scenes as well (with Cyrillej's help if possible). They are fairly short, so it won't be a huge problem even if I'm busy. So feel free to send me the scripts as soon as you bump into them. ^^

Fuwanovel Podcast Status Updates - A lot of new problems and suggestions have popped up in the past week, and as such I wanted to address everything that was brought up and try to answer all of the questions and concerns I noticed to the best of my ability. Listed below is a list of all the new items that in some way or another have been brought to my attention. If I didn't quote anyone specifically, I decided to put things into my own words to help everyone understand it a little better and how I viewed the feedback that was given to me. Hopefully this list will alleviate some of the questions and concerns everyone has been having. For everyone reading this post, please remember that while I may not always follow the advice that is given to me about the podcast and its direction, I am always listening to what is said to me via feedback and suggestions and that I take all of it to heart. I will always do my best to listen to the people, so please don't ever forget that. Anyways, I hope this helps: 1. "I really think you should focus on content rather than presentation and marketing--leave those to for-profits. A focus on content means picking topics that are compelling and trending, and finding guests that are knowledgable and have interesting viewpoints to share." I agree 100% with this concern, however what I want to address is that no matter how much I try to make the Fuwacast have a cool title or no matter how much I try to get some cool art designs for it, none of that will ever, ever make me produce poor quality episodes. The reason I made a suggestion thread for a poll in the 1st place was to give members of the community something to keep them interested in the podcast itself. Nobody wants to see the same format over, and over, and over again. For those members who may not find many topics that interest them, the revamped look of the podcast will give them the chance to be apart of something that is being hosted on this site. Don't want to speak? Topic isn't interesting? Help me make the podcast look cool! This is our baby, something we have made; I am simply the man directing the performance. Without actors/actresses, what good am I? In short, this project makes me happy, and I want to look at all sides of it and say to myself, "man, we did an awesome thing on the site." 2. "Each episode needs a prominently displayed title. I listened to the Special Episode (which I was interested in due to the post above), looked around afterward and all I saw were episode numbers. It's not the best way to keep listeners interested." Easy fix! I will go back and label the episodes with the appropriate topics tomorrow after work. As for the open ended random questions in podcast episodes 1-3, I am not really sure what I should label these as, considering they are a mesh of many questions, so if you have any suggestions, let me know via PM and I can put something up! 3. Talent is something you have to seek. The people you want the most aren't necessarily going to take the initiative to volunteer. People tend to respond better when you appeal to their ego than if you just cast the widest net possible. Finding the right people for each topic is going to require some familiarity with the community, use of social connections, and some good old fashioned persuasion. As I stated before in a previous address of the podcast, finding volunteers is a challenge, however after reading this comment a little more, I think I have found a solution. Everyone talks about Ren, all we ever hear about is Ren this, and Ren that. Ren makes the questions, Ren chooses the topics, and Ren leads the charge. Well, enough about me! Let's shift gears for once and start talking about you, the community. So many people do so much for Fuwanovel, and I think it would be awesome to represent them in a 1-on-1 podcast. No topics, no discussion, just questions about what each member does and why they enjoy doing what they do. To give some examples that come to my mind, Nosebleed posts his anime preview posts, Clephas posts his VN of the month, and SieghartXx makes some mean signatures for a huge portion of members here on the site. Let's get to know them! I understand that not everyone will want to be interviewed in a 1 hour podcast, but I think we can reduce that time if we want these interviews to be shorter. I think there are a lot of people (some who I know personally) that have a lot of stories to share and that everyone would love to get to know more about. 4. "Hey Ren, your recent episodes are taking a long time to get started. What's the deal?" My original intent was to release 2 podcast episodes every 2 weeks, meaning 2 a month. For July, we are all caught up on that total except for the the 4th episode of the podcast. I understand that this episode has had some issues with time, and I will be honest in saying that I have not emailed the group for that episode in awhile. I do apologize for this. I promise I have not forgotten the episode, I just haven't taken the time to sit down and finish it. With the current 3 episodes on the list, the end of August will see everything caught up, with a total 10 episodes for the podcast. As for the special episode which was recorded recently (located at the end of this post in case you missed it), as well as the 1-on-1 episode suggestion I posted in the previous concern, I don't think those should count against that release limit and should be a separate entity all together; whatever day works best for those being interviewed will be the best time to record and upload them, however I will never post more than 1 a week. I hope this helps make people understand how I am working the podcast. As for other time delays, sometimes personal life and other projects get in the way. Also, I lose motivation at times, so bear with me if there is a lull period between each episode due to that reason. 5. "I really don't understand the point of a podcast when text is so much more informative..." An interesting point, and I am glad you brought it up. Not everyone likes to speak, and some people feel they can address things better in text than they are able to in speech. For the next round of podcast episodes after the current 3, I have an idea that may seem like a stretch but I feel could be interesting to try. We have tried group volunteer recordings and I have suggested the new 1-on-1 member episodes. Now let's try a round table discussion. Instead of having only speakers in the actual podcast, let's have people who want to participate use text as well. See point #6 below for more details on this. 6. "It's just my opinion, but I think many of the current topics lack general appeal, especially ones that focus on a single visual novel. I think controversies would make better topics: issues such as the impact of piracy on the visual novel market, sexualization of children in VNs, censorship in VNs. Think about the threads that always rise to the top in the forums, and the issues people are passionate about. Let's do it. The people speak, and I will listen. I think these podcast episodes are a great way to involve the entire Fuwanovel community. For each topic, I can choose the most passionate people to be featured on the actual speaking portion of the episode, where (as suggested in point #5) other members are allowed to join an IRC while listening to a live stream of the cast. People can discuss the content in the IRC and host their own discussion, while we in the podcast host the same discussion side by side. I will pull comments, questions, and other material from the IRC while we discuss, essentially giving everyone a chance to talk about the actual episode. During the recording, I can capture both the IRC chat in 1080p, full size, while at the same time recording the audio. While the audio portion will be the only thing recorded for download, the YouTube videos which are currently being worked on will have the recordings of both the chat, as well as the speech. In short, we will be making a live forum thread via a podcast episode. As for the guests in the IRC, anyone will be welcome to come and join as they see fit. Stay for the whole thing, or leave early, it doesn't matter. If the discussion is big enough, we can add time and take a break between recordings, essentially splitting the episodes into parts. There is a lot of potential for this. 7. "I can't download any of the podcast episodes! Help me!" I am currently uploading all of the recorded episodes into my Google Drive which I will publicly share with the community at the end of next week. My internet is not the fastest, and since I like to do other things on my computer during the upload times, please bear with me while I get each one on the drive. In addition, maefdomn and The Major are working on the YouTube side of things. As soon as I start handing them the episodes, they will hopefully start working on that as well. For the time being, please wait patiently and I promise I will get them to you as fast as I can. And that's it. I took an image that recorded all the releases of the cards in the JP SIF and converted the dates to tentative EN releases. This only works for a general date (anywhere around middle of the month really) and if they keep the same release schedule. If they do though, the cards won't match up with the season. I posted that and just realized the text doesn't line up. I'll fix it in about an hour, about to be really busy on a game I play.

With Sekai licensing both VNs, I believe it is time for Fuwanovel to remove both torrents as they are now easily in violation of the original policy of not hosting any licensed VNs. TL Wiki has already made their Grisaia patch unavailable, and I honestly think it would be a shame if Fuwanovel did not also do the same. If Fuwanovel really cares about making VNs popular in the West and helping the industry, it would be right to remove the torrent. Both VNs are now in the hands of Sekai to work with and Fuwanovel's responsibility with those novels should end here.

Haven't tried an Expert song on the EN version in a while, busy getting 40 clears on Snow Halation and Baby Maybe Koi no Button since they are the only <15LP Hards I don't have A clears on. Congrats~! Now you just have to FC it Who says it's easy!? That song is definitely the one I get the most combo breaks on. My phone just lags in general which makes notes literally teleport and make me miss. Then I'll get battery low or alarm notifications that block my screen and don't lt me hit notes. Lastly, whenever I get an email my sound dims heavily (I have it set so I auto-subscribe to all threads I post in and get a notification whenever there's a reply, so many emails)

I thought this whole discussion was about sexualization of underaged characters. Wether it's an actual sexual act ot just showing a loli half naked, sexualization is sexualization. At the end of the day it's 2D and 2D should be free and have no restrictions ever even if the thought of it repulses you. There's tons of things in 2D that repulse me but I don't think they shouldn't exist for my own sake, because 2D is not 3D, that's all that should matter. If one wants to fantasize about having sex with a loli, let them, it's their fantasy not yours. If one wants to savagely cut a 2d character in half and fap to it, let them, it's their fantasy not yours. And the list could go on with more messed up stuff. All that matters is that this is fictional, fiction doesn't deserve to be censored.

I don't think that there is any problems with this section, true I do have one suggestion that could improve it, and that is to make a sub section inside VN Talk for VN recommendations.

I've held off on this debate til now, but I've been asked to weigh in so I'll do so. I think my conclusions will be a bit different than what some were expecting. I also address some misconceptions in this thread regarding the role of Steam and other content distribution platforms in increasing VN sales. VNs are not freeware Commercial VNs cost hundreds of thousands of US dollars to produce. Developers do this for a living, and they're not paid very much to do it. It's a labor of love. They need support to continue making more games for us to enjoy. This doesn't change whether a game is untranslated, fan translated, or localized. People that play VNs without paying are essentially parasites freeloading off the paying fanbase. In the end, if too many people freeload instead of supporting a company, the company goes out of business and no more VNs get made. The parasitic ecosystem collapses. To maintain a healthy ecosystem, people must support the games they love. When you buy a game, you're basically investing in the company's future. You're saying "Here's my money--make more games like this!" The role of fan translation More than 95% of Japanese VNs are untranslated. Fan translators provide a service by allowing us to enjoy titles in English we otherwise wouldn't have access to. Many fan translators choose high profile titles that are currently beyond the grasp of the nascent localization industry. Others choose titles that would never be localized due to controversial themes (e.g., lolicon). Fan translators provide their fan translating services free of charge--but they don't own the game license. All they can lay claim to is their translation, their derivative work. When you play a fan translated game, you're expected to own the original Japanese version. Few people actually buy the original game. This behavior is typically written off because in the end, no sales are lost as a result of the fan translation. The people playing the game in English weren't the target audience for the game in the first place. Also, the customer's dollars won't be achieving their intended effect. "Make more games like this" really means "make more games like this that I can play". If a fan translator has to act as a middleman, financial support does not have its intended effect. You end up with more titles you want to play but can't, since 95% of titles won't be translated. In the end, fan translation does not grow the paying fanbase. The true role of fan translation is to promote localization, allowing consumers to support games they love, to see more such titles in the future. Fan translation promotes localization by calling attention to the medium as well as particular titles. Many localization deals wouldn't have happened if fan translation efforts hadn't highlighted to Japanese developers/publishers that there was interest in these titles overseas. The role of localization Localization completes the support circuit by bringing Japanese VNs to us in a language we can understand--with the promise of more such titles in the future. It also promotes the medium more effectively than fan translators ever could, since official localization brings marketing and media attention. When fan translation undermines localization by providing an excuse for people to freeload, its usefulness ends. This is why fan translations, in general, should not be distributed once official localizations are available. On content distribution platforms (e.g., Steam) These gather funding by attracting a different audience than the VN fandom that typically follows JAST and MG. The DRM that Steam uses increases sales, but not by converting pirates to customers. Rather, it was designed to prevent resale, ensuring that every customer is funding the developer/publisher rather than funding resellers such as Gamestop. Basically, releasing a VN on Steam exposes it to the Steam ecosystem (an ecosystem highly enriched for people willing to support the games they like), attracting customers that otherwise would not have known about or been interested in the product. My stance on Planetarian and Grisaia With my general philosophy on the issue explained, I'd like to qualify it a bit in this particular context. While there's no issue with Planetarian, the release of Grisaia will be a different version from that which was translated--the all-ages version rather than the original 18+ version. There are no plans to release the 18+ version. Putting aside my personal views on this decision, the fan translation has added value for some people, and therefore there is justification for retaining the fan translation on Fuwanovel. I have strong views on this topic, but they are related to my personal interests in the VN scene and thus are outside the scope of this argument.

This is going to be long so take a seat. And don't you dare skimming through it or not reading any of the linked articles. 1. Misinterpretation of Fuwanovel mission statement I will start with this as it should be simple to explain. The portion of the mission statement that is used in the forum logo (and forum logo only) is just part of the whole mission. As you can notice on the main website, the main logo there actually describes the website differently. "Fan translated visual novels repository" And if you browse the website and visit the mission statement section, you can see the mission is actually different from what the forum logo says, it is: "Visual Novels for the World" As even included with the logo of the section: Following up in the mission statement, three main objectives are mentioned there There are three main objectives, they are: 1) Make visual novels popular in the West. 2) Promote fan translation 3) Create a community that celebrates fan translation and fan sharing. When the forums logo was made, only the first part of the mission statement was put there, because otherwise it would be too long. And many people misinterpret "West" as "America", where as it just states the general mission statement Visual Novels for the World but with different words. West in that case means outside of Japan (where Visual Novels already exist), so basically the rest of the world. What I am getting at is that nowhere on the whole website it states anything about promoting Localized copies, ensuring sales of Localized copies or celebrating success of Localization companies and commercial market. Instead it focuses on fan translation, fan efforts, fan sharing, fan creations and fan improvements to the original version. The only reason Fuwanovel doesn't share licensed versions was out of Aaeru's "good will". She decided not to include those releases as a gesture of friendliness to the companies. How those companies responded to this good will and attempts to build a friendly relationship is a different matter entirely. 2. Piracy vs Sharing The whole word "Piracy" is just wrongly used since the beginning of the internet. If you imagine piracy in a pirate movie, they invade a ship and deprive people off their possessions. But in the case of games, movies, music - that is never the case. "Piracy" on the internet just stands for "Sharing", but people for some reason needed a word that sounds evil. Instead of taking away possessions of someone else, you are being offered a shared copy of what someone already has. You are being offered a flower seed out of unlimited supply to grow your own flower and ultimately build your love for flowers to the point you want to support the people who originally imported these flowers from different parts of the world. Aaeru and Fuwanovel was always for "Sharing" and as so you could say also for "Piracy" since they are the same thing. The stuff about flower seeds and building love for flowers is much better explained in the "Spreading culture does not decrease supporters. It increases it." part of fuwanovel About section. Please read the whole article if you haven't already done so. You can notice there the part of why true fans pay money. "Your labour IS the scarcity not the copies, for it cannot be pirated." And are you going to argue that it doesn't work? Even the mentioned Steins;Gate release says exactly the opposite, many of the fuwanovel staff bought the copy even though we still direct people to the shared copy. It is not because they had to buy it, they wanted to buy it, partially thanks to the fact that the game is popularized thanks to Fuwanovel. The article mentioned above wasn't directed at localization companies however, it was mainly directed at Japanese developers and why Aaeru decided to share the copies with the improvements of additional language version. You can even see similar examples here of people buying a Japanese version if they liked the fuwanovel copy. I can even say it for myself - I am struggling to make a living and pay rent, but after finishing Iroseka (shared torrented version), I became true fan of FAVORITE, It is one of my dreams that once I solve my situation and get some more money, I will not buy some expensive food or a car or any other pleasure like that, I will buy the games with all the stupidly overpriced little perks in the box, because I want the companies to make more of it. But in the meanwhile, all I can really do is spread the word of how good the games are, link people to the Fuwanovel Hoshimemo page, praise Iroseka and make more people try to play it in Japanese now, make more people interested in translating it for even wider audience - because I know that I can find people who will fall in love with those games just like I have and maybe they will have the funds to afford the support to the companies. I was able to talk to a Japanese FAVORITE fan yesterday in pso2JP, uniting together we can get more and more fame to the company that deserves it, even though the Japanese person can buy the game with earnings from an hour or 2 of his time, and all I can do is spread the word. But I am willing to spread the word for many hours, writing reviews and comparisons, because that is all I can spare, my time. If I haven't "pirated" the games in the first place, I would never be able to do this, I would never be able to extend the fandom because I would never be able to play the game. 3. Localized releases vs Fan TL releases So as mentioned above, we are still trying to carry Aaeru's good will of not sharing localized copies, a good will even after all the things the companies have done to her in response. The good will might weaken in times of controversy we can sometimes see, but since we believe that evil should not be repaid by evil, that eye for an eye is just the wrong approach, we still continue this good will and are not sharing English licensed releases of games. But there was never such will for Japanese releases, as with those, following the points mentioned in point 2 of this post, the creator will have more success in building fandom and true fans. And as such we are sharing Japanese copy of Planetarian, a game Aaeru added to the website, improved by a collective fan effort many years ago. It is the same version a lot of you (Including me) were able to enjoy for free, thanks to the original fan effort and Fuwanovel sharing service. And the same version, translated out of passion for the game, shared between fans of Key to make their games even more popular. Without this fan copy and all the other fan translated Key games, most of us would not be able to enjoy them. Without the effort of fan subbing, lot of people would not be able to enjoy Key anime. And without that the English Key fandom would not become what it is today, a fandom that is able to organize a giant project like Key 15th Anniversary Letter. A project that will even be collaborating with Sekai project to deliver their letter, signifying their dedication. A project full of TRUE fans who will buy the official Sekai release even though they have probably played Planetarian several times. And you are asking us to simply remove all that from existence so only you and other people in the past were so privileged to enjoy it for free and become a fan. That new people cannot join the club anymore, become a fan of a free version to later potentially evolve into a true fan supporting Key by buying figs and games all over the place, just like many Fuwanovel members do. And the same goes for Grisaia, we are sharing a Japanese version of the game improved by fan translation, a version that was able to build pretty big fandom of its own. A favorite game of many thanks to the free fan translation and the free availability on Fuwanovel (among other places). A fandom built thanks to a collaborative effort of not only translators and other people on the project, but also seeders on the torrents, page creators, article writers, even people just saying "I loved this game" in a public place - all those efforts however important or hard they might be created what Grisaia true fandom today is and as such tons of them will be able to afford the steam release, while others can keep sharing the word and original fan project for free, to get even more people on the board to be able to spend their money, time or effort or combination of those to further support their beloved game. And in the end by removing the original fan translation patch you are not only depriving newcomers of things you were able to have yourself, depriving them of the sun that used to shine on you. But you are also undermining all the efforts of the people trying to share and make the game as popular as possible with the means available to them. Some people have money to import the game from Japan or later buy the game on Steam, some people only have words. But power of the words might in the end turn out more powerful than power of money. By sharing a VN and making more people be interested in it and talk about it, you are essentially trading words for words - effort and words of the original creator for the good words and effort of review writers or simply people telling their friends to play it. And in the end this trade will result in a profit for the creator, as more and more people will be interested in the words the creator has to say in their games, more and more people will want more of those words and become a true fan, patron and supporter, trading their currency for more words. 4. Fuwanovel as a negative profit website Since this was already said, I will keep it short. But Fuwanovel, unlike many other sharing websites such as nyaa, generates ZERO profit of any of this. Quite the opposite, running website and fees connected to this actually costs money and we rely on charity of people, paying their money to host and run the website, offering their seedbox so we can spread the game torrents as quickly as possible. And even the times when many of us together collected the money to buy the forum software, with whatever we could put aside at that moment. And still there is not a single ad on the website, not a single cent was generated on Fuwanovel and that is how it is going to remain. Efforts of all the people working on maintaining the website, work put into coding and additional features, forum moderation, creating new pages for newly released projects, maintaining good upload speed by seeding - all those efforts are done with 0 compensation and 0 profit. And as such everyone can expect everything on Fuwanovel be equal to everyone, whether you came a year ago or now, you will have access to the same games for the same equal price, 0. That's because 0 is the ONLY price equal to everyone in the world and even though $1 might seem equal to all Americans, it is not equal to everyone in the world, only 0 is. And as the mission statement goes, Visual Novels for the World.

And this is why I despise the Fuwanovel staff. It is now supporting a fucking terrible culture of piracy. These publishers are bringing over great things now, and Sekai has even gotten their foot in the door with Key and Frontwing! Just because people can find these games for free elsewhere doesnt make it right that they can get it here. Let other places be the blight on the western vn community. What I see is a culture of we want free shit and we dont care about helping. Because Fuwanovel IS NOT HELPING by making these things available for free when they are officially localized.

Indeed, in fact the same line has been spouted for the past decade... so how's that working out for you? The whole 'more players equals more buyers' thing? Before Steam took off, despite exponentially increasing the fanbase over the years, the highest selling game from MG was a smidge over 2,000 copies and JAST wouldn't be able to survive without the aid of J-List. Do you actually have any evidence that increasing the fanbase through piracy is actually increasing the number of sold copies? Because all the implied evidence says it isn't. MEANWHILE, one of MG's games gets on STEAM, a DRM service ensuring people PAY FOR THE PRODUCTS, and automatically one of the VNs sells 10,000 copies. It's done in an instant what increasing the fanbase through piracy couldn't do in a decade. Fuwa's original aim was to aid the production of visual novels in the West. How you would go about this aim in a serious manner while fully supporting the piracy of official products will be fairly amusing to watch.

I don't listen to music much. I mostly prefer movie/anime soundtracks that sound 'epic' and pump up your adrenaline (TDK soundtrack, for example), or soundtracks that are emotional and tearjerking. I guess you could also call these 'mood songs.' As has been said, Moon and Terra are the true routes. Moon unlocking after completing all the heroine routes, then Terra after Moon. Rewrite is my favourite VN so I don't really have anything bad to say about it, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I enjoyed all the heroine routes, some more than others but each of them were engrossing and emotionally charged. I also liked Moon despite it's technicality, my first time through it did have my head spinning at times but subsequent readings made it easier to understand and thus, enjoy. It's worth trying to understand Moon, I don't recommend skimming through it. Terra is quite different from the previous routes and it is good in it's own right. Hope you enjoy it at least half as much as I did. ^^
