And if so, what will negative effects will it have on the world around him? One day after a mysterious dream, a series of mischievous events appear before his eyes. Could these events possibly be foretelling the abilities that he has yet to acquire? Follow Joto as he stumbles upon a mysterious black orb and the chance of a lifetime, the ability to change his past and future. A visual inspired by games and anime like Shin Megami Tensei, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Gantz, and many others! Characters Joto The main protagonist of the story. Has made some regretful decisions, will he ever fix them? Mystery Man The mysterious individual that Joto sees in his crazy dreams. Arabella Joto's love interest and secondary protagonist. Jed Joto's annoying boss. How could he put up with such a guy? Bob Bob, a very very evil person. Better to stay away from the likes of him. All these characters have been hand drawn with colored pencil, so they may look a little rough. They they WILL change eventually as the project goes on.   8. Hey, all! The Anomaly is a commercial English Visual Novel project that my colleagues and I at Annexe Interactive have been developing for a while now. The game centers around a high school student and his friends after a mysterious anomalous phenomenon occurs suddenly in the sky above Colorado Springs. It will contain minigame and player-choice elements and will include elements of mystery, conspiracy, and various historical and scientific concepts including American Government and Quantum Theory. The game is estimated to be released sometime in late 2016. We recently launched a kickstarter campaign that we hope will provide us with the funds necessary to complete the game. While the young man and his companions don’t hold much compassion for the physical world around them, their skills in the digital one tell a different story. Tucker is a hacker, and along with his friends Ross and Valerie, he finds every opportunity he can to leave the doldrums of the real world behind and lose himself in cyberspace. Whether it’s something as silly as vandalizing the Cheyenne Mountain High School website, or as serious as tapping into secret government archives, no task is too great or small for Tucker his merry little band of tech-savvy misfits. Thank you for your consideration in advance! Backstory Last year, I attempted to make a short visual novel titled 'Carpe Diem' which I released on Steam for free. It was a small solo project I did for fun. It was more of a 'i-made-something' project that time and I really wasn't expecting much, but it surprisingly did pretty well. Until now, it sits at 91% positive feedbacks out of about 4k reviews, which for me is a pretty big deal. Over the past few months, I've gotten a lot of requests to make more of it. Inspired by these, I decided to give VN development another shot, thus the project I am currently working on which is the sequel. The following contents can be found on the Kickstarter page as well, but I'll try to expand a bit. Team Most of the negative reviews of Carpe Diem were about its assets (art, music, etc), which I admit are subpar since I'm not very good at making those. I want to overcome these shortcomings for the sequel, so I made a team and looked for people who can help me make a better product than the previous one. So far, I've found great people for my team: Editor: DJ Horn [he posts reviews on a certain blog site, and so far he's been a great help refining and polishing my narrations and dialogues] Programmer: Bonesy [he is a game developer himself but he's very proficient in Ren'Py] Sprite Artist: Sabie [DeviantArt] CG Artist: Thai Chau [DeviantArt] Backgroun Artist: Alexis [DeviantArt] Music Composer: Jonathan [he did soundtracks for indie games before but this is his first time composing for a VN] These are the positions essential for the current project. I plan the story to be about 50k words long (around 3-5 hours gameplay) but seeing how I already have 8k words written down just for the introduction part, this number may increase. I'm also thinking of putting some mini-games relevant to the game but this will be discussed later on with the programmer once and if the kickstarter campaign turns out to be successful.   11. VN Overview You may have heard the occasional theory of a potential catgirl 'dystopia' in a certain popular catgirl VN. (given that in a sense catgirls in that world could basically be seen as slaves). This visual novel will take that theory to a logical extreme in that sense. Catgirls will be used and abused negatively by humans and it will eventually turn into a rebellion/war started by those who want to fight for Catgirl rights. There will be a decent amount of realistic military action, the setting will take place in Japan (of course). At the moment, we're planning to have 3 routes. This VN at the moment is not going to have explicit H scenes. Current Project Team I'm currently the project manager of this whole VN We have the main writer who's written the major scenarios planned out, as well as a timeline (history wise) as well as a timeline that will be referred to for writing specific scenarios We have an editor who mostly reviews our scenario documents, records meetings when we have them and will likely be an editor of the VN when it's released We have a programmer who will be programming the VN through Renpy We have someone who will contribute to making music There are a few people who came up with the original idea of the VN and have helped make some character concepts. Current Progress At this point we have the major scenarios planned for this VN written out. We also have all the major characters' personalities and backstories written up in addition to a few secondary characters. We have Renpy set up and know some general ideas of how we're going to use it. Our next task, in addition to looking for art, is to start actually writing dialogue. How you act and respond to situations will affect the course of the game, some having consequences early on or may produce something unexpected later! There are many outcomes to the battle ahead, and multiple, varied endings. Why no stat points or romance bar? I found in games with points I tended to focus only on point collecting, rather than playing through as I want (even though I enjoy those games very much!). But in Courting the Seasons I wanted to minimise that and make it feel much more as though you can make a choice based on what you want, rather than what will net you the most points and have fun with the story than worry about building up stats. I haven’t really put in good and bad choices or ‘true’ endings. There are a variety of choices, which aren’t necessarily good or bad, it’s just different ways of handling outcomes, some of which will be approved of by certain people and not by others and vice versa. Each choice won’t just add to a points bar, it will have an effect and consequence in the story, maybe straight away or maybe later on. Why is this VN commercial? Though I would love to give it out for free, I am self-employed and will be focusing full time on this VN. I'm hoping to move into this as my main career path Are there any warnings for this game? Okay, prescribed drugs from doctors that are necessary are fine. S T O R Y Utopia has long since ended. Confined in walls that have yet to be broken through, people join factions trying to survive another day in a decaying city with limited resources. There is hardly a day of silence, a day where a cry rings out through the streets in the middle of the night. There is a constant fight for power, for influence, for authority. The one in control changes every other month, the rules changing even more so frequently. This is the story of one particular moment in the carnage. Of when a drug known as Treats started to circulate through the system. Of when questions were no longer whispered and instead roared at the front lines. Where one girl who was born and raised in this society learned to aim for the throat when you wanted - needed - something. Follow Meri as she casts away the little that remained of her, stumbling across the truth as she pursues for revenge. The Jungle A large and sprawling metropolitan city that remains held up with a thin thread, seemingly ready to crumble at any given moment. This fragile place is where the populace reside for the eternity of their lives. The city has a turbulent structure of varying societies, groups and gangs that wish to hold more power than the other. This division causes districts to be made, though they are constantly swapping ownership as the feud continues among those of relatively equal standing with no clear winner. A large wall, without a single entrance or exit in sight, cages the city. Very few remember the official name of old for what this crumbling city used to be. Among the folk tales and mysteries of what this now rubble filled city used to be, the name, history, and events that unfolded to cause this current state only remain speculated. The Wall No one has been able to come or go ever since they could remember, the wall that towers high and encompassing the entirety of the city preventing such things. Attempts to traverse the wall has been made, though incredibly unsuccessful with rather strange and gruesome results. The peculiar circumstances and the blood stains hidden among the graffiti on the wall remains a foreboding reminder that there is something very wrong, and a kind of warning against those that hold suicidal pursuits. Treats The exact source of this increasingly popular drug remains unknown. Some have speculated it originated in the humble abode of a stumbling druggie who decided to mix and match for the next best high, others believe that it was the results of a laboratory of some scientific mad man, while there are a few hushed whispers that the remains of the government are to blame - seeking the power they once had. It seems that conspiracy theories weren't one of the things lost after the breaking up of the society from before most could recall. Not all of the effects of this mystery drug is yet known as it is still quite new. Effects seem to vary among consumers, though heightened senses, thought processing and strength seems to be a common symptom. Questioning consumers result in varying reactions - some proclaiming it to have changed their lives, saying that every other drug is put to shame by it, while others vehemently believed it to be the tool of the devils. A drug shrouded in mystery, yet so fervently produced, trafficked and consumed. It's sudden popularity caused a major shift of power within the rather chaotic and ever changing hierarchy, causing the downfall of some while allowing others influence that they could only ever imagine. F A C T I O N S The Royals Debatably the oldest society with a long history dating back before the fall of the society of the old. However, these records remain a secret and guarded like a jealous mistress as anyone outside the higher ranked remain ignorant of the apparently prestigious background. Though their numbers had consistently remained minimal as members were restricted to those of the same blood, they managed to hold power with their horded knowledge and their rather smart distribution of said knowledge. However, their small district had since been consumed by the growing gang known as the Red Caps, the members scattered and mostly believed imprisoned or dead. The Code Blues This neutral party remains a pacifist group. Neither are they particularly wealthy, nor do they have access to military resources. However, they remain through the support of many other groups and anyone that dare cause trouble with them would instigate a war among the other groups. Holding some of the brightest doctors and greatest knowledge when it comes to keep someone with multiple gun shot wounds alive, they remain a vital part to keeping everyone from permanently killing each other by providing aid between each battle. The Trade A merchant group that has an extended range of dealings, though they are most known and requested for their arms trade. With particularly sharp wit and high levels of intrigue, they manage to remain an influential power through back handed dealings and selectively partnering with other groups to warn or outright wipe out any potential threats. The Shroud Not much is known about the shroud. There are plenty of whispers and rumours that surround them. About how they seem to appear from no where, seeping in among the left remnants of a since over conflict. How they collect the bodies, leaving not even a whisper of what used to be life behind. How they evolved into an urban legend as the grim reapers as nothing ever remained, not even those that were known to be simply heavily injured instead of dead. Yet, somehow, these resources never seem to appear again, even within the many branches of the black market. The Red Caps One of the younger, but more powerful group. Rising in the scene with a questionably large stock of Treats, they had managed to gain exponential support and influence. Not much is entirely known of their policies due to the lack of any defined leadership. However, their ruthless dash and climb in power has given them a worrying reputation of doing anything for their goals, whatever they may be. Their district as of recent years haven't had particularly defined borders. Ever since the Red Caps had monopolized the market of Treats, their pursuit for expanding the areas under their control has increased several worrying folds. Though there is not a moment of peace or quiet within the streets of this district, the main building which acts a sort of headquarters for the higher in hierarchy. But none of that cocaine, ice, cool kid stuff plz. C H A R A C T E R S Meri Lambert | Royals Faction She believed herself invincible. She trusted her faction's invincibility. She thought herself to be more than she was. She was simply a naive child who had yet faced the sirens of reality. She learned that the world's tough love really was the fastest way to learn. She threw away what she once was for something she may never have or become. Cimon | Factionless He was there for you after the downfall of your family. He was the one that taught you how to survive without the faction's protection. He was the one to teach you about the various other districts. He was the one you had underestimated. Cimon is a seemingly happy-go-lucky and free spirited individual. Easy to hand out smiles, you question how he is able to trust others to easily and yet remain relatively well off. He just kind of seems rather naive and idealistic. However, he proves to be resourceful and hold a high level of awareness of the circumstances around him. With a understanding of the various different factions and their movements, you can't help but wonder why no one had already nabbed the guy. He would have been such a useful member after all. It really did seem rather strange. Gil | Trade Faction He lectures about peace as he gives warmongers bombs. He moarns the fallen as he accepts money from a murderer. He confesses his regrets and apologizes as he fires the gun in his hand. He signs the contract ensuring the death of many. He gives aide and resources to the neutral, saving their lives. He hates those he love, he loves those he hate. He's a hypocrite and he knows it. You haven't quite managed to grasp his personality. Through the layers of facades, the faces of professionalism and compassion, the acts of horror and delight - you just can't quite say definitely what type of person he is. An image of an upright man who's only wrongs are due to circumstance and an unfair world, you know it is simply a mask and in a way you wish to never have to see what is hidden beneath that rather careful construct. Aric | Royals Faction What's the blood that flows through their veins to the shared red dyed stains? What's a friend in a world of lies? What's a promise against the memories? What's an apology shackled with regret? What's a boy with questions that he doesn't wish an answer for? What waits past the end? Aric was someone you would tentatively call a friend. With the trials of time you've grown distant. The connection never truly lost, but there's just something no longer there. A closeness that you remembered from back when you were kids, desperately faking a childhood that they could never have. Following the faction's fall, you find yourself wondering where he is and questioning the rather peculiar circumstances around him. After all, only those that shared the same blood were meant to be allowed in the Royals, yet you are absolutely certain he fails to meet that very simple criteria. Jackie | Red Caps Faction He's felt the sweet caresses of joy, pure bliss with the feeling as if he could take on anything in the world. He's felt the tightening choke of sorrows, whispering lies that became his one and only truth. He's endured the shakes of rage, the physical pain he felt as he had to restrain himself. He knew far to well the damages fueled by humans fickleness. You struggle to describe him. He's just so- invisible, for the lack of a better word. In a way, it's actually a little disturbing. You don't know where he's from, what motives drive him, what actions he plans to take next. You notice how he seems to be able to simply disappear within a crowd or even in a desolate area without a single soul. However, one thing is for certain, you know that won't last long. The unsettling feeling that blankets you, a foreboding calm before a storm, that tilt of a smirk when he's lost in thought. Ihsan | Code Blue Faction He holds the needle like a knife, an apathy for each injection like a serial murderer who's grown bored. He binds the bandages like a noose slowly coiling around his own neck, suffocating him as the begs for a savior drown him. He's neutral, he doesn't take sides. He's long forgotten to care. A cloud of fatigue follows him, his actions sluggish and tired. The bags under his eyes don't go unnoticed, and his rather short and and general lack of enthusiasm reminds you of a corpse walking. However, you recall the stories of the heroes from the Code Blue faction. Their pursuit for pacifism, their incessant need to save lives. No one would join such a faction without having cared before. Right? Zeph | ??? Faction He hugs the gun like a child hugs their toys after a nightmare. He lies curled in the ash and rubble as if they were a safety blanket that would protect him from everything. He treats the serenades of gunfire like a lullaby, welcoming a dream that is soon to come. A dream he had long held, a dream that he had been pushed to his knees for. A large grin on a face splattered with blood. The gunshots that surround him, the blood that paves the streaks of death around him. You question the cheerful joking nature of his as whatever conversation you have with him seem to hold no direction, and yet you know he is far from lost as he avoids any talk about factions, Treats, the wall, and the coming future that lays ahead. "Hey, do you know why the sky changes colour? I've always thought it strange. You know, how such a big and encompassing thing could be so fickle. Yet, all our blood remains red no matter how far from human we get. Hey-- I wonder what colour the sky is outside the jungle." No matter the circumstances, illicit drugs would probs make it much shittier.   20. Character Trailer Hey everyone! My name is Joy and I'm the director of Spherical Studios, an Indie Game Company just starting out. Our first game is a Visual Novel by the name Wingdaria Destiny. We have a brand new demo right here! It's about 30 min long and gives a good feel for the game. Our Visual Novel is currently running on Kickstarter - The Kingdom of Wingdaria - In a medieval world where technology has only just recently seen the light of day and where no miracles can be created from hands; each and every person has to work hard for their daily bread. Sadly, the kingdom is moving into an economic crisis and the people of Wingdaria fear the worst is still to come. However, rumors say that if the princess of Wingdaria marries the prince of Rosenheim, the nation will prosper once again. Hope still remains, for the kingdom and its people, but will their wish come true? - Plot - Evan, the protagonist of our story, is a young man, who felt little purpose in life, as he lost his sight due to a terrible fate. Although recently, he has found hope again, as he has developed feelings for the lovely Princess Aria, who was kindhearted enough to save him from the streets of Arkenwall. Undoubtedly, they have become quite close, but an arranged marriage between Princess Aria and the Prince of Rosenheim will tear the couple apart. Can they escape their fate and reach the freedom they so wish for? None of the children met each other while being kidnapped. All 15 children were released around the world when the project totally failed. This project was called Project Nostalgia. All 15 children were separated and has not seen each other since then. Ten years later, upon leaving her school Alice experiences a side effect of the experiments that were performed on her, momentarily causing her great pain and a sudden state of unconsciousness. In her dreams, Alice sees herself locked in a room, with no escape. Alice is being told she has 10 minutes to escape or else, she would die. The game talks about the Multi-Universe theory, each Nostalgia features a heavy, deep and cruel story. There's Violence, Murder, Heavy language, and strong references. This is a game aimed to 16+. -Characters- Both worlds Alices! Please, I'd like to hear your honest opinion so far. This is a professional game, for both PC & Console. A few question that I'd to ask: -So far, are you happy with the graphics? Yes/No? Why? -If we ever release a Kickstarter, you think you would support it? Why? -The game is a Visual Novel, however we're implementing puzzles zones (just like VLR/999) and a 1v1 battle system (complementary to the story). How does this make you feel? -There is high violence, nudes, murder. Would you still like to play it? -As we before, we're doing our best to bring full interactive experience.   22. Project Cookies n' Cream We spent so much of our lives playing them, replaying them and trying to unlock every single CG. So much so that producing our very own Visual Novel has always been something we wanted to do for a long time now. The Team has always wanted to recreate the splendour; the excitement of uncovering new plots lines and artistic wonders for you, the Visual Novel community. We are looking to create a world that you can immerse yourself in, and we hope that you'll enjoy the process together with us. We are finally ready to start production on the title, codenamed "Project Cookies n' Cream", and we are glad to share with you the first glimpse, via a sketch, of one of the characters in the world. She is an 19 year old assassin for hire. Will Liz be able to escape the grasp of the underworld, or will she ascend above her oppressors? You decide her fate in my visual novel. Claire, Heiress A young girl, Claire is the daughter of a wealthy and influential family. Her doe-eyed innocent look hides the fact that she is genetically enhanced to be extremely intelligent. Does this come at a cost?
  23. My team, Alienworks, is going to be releasing a short yuri VN in a couple months. I'm a little bit late on the whole thread creation thing, since we announced the project back in September, but what can ya do? So first off about us, then I'll get to the good parts. As you might know, Alienworks has another project going on, The Human Reignition Project, which you can see in my signature. That's our main game. HB was a side project started by myself and one of the other writers, and is way smaller in scope. That other writer is Syon, Setsuna's writer for HRP. Then we have Jake Abernathie and Anna Logue composing the soundtrack, with our programmer Kevin Turner putting everything together. Art is handled by Rosuuri, Shiyun and Myuto, who also work on HRP. Badriel is doing the backgrounds, and we also have a number of CG's being completed by Weee/Raemz, best known for her work on Katawa Shoujo. While they're both a little bit lacking, we have a VNDB entry as well as our own website. Here's our little blurb about the project, taken from the Steam Greenlight page, which should be up in the next week or so. Developed by Alienworks, Highway Blossoms is a short lesbian (or "yuri") story set in the American Southwest. After an old gold rush miner's journal is discovered, supposedly detailing where he hid parts of his stash, a nationwide craze begins as would-be prospectors try to solve its clues and strike it rich. Amber couldn't care less. Wandering the desert in a recently-inherited motorhome, she mourns the loss of her grandfather - indifferent and unaware to the hunt happening around her. It's not until she meets Marina, a young hitchhiker lost in New Mexico that the girls get swept up in the rush. A tribute to music and Americana, Highway Blossoms is a linear visual novel experience. With an emphasis on romance and adventure, the game is sometimes somber and sometimes silly. We hope to write a game that both long-time VN fans and newcomers to the medium can enjoy, as well as a fun contribution to the yuri genre. Right now, we're hoping to have the game out in mid-April, though it's still a bit too early to announce a definite release date. We've got a first draft of the script done, as well as all the backgrounds, half the soundtrack, half the CG's and a few of the sprites. All the other things are moving along pretty quickly though. When it's done, it'll be on Steam with a free uncensor patch available, or alternatively you can get the DRM-free adult version on Denpasoft. It's not an eroge or anything like that, but there are a couple sex scenes. The emphasis is on romance and adventure though. Similar to what we did for the HRP demo, we're going to be putting together a guest art gallery for anyone who might want to participate. The story takes place in Madrid, Spain, as the main character is a veteran senior officer from the Policía Nacional.
