I've read Umineko twice, and I must say that the second time was the best. Umineko was literally my first VN, and I did not care enough by the time to go deep into the story and its many twists and hidden meanings. Besides, there is too much that you can miss in When They Cry (the series) if you don't know yet what is happening in the background. I intend to reread it again, but I need more years to do so. Other VNs that I might reread someday are Forest, which I did not pay too much attention to when reading, Little Busters (I've just finished it, so only in the next five years or so), Never7, as it was the only game in the series that I did not expect the supernatural/sci fi elements, so didn't bother with them before, and maybe Katahane, as I enjoyed it a lot and I recall it having another version to be released.2 points

I liked 3 better by far, so HH - you're not alone. 2 is too bright, and also somewhat crude in a way (crude drawing I mean... not anything about morality lol) Perhaps people want more realism added to 3?... Honestly, I'd opt for an "invisible" option... dicks be ugly man, fact. if it's got to be seen, don't make it absurdly large like yer fisting a girl and... well - opinion is just opinion, but I just prefer the major eye-catcher to be the girl's nice parts, and not the guy's ... definitely, well - imho.2 points

Nekonyan's Two August Announcements
Plk_Lesiak and one other reacted to littleshogun for a topic
The first announcement was here, and it's Hello Lady in which I've been interested with, mainly because as GPPC fan I finally can hear Yamamura Hibiku voicing a heroine here. I knew that people would interested with this as chuuni VN, so easy to say that I'll looking forward to the eventual release because usually chuuni VN did have some good reception and this one is quite well liked.2 points -

Formlose Gestalt and one other reacted to Xeviax for a topic
For Sakura Sakura, the upscaling, translation, and editing is done. It still needs to get through QA though. Yotsunoha is also being QA'ed right now as well. We definitely want to release the titles as soon as possible (like you said, they do us no good not being on a store), but we want to make sure they get proper QA. From my understanding, the 18+ release is essentially a continuation of the all-ages volume 1, but it will include 18+ content (you can think of it almost like volume 1 chapter 1, and volume 1 chapter 2). The all-ages version would still be needed to follow the story.2 points -

Hi there, everyone! My name is Azura, and I joined a while back but only lurked, hehe. I'm a visual novel developer, and I make otome and yuri VNs! It's nice to meet you all. If you want, you can check out my most recent work: https://patchworkprincess.itch.io/square-one-demo Square One is a yuri visual novel about the relationship that blooms between an impulsive optimist and the troubled girl she pulls back from the brink of despair. It's a totally free VN, and I hope you guys like it!1 point -

Just for the record, this is not the only opening in the VN. The second (spoilerous) one is the sole reason why I'm so interested in the VN in the first place.1 point -
Ever played a VN twice?
snowbell55 reacted to Turnip Sensei for a topic
I'd actually like to read everything I happened to really enjoy twice, if I had enough time. The second time I tend to focus on and appreciate different aspects of the story better, like atmosphere and thematic elements, since the bit overwhelming desire to see what happens next in the plot is gone. Plus reading a story I already know I like is good stress-free and guaranteed enjoyment, something which is very important at times. VNs I've read twice: Kara no Shoujo 2, Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning (actually thrice), Steins;Gate, Fate/stay night (Fate-route), SeaBed, Va-11 HALL-A.1 point -

As with some others, I don't read the whole thing in full, but do read the common route and my favorite route. The two biggest examples of this would be Katawa Shoujo and Princess Evangile. For KS, I've taken to rereading the common route + the Hanako route (my favorite) every year. It's the route that got me hooked on the medium and even now I still find it fun and relaxing to read. As for PE I haven't yet reread it, but I greatly enjoyed it and plan on rereading the common route and Rise's route, before jumping into W Happiness for the first time. I'm also strongly considering rereading the Konomi and Tama-nee routes from To Heart 2 (I really REALLY liked those routes and heroines - ) and also the Chisato route from Koichoco (I'm a fan of her as well).1 point -

Not in full - but I read Kotori's route in Konosora twice. First time I dropped the VN after it, 'cause Ageha's route was unreadable, and then when retranslation patch was released I read whole VN again.1 point -
Since I've only started playing VNs from about 1.5 years ago and I still have so much new stuff to read, I haven't. But I do plan to reread some VNs in the future, especially those that rely more on the atmosphere than the actual plot, so knowing what will succeed is not actually that important.1 point

I've read VNs twice. Generally speaking, however, when rereading I reread only the bits I want to. The Fruit of Grisaia, Majikoi, Little Busters!, Highway Blossoms... I've reread those, and there are others I'd be more than willing to. The Second Reproduction, for instance.1 point -

You can save and load at any time. You can do so so you don't have to replay or skip through parts you've already seen. So you can save at #5, read Yotsuko's route, load the save, read Lavi's. Continue+ is an extra scenario. If you make the right choices you can read it. It immediately sends you back to the menu if you fail, so it's easy to get through.1 point -
MAITETSU 18+ DEMOSAIC STEAM-FAKKU PATCH [COMPLETE]
ThugShiro reacted to HoplessHiro for a topic
Thats true. But like i said. The knowledge is there and is always good to have an option. And i promised to make an steam patch. Ps. I added a new pool with multiple choices which gives me feedback for what would you like to see in the near future. PS2. Err... can some mods or admins check if that in the Poll is correct that already "51 members have voted" in just a couple of minutes ? Or is there some bug and somehow the votes from the old poll copied to the new poll?1 point -
Given the hype surrounding this paedo loli VN release, I'd be very surprised to learn that anyone found out about it from steam only...1 point

Here is the Opening: And here is the blog post with the annoucement: https://nekonyansoft.com/blog/august-announcements-first-strike Beside the actual annoucements I find the last part really interesting. After all those news about Chinese companies cranking out unreadable MTL this is some actual good news, and a potential good strategy for Nekonyan. On to Hello Lady!. I have to say first impressions aren't to great with yet another high school setting and a light atmosphere. But I trust all those impressions that there is more than meets the eye. I just hope that I am not going to hate the protagonist. But hating the protagonist didn't stop me from enjoying Hanachirasu, so I am going to give Hello Lady! a chance. But I feel obligated to buy Hello Lady! anyway just to keep the dream of Bradyon Veda alive. That reminds me I have to make an account somewhere else...1 point -
You guys should read the whole thread. The announcement has been made already. So, the more sales that occur on Steam, the more visible your game is on their storefront. Sol Press is operating under the principle that the best way to maximize sales is to get as many people to buy the game on Steam as possible, thus enhancing its visibility on the storefront and making it more likely that other people will notice the game and buy it. There are a lot of people who are willing to buy games wherever they are, and if you release first outside of Steam, the hardcore fans will buy it outside of steam, and then you end up with fewer steam reviews, fewer community hub contributions and forum posts, and lower sales chart performance (and also will make it less likely that valve is willing to spotlight your game in special events and such, though that's always a crapshoot anyway). So, shepherding people to Steam first and foremost and then exploring other platforms later is a valid business strategy.1 point

Cannot decide what to read first from this four
phantomJS reacted to littleshogun for a topic
I think Clephas more or less were already described the reason for Island, and you can search his Newton VN at his blog if you want to know his reaction for that. Anyway, as for my recommendation here I would say that you should keep read Island anyway, but just keep in mind that you need to be open minded about that - same goes for Himawari actually. Anyway as for the order I think you can go for Newton VN first, then Root Letter, Himawari, and finally Island. Of course you can change the order there. In the end, I hope that you'll have fun reading those VNs if you still interested to read those four.1 point -

LB extra routes
snowbell55 reacted to Corrupted for a topic
I think you're supposed to understand everything after refrain. Those other three paths are just for fun. Saya is pretty dang funny though, you're missing out if you skip her :>1 point -
You don't need motivation to read, you're supposed to enjoy it. If you have to force yourself to continue, then just drop it. For example, I waited years for Clover Day's TL, but in the end, once I decided to read it in Japanese I dropped it after one route because I found it just meh. I don't have to force myself to read everything because I waited years and many people praise it. If I can't enjoy myself I'd rather read something else. On the other end, reading Baldr Sky Dive (2) right now, around 80+ hours in and I'm still enjoying the hell out of it, so I can read non-stop. To finish, yeah you might miss something by dropping it because perhaps you'd come to like it later after struggling a little, but if you're reading something else you enjoy instead, the end result is the same. You read to have a great time, it's not a duty, so as long as you're enjoying yourself it doesn't matter what you read.1 point
