  1. Sugina Miki (real name Aoki Fumio). Hands down. Stunning, detailed style that especially complements IG's horror titles. I'm proud to own an artbook of theirs.

  2. This thread is for VN main menu tracks that are catchy/memorable/atmospheric/etc. How many you post doesn't matter, but PUT THE DAMN YOUTUBE LINKS IN SPOILER TAGS so that people do not have to scroll down a couple kilometers while reading. Remember11- All or None (Piano) This track's sadness and the whole atmosphere in the main menu reflects the themes of the game beautifully (especially the first half). Danganronpa 1 & 2- DANGANRONPA A perfect introduction to Danganronpa's wacky, catchy style. Ever17- Karma Same as Remember11. This music is tied to some unforgettable moments of the VN for me, hearing it always takes me back. Euphoria- Rakuen no Tobira (Instrumental) Reason is spoilers but the track is amazing either way

  3. More terrible OELVN's, yay! I even had high hopes for this one too... So, I was trying to wait for Unwonted Studios to release the 18+ patch but since that is apparently taking forever I decided to publish it anyways. I highly doubt it will do much to improve the overall quality of this hot mess anyways... Link: http://reviews.fuwanovel.net/2016/02/14/no-one-but-you-2/

  5. You really expect something else? I think Valve mentioned it before but the reason Steam cracks down on sexual content is because of international obscenety laws, not because they're incredibly conservative or something. Obscenety laws are really hard to fight against and could put Steam in trouble in countries where pornography is either illegal or eroge is considered child porn *cough*Canada*cough*. Until Steam can sort out a system that protects them from these laws, it's unlikely they'll allow full blown eroge on Steam. What I think is the best solution is to do what HuniePop did and have patches to give you the uncensored content instead, that way you technically still don't have porn on Steam, but you can still get the "Steamy" content.

"I personally rated this a 9/10 on my VNDB, but keep in mind; I am yuri freak. " Objectivity lost right there..lost faith in senpai -grumble grumble, rant rant- Anyhow, good review senpai even if your score is biased by your yuri love taking over your brain...Good job Wouldn't any of us do that?

  8. Not necessarily. Sekai Project has suggested in the past that they like to pick up titles with name recognition in the West (source). Most of these happen to be titles that have been fan-translated or had a popular anime adapation. It's a mistake to assume that the crowd that buys VNs on Steam is the same crowd that plays fan-translated VNs. It's not a mistake to assume that these people are influenced by the crowd that plays fan-translated VNs. Everyone has to keep in mind that Sekai Project has a marketing budget of zero or close to it. They want titles they can sell to people (not necessarily us) with no marketing effort on their part. Fan-translated titles are good for that.

  9. I'm not asking for a translation of Dies Irae or something like that (although I'm pretty sure it would do well with a Kickstarter, which Sekai Project has a fetish for) but more titles on the level of Grisaia and G Senjou No Maou that aren't translated. Although I am looking forward to Chrono Clock, whenever they finish it.

  12. What are some of your favorite visual novel artists? Which artist left an impression on you as you read through a certain vn? Which one made you wish to see more of their work? For me, it is either Tony Taka, who's done "Sora no Iro, Mizu no Iro" "Fault!" "After..." and many others. Another is Happoubi Jin. whos done stuff such as "KanojoxKanajoxKanojo" and its sequel, "Boin" and its sequel, as well as the Bishoujo Mangekyou series. what about you? whos some of your favorite vn artists?

  13. Fuwsqui and I are back with an all new giveaway game featuring all the wonderful members of Fuwanovel and my YouTube subscribers that are interested in joining! Are you a price master? Can you successfully guess the cost of a being a figurine collector? Count your money and find out in... Name That Price! Video Link The Rules: Please read this entire section! The rules of the game are simple. In the video linked above, I show you a total of 7 different figurines. It is your job to guess the actual price of each item and provide me a grand total of what you think it all costs. The winner will be the individual who correctly guesses the total price of all the figurines. Here is some additional information regarding the rules of the game: Prices are based off what I personally paid for each figure. You can use retail prices to gauge an estimate, but the rest is on you. Prices must be provided in Japanese yen, rounded to the nearest 100 (i.e. = 1,543 yen -> 1,500 yen). Shipping price is not included in any of the figurines listed. You do not need to worry about over/under pricing the items; the closest estimate wins. Note: Discussion and/or sharing of answers in this thread is allowed, however please submit all solutions in this thread by indicating your total yen amount clearly and in bold letters. PM is also acceptable, however I prefer responses in this thread if you have a Fuwanovel account as I may be getting plenty of YouTube subscriber responses as well. You are allowed to edit your answer at any time, however I will announce a final cutoff date later during the week. For YouTube subscribers, commenting on the video in the comment's section is perfectly acceptable if you don't feel like making an account on Fuwanovel. At one point during the event, I will post price tag clues for everyone to use. These tags will list some money hints. Make sure to pay attention when these price tags go up. The Winner: The winner of the competition will receive a $50 prize! This prize money can be paid to you via PayPal, or be used by me to buy any item(s) online of your choice (within reason). If you choose the latter option, all I will do is pay for the item via my own credit card and ship the item to an address of your choice. Note: If you manage to correctly guess the exact amount of the figurines (rounded to the nearest 100 yen), you will double the prize and win a grand total of $100! Additional Help: 100 yen = $1.00 (during even exchange rates) MyFigureCollection is an excellent source for retail prices. Questions? Discuss answers and ideas in this thread and don't hesitate to ask! Good luck, and have fun!

    Kimihane kanojo review

Hey everyone! So it's time for another review, this time of a yuri title that I just finished last night, Kimihane Kanojo to kanojo no koi suru Ikkagetsu. I got recommended this a little while back and decided to read it because I thought it was just a short yuri nukige. But boy was I wrong ... The story: The story is quite lighthearted and simple, three girls who think they saw an angel when they were younger live together in a dorm. These three girs get along very well and the story is just their daily lives unfolding before our eyes. Or, rather, it is actually being seen by someone else. The story is told in a third person narrative, being looked at by a mystery person. The third person narrative is quite interesting; its something I haven't seen much off in VNs, and it made for a fun experience, reading an untranslated novel in the third person. It's a novel strongly built on the slice of life element. The story is split into 4 chapters, with 4 routes, each route has its own unique twist on the four chapters, with new CG, dialouge and events. The routes are each coupling, Rin x Hina, Hina x Fumi, Fumi x Rin, and finally a secret route unlocked after the completion of the previous three. Each scene during the game tends to be quite specific and short, but in return there are many of them. So let's say they are sitting in the living room having dinner, there is a short sequence where they do that, then it suddenly switches to a different scene, let's say, they are now at school. This is actually a very comfortable way to read an untranslated novel for me, as its very easy to get the context of the conversation. Also, story wise, there is a reason for this specific short scene duration, and it is revealed during the last, hidden route. There is an enforced playing order, where a new route is unlocked after the current one is finished. Also, there are NO choices in the game. You get some unique dialouge choices in the form of these screens: However these have no effect on the routes and the story at all, and they are simply small unique scenarios. All in all, the story is very light and cute, the language in the novel is simple, but it still keeps you entertained the entire time. Similar to Sono Hanabira, it focuses strongly on it's character interatcion. The characters: The story offers very few characters, only four of which has a sprite. These four characters are the ones who make up the bulk of the game's story. These characters are: Hina: Hina is kind of the little sister in the group. She is super adorable; a small girl with a loud voice. (She tends to yell a lot.) She does a lot of stuff that just makes you go, "aww", but unlike Fumi, she is quite ... Noisy. She isn't a fragile and gentle little girl, but rather a loud and energic one. She spends a lot of her time yelling at Rin, and this makes her appear more like an older sister, despite her role in the little "family" being the little sister/daughter. Rin: Rin is my favorite character of the three. She is a slob, managing to put her glasses in the fridge like 8 times during the story. She sleeps in all the time and is always yelled at by the little energy bomb that is Hina. Basically everything Rin does will make you laugh. She is less innocent and more direct and frank, making her do hilarious stuff like roleplay sexual scenarios with Fumi's stuffed animals, get in bed with Fumi telling Hina to look away as "mama and papa" are going to be doing grown up stuff. She will make you laugh a lot, and thats what I loved about her. Of course, just like the other two she has sides of her which aren't so clear, that you learn more about during the routes. Fumi: Fumi is the mother among the three. She is very polite and formal, always takes care of the housework and steps in as a peacekeeper whenever the two others start quarreling. She is gentle and adorable, but just like Rin, she has different sides to her which are discovered during the routes. Lastly, Sachiko: Umm.. She is the ... Middle aged dorm manager who keeps on touching the girls... She also tries to pay them to be painted nude. .. uhh.. Someone call the police..? General impressions and thoughts: Like I said in the introduction, Kimihane looked like your average yuri nukige to me, but wow was I wrong. It is by no means a nukige; I'd probably call it a moege, (as there are only 2 H-scenes per route and quite a lot of cute and adorable, lighthearted dialouge and scenes dominate the game.) The art in the game is really nice, with several CG variants for each scene and well done character details and sprites. This also makes the H-Scenes quite enjoyable, though like I said, the H-scenes were actually not what made me stick around for this one. Each character has a lot of developement throughout the story, and each route brings out a new side of them that we haven't seen before. This makes each route feel unique and very enjoyable. The humor in the game is quite entertaining, and the romance is well done, though its a little bit simple and moe like. Don't expect extremely prfound and deep relationships. Even though the story is so simple and light though, it doesn't make you feel bored or tired of what is going on. The characters keep the romantic routes interesting, but what really blew my mind was the hidden route. Once I played it, I just went... "Ohhhhh!" It did such a good job of suprising me and I think it will suprise you as well. I never saw that coming. Anyways, since the game is fairly short there isn't too much else to be said. Honestly, my conclusion is this: PLAY IT! It's short, its really cute and light but at the same time it has its moments where the story really takes you by suprise. The characters are wonderfull and entertaining and the art is really nice. I personally rated this a 9/10 on my VNDB, but keep in mind; I am yuri freak. I think a more objective rating would be something like a 7.5. But this is definitely not something you should play just because it has yuri. It's quite the good little novel, and it left me seriously pleasantly suprised. That's it for today folks, thanks for reading!

0/10 IGN Too much grills kissing. On a serious note, Sachiko is the best girl. She really resonates with how I would act when managing a dorm filled with teenage girls. And now I have to go hide from the police because of that comment. Pretty good review overall Homolover

  22. Hasn’t there been all sorts of talk regarding what price Key used to demand for the privilege of localising their games? Wasn't it an arm and leg from every member of the localisation studio, the first born of the CEO, and a thousand souls nabbed from the recently departed (stored in a jar with a rubber seal for convenient transportation.)

  23. Yes to majikoi no to Harukoi Otome. oh my god, does harukoi have sooooo much drama. its also very depressing. there are routes that have choices that can make you feel like a piece of crap and a route thatll make you sad. not the good kind of sad, like "What a beautifully told story" but the "DEAR GOD WHHHHYYYYY?!?" kind of sad.

  31. For me they are: Happoubi Jin Happoubi Jin, or BiMan is the artist for such succesful nukige titles such as Bishoujo Mangekyou and Kanojo x Kanojo x Kanojo I fell in love with his artstyle when I played Norowareshi Densetsu no Shoujo, and he's the best nukige artist I know Motoi Ayumu Ayumu is one of my two favorite artist overall, and I've loved her works in KonoSora and Miagete. Shida Kazuhiro As the huge Favorite fanatic I am, Kazuhiro appeals to me immensly. Some may think the art as little different, but I love his works. The second of my favorite artists overall. (Also yay for more showing off Yume ) Senmaiba Senmaiba is a new one. I loved the style in Gahkthun and Shining Night Definetly a new favorite.

  34. Of course. If they release one game a year, then you can consider the yearly upkeep of the company as the cost to produce one game, regardless of how they shift staff around projects. Management staggers projects and shifts staff around them so they can keep employees working all year round, regardless of what their role is. But I also understand that Japanese employees in Otaku industries tend to do a lot of moonlighting, so I'm not sure how many "full time" employees you can say your average eroge studio has. Either way, $120,000 sounds way too cheap for your average charage.

  36. >Sell 2000 copies and get half a million Unless your game costs 250 dollars a copy, that's not gonna happen. If any VN made half a million profit to any company (excluding AAA developers), I think it could be considered successful. It really depends on how much budget was put in the game though. If your game cost half a million to make and you only made half a million back, you've just broken even, for example.

  37. Still not slow compared to JAST. I think this is 5 years or so since they started promoting Outlaw Django, and JAST has been sitting on the completed Seinarukana for how long now? I'm also getting a good chuckle from those mocking Sekai's line up. I'm hoping these people are not supporting ANY localiser then (and are reading games in native JP,) considering the best part of the line up of all 3 big localising companies is shit.

  38. I just don't get why the hell Sekai Project wouldn't aim for already translated titles. It's more cost efficient, faster and goes nicely with their motto of spreading VN's around. Sure, most VN fans may have already played such fan translations, but that's why Sekai Project always goes for steam. In my opinion, they'd be bonkers if they didn't go for fan translated titles when they have the chance.

How scary it can get in horror ( Like Rewrite's Lucia ( Not really horror but I like the way to was portrayed)) Clover Day's childhood nostalgic feel even though you just met the characters just an hour ago it already feels like they are your childhood friends. AstralAir. Specifically in the common route when talking to Yuki. It feels nostalgic and mysterious at the same time.

    Fuwanovel Confessions

Confession: I feel incredibly happy and proud today. I went with my circle of close friends from my school to see Deadpool after school today. The thing is, this year I met this antisocial dude who was in my class. I introduced him to my circle of friends, and he recently started to hang out with us (before that it was usually the two of us or me with my circle of friends without him during our free time). He says that for years, he's been just hanging out by himself. He's this ultra overweight gamer. Today, as we were having a meal after the movie, this friend just goes and says "You know what, let's do this a monthly thing!". I felt proud and happy because 1) It was one of the few moments in the last few days that I felt like I wasn't wasting my time and 2) I'd helped someone become more social.
