Legal issues importing physical eroge to Norway

The depiction of illegal sexual activities, including those involving children, animals, necrophilia, rape, violence, or the use of force, remains illegal.

Those things are illegal practically almost anywhere in EU.

I live in UK I can't import it?

The issue with UK is they have a separate set of laws regading 'obscenity' and materials, which are obscene. By UK standards, Euphoria would be off the charts in terms of obscenity. Question is, will they care at the customs, or will they not? :makina:

Here's some advice that will work anywhere for any game:

Find a shop that sells porn where you live.  Ask them to stock the game(s) in question.  Offer to pay up front if necessary.  They should be happy to do this for you--as long as the content is legal to import.

Advantages:

  1. They're a porn stop.  Selling this stuff is their job, so they should be aware of all the applicable laws in your area.
  2. They're assuming the legal risk for you.  They may also have established protocols that help avoid unnecessary scrutiny by customs, minimizing the risk of the shipment being seized.

It worked many many times in my life. I am fine without any criminal records. The website also allows shipping to the country so obviously you can always say they allowed it.

Also it is not ignorance, there is nothing telling you that you have to read more than the product description. If the product description says nothing about child pornography there is no way of you knowing that it would be in it. You don't have to research the game, you can look at the description and buy it... that is why they are mostly there.

To put it into realistic context if I bought a Toshiba laptop and read the description... it came with child pornography on there that was not specified but all the models had it... I would just say it was not in the description therefore it was put there without it being told to me. I read the product description and nowhere I was aware that it had child pornography. There is no law saying ''Research the product in wikipedia and countless of other websites before buying''. This way you could order a phone but get child porn and what... be accused as a sex offender? No you wouldn't the description said it is a phone. Maybe we should just all stop buying anything on the internet in case it comes as child porn.

I heard people getting child porn by accident and they did not get labelled as sex offenders as they explained their situation and that it was not specified.

That is all, I made my point replying to you will be useless and pointless and I have better things to do with my time.

It doesn't work like that... You would be able to purchase every sort of shit inculding weapons and drugs lol. " I puchased a toy. I totally didn't know it was a real shotgun!" "Ok dude , sorry for the misunderstanding, you're clear"

NOPE.

Anyway, when they say that rape is prohibited tey mean that only real depiction of rapes are prohibited not fictional interpretations.

Actually if you provide proof of the sale including things like bills, STORE PAGE, ITEM PAGE and various other things you will be cleared.

No they'll start an investigation. In this case you're basically confirming you purchaesd child pornography, provided euphoria will be considered as such.

I did not see the store page but if there is no information that child pornography is included... technically he does now know it is in there as it wasn't described in the product.

He does not have to know the ages of animated girls on a cover.

Actually to add... I was once on a anime con and bought a magazine (In UK) which featured near hentai with lolis and definitely hit the child pornography mark with how strict UK rules are. The magazine was sold through in UK to me and the anime con allowed it to be there... meaning the risk seriously is not huge if a big company who does conventions let's it pass. All that it was sealed in the normal clear wrapping how most Japanese magazines with mangas inside are sealed.

With Euphoria, it would be the rape and torture images... as far as I can remember (since I dropped the game after the first h-scene) there were no lolis...

Thanks a lot for all the replies guys.

Considering the possibility of it actually being illegal, I'm not going to buy these without consulting with someone who can clear it up once and for all.

I seriously doubt it would really be an issue, Norway is a very ... accepting country, and there is rarely cases where trivial things like this leads to anything serious, but as people have stated, seeing as the chance is there it just isn't worth it. Even if it just ends up being destroyed, or I get fined, neither of those are very appealing.

I think I'll try to find a lawyer or some person who is qualified who can give me the specifics about the law, as I most likely will find other stuff in the future that I want to buy.

Well he could send the hard copy to me since p much everything 2D is legal here and I could then send it to him but I'm too lazy lol.

Yeah, in Europe you could always proxy-order through some other more lenient European country.

That's also how people get stun guns and other stuff in more sensitive countries.

Just saying a lawyer will probably tell you you shouldn't do this (because it is against the law).

Honestly, you either carry the risk (which I think is small but ultimately it still exists and needs to be considered), or you don't do it at all. Getting a lawyer involved seems like a waste of time and money, and could even have further repercussions.

Yeah it is what I am expecting.

I'm just thinking that a talk with someone who knows this stuff might be able to clear up the specifics, so I know how to handle this sort of stuff in the future. I'm not going to such lengths for these games in particular, but seeing as I am going to live in Norway and be a filthy otaku for the forseeable future, it wouldn't hurt to know exactly how things work. :makina:

So yeah, will be skipping these for the moment at least.

Most likely nothing happens, but the 1% chance is still not very appealing.
