  1. So, we are the creative studio "Ray Out"! In short, we are a bunch of enthusiasts who have united in a team for creativity. Thanks to our rich YouTube history, as well as translations, voice acting and songs, we finally have enough connections to dev Visual Novel! Of course, we will tell you about this in this post, but at the very beginning it is worth noting only one thing. We know our business, we know many talented people, and we just have to collect the necessary funds to implement our ambitious idea. We hope for your support! Once a young man who lost his parents a few years ago receives an unexpected call. He is called by a certain Collins Brooks, who reports on a large inheritance awaiting the protagonist in a distant town. Mark Tino, whose role you take on, will certainly go for untold wealth. After all, he just finished his studies as a psychotherapist, and now his future is in question. Life was not easy for him, because he lived in a rented apartment and always worked part-time to feed himself. Study and work absorbed him so much that he did not even have time to rest. But having arrived in the distant town of Akunagi, Mark learns that his deceased grandparents lived in this wonderful place for a reason. Тhe town itself is surrounded by a forest and located behind high walls, far from civilization… Immerse yourself in a world where money does not matter, you do not know who you are, and you are surrounded by persons with mental disorders. Or is it not so? Why did you come? Who are you? Perhaps you will find here the love of your life, or perhaps … your death. Only by knowing the whole truth behind the walls of Akunagi City you can find your true self. "Town" is not the most standard visual novel. Have you ever asked yourself what is missing for you in this amazing Japanese genre? We asked ourselves this question and … Here's what we decided: - Collecting items in different routes (to reveal the truth) - Collection of folklore in different routes (to reveal the truth) - Over a hundred choices and decisions for the player (to make your own story) - Easy puzzles (this is not a game for children) - Romantic scenes (18+) - More than 5 romantic routes (different options and girls) - Two personal routes with an emphasis on yourself (where there is no romance, but crumbs of truth are sown) - Additional root after passing the main (for those who are looking for real freedom) - Displacement map (so the replay value is high) - Different times of the day: Morning, Lunch, Evening (after all, this is how life is … and events can be different) - Choosing where to go (to reveal the truth) - The consequences of your decisions (to make your own story) - Colorful characters (we devote the most time to the player, but the rest of the characters have their own lives) - Thoughtful story where you can be a scientist and rely on facts, or accept the true mystical nature of the city (to make your own story) - Personal scale of character development (and no, these are not levels, it's just your mental state) - You can live in Akunagi without thinking at all, but this will lead to very different consequences (to make your own story) - Each character has from two to seven endings (yes … because your role in their life can be completely different) And most likely we have not even listed everything here (because we are waiting for you …) What have we already done?   2. WELCOME TO MY NEW REALITY! In the story we will follow a group of young people who are trying to solve the murder of one of their friends, and the disappearance of a most people in the town. I'm Yume! and I'm a developer that likes to create and play a lot of different games, but mostly the ones that are more focused on the story. Right now I'm working on a visual novel that I've been wanting to create since a long time ago. This game is a nonlinear visual novel that combines horror and romance, with also some meta elements added to the mix. I'm Hiera and I handle the story, art (sprites/CG) as well as the programming. Every other asset I use are royalty free stuff (all individually credited.) I've been working on KTN for the past year and developed everything surrounding it in that time. It went from a test project/short story to check out what Ren'py can do and it evolved into the longest project I've ever worked on (many such cases.) As mentioned earlier, the vn is Day-based. Prologue contains Days 1 to -1 (not including -1. at the moment I'm writing -1, I make most of my updates on twitter if you're interested in that.) and Days belong to Chapters. Nothing concrete but in my head there should be something like 5 Chapters, as well as 5 mini-story "Character Story" sections. I'm the only one in the team^^ and will be making everything (except for music) Story Paloma is an Angelical, a creature that enjoys devouring the memories of humans. Paloma began her training recently and must learn to distinguish the good memories from the bad ones in order to satisfy her superiors. However, she finds it difficult to understand the humans and the decisions they made to get here. Will you help her devour the good memories, or will you let her succumb to her superiors? Features Choose who will receive the 'Angelical Trial'. Put yourself in the shoes of Paloma, the main character.   6. Hello! With a group of friends we have been writing this psychological horror and romance novel. Basically, it is about a guy who, due to a mental disorder, perceives the world differently and can travel to other worlds and times when he sleeps. We have 2/5 routes almost finished: Route 1. A tale in the circus of phenomena. Here the heroine is a clown/harlequin named Crulleica. Here it is explored how disturbing and cruel were the circuses of freaks at that time Route 2. A story in a hospital. Here the heroine is a patient with physical and mental disabilities named Ofelia But do not worry. Romance will not be left out as it is a fundamental part of the story It has been a bit hard since to be more exact we have had to research and read about these issues (I even got to talk to a doctor for Ofelia's route) So with these references that I have given... Are you an artist or do you know an artist who knows how to draw and color models and backgrounds that fit perfectly with this type of theme? Here some of us can draw but unfortunately not digitally What are your opinions? Should we add or change something? Do you have an idea for a route? Should we add some kind of mechanics or minigames?   7. Siren's Call: A free Denpa visual novel where you escape from an actual tourist trap. Siren's Call is a Denpa visual novel loosely based off of my experiences living in (and escaping) Central Florida as an adult on the autism spectrum. The game was a passion project made by myself, my wife, my best friend, and a couple other close friends and freelancers. It took us roughly four years to complete and is now out on Steam for free. While your millage may vary on how scary you find the game (much of it is based off of my own personal fears), I can say with conviction that you will feel the love and effort put into this project. Andi, the sovereign’s sassy twin sister whose strength and spunk speak volumes on their own! Ashton, a hero in training whose sizable fist is matched only by the size of his heart! Emil, the once timid boy turned man who will not stop until he reaches absolute perfection... and, of course, Violet: your actual girlfriend. We've finished the main game which you can find on steam right here, but my team and I are also making extra story content as well! Prove You Aren't Dead: A Epilogue While it is true that our team succeeded where many others have failed and got Siren's Call out in a playable state, it is far from being "complete." Over the course of the past five months, I've released a few bonus stories acting as a prequel of sorts to the events of the main game. But in terms of the true epilogue...that is what I'm going to be working on for the foreseeable future.   10. Hi everyone! I already know some of you through Discord server, I've been talking about this game my friends and I are working on, but let me introduce it to everyone in more detail here! Unwritten: How will your story end? is a F2P visual novel game that 15 of us worked together on, for more than 10 months! It will feature hybrid gameplay with interactive elements and choice-based system that WE KNOW will make a difference! We're hoping to bring something new to the world of visual novels, be it through the beautiful art, unique personalities of each series, or compelling storytelling that combines different interactive elements to create a truly exciting narrative. Also, featured series will be diverse with genres and will range from modern love and romance to mystery, fantasy, horror, comedy, drama… The first four series of the game have already been announced! Those are: Second Society (a paranormal/vampire story), Triple Scoop (a high school comedy setting), Gears of Snow and Cinders (a very cool fantasy/forbidden love series) and Business with Pleasure (set in a steamy, passionate location of a popular club!) Based on the choices you made in the game, the plot shifts to a different version of the same path. Those new paths triggered by the choices are creating a much larger story, and an entertaining experience that will be similar to reading the book or watching a TV series. Points based structure, which dictates the progression of the game. They are not implemented to add to the difficulty of the game, but to truly immerse players into the storyline and give them higher control while playing. The authenticity of the characters and the situations. Often, main characters and NPCs in games are lacking the backbone, or the conviction when doing something. We tried to counter that in the game and give them their own mindset, backgrounds, traumas and triggers, with some more realism woven in the plot. Ofc, the series and scenes will have trigger warnings when applicable! Diversity! We want our app to be inclusive, affirmative, and positive!   11. Mycorrhiza is a love letter to horror manga in the form of a visual novel. Some of our biggest inspirations include the works of Junji Ito and Masaaki Nakayama. While the protagonist is trying to find a way back home, reality distorts and people’s morals start shifting in cruel and unexpected ways. A strange plant transforming animals, a strange comedy trend and a strange building trapping people. Each of the three arcs explores different terrors. The game features a manga aesthetic (with CGs drawn by a manga artist), as well as a higher focus on dynamic audio. The first arc is available in the demo. It features the aforementioned plants that transform people's pets into monsters and how these monsters are used by the pet owners to terrorize their neighbors. Of course, the initial phase is to prepare a description of the graphics. After that our artist creates a concept. The goal is not to create an accurate frame, but just a simple graphic. We also want to see shadows and lights. Wonderfully we have it! But is it finished? Actually, it's the beginning of the fun After the initial concept is done, our artist gets some tips and she can create a comic book line art without shadows and lights. Another portion of tips and our artist again refines the frame. Looks much better, right? Great! The graphic looks good. The face expresses cold emotions, the room has taken shape. Ready! It's time to send the graphics to the next artist, who will color it. The artist sends us a frame with a question if the choice of colors is appropriate - we agree. Michalina starts improving the picture and sends us the final version. Finally, it's ready! We animate the frame and the final version is presented as below: We are very happy that we could show you the process of creating that frame. We believe that video games are meant to push the boundaries, both technological and of the way we experience stories and beauty. We are passionate about every magical gem that comes from our fiery forge. The road from an idea to final product requires patience and hard work but what an adventure it is!

  21. Hello! So this is my debut VN made with Ren'Py. It started development since 2015 but will only be seeing its First Chapter after a few days because of some difficulties. I also had to rewrite the entire plot. If you can tell, I'm a one-man crew. Only the writing and programming is 100% me. The rest of the assets are CC. What will be releasing in a few days is the first of ten chapters that will span until mid-2018. Call it 0.98 for now; it just needs some polishing. Release will be on itch.io. Death Roulette focuses on ten students from Maria St. Claire Institute, all of whom are graduating from high school. Everything seems normal at first... until a strange "link" is uncovered. Conspiracy theories circulate around an incident the previous academic year, when a mass murder occurs at Sacred Heart Village. One by one, a student is killed each month, and the mastermind is never unmasked. To top it off, one of MSCI's alumna is involved, but even she is proven innocent... or is she? Come one morning, and the students of MSCI find out that even they have been compromised: someone is re-enacting the Sacred Heart Murders through a long-running game of deadly roulette. This time, they have a chance of unmasking the culprit, but how many lives will the effort cost? The time has started, and the game is on. It draws a lot of inspiration from Higurashi and Corpse Party, but the plot's basis is on semi-true events. Expect to see some neat references there... or not. Parallelisms, maybe?
