Well, uh, if you have a USB auto sex sleeve then you can adjust the speed of it there, and ... "enjoy" the H-scenes even more. I'm not sure if that was something that they sold with the original Libra, or if this was some kind of special item sold with the localized version. Either way, if you don't have the sleeve, they I wouldn't worry about that setting. If you do have one... then go nuts.

Why can I only give a post one like. If I ever write something in English about beef stew and someone translates it to Japanese, I hope they'd do me the common courtesy of translating my beef stew as "nikujaga" instead of writing "beef stew" in katakana. Regarding numerals, AP and Chicago (and probably the others) agree that numbers ten and under should almost always be written out, and certainly in this case. I've seen this kind of thing in Little Busters as well, and I wonder if it's because of some ambiguity in the fapanese (maybe 晴れ?). I remember fred saying he'd actually made the same mistake himself, too. Also low budget stuff where there aren't enough HCGs to show the progression of the actual written scene are the worst. That's usually cost cutting rather than downright errors though, as said earlier in the thread.

Even worse when CGs spoil the events that come several lines after they appear. I usually don't care when CGs don't follow the text very closely, but these moments usually irritate me.

We've since updated the VN portion of the site to directly link to the project page. I saw @littleshogun and @novurdim mention volumes, and this was just a byproduct of that book system. We've updated the about us page to more accurately reflect our company goals. I have had the exact same complaints as most of you, which is the main reason for starting this company up. You guys can ask me any questions. As long as it's not confidential, I am more than willing to answer anything! Also, if you're wondering why I don't have a picture up on the about us page yet, it may be because I'm ugly and am getting some professional photos taken tomorrow to try to hide that.

I disagree. I think a CG helps paint the initial picture of the scene, then you can use that as a base to let your imagination + the writing do the rest. As the text changes, you still have that initial image of what was going on, and you can now more easily picture the rest of the scene unfolding. In my opinion, that's what a CG is supposed to do.

Sure, but that wasn't my point. If the text is describing one thing but the CG shows another it is very distracting and makes the reader too conscious. It's best to stop showing the CG as soon as the text changes to something else.

Most of the time the CGs or the backgrounds don't really reflect what is happening in reality. They are there to give you an idea. In most vns you'll see an image of one thing while the text says something else entirely. Like an image of some people holding hands but the text already moved on to describe how the characters slap each other. It's annoying but every vn does that.

I'll bring up the idea of a prefundia/ks delay with the sakura sakura team and original creators tomorrow. If you see anything we need to improve on regarding the website and content we just put out, please be sure to let me know! It'd be great to fix something early before it becomes habit.

Sometimes the writers of the game never see the CG until after they've wrote the game, and this can lead to inconsistencies when translated directly (and, since I don't want to start that argument, just know that if people want a literal translation, they will get it, even if it doesn't match what's going on). This happens a number of times in Shadows of Pygmalion, especially when it came to describing (spoiler) These sorts of inconsistencies do occur when the writers and artists aren't working together, and since creative rewrites are often looked down upon, they just remain there.

My suggestion is to launch the campaign after doing a Prefundia page and having more material to show now in the beginning of the process. An out of nowhere Kickstarter may not be the best way to start, since your brand is still not known, and a Prefundia page would be the better way to show costumers what you intend to do and create trust and receive constructive feedback.

Holy smokes, I haven't heard about Black Cat in a while. A friend I knew in high school use to love that anime too, but sadly I never got around to watching it. I probably will once my PTW is cleared. (Oh man, remember the days when Gonzo made good anime?) But I hear ya, I had a very similar experience with Karin. I started watching this anime around the time I was hitting up random Chatango rooms asking for recommendations to satisfy a newfound rom-com craze I developed after watching Toradora, and Karin was one of the anime suggested to me. Watched it, loved it, thought rom-coms were the greatest things in existence, then I moved on to others in the genre and became even more obsessed, and eventually I lost my innocence after watching Clannad. But Karin always stood out to me in its own unique way and never really left my mind (it still hasn't). So eventually I decided to check out the manga about 2 years later and I pretty much came to the same conclusion as you did with Black Cat. There were some key plot elements that were kept in the adaption, but it differed so much from the source to the point that the atmospheres on opposite ends of the spectrum. The version of Karin I viewed in the anime was light-hearted, sweet, and every bit a 2006 rom-com anime. The mangaka even requested that the adaption have its own original character who would compete with the protagonist in a love triangle. The manga, however, did not have any love rivals, and it was a lot more thick in the way the story was told. It was dark, and it had a bittersweet ending that completely threw me for a loop. It was very interesting though, and definitely a lot more thought-provoking than the adaption. To me, they were both very good on their own merits, and I'd probably still enjoy the anime if I ever decided to re-watch it. And wouldn't you know it, both our anime aired right around the same time frame. I guess anime producers back then had little to no care at all about sticking to the source back then, which might be a reason their work tends stand out a little more. Not to say they aren't enjoyable, or even great for that matter. But I still get the impression that anime producers have picked up some nasty habits by playing it safe and avoiding risky creativity. Ya know, I'd have a hard time arguing against that myself since I've never really enjoyed an anime that I've read the source material for. Hell, even with Shokugeki no Souma, which I started out watching the anime, but then I got super hyped and started reading ahead in the manga. Once I read a fair amount of the manga, I stopped caring about the anime, lol. I guess it does have that kind of affect on ya. That being said, whenever I didn't like an adaption, it's usually one that isn't viewed very favorably, so it might just be coincidence on my part. Now while there is a fair bit of division on this subject, some of the people that read Koe no Katachi beforehand were praising the movie and claiming it to be better than the source. And the only arguments I read opposing this viewpoint basically mentioned scene removal, but no one ever really expanded on why that bothered them so much.

Degica isn't really what I'd call "good", though...
