sanahtlig
The developers of the Sakura series are finally creating games which provide both ample amounts of fanservice and an interesting, worthwhile storyline to go along with it. Hardcore Gamer: Sakura Fantasy Chapter 1 Review Also check out Satsuki's glowing review: (NSFW) Tales of the perverted swordwoman - Random Review - Sakura Fantasy Chapter 1 I will just say one thing... pour more money into Winged Cloud's pocket... [this game is] much better.

Down
I don't see no pigeon nor magical-girl transformations here. What is this. You're totally not seeing two global mods trashing a serious topic here. Nope. Stray Cat, Loco15, Rose and 3 others

Darklord Rooke
Good story, or A story? At first glance it looks like typical and cliche'd shounen storytelling including a medieval and European setting. Reminds me of Fault Milestone One, which incorporates anime style storytelling in a medieval world, but those people probably do it much better than Winged Cloud. Don't get me wrong the inclusion of an actual story is a step forward, I just don't believe you when you say it's "good." It's also incredibly short, so they inserted a story of ... dubious quality, and instead cut play time.

Well, that said, the story itself, yeah, can be considered "good" (at least better than their previous games), but the way they developed the story totally rekt it. Kendjin
Isn't this also the game where they are reaching out for someone to make the patch to patch in all their H content too. H = Good game?
Clephas
*gasps* Kendjin is alive?!!! On another note... seriously? Paying ten dollars for an hour of reading?
Deep Blue
*gasps* Kendjin is alive?!!! On another note... seriously? Paying ten dollars for an hour of reading? why not? I would definitely pay for narcissu 10 dollars without any doubt, I've paid for planetarian 10 bucks and it is really short, the length doesnt make the game better or worst. sanahtlig
it’s too early in the morning for detecting sarcasm on the internet I'll give you a hint: take a look at the quote from Satsuki's article in context. The scary thing is: there's no smoke and mirrors with the first quote. They actually said that. And probably even meant it. Their main gripe with the game seemed to be length, otherwise they likely would've given it a good score.
Conjueror
Oh my god, the writing of those guys in Winged Cloud makes even this look good in comparison. If this is an indication of where the linguistic arts are going, we'll be reading stuff written in cavemen paintings in another fourty years. Zenophilious
Seriously, though, that's incredible. I thought they'd just be content with shoveling C-grade PG-13 fanservice into the arms of their ignorant customers.
AaronIsCrunchy
Yeah, bought this a few days ago and played through in a couple of sittings. I'm not gonna lie, I enjoyed it, but there were definitely some bits where the sheer volume of fanservice caused fits of giggles. I mean, a slime which eats all fabric and armour leaving the wearer naked? COME ON GUYS
Wonderfullyevil
I don't know what's more baffling, how Winged Cloud made a good story; or how a game of theirs is praised for having a good story.
AaronIsCrunchy
I don't know what's more baffling, how Winged Cloud made a good story; or how a game of theirs is praised for having a good story. Probably the latter. It's difficult to shake off a stigma with something vaguely solid. I haven't played any of their other VNs, but the feeling I'm getting from here is don't... or at least expect utter crap.
sanahtlig
I mean, a slime which eats all fabric and armour leaving the wearer naked? COME ON GUYS That's a standard eroge trope featured in a zillion (much better) games. It's usually a prelude to penetration followed by insemination and subsequent ejection of new slime progeny. See the Venus Blood series for notable examples. AaronIsCrunchy
Zalor
Don't get me wrong the inclusion of an actual story is a step forward, I just don't believe you when you say it's "good." Guy's you aren't seeing the true brilliance of what Winged Cloud is doing here. They are cleverly setting the bar so low, that with each subsequent sequel, the Sakura games can only improve. By gathering great publicity thought the notoriety of the first few games, they will shock us with the Shakespeare level quality they are saving for their last game. There's a limit to the growth that can be achieved unless 2-year-olds were employed at the outset. And if they continue on this trajectory, their "Shakespeare quality" last work will be a haiku sold for $10.
