Omega Pattern seeks to offer a more personal and deeper experience in the visual novel genre. In Omega Pattern, we ‘reinvent’ the visual novel concept by giving you the opportunity to choose the main character’s personality in a prologue where you will recall his past. Every personality defines a character with his own storyline which will change as you advance on the story and keep making decisions. The results will depend on the consistency of the character and the impact that your decisions have in the world. In addition to this, the narrative style is different from other visual novels, letting you get into the main character’s head instead of being a mere spectator. This means that both the number of decision points and the number of choices or options that you will find in those decision points may vary according to your previous decisions during the game. SYNOPSIS The world where the Omega Pattern story happens is seemingly normal, similar to the one we live in. However, genetics and fate mean that a few individuals are born with a kind of Pattern or special brain signal which lets them develop unique and varied psychic skills that are determined by their life experiences, which form their behavior and character. From the shadows, an organization known as Bioagora controls the world according to its own interests thanks to the power and influences that they get, in part, from their Agents. These Agents are people who own the Pattern and have been coerced, bought, forced and even captured against their will to be brainwashed and indoctrinated, so they can faithfully serve the Bioagora. Shaiel (21 years old), a man who possesses the Pattern, has found himself forced to live in secrecy in order to avoid falling into the hands of the Bioagora. However, as time passes, it gets more difficult to escape from a power which is increasing exponentially. Seeking for allies has become an unavoidable, and it seems that the only alternative available are the Celtas; a small and poorly organized group with unorthodox methods, whose plan to face the Agents and restoring an order different to the Bioagora’s seems near impossible. As the rest of the population stay impassive in a gray world, Shaiel will have Shaiel to play his cards right and find out the truth hidden by the Bioagora, the Celtas and himself. THE FINAL PART: WHY KICKSTARTER? This Kickstarter campaign expects to get funding for the big final part of the visual novel. Borokai Studio is an indie group and Omega Pattern is his first indie visual novel. Besides being indie, Omega Pattern intends to be a very long visual novel (+40 hours). It’s impossible to afford this kind of project by an indie group without economic support, and here’s where the first part of Omega Pattern appears. We covered the first part expenses and released it without Kickstarter, Patreon or any kind of crowdfunding campaign because we wanted to show you the main concept of Omega Pattern (a visual novel where you define the main character’s personality and Pattern) before using this kind of resources. Omega Pattern is not an episodic visual novel. Our current intention is to release DLCs and bundles with the full Beast, King and Astral routes. The decisions you make in the first part give you access to these routes, but they won’t affect their course. This means that you don’t have to replay the first part again when we release the routes DLCs. The decision system that we’ll use for the routes won’t allow us to separate them into more parts since we want that every decision you make can cause an impact on the story as it advances as well as in the endings. Every route will be different and we’d like to give them an estimated duration of 12 hours or more. But don't worry, if we don't manage to fund the final part in this campaign, we will divide the final part into several DLCs depending on the amount pledged by the bakers and we will relaunch a new Kickstarter campaign with a lower goal in order to release the next Omega Pattern's DLC. COST BREAKDOWN Art (35%): Over 85 CGs, 85 BGs, 8 new major characters and several minor characters. We could decrease the number of BGs and increase the number of CGs. Writing and Translation (30%): The original Omega Pattern's script is written in Spanish and we will have to cover an English professional translation. If we reach it, we will try to improve the visual novel with these stretch goals. 38.000€: MORE ART. Over 100 CGs and 100 BGs.   4. Idris is a bonds man- a special bonds man. While most of his clients need to bail loved ones out of jail, a few are looking for a reprieve from someone they once knew. For Evalise, all she wanted was to get a bail bond for her boyfriend, when Idris surprised her with a simple but confusing question. What if you could make him forget all about you? Story Evalise's boyfriend has a bit of a wild side... and a bit of a knack for being caught. She arrives at a bail bonds place run by a man named Idris- however, while working out a bail bond, he springs a question about a different kind of bond- a memory bond. With his knife, he's able to sever any ties a person has with someone else, permanently, making the other person completely forget about his client. With one small cut, she'd be able to leave her not-so-great boyfriend behind and move on... Characters Evalise Adams Our protagonist, Evalise. She's 26 and works a regular retail job with a not-so-regular boyfriend who's a repeat petty criminal. Eva isn't the bad girl type, so her friends don't see why she's with him- but to her, it's just a matter of convenience. She was in a car wreck over a year prior to the start of the game, and ever since then her memory has been blurred and she's slowly distanced herself from her friends. So, finding any kind of person who'd show her a bit of comfort- even at the price of having to bail him out of jail a few times- was worth it to her. Idris Whitcher Idris is a bonds dealer who also runs a lesser-known side business of severing the bonds people have with others. He's 28 and likes seeing movies the night they come out, playing with his shelter rescue labrador, and taking long walks on the beach- at least, that's what his dating profile reads. He takes an immediate interest in Evalise, but hasn't exactly tried the whole "dating" and "relationship" thing in a while. ...And many more characters in-game! Details This game was being made for the Indie Game Maker Contest, a month long game jam held by Degica to make a game in any valid RPG Maker engine. I was hoping to finish this game, but alas, I was only able to get a demo finished. So, now I've ported it to Ren'Py and am finishing it, extending it in the process! The concept for this game came from something quite visible in the key art- the red string of fate. While it's not present in the game, it does give a good idea about what the game is about, as it focuses on the bonds forged between people and fate. As it was a starting point for me in development of the story and is an item most people can identify, I placed it front and center in the artwork. The current demo is about 10-15 minutes long. Joel Portillo Yelth+Zhana (Prologue: Dawn of Descent) KS yelthzhana01.zip Deep within the jungles of Mesoamerica, sometime after the Spanish Conquistadors established a foothold in the New World, a young man bent on vengeance accidentally calls down an evil as old as the universe itself. The consequences are not his alone to bear. Gameplay Yelth + Zhana is a visual novel. Similar to the adventure books of the 70s and 80s, the player is given an opportunity to interact with the story by choosing a path for the protagonist to follow. The path can lead to a "good", "bad" or "neutral" ending. Depending on the ending, the story may or may not continue onward.   9. I'd like to finally announce the first visual novel that I am producing. American University Life is an 18+, slice of life kinetic visual novel that centers around Skye and his new college friends. Set in the fictional, tropical paradise Leuther Island, a newly admitted state to the United States of America. The streets are filled with eco-friendly smart cars, sprawling "green" metropolises sport the latest generation of technology, and the campus is right across the street from the beach! Premise Skye arrives to Leuther Island to attend school at the University of Leuther Island. It's like a dream. The dormitories are like villas right out of a tropical getaway magazine. The dining hall is a restaurant that serves gourmet food buffet style. There's even a golf course and five star gym? What doesn't this school have? Wait a minute, what was that? ...There are only five students at this school? Leslie Herkowitz is the first student you meet at the University of Leuther. Originally from Australia, she is 22 years old, having spent the last several years working to make enough money to study abroad in the United States. She's coming to school undeclared, unsure of what to study in college, but has a clear career goal in mind to become a wildlife activist. What could this school on a tropical paradise have in store for our foreign student? Andrea Sanchez is coming to the University on an athletic scholarship for soccer. She is all fun and games, but nothing will stand in her way of playing on the big stage. Unfortunately, being one of only five students at the school has put a damper on those plans. One can only imagine if her passion is enough to carry her forward, or will she give it all up? Belleruche Fontaine is a musical genius. She jumped on the chance to transfer schools when she learned that the University of Leuther is seeking students of exceptional artistic talents. A school with nearly no students, a haven to herself in peace? Nothing is too pristine, she didn't expect her parents to be moving with her, keeping a close eye on their daughter only a short drive away. Sara Su-Cheng, like some of us, picked a college as far away from her family as she could. Finally, she would have a room of her own. Finally, her belongings wouldn't be mishandled by her younger siblings. And finally, she could waste away the days on her computer. Too bad, some of the students here don't want to leave her be. If you have stuck around this long to read this message, then that must mean you're a bit interested in it, I hope. The project itself is going at a steady pace, and I am still searching for people to complete the rest of the assets. This VN is pretty short since this only spans the length of the welcome week. It's around 35k words, and can easily be finished in one sitting. My hope is that if this takes off to some semblance of financial gain (I intend this to be commercial), then I would look in to using the profits to fund a much larger chapter of the game to span the entirety of a school year. It won't be a day by day basis, instead, the story will be scene by scene and the passage of time will be clued in through the narrative. I've debated with myself to some lengths about whether I wanted player choice in this game. Unfortunately, I am producing it alone and have come under tough financial constraints. (I missed out on a lot of steam sales this past autumn and winter in order to fund this!) I do wish, if this game is profitably successful, to incorporate player choice into the next chapter of this game! All that being said, what do you all think? Have we seen enough chitty romcom harems? Or are there not enough of it? I read/watched a lot of manga, anime, visual novels, and some light novels, all of which originated from Japan and close-knit dojin circles. I wanted to pull VERY loosely from my college experience and create a story out of it through the shoes of a westerner. I don't want this story to be a harem, though. In spite of what it may appear at first glance, I wanted to make it a wholesome and touching experience for Skye and the players to read. Stay tuned! Teamed up with Sophie, you decide to investigate the mysterious happenings in the cafe, but it will prove to be a harder task when your carnal desires seem to distract you at every turn. Sophie has noticed that she’s rather lazy when it comes to manual work and would prefer to offload her responsibilities on others. The original owner and manager of the Resting Bean Cafe. She claims that her puppet like appearance is the result of a curse placed on her, however, Colette has been secretive about how it happened and refuses to give any details.     Hi there! I see amazing posts on our forums and lemma soft's forums with these beautiful pictures that lead to links and I'd really like to know how to do that as well. For example, a lot of posts promoting their projects have a button that says "Support our Kickstarter" or "Download Our Demo." Does anyone know how I could do that? Also, I've seen the same thing on reddit which I have no clue how they did that because everytime I Google how to do those things it always says you can only post direct links from imgur. But if anyone knows how to do the same buttons for reddit or even how to make pictures show up in reddit, I'd really appreciate the help. Also, this is going to make me sound really dumb but does the tag [BxG] mean boy and girl? I've also seen [GxB] and I'm like... is that different? Lol thanks for the help!
  13. Hello everyone! Our two-person team at Woodsy Studio is excited to officially announce Echoes of the Fey - Episode 2: The Last Sacrament. It's actually pretty far along in production right now (about 75% complete), but we're running a Kickstarter to help us to the finish line and fund all of the features we want to implement (such as more CGs and voice acting). The Echoes of the Fey series mixes a high fantasy setting with the mysteries and conspiracies of pulp detective fiction. Play as Sofya Rykov, a private investigator with a secret of her own: she is the only Human able to wield unlimited magic. Her country of Oraz is recovering from a 30-year war between Humans and Leshin (elves) over the use of Fey energy, so her unstable magic is best kept secret. Sofya herself is an unusual protagonist. For starters, we gave her personality traits typically given to the male leads of hard-boiled mystery tales. She sports a sassy, optimistic attitude that laughs in the face of danger, but this is a cover for the fear and helplessness underneath. As a result she sleeps around, drinks heavily, and knows she could die at any moment from the strange magic trapped inside of her. In The Last Sacrament, Sofya’s childhood love and the Emperor’s daughter, Katerina, seeks her protection from threats near the border. Meanwhile Katerina’s rival, Nikolai, needs a dangerous drug stolen from the powerful Krovakyn Church and uses blackmails to force Sofya’s assistance. Nikolai wants a dose of the Sacrament, a mysterious substance from the Krovakyn Church that can cure illnesses and extend lifespans. But repeated use of the Sacrament causes strange side effects, such as hallucinations and physical deformities. Nikolai wants to give the Sacrament to his grandmother, who has already received the maximum dosage allowed. It’s up to you, the player, to solve each case and determine its outcome. Can you track down Katerina’s enemy? And if you manage to steal the Sacrament, what will you choose to do with it? You also have several romance options in The Last Sacrament. If you proceed carefully, you can develop a romantic relationship with Katerina, Arkady, Nikolai, or Heremon. Most of The Last Sacrament consists of traditional VN scenes with choices to direct the story. You can also roam the town of Vodotsk freely as a side-scrolling environment, which opens up side quests and optional investigation opportunities. But the most experimental aspect of Echoes of the Fey: The Last Sacrament is a complex mini-game called RiftRealms. This is a tabletop game that exists in the world of Echoes of the Fey, and as Sofya you can play with other characters. We thought this would be an interesting way to showcase each character’s personality based on how they treat you as a Dungeon master. Manila, Philippines Summary walang MOE sa Pinas!!! is a Gameboy-graphic, pixel art visual novel which aims to provide a small slice-of-life story on how living in the Philippines looks like while at the same time provide a small commentary towards the current happenings in the political world... The visual novel is divided into two parts, presented to you as a parody of that huge video platform we all loved (and hated at the same time). First, are the slice-of-life episodes. This is where the player will be provided with the novel's main story. Depending on what card points you earned, you'll be granted access to these episodes in order for you to proceed with the story. This will serve as the player's opportunity to choose character routes and endings. And secondly, the podcast episodes. This is where the player will be given the opportunity to learn more about the characters while earning card points at the same time. These episodes are highly political in nature and will aim to provide current events commentary... of course, provided to you by the six main characters of the novel. The goal of this game is mostly to bring awareness to some very dark and sensitive topics that many high school students face today. Of course, there are so many issues that our youth struggles with, so we only tackle a few of the bigger topics that are sometimes swept under the rug (like bullying, sexual assault, gender crisis). This may offend some people, but overall, I hope to bring light on these topics. There are so many very. real. problems that people around us continue to deal with.   20. Hello! So this is my debut VN made with Ren'Py. It started development since 2015 but will only be seeing its First Chapter after a few days because of some difficulties. I also had to rewrite the entire plot. If you can tell, I'm a one-man crew. Only the writing and programming is 100% me. The rest of the assets are CC. What will be releasing in a few days is the first of ten chapters that will span until mid-2018. Call it 0.98 for now; it just needs some polishing. Release will be on itch.io. Death Roulette focuses on ten students from Maria St. Claire Institute, all of whom are graduating from high school. Everything seems normal at first... until a strange "link" is uncovered. Conspiracy theories circulate around an incident the previous academic year, when a mass murder occurs at Sacred Heart Village. One by one, a student is killed each month, and the mastermind is never unmasked. To top it off, one of MSCI's alumna is involved, but even she is proven innocent... or is she? Come one morning, and the students of MSCI find out that even they have been compromised: someone is re-enacting the Sacred Heart Murders through a long-running game of deadly roulette. This time, they have a chance of unmasking the culprit, but how many lives will the effort cost? The time has started, and the game is on. It draws a lot of inspiration from Higurashi and Corpse Party, but the plot's basis is on semi-true events. Expect to see some neat references there... or not. Parallelisms, maybe? A steampunk/dieselpunk kind of world where airships are the main method of travel. Our story currently spans every nation faction within the world of Guns of Icarus and is expected to clock in past 700,000 word count. Being based within the world of Guns of Icarus, Dust and Air attempts to tell a story based on the pieces of lore that Muse has created. Their world lore is very open and vague, giving us plenty of room to flesh it out with this story.   24. Well hello there! In the name of Moral Anxiety Studio I’m glad to announce that we currently work on our second story-focused video game project for Windows. Tales From Windy Meadow is a single-player collection of interactive stories focused on the community of small village set in bittersweet fantasy world. This Visual Novel explores topics like finding your place in life, loneliness, pursuing your goals and dealing with your past and disadvantages. Unlike most VNs, we decided to use to our advantage the world of pixel art. Inspired by games such as VA-11 Hall-A and Sword & Sworcery, we want to create distinctive visuals and combine them with immersive, relatable writing and amazing folk music composed by Doctor Turtle. We also experiment with other features to make the game as pleasant as possible. The text-based narration is going to be replaced by various animations, limiting the on-screen text almost exclusively to dialogues. Significant character decisions, “skip a scene” button, an in-game map... The GameMaker Studio engine is a perfect tool to add to our game everything it needs to entertain you. The game still has a long way to go. We’re currently working on concept arts, story improvements and programming alike, so we plan to release the game in March of 2018. And if you liked our previous game, The Tavern, you may want to know that Tales From Windy Meadow are set in the same universe, though a couple of decades later. 'Chemically Bonded' is scheduled to be a multi-ending visual novel set in modern day Japan, with mild ecchi scenes spliced into what'll hopefully turn out to be a serious and impacting story. A recurring theme throughout the story is science, although it is purely a romantic story in a realistic environment. CV: Nikki Marie Beyer As an aspiring scientist, Kiyoko prides herself on her ability to control her emotions through the use of logic. At least, that's what she believes. Despite having an overly emotive personality, she's often mistaken for the quiet type despite having a lot to say. Her inquisitive nature usually leads to chaos, as despite enjoying an experiment or two she has no concern for health and safety procedures. Kiyoko is the founder and currently sole member of the "science club" and tends to keep to herself, being known around the school for her outstanding intellect. She isn't afraid of conversation, however despite her forwardness in one on one situations her social circle is quite limited. She is the captain of the athletics team when she isn't having her say over every sporting club in the school.
