500th Post: The Journey: The Regret: The Movie
Ayana and 4 others reacted to Arcadeotic for a topic
It finally happened. I hope you like redundant [insert number here] post "looking back at"-topics, because we're at it again, ladies and gents. I found Fuwa in June 2014, when torrents were still a thing around here. It was a neat site back then, but I really didn't visit it that often, only a few times in the span of the rest of 2014. Then when 2015 rolled around, the changes to the site sort of pushed me away, and I slowly forgot about it. I never really fancied Fuwa, and I liked r/visualnovels much more, and thus spent the majority of 2015 there. And then December of 2015 rolled around. I was talking to a few of my friends and decided to make an account on here, though the account was only for the sole reason to post my partial save file of KoiChoco, to skip Chisato's route. I soon after forgot about Fuwa again. However, I did check the comments on the thread every now and then. Some time after that, I was thinking about translating the first game in the Bishoujo Mangekyou series, but as this kind of topic would be kind of stupid on r/vns, I posted that query here, and got quite a positive reception. That was a little over 3 months from now. A few days later I noticed how Fuwa had a option for chatting, so I decided to give that a try. From that point on my Fuwa experience was only about chatting and doing my translation project. I never would've thought about being active in the Forums. But then things changed. Mainly Kaguya's little experiment, Chatmod-chan. I decided to volunteer for it, and met a few good people. It was fun, for the week it lasted. Soon after that, I was invited to my very first PM chat/conversation. From there I met even more people, and decided to also become active on the Forums. This was at the mid-point of January, I think. From that I steadily rose with my posts, had some laughs, had some disputes, gushed about Gahkthun, it was mostly good. Then, in the mid-point of February, I got to know some new personalities, including some of the mods. Soon after that OriginalRun made a certain topic about the under-staffing of the chat, mainly the moderators there. Soon after I was elected to the rule of a chat mod, thanks to Kaguya. Through that I met some new people, and gained even more of a rich experience. I felt like I had reached a good point in Fuwa in a such short period of time. That's the sweet and short version of my history here. Now for the part you all love oh so much, the nominations. @Kawasumi You're one of the two users I knew before coming to Fuwa. I hope to see you around even more. @12kami One of the major chat personalities I've interacted with. You're a lot of fun, I'm looking forward to more. @Dergonu The first person I ever had any long conversations with aside from Kawasumi. You're a nice guy, keep doing what you're doing, yuri-freak @CeruleanGamer I haven't talked to you a lot, but you have interesting opinions and our interest align a lot, so I like you. @Kaguya The mod I've talked the most with. I respect you, hope it continues that way. @VirginSmasher You're a cool guy, our interest don't always align, but I usually like to hear what you have to say. @DarkZedge I like you. You haven't talked about your tastes that much outside of Comyu, but I do like the fact you're an avid neko lover. @gijimu Another fun person from chat. I like your output most of the time, and you're an overall very nice to be around. @Zebhra You always have a some fun input in the chat. Keep being a massive pervert, old man. @mitchhamilton I like our little master-servant relationship we have. Good going, trap lover. @Kiriririri Other good guy/gal from Northern Europe. I like your obsession of moe, you're a good guy. @Ayana Good ol' Zealty. You're still fun to be around, and your obsession with traps is entertaining to watch. @Poinu You are always entertaining in the chat. Be it your moaning about Chinese or just starting Poi trains. @SajkoWolfe You're the last of the majoj chat personalities important to me. You're fun to be around, never change. @Tay Haven't really interacted with you that much, but we all are thankful to you for keeping the site alive, and so am I @Nosebleed I can definitely see why you're so popular and respected around here. Keep on breaking the site. Other fellow chat mods @Kurisu-Chan, @Nimbus and @Makudomi. Honorable mentions for people I've interacted to some amount, but not enough. And with that, this post has reached its conclusion. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to figure something clever for my title. Until we meet again.5 points -

Conjueror's Untranslated Visual Novel Tournament [Discussion]
FinalChaos and 3 others reacted to Conjueror for a topic
Baldr games take place in the same universe but they don't share plot or characters. You don't need to play any other games in the series to play Baldr Sky just like you don't need to play all nine Final Fantasies before jumping into X. But yes, this was a tragedy. Baldr Sky is a nice game, but ppl have no idea what they've done because Muramasa is literally the best visual novel ever written.4 points -

Yeah the restricted mons being added into the stale 2015 format just fucked everything up. 2014 was a good year. The 2015 world championship was literally just the same team for all the top 8 trainers... Stupid genies and cresselia + a kang. Thats was basically it. Hope 2017 will be better. VGC 2016 is boring to me already.2 points

Majikoi Save Problem
Arcadeotic reacted to Dergonu for a topic
So the save folder for Majikoi is supposed to be created under my documents > my games > みなとそふと > save. (Something like that.) If that is not happening, A) Is your computer on japanese locale? The game CAN run without it, but it could be that the save folder cant be made correctly as it doesnt recognize the path since its not in Japanese locale. So make sure your computer is on Japanese locale, if not, turn it on and restart, then try again. B) Is the folder under programfiles? Sometimes the computer goes retard mode and isnt allowed to access files in programfiles, which means it cannot create saves without permission. If its there, try moving the actual game folder itself, delete the old save folder and try again. See if any of those works.1 point -

I said it on Twitter and I'll say it again here. This has got to be one of the biggest wastes of a license I have personally ever seen. A visual novel like this should be handled with care and not a Kickstarter that looks worse that Root Double's one at the beginning. Also, releasing a censored version of this VN is ridiculous. I won't be backing this at all and I'm not hoping for these guys to reach their goal. This Kickstarter needs to bomb so we can show VN companies that we won't back something just because of the VN.1 point

Inaction can also be the cause of issues. If instead of neglecting your duties you had been keeping an eye on things, this wouldn't have happened.1 point -
The best thing that can come of this, if they actually properly negotiated licensing with the license holders, is if once this fails someone who actually knows wtf they're doing comes along and picks up the license instead. It would be cool if this is a sign that inre are interested in the western market. Hopefully this enables them to find an actual competent partner.1 point

You don't say? I'd argue that it's much, much worse. At least Root Double didn't charge $100 for shipping and didn't have a campaign written in Engrish (before they cleaned it up) with utterly confusing tiers. I spent $200 on the MuvLuv Kickstarter and the shipping cost $10 lmao Holy shit, they forgot to add one of the heroines (the blonde one, Emoshichi Yatou) to the page. This just gets better and better. Apparently it's just the same company using a different name, or something like that, to avoid getting crap for launching one Kickstarter with another one going. I find the lack of effort they put in to hide that rather amusing. Kinda defeats the point.1 point

VN Reading Club - Steins;Gate (about bloody time)
LiquidShu reacted to Fred the Barber for a topic
So, here's exactly what I did when I installed it: 1) Both installer.zip and data.bin went to my "downloads" folder by default 2) Explicitly extracted the .zip file to a new folder (right-click, extract, or something along those lines) 3) Moved the .bin file to the resulting folder with the unzipped installer 4) Ran the installer. I can't tell from your screenshot if the .bin and the installer are sitting in the same folder, or if you're trying to run the installer by just double-clicking the zip file and then double-clicking the installer, i.e. without explicitly extracting the zip file. If it's the latter, I wouldn't be surprised when it doesn't work, but if it's the former, it worked for me so I don't know what else to say...1 point -

Fuwanovel Confessions
Darklord Rooke reacted to Valmore for a topic
Funny thing, when you're kids, you're dumb. In middle school the two people who made fun of me and my best friend the most usually went with the "gay" taunting route. We're talking late 80's here, so we're not anywhere near sort-of-understanding mode yet. Many years later we're all friends on Facebook. My best friend lives in Seattle with his wife and kids. I live in Tallahassee with my wife and kids. The two main teasers? One is gay and the other is transgender. Maybe it really is those who don't know about themselves that use it to lash out the most. Anyway, you grow up and usually everything is cool, because you all realize how stupid you were as kids.1 point -

Look. Today's the 10th of March. 10+3=13. M is the 13th letter of the alphabet. We're in 2016. 2x6+1=13. Again. It's a Thursday. How do you say Thursday in japanese? Mokuyoubi. Yep. An M again. If that's not enough to convince you, consider this. This is the 61168th post on this sub-forum. 61168 = 13 x 13 x 2 x 181. Again, 2 M. And 181 is the 42th prime number. 42, as everyone knows, is the answer to life, the universe and everything. Therefore Muramasa is the answer to life, the universe and everything and you should vote for it.1 point

Fuwanovel Confessions
Kenshin_sama reacted to FruitsPunchSamurai for a topic
Confession: I used to be a bully back in middle school. One time i had these 2 kids that were a lower grade than me fight each other just for my enjoyment. I ended up getting suspended when someone snitched on me . I also did lots of other things of which i am not proud of to my lower peers. I cleaned up my act after seeing a presentation along with other guys that were troublemakers like me by the father of a kid who comitted suicide after suffering from bullying for years. This was set up by the school of course. Overall what's been done is done, but this is a time in my life that i want to forget about. I eventually ended up apologizing and making friends with one of the classmates that i bullied, and he brings this up every now and then to make me sad inside. In other news today a homeless man was masturbating in the train that i was riding home in today. NYC is the best!1 point -
