  2. Hello everyone! Today I wanted to share with you the VN I've been working on with some friends. After that, i wanted to share the peculiar history behind the development, as we've had many questions that can only be answered by asking you directly. It is important to us that you give us your feedback, whether you like the project or not (especially if you don't!): “Rejoice, brothers and sisters, for The Answer has been proclaimed. Blessed be those who know how to listen.” -Nova City foundation chronicles In a world torn apart by crisis, war and hunger, our old leaders faced a dilemma: either find an answer to the conflict or leave humanity to its imminent destruction. They chose the answer. But this answer was not found, it was built. Nova City, humanity´s new hope Nova City is a vibrant symbol of hope and progress. It stands over the ruins of the war-torn world we left behind. Bursting with life and commerce, it seems unthinkable that the city itself is also a massive computer built to house “The Answer”: a system created to govern in the most rational and optimized way, excluding humanity from the exercise of political power. The Answer has brought prosperity to Nova City, and its citizens have lived devoid of major conflicts for over two centuries. Inside an apartment of this city, you wake up to find a tarot card that someone must have slipped under your door. The message is clear: The Fortune Teller has chosen you as the next victim. Afraid to leave your apartment, you rush to your computer to make a call that will change the lives of many people (or even end them) as the delicate balance of power in the city begins to shift. Embark on this noir tale of mystery and intrigue that will pit humanity’s reason against our own inevitable emotional nature. Game & Features From the start, you have locked yourself in your apartment to hide from the serial killer called "The Fortune Teller". In such a predicament, you’ll be interacting with Nova City and its people through your computer’s screen. From your computer, you’ll be able to make calls, tap into people’s phones and gain access to confidential information. You’ll also be able to hack into security systems in order to, for example, tail someone through traffic light’s camera feeds. During the course of the story, you’ll be able to create alliances with Nova City’s most important factions, gaining powerful friends (and enemies) in the process. Hacklist is currently being developed for PC/Mac. Features: Emotion Compass: Allows you to see how people feel, and how their emotional state changes as you touch certain topics. This will allow you to call bluffs, understand people better, push them to act in certain ways or set the mood for intimate conversations. Profiler: You'll have access to police reports for everyone you speak to. The profiler updates itself as new events unfold, and will give you some insights and hints about your contact's personality, letting you know how people may react differently to the same emotions. Hacklist also presents some new mechanics to the usual VN structure in the form of Apps you can use at any time during your experience: Skall: A videochat app where most dialogues/scenes will happen. Watermelon News: A social network where you'll be able to read people's posts and Nova City News. Remote.hack: Access networks, hack into security cameras, tap phones, and get into other people's computers to reveal their darkest secrets. The story behind the story... (and how your opinion will decide the changes we'll make) So! We're a team of 6 living and working in Caracas, Venezuela. This is a project born a couple of years ago in a itch.io game jam, back when it looked like this: (and yep... that's me!) After the jam, the project leads wanted to continue the project. I couldn't at that time because of my job, so they formed Caustic Games to do it. That's how the second version of Hacklist was born. It was a much more polished product, and it had a new cyberpunk/vaporwave style. This version was approved on Square Enix Collective, where you can still play the demo. (That's Kentai on the center. They grow up so fast! *sniff*) (A screenshot of our pseudo-antagonist Clive Jackson. Remember the name, we'll come back to him in a bit!) The campaign was successful, and we received a lot of feedback that helped us detect some flaws we had. Around this time, 2 of the main artists left the project, and the remaining artist and myself (i had just joined the team) couldn't accurately replicate the previous artist's style, so we were forced to abandon a style we liked in favor of making a new one that we could handle better. Eventually, we rewrote the whole story, keeping the same characters and archetypes mostly intact. But this story was to be set in a futuristic utopia, rather than the bleak future from the previous cyberpunk setting. After some time, we decided that a futuristic Art Deco setting was perfect for the mood of future, progress and empowerment we wanted Nova City to irradiate. ...And then we hit a pretty hard roadblock: none of the characters we were designing were aesthetically cohesive with either the tone and setting, or the environment itself. So we started to make some tests on styles for the characters... ...then we made some more... ...and MORE... We finally set out to define the style and technique we would have for the in-game art, and it went down to these three versions of Clive Jackson (the guy i told you to remember from the previous version!): Aaaand that's where we stand now! we decided internally to go with the third option, as we felt the technique blended better with the background and the character was designed to resemble an Art Deco statue, from the volumetrization to the edgy style from illustrations of the 1920's, 30's and 40's. The thing is, we kind of went open minded about changing the anime style to something that better reflected the world where the story is taking place, but none of us has seen more than a handful of non-anime visual novels, and have no idea if this art style is actually appealing or if it is, on the contrary, something that would disuade readers. Here's where you come into play! We need your feedback and opinion about the project, as asking you guys directly is the only possible way for us to know we're on the right track. We would love it if you took the time to watch the concepts, mockups and screens and tell us, honestly, which images do you find more appealing, and if the current state of art style is something you might want to see in a VN. Omega Pattern seeks to offer a more personal and deeper experience in the visual novel genre. In Omega Pattern, we ‘reinvent’ the visual novel concept by giving you the opportunity to choose the main character’s personality in a prologue where you will recall his past. Every personality defines a character with his own storyline which will change as you advance on the story and keep making decisions. The results will depend on the consistency of the character and the impact that your decisions have in the world. In addition to this, the narrative style is different from other visual novels, letting you get into the main character’s head instead of being a mere spectator. We avoid the use of tedious descriptions to explain what’s happening and make use of the main character’s reactions and thoughts to make the scenes more realistic. For example, we prefer to use ‘Shit, my jaw!’ instead of ‘He punches me on the chin’.” GAMEPLAY Omega Pattern is a Visual Novel which offers a variable multiple-choice decision system. This means that both the number of decision points and the number of choices or options that you will find in those decision points may vary according to your previous decisions during the game. SYNOPSIS The world where the Omega Pattern story happens is seemingly normal, similar to the one we live in. However, genetics and fate mean that a few individuals are born with a kind of Pattern or special brain signal which lets them develop unique and varied psychic skills that are determined by their life experiences, which form their behavior and character. From the shadows, an organization known as Bioagora controls the world according to its own interests thanks to the power and influences that they get, in part, from their Agents. These Agents are people who own the Pattern and have been coerced, bought, forced and even captured against their will to be brainwashed and indoctrinated, so they can faithfully serve the Bioagora. Shaiel (21 years old), a man who possesses the Pattern, has found himself forced to live in secrecy in order to avoid falling into the hands of the Bioagora. However, as time passes, it gets more difficult to escape from a power which is increasing exponentially. Seeking for allies has become an unavoidable, and it seems that the only alternative available are the Celtas; a small and poorly organized group with unorthodox methods, whose plan to face the Agents and restoring an order different to the Bioagora’s seems near impossible. As the rest of the population stay impassive in a gray world, Shaiel will have Shaiel to play his cards right and find out the truth hidden by the Bioagora, the Celtas and himself. THE FINAL PART: WHY KICKSTARTER? This Kickstarter campaign expects to get funding for the big final part of the visual novel. Borokai Studio is an indie group and Omega Pattern is his first indie visual novel. Besides being indie, Omega Pattern intends to be a very long visual novel (+40 hours). It’s impossible to afford this kind of project by an indie group without economic support, and here’s where the first part of Omega Pattern appears. We covered the first part expenses and released it without Kickstarter, Patreon or any kind of crowdfunding campaign because we wanted to show you the main concept of Omega Pattern (a visual novel where you define the main character’s personality and Pattern) before using this kind of resources. Omega Pattern is not an episodic visual novel. Our current intention is to release DLCs and bundles with the full Beast, King and Astral routes. The decisions you make in the first part give you access to these routes, but they won’t affect their course. This means that you don’t have to replay the first part again when we release the routes DLCs. The decision system that we’ll use for the routes won’t allow us to separate them into more parts since we want that every decision you make can cause an impact on the story as it advances as well as in the endings. Every route will be different and we’d like to give them an estimated duration of 12 hours or more. But don't worry, if we don't manage to fund the final part in this campaign, we will divide the final part into several DLCs depending on the amount pledged by the bakers and we will relaunch a new Kickstarter campaign with a lower goal in order to release the next Omega Pattern's DLC. COST BREAKDOWN Art (35%): Over 85 CGs, 85 BGs, 8 new major characters and several minor characters. We could decrease the number of BGs and increase the number of CGs. Writing and Translation (30%): The original Omega Pattern's script is written in Spanish and we will have to cover an English professional translation. If we reach it, we will try to improve the visual novel with these stretch goals. 38.000€: MORE ART. Over 100 CGs and 100 BGs. We'd like to announce our Kickstarter project on Fuwanovel. It's called Minotaur, and it's a crossover between visual novel and point and click adventure/puzzle game.   11. A collaborative group of friends and I decided one summer's day to begin creating a visual novel like no other. Turmoil of the Seven is a sci-fi RPG visual novel that takes seven factions of cultures widely known around the world, and places them in a futuristic, but chaotic universe. The protagonists of the Visual Novels depend on which of the four characters you would choose to pick. Tristen Talon, Ryou Hidekari, and Heinz Ritter are currently the three protagonists we have right now, the fourth protagonist is still being decided. The seven factions in the game are: The Alliance of Free Systems, The Honorable Shogunate of Hidekari, The Imperium of Weisslande, The Holy Mandate of Alvan, The Absolute and Royal Systems of Arthuria, The Galacian Empire of Alyssandria, and finally, The Union of Ursan Republics. These seven factions are the primary forces in the game right now, while we are currently creating minor factions that will be somewhat nomadic during gameplay.   12. Website (Intro and download) Hello, TC Kain+ is an evolved form of my previous WIP VN called TC Kain which has a thread here. The reason for "plus" is that the game now runs in Unity3D and I've added space battle mini games to it. This VN is a little different from others. It has no element of anime. It is not about relationships. It is about war and politics as well as life and death based on a sci-fi world I've created. I've built this world based on year 9599 and wrote extensive lore to enrich the world. The title is Two Clusters Kain arc plus or, in short, TC Kain+. Story There are four main characters. Two are immediately introduced. Two others are introduced much later. Kain and Suu who are introduced at the beginning take most screentime. Kain hails from a humble beginning. As an ex-journalist working for a magazine company on Moon, he joins Sol navy just to get away from his financial hardships casued by severe recession. His goal, initially, is simply to feed himself. But he soons finds himself heavily engulfed in war, politics, and women. Suu hails from a strong family. She has powerful parent and background. Having deep respect, almost to a point of being overly zealous, toward his father, she volunteers to join Sol navy to aid her father in achieving his dream. However, she soon finds that the world outside of sheltered life isn't what she thought it'd be. Third character, Juron, is introduced in chapter 6. Forth, and final, character, Magenta is introduced in chapter 8. This VN portrays their lives. Few ingame screenshots Art This VN uses exclusively CG (Computer Grahpics). I use Blender. However, due to large amount of cast, I also use stock CG assets that I purchased. You can generally tell the different on the screen from stock assets and mine unfortunately. Over time, I hope to replace them with my own. But modelling clothes, humanoid figures, and such take a loooong time. Therefore, not all characters are made in Blender and some are from stock assets. VN and its arts are inseparable. Though, in my case, it's CG art. For an example, on a screne. Before render After a quick, simple, test render Full render before being fed into GIMP for post processing Tactical mini space battle A major improvement from my previous TC Kain is an addition of mini space battles. This is the reason I decided to import my VN to Unity. There is a test battle feature where you can just try the mini game. There will be more test battles added in the future.   13. Hello fuwa community. This is PervyGames with our official announcement for our first visual novel entitled, Quantum Crusaders. Quantum Crusaders is an epic, scifi/fantasy, comedy about three brothers whom are recruited by the Cosmic Federation to fight against the forces of the Kor. The visual novel will have the choice of choosing between James Alderic Knight, Robert Knight, and David Knight. We also have a yuri route planned if we get into stretch goal territory. Progress: Writing for demo ~ 66% complete. Missing David Knight's route. Characters for demo ~ 15% complete. Using mostly placeholders for characters while we work on the story. Music for demo ~ 0% complete. Working with composer, Emanuel Abrudean on the main theme. Trailer for Kickstarter campaign ~24% done. Voice overs are done. Waiting on animation team to create the visuals for the anime trailer. Also waiting on Emanuel for main theme. Rewards for Kickstarter campaign ~ 0% done.     Hello! First of all, this is my second post (but is like the first one) so I want to say: hey everyone. This web is like a VN paradise, I love it haha I've been working on a Cyberpunk VN for a month, mostly on the script but I have some art already and I wanted to show it to you. Hope you like it. I have a lot more but of couse I can't post it. So, thats the art but I want to talk a bit about the story and all of that, just because this is my first VN and I'm excited about it. As is said on the title the game will have a Cyberpunk/Sci-fi thematic with some soft philosophy on it and a lot of robots. All the protagonists are girls (with a bit of Yuri even if this is not an eroge~) Right now I'm thinking about using TyranoBuilder as engine, because I don't know anything about scripting, I'm not sure if is the best option though. I'm a bit worried about the music and the translation because: even if I have experience drawing and writing, this is my first time composing music so I will upload a couple of tracks in the future and you can tell me if they are any good. And since I'm spanish, I need to translate the script but my english is nowhere near perfect, so I may need help to correct the mistakes I will make translating the script.   17. We at 7 Keys Studios have finally launched the crowdfunding campaign for Angels - our vision of a next generation SciFi VR Visual Novel. This comes in parallel to making Chapter 1 available for free on Steam. Find the media kit here. The goal of the campaign is to raise enough money to finance the production of the rest of the story, which is fully voiced and works on a variety of platforms. The production began when Milan Kazarka the creator of the Invisible Apartment visual novel series met with Stan Kuhn who’s been creating virtual and augmented reality products for an assortment of clients. Angels & Demigods was a story which Milan had in store for years, waiting for the right platform to release it on. Stan had the software platform ready to create a new visual novel engine that would bring the genre into VR. The plan was not to reinvent the genre in 3D, but rather to use the best of the principles from making traditional visual novel games, keep the art number one priority and work around the fact that high resolution illustrations are better than 3D textures. We managed to create an immersive experience by carefully working with high-resolution illustrations rather than 3D models. This focus on art-style, the atmosphere makes the experience so authentic and the game so unique and fit for VR. Unlike many current VR games we designed Angels & Demigods around the idea of storytelling in VR, so it’s not just straight up port of existing game mechanics. It’s a unique experience. We work with some great artists and musicians - Henrique “Kite” Xavier who has worked on the Invisible Apartment series, Roly Porter who’s been recognized by Rolling Stone as a musician you should know, Sebastian Bach combining classical and electronic music and voice actors like Sally Feng and JB Coleman. Typical japanese street, Akihabara, 26 Mars 2017 The sun was bright, too bright for my NEET eyes, the air is cold, too cold for my NEET skin and the streets are crowded, too crowded for my NEET mind...And here i am, in Akiba, the anime mecca, the holy land of the perverts, the sacred ground of the eroge and... ??? :Oi oi, gaijin-san, why the fuck are you standing like this? is that a gaijin tradition or what? I got suddenly interrupted by mister Takao. I know it sounds weird, but he's actually my japanese pen pal, i just recently got to meet him, and since i discovered he was also an otaku, it was even easier for me to talk to him, i mean, it's been only 3 days since i got my vacations for Japan, and i'm already hanging out with a bunch of japanese dudes. Gaijin-san : You can speak with yourself Mister Takao, it was just thinking about...stuff, stranger stuff as you may think, you know, i'm not really a NEET, i do have a job and all, but i prefer to drow myself into otaku stuff and all. And we continued, laughing and talking about stupid shit and anime...everywhere on screens, you could see the new Berserk anime made by Ufotable, new ads for some weird eroge as well as ads for creepy maid café...on the streets, you could see some Jietai patrols, equiped with modern, but they completely feel normal, compared to the HUGE amount of cosplayers roaming the streets, cosplay of every thing, from lusty maids to some crazy characters. In short, Akiba was a heaven for me...if only, it didn't happen, my biggest fear... Takao : Eh, why did the sky suddenly turn dark? Gaijin-san : what do you...what... In one instant, the whole scenery changed, the peaceful akiba turned into hell, as the sky darkened, multiple....things fell to the ground, struck to towers, buildings or even the streets, the debris fell over us, and...nearly killed us. Gaijin-san : guys! we must get the fuck out of here, run to the metro station! Now! But as i was yelling, one of the things well on our position, crushing the ribs of one of Takao's friend...it took us a whole minute to awake again...unfortunately, one of us didn't make it. Takao: Kuso kuso kuso! what do we do now?! what the hell is happening here! We didn't even have the time to think of something, a ship approached us...no doubt was possible. TV Journalist : as we speak now, the same scenes repeating everywhere, Paris, London, Tokyo, New York and many, many other big towns were assaulted in the same way, what was first mistaken as an meteor shower was, in fact, and trust me, this is not a joke, an Alien invasion, one of our journalist caugh the picture of one of these...things...before he got killed and.. the TV got interrupted and, a blurred face appeared...the counsilman, why am i not surprised. Counsilman : Hello comma...eh wait, you're not the Commander...thanks to you i look like a stupid guy, get me your commander, now. ???: We still have no information regarding the commander, sir, it's his holiday and. Counsilman : Wait, didn't he tell you? he's in Japan and...oh...ok, i'll tell them. Change of plan mysterious soldier, the UN has activated the FuwaCOM cell, unfortunately, your commander is missing. As the Counsilman continue to speak, another guy entered the room, it was C.O Bradley, he's in charge of the logistic and supplying the field units with intel and orders, his nickname was Texas Dice, a rather weird nickname in my opinion. Bradley : Oh sorry lieutenant Tsundere, didn't knew you were with the super secret counsil everyone on the base knows his existence. Counsilman : Mh...seriously, why such people are our only chance?...speak, mister Bradley, why are you even here. Bradley : We got a transmission from the commander...he's being under assault by the aliens, he's in Japan, i tried to pinpoint his position, he's near the Akihabara trainstation...why the fuck is he so fond of trains?..oh, and he asked Tsundere to lead the recovery team, so...good luck Lieutenant. Tsundere : You know, i have a name, my name is Christina, not Tsundere!...Oh sorry Counsilman, but we have to recover our commander, i think it's the right course of action, you agree? Counsilman : You could go fuck yourself, i don't care anymore...just go recover the Commander, i'll talk with him about the future operations, Dismiss! We had no time to lose, i ran as fast as i could to the armory, the mission was vital, if we dont recover our rightful leader, we'll lose the war...it's your fault, stupid otaku! As i arrived to the armory, only 3 soldiers were here: The first of them, a tall slavic guy, with long white hairs, a big scar on his left cheek, and an adidas-inspired strips on his armor, a sniper rifle -the PGM Hecate II, with the inscriptions "Vodka for life", his name : Corporal Vlad "Voko" Brejnev, a fine soldier from the czech army, even if he's...rather lunatic, and mostly speak with dank memes. The second soldier, a bit shorter, with a brown skin, black hairs and a juvenile, beardless face, his name : Ahmed "HuMaN" Iskander, a Palestinian soldier under the Jordanese army...with an israeli flag...yeh, the flag was my idea, i wanted to mess up with him, if you've seen his face, magad it was funny. It's a tradition to do a bit of tease with new soldiers, and he wasn't the exception to the rule. He was our demolition experts, always carrying a standard FuwaCOM assault rifle and X-04 explosives. And Finally, the last of them, a rather generic size(But a very big..."size" i can tell you), with anime-esque blue hairs, a rather generic brown skin, he is...oh, right, i remember now, Lance-Corporal Noel "Big Gun" Ferrara, a proud portuguese special forces member, bearing a big ass minigun ...i'll have to deal with that grotesque team. Oh, who am i? Lieutenant Christina "Tsundere" LaRoche, even if i'm not a tsundere. I used to work for GIGN, and got promoted to this...ultra secret anti-alien project, FuwaCOM, our objective is to assure planetary defence, we're the first...and the last line of survival, if we do not save our leader, the world is doomed, with that in mind, i had only one order to give them. -soldiers! we are humanity's last hope...let's save our Commander!     Hey, all! The Anomaly is a commercial English Visual Novel project that my colleagues and I at Annexe Interactive have been developing for a while now. The game centers around a high school student and his friends after a mysterious anomalous phenomenon occurs suddenly in the sky above Colorado Springs. It will contain minigame and player-choice elements and will include elements of mystery, conspiracy, and various historical and scientific concepts including American Government and Quantum Theory. The game is estimated to be released sometime in late 2016. We recently launched a kickstarter campaign that we hope will provide us with the funds necessary to complete the game. There’s nothing to do, the people are boring, and the only thing keeping Tucker from losing his mind is his small group of friends who share a similar sentiment and similar interests. While the young man and his companions don’t hold much compassion for the physical world around them, their skills in the digital one tell a different story. Tucker is a hacker, and along with his friends Ross and Valerie, he finds every opportunity he can to leave the doldrums of the real world behind and lose himself in cyberspace. Whether it’s something as silly as vandalizing the Cheyenne Mountain High School website, or as serious as tapping into secret government archives, no task is too great or small for Tucker his merry little band of tech-savvy misfits. When Tucker meets a new girl at school named Kiera, things quickly become more complicated, and he and his friends’ carefree lives soon take an even more dramatic turn when the mysterious local phenomenon of “The Hum” begins to cause strange and confusing effects to the people of Colorado Springs. Entire civilizations have been destroyed, others have escaped... for a while. No one is safe. You are the leader (female or male depending on the Patreon support) of a world facing obliteration. Will you find a way to escape the impending doom? Last Days of the Universe is the title of the first project by AdultSciFi. It's an adult science-fiction visual novel. However, one fact changes everything… Early concept: Dora Dora is a victim of the Order’s unsuccessful experiments in an attempt of creating« the seers » artificially. She managed to escape from the Order’s facility when she was ten and she first met Luca in the slums. Dora has a sweet temper but a strong will. From child hood she decided to fight for the Alliance where she found a shelter and a refuge. Early concept: Cloyd Cloyd is a former military man whose sister was a seer. He has been hiding her from the Order for fifteen years but in the end he couldn’t save her. Cloyd has a harsh temper, his own codes of honor, and he won’t stop until he achieves the intended goal. Early concept: White Lady The White Lady is the first leader of the Order. Cruel and mysterious woman, she thinks that she controls the balance of powers in the country. She got her nickname for her color preference in clothing. Early concept: Garey Garey is the leader of the Alliance. He is physically undeveloped but very smart. In the past Garey was a professor of a University, and in his spare time he created his own drug dealing net. Even though he hides himself behind words of virtue, he only cares of himself. Early concept: Spider Spider is the deputy of the White Lady, the second leader of the Order. He is smart, charming, able to find an approach to people. At the same time he is diagnosed with alexithymia (he can’t understand and almost doesn’t feel any emotions). If he had an idol – that would be Hannibal Lector. He is acquainted with Luca. Before joining the Order he had worked with Luca for two years. Early concept: Leland Leland is the third leader of the Order. He loves ballet and makes considerable donations for the needs of art, he also supplies arms. He was married five times but none of his wives could outlive the first year of marriage. Leland is sure that his ancestors were aristocrats. He collects porcelain dolls, five of them have faces of his deceased wives. Early concept: Astra Astra is the fourth leader of the Order. She dreams about taking the place of the White Lady. She has three children ( all girls, she adopted each of them). She favors the illegal organ trade. She was the one who caught Cloyd’s sister. Astra suffers from fits of melancholy. She doesn’t see the sense neither in her and nor in others’ lives. Only the fight for power helps her to distract herself from painful thoughts. Early concept: Abby Abby is Luca’s friend, who he has been raising since she was ten. She is a cheerful girl. She dreams of a new life for her and for Luca. She saves money for moving to a different country. Early concept: Nancy Nancy is a popular seamstress in the slums. It was precisely her who found Luca and raised him like her own son. Nancy is a rather rude and simple woman, she values her relatives more than anything.   25. Hello, I've been working on a visual novel based on my own writing. It is a freeware visual novel and I intend to keep it free. It is built with TyranoBuilder, Blender, Daz3D, and GIMP for post processing of CG renders.
