  1. Mwahaha! One step closer to world domination! Continuing where we canonically ended... I'm going to ignore the suggestions that came after this image before because I need excuses to stall time now. -_- So continue like always.

  2. Community Spotlight Video Series Information I have finally begun work on my spotlight video series, and much like I did with the Fuwanovel podcast, I thought it would be best to consolidate all of this project's information into a single official thread. As you may have been aware, I am not the only one on this site that does projects for the community; there are plenty of translation groups and fun activities that are hosted around Fuwanovel. That being said, I wanted to make a video series showcasing some of the awesome stuff people do around here and give everyone credit where I believe credit is well deserved. Being completely separate from the podcast and the "Get to Know your Community" series, these videos are meant to showcase Fuwanovel and the countless hours put into it everyday. Rather than talking about who we are, the goal of the series is to talk about what we do. That being said, I plan to showcase many threads and translation groups from around the community in my videos. Because there are so many different things I am able to highlight however, these videos will not be episodic and simply be put into a playlist on my YouTube channel in the order they are released. That said, this thread is designed to discuss things you as members want to see highlighted around the site. If you have any suggestions for what I should spotlight, please don't hesitate to let me know. Below is a link where all current and future episodes are located on my YouTube channel. Community Spotlight Video Series YouTube Channel Playlist Anyways, I hope you enjoy the series and check out some of the other threads and activities around Fuwanovel as a result.

    What is free will?

Well that's certainly the easiest and cheapest way to sidestep the contradiction, instead of thinking where you might be wrong just label any choice that results in a contradiction as an impossible choice. That's kind of similar to what happened with the Church and Galileo. When he pointed out that the observations contradicted the Church's opinion that the Earth was the center of the universe, rather than think they might be wrong they declared that it's impossible for it to be any other way. Just something to think about. Not really, while judging how correct a person's opinion is based on how well they phrase it is a pretty bad idea, someone who speaks coherently is more likely to be right than someone who can barely string two words together. Also speaking incoherently increases the chances that even if your opinion is correct, people will misunderstand it.

  7. The feint works. You deliver the roundhouse kick with devastating accuracy. However, you miscalculated how much damage you would do. The thief still has enough consciousness to dodge your followup naginata. Mimicking you, he activates his final form.

Thanks so much for that! Yeah, it is really a project made out of love. Persona 3/4 is probably my favourite games, but I found myself rushing through the dungeons in order to get to the story/social links even though the reason I originally bought 3 was because I wanted the JRPGness. However, I did really like how both games worked together to create a cohesive whole and I wanted to see how that worked for other genres as well. I didn't really see any games that were doing what I wanted to play and rather than just complain, I figured I'd do it myself. I just hope that we're able to make our goal. I'm really excited about your project as well, I'm a fan of hybridmink's art too. I'm actually a big fan of VNs on a small screen. The issue is that a lot of people will just port what they did for PC rather than design their UI to be for that platform which can make it really annoying to play. I don't have too much time to play games, so with the short bursts of free time I get I'm usually doing on my Vita or iOS device. That's just me though.

  13. Lol 12 episodes is barely long enough for the common route so it would not suprisme me if it went no further than that. Unless they are already planning a second season. As for route's I want Amane's route. But as for putting my money on, i will go for the long head shot. That they are going to adapt all three games in multiple seasons.

    Hello everyone!

Hello, welcome to fuwa! Rewrite is a very nice VN to read (it's my personal favorite), but it might be a bit lengthy(easily over 50 hours of reading). Anyway, hope you'll enjoy your time here!

  18. I'm not a fan of steampunk, but I did enjoy the scientific progression in The Wheel of Time, so I'll probably enjoy it in Morlock the Maker.

  19. hey i know this is only slightly relevant but, its been bugging me for ages now. How come almost every fantasy story that pits science vs magic goes for the unrealistic outcome of having the magic side win? Science is much more likely to win bacause you know you don't really have time to shout a six word spell for a barrier while someone is shooting at you with a assualt rifle. Because you know bullets are a little faster...... Well I suppose there are exceptions like zero no tsukaima and The Gate thus the JSDF fought there but those are really rare exceptions. Also The gate is a great manga by the way. With a good story and likable charaters. It is adapted from a novel, unfortunatly it is not translated wich is a real shame. As far as i am aware the reason is is that it is to difficult to translated. Another thing that has been bugging me is, Why is it always the whimps that get summond to another word, would it not be nice if we got a soldier summond to another word for a change. Just imagine Louise summoning a special force soldier who was on a training excercise instead of saito. I think that would make for some great comedy. And having a proactive protagonist for a change would be nice as well.

  20. I don't like it so much because it's a bad story, it's that I really don't find J.K. Rowling's writing to be that good. But, that's just my opinion, I know plenty of people, more than plenty, most people who read it like the series, but it just doesn't work for me. I'll give it a look as well. It's not really... poetic, it's more like he's... I don't want to say he's not great for the first few chapters, but he's getting used to it and then gets a whole lot better as he does. Hard to explain unless you read it. No, it's about an old, cynical, and cranky guy who everyone thinks is a wizard, but is just a decent mechanic in all reality. There are 'werewolves' of the sort, but they're mainly the antagonists of the book. Told from the point of view of a set of gods that hate the main character. If you like corrupt politicking and some really dark fantasy (has mature themes that do make people uncomfortable, one of the main characters is castrated, another was raped in front of Morlock {the main character} and he gets put into a prison where he does some pretty terrible things) but if you're okay with reading something like that, you'd probably enjoy it. Of course, read the books that come before that one, as it is a series, but ya know.

  21. Sounds great. You could also give Warbreaker a go if you like clever characters, as one of the main characters, Lightsong, is very, very clever. His conversations with Blushweaver are quite entertaining. I'll try that when I finish with Words of Radiance. And more a poetic writing structure may turn out to be quite refreshing. Does The Wolf Age involve a guy who is becoming a wolf or something along those lines? Because after The Wheel of Time (And some other book I don't remember the title of), I'm quite bored of that particular plot line.

  23. Sorry, that's what I meant. Brain failure seems to happening to me now, as it is 4:20 AM and I seem to have not slept in nearly forty eight hours. Oh well then that's not too bad. Oooo. I'm excited for that route, then. Because Amane's was particularly long, probably took up about half of her route if I'm not mistaken. Well, I'm hoping not. Hope it's all rainbows and sunshine. And Majikoi typically is more lighthearted than Grisaia, typically, so I don't think we'll get Amane's ending for Miyako, hopefully it won't have its sad content. And do any of you ever have that thought for a split second of 'Hrm. Maybe I can write a VN' and then squash that thought like you're Master Hand in Super Smash Bros. ?

  24. ...Fuck me, man. Staying away from that route, then. Play makina's route it is worth the inapropiate H-scenes, just stay as far away from the bad ending as possible. As for yuij brain failure, it is more his social skills failing miserably. well it is to be expexted they where never good and he needs good social skills for both Miciruciru and sachi's routes and in both routes that is where he failes. But his failure is understandable if you take his past into account. Ow and for the long bits about thier failure you will be suprized about how short that part is for miciruciru. As for Maijkoi, her route is not bittersweet i believe but i can't say for shure as it is not translated. She just want's your genes and give herself to you.

    What are you playing?

Slowly working my way through Makina's route. Still in the "funny part", which is nice. Makina and/or Sachi trolling Michiru is one of the best things about Grisaia. EDIT x2: Oh my God, I finally learned where Touka got her "I'll murder you!" line from, and that one-liner, and all of her tsundere phrases xD

  30. For now, I'll play some games or something to get over the feels and sleep soon. Thanks for reading if you did. You are forgetting something about her route, shortly after yuji found out she tells him she origionally did it out of obligation and later actually came to love him even though she did not wan't to fall for him because she felt she needed ''punishment''. Other thant that i personally also can't deel that well with bad endings life throws enough shit at you the way it is. I can live with bittersweet endings thoug. But personally i think that it should have ended when the baby was born and makina whent to study in germany i believe.

I think they have too much gameplay elements to be considered VNs, even though kamidori and the like still are considered VNs those 2 aren't.

  35. Increasing our userbase seems important. I'm not the most experienced person in the matter, but we'd have much to gain if we were able to use the blog/facebook/etc to gather more users. It seems like you're planning on that already, but I think the way you're thinking is slightly ineffective? If you gather a team of writers and staff, they can easily end up losing motivation or not caring enough to produce a lot of content after a short span of time. It happened with the blog and with facebook already, where the team was originally big and after just some time one or two people ended up in charge of everything, from what I heard. Maybe you could try to give incentive to normal users in case they provice quality content for our social media? That content could be approved by a team of your picking and then you'd have a window in the top of the screen which shows the latest contributor and gives a "thank you" message, maybe even add an item to their profile or grant them some other privilege. Of course, it's just an idea.
