What is considered "finishing" a Visual Novel?

In your opinion, do visual novels portray romance realistically
Ningen replied to ratboi's topic in Visual Novel Talk
The question should be whether romance is portrayed realistically in the context of the world and circumstances the game is set in. If it makes sense according to the logic of the game, then the game is a good game. -
I always read all the endings

Enjoyed the games before this one, so I obviously had to get Miburo. As usual sofmap offered the best extras. Four extras in addition to the artbook and short soundtrack of the first press edition. Namely a wallscroll, two shikishi and an Okita Souji drama disc. If you want to see some pics of what I bought, look into the spoiler below Backlogs and real life are a thing, so I am planning to finish this game by 2030

Where and how do you purchase your visual novels?
Ningen replied to Tamaki Sakura's topic in Visual Novel Talk
For Japanese games Physical: online with amiami.com, amazon.co.jp global shipping, proxy shipping from japanese stores etc Digital: Dlsite, dmm, etc. For English localized ones Physical: backed some Kickstarters for the boxes Digital: bought some bundles from the humble store and similar sites because they were cheap Usually playing in Japanese, so the English ones are pretty much decorations (haven't even bothered to download most of the English digital ones). -

Fan Translation of VN are Legal?-and Licence Spanish Question-
Ningen replied to Usuario-1998's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Modifying your files is most likely considered legal in theory. However you are using a patch with pirated content in it for that. If you were just modifying valiues there wouldn`t be much of a problem. Sometimes on forums there are rules that only allow small patches without any CGs etc i.e. parts of the game in them. However the script is also a part of the game. Sure it's only a few kb, but printed it's a whole book. Sharing a script is no different from sharing CGs. Which is why distributing translation patches is illegal. You can't just distribute parts of the game, even if modified. While I doubt you will get sued for pirating because of a patch, it's no different from pirating parts of the game. Translation patches contain the script, which as said, is part of the game. Yes, DLsite is an official site. -
Fan Translation of VN are Legal?-and Licence Spanish Question-
Ningen replied to Usuario-1998's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Read the last part of the title as Spanish Inquisition. Mildly disappointed. You questions is whether a patch becomes legal when you bought the original game. Whether you bought the game or used an illegal copy of the game is irrelevant for that. If you steal four winter tyres and use them on a stolen car it's the same as if using them on a car you bought. Whether you bought the game or also downloaded it "illegally" is irrelevant for the legal status of the patch. You can't just translate a book and then publish it for free. What you are doing by patching your legally bought game is buying a book cutting out the pages and putting the unlicensed translation in the book cover. It doesnt magically make the unlicensed translation of the book legal. However depending on the laws of your country there is a grey zone for digital data about "stealing" and then using it. Sharing translations, music etc. i.e intelectual property you dont own is obviously illegal. Downloading and using it is the famous grey zone people talk about. No idea about the laws in your country about said "grey zone" If downloading and then playing a game is illegal in your country, then downloading a patch with a bought copy is illegal as well. You are using stolen tyres on your legally bought car (Unless stealing cars and tyres is a grey zone in your country ) Buying one thing doesnt make stealing another thing legal. It's just not as wrong, from a moral standpoint. Japanese companies usually don't care about realeasing their works for the west. Their VNs are released by western companies. And there are in fact cases were fantranslations have been used as base for an official translation. The big problem is, why would someone buy a fantranslation if they can get it for free -
I dont intend to use fakku's services and never really used fakku before either (they were shit before they went commercial as well) but let me summarize for those unfamiliar with fakku: the hate for fakku stems from how they once hosted stuff for free (illegally) like sadpanda etc but then they went commerical bought licenses and then they demanded other sites to take down everything they now own people hate fakku for pretty much the same reasons they hate crunchyroll at first they were free and didnt give one shit about copyright but once they went commercial copyright suddenly started to matter way too much drama in the western scene for me pro-tip: learn Japanese

Those prices are alright. Go for it, if you want some of the games.

The blog linked as source usually posts them every month. Check Here The blogger takes the rankings from the Tech Gian magazine.

Their stories have nothing to do with each other. The order in which you play them is irrelevant.

https://vndb.org/t6559 Should work with the ITH version linked there.

I try not to talk about it too much, but... I am actually a direct descendant of Kaiser Franz Visual Ferdinand Novel the First.

You can't exactly give a general answer to that. Some are good, some are bad. For example I really enjoyed the Sakura Taisen series which has Mecha and RPG Elements If you prefer games like Wanko to Lily, there's Sakura Musubi by Cuffs if you like the arstyle in Subahibi you can try Sakura no Uta drawn by the same artists It really depends on your preferences.

What are you reading? Untranslated edition
Ningen replied to Funnerific's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Read 炎の孕ませ転校生 and こんな娘達におもいっきり射精したい -ある美少女戦士達の変態願望- while the forum was down. Synopsis for The game is quite simple you have 40 days, everyday you can go to 2 places during lunch and 2 after-school. Meet enough times with every girl until you can sex her. Some girls have to be sexed before others etc. Looking at the play time on vndb this seems like a short Nukige. Ensnaring 22 girls takes quite some time, this is definitely of medium length. Most of the 22 girls were quite likeable and give you some nice slice-of-life, some sex scenes were animated, fully voiced by like 5 VAs(for 22 People)... I'm giving this game a perfect 5/7 Synopsis for こんな娘達におもいっきり射精したい -ある美少女戦士達の変態願望 Pretty straight-forward Nukige. 5 sex scenes and 2 Endings for every girl. 2 extra scenes with several of the girls. Total of 400+ CGs CGs are typical Saberfish work, the looping moans aren't even that bad(except for some Haruka ones...), nice bodebaras, only two locations(bedroom and bathroom), Hotaru is best girl. A perfect 5/7 Saberfish Nukige. ... If you want to see something scary look at this HCG from 炎の孕ませ転校生 -
Hikari no Umi no Apeiria Released (Any Walkthroughs?)
Ningen replied to shuak's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Basically the whole thing revolves around some kind of super realistic VRMMO. Instead of meeting everyday at a club after school, you meet online in game Instead of being trapped in a magical world, people can't log out of a game Instead of going to some public toilet in a park, people have sex online Instead of real elves, you have your friends playing as elves in a game etc. It's nothing new, but with VR becoming a reality the setting has become popular again. (the game itself is still a VN, you usually dont actually play the MMO parts) Edit: just remembered, even Yu-Gi-Oh had something like this -
Hikari no Umi no Apeiria Released (Any Walkthroughs?)
Ningen replied to shuak's topic in Visual Novel Talk
It stands for a Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Game. Meaning such a game has a huge part in the story. If not with with VNs, you should have heard of some anime that use such a setting (.hack, Swort Art Online, Accel World etc.) -
Maybe you will find something here.
