Moenovel teases localization of a new title

And Moenovel outed themselves as being the people responsible for localizing Shuffle by forgetting to edit their template.

Don't jump to conclusions. MoeNovel and YumeHaven are two different companies with different ownership. AGM owns YumeHaven, Pulltop owns Moenovel, this isn't disputable. AGM has done web design and promotional work for MoeNovel and possibly left that in by accident despite not being directly involved in the production or translation here.

edit: If there is any shared staff between translations, it would never be that MoeNovel are responsible for Shuffle's localization. AGM is a huge localization firm who would have been the ones contracted to work on MoeNovel stuff, not the other way around. And they're big enough with enough staff that you can never tell what you're going to get from them. It is exceedingly unlikely that the same exact people responsible for IMHHW would be working on these new projects.

Yeah, this is a topic we discussed in the Shuffle thread when it was noticed that the Shuffle page had striking similarities to the If My Heart Had Wings page. AGM does not admit to having worked on IMHHW itself, but said they did web design and promotional work for it.

To summarize Decay's message: AGM is likely doing the promotion/marketing/web design for both YumeHaven and MoeNovel.

As for the new game, definitely looks like a Sakura Spirit clone.  They appear to be trying to beat Winged Cloud at their own game, though we'll see if they price it to reflect that.

So, anyone else looking forward to the VN which had kyonyuu goddess idol group and apparently didn't had sex content here? If so just said it here, although my response here would be okay whatever. Just saying.

Anyway, I'd think that this VN was had the same idea as Time Leap Paradise, which also had same element (Idol) and created by Frontwing. Other than that, no comment for MoeNovel attempt there to made another release.

Well, duh. But I definitely get the Sakura vibes from this one. Just the way it's being presented and its whole general aesthetic feels directly targeted at the Steam crowd that regularly buys Sakura games. Pulltop is at least a year late on this, though. The Sakura series has been in decline lately.

To quote the two synopses:

Quote

In the future of a slightly different Japan, people are worried about the declining birth rate. To solve this problem, many gods come to the human world to help.

Quote

It was a time when people had forgotten their dreams and lost faith. The silhouettes of goddesses revealed themselves to the people who then could only believe in what they saw right in front of them.
The confusion surrounding the countless goddesses appearing in Japan could be explained due to Amaterasu Okami wanting to teach the goddesses about the human world.
All of this brought about the implementation of the Divine Education Act. A year passed and the numerous goddesses and humans got to learn about each other, got to know one another, and came to a mutual understanding.
The subculture holy land and heart of Divine Idol culture, known as Akihabara, housed the seven lucky goddesses that dominated as idols in L☆SEVEN.

The premises are fundamentally different.  One sounds like the stereotypical setup for a nukige.  The other sounds like Ah my Goddess and idols shoehorned together.  The latter seems to be trying to distance itself from the former, not imitate it.

This is good guys. They won't ruin any existing visual novel and will instead produce their own garbage. Visual Novels dodged a bullet today.

As long as it's an original VN that was made with MoeNovel's style of lolcalization in mind, I don't care.  It can sit on Steam with all the other moeblob ecchi trash and get a few sales from stupid, horny teenagers that don't realize they can get porn for free (or at least buy better  all-ages VNs) instead of paying for a cocktease.

We should be celebrating!  :sacchan:

I LoLed.

I love how they're implying that no other localization company's releases lets people "enjoy themselves" (whatever the hell that's supposed to mean in that context), while simultaneously suggesting that they are unique in having HD assets (1280×720 is HD now?  lmao).  The weird English is just icing on top of the cake.

Actually, it is.

Then lots of other localization companies have "HD assets", and it's barely even worth mentioning.  Also, to the average gamer, that's not that good of a resolution, which makes it even more odd to even bother mentioning it at all.  1080p is considered the gaming standard, with more and more people wanting to reach 1440p and 4K as the tech gets cheaper.  Now, I'm quite aware that most VNs have lower resolutions and have to either add black bars or upscale in order to be viewed in 1080p, but most people on Steam probably don't.

Yep, there's a difference between HD and 'Full HD'.

Well, that's stupid.  I've literally never heard the term "Full HD" before, but apparently it indicates 1080p.

This is interesting. So they're making a 'new' game based off an original franchise.

I'm not sure how to feel about that. I guess there won't be any problems having an 18+ version cut out since there won't be any in the first place.

I'll just wait and see how this goes. Hoping someone will bite the bullet and try it out. Looking forward to a future review though.

You probably weren't around when the tech was just taking off, or something. There was this big thing about 720p, 1080i, and 1080p, and consumer conscious people were going around saying people should buy 'full HD' and how 1080i was 'fake' so 'do not buy'.

The Steam page is up and it includes a bunch of sample screenshots: http://store.steampowered.com/app/547340/

While it's still too early to tell what the translation will be like overall, I'll say that the vibe I get from those screenshots is quite a bit different from the one I get from IMHHW. If the entire game looks like those screenshots, that's actually pretty much fine for some cheap ecchi moege thing.

The other thing to note about that steam page is the blatant advertising of partial/covered nudity and the nudity tag, showing a change in philosophy at moenovel. They are now very obviously abandoning their previous mission of delivering products suitable for all audiences.

Yeah, I didn't pay much attention until 1080p was everywhere.  I was young and couldn't afford all that stuff, so I didn't care.

Wow, Nosebleed, you slipped some dank memes in on the sly.  Respect  :OurLordAndSavior:

Don't care about HD thing, but I just take a look to the Steam page. The size was surprisingly low for newer game (3 GB), so maybe the length for this game could be at least around Koi Resort (Or maybe MoeNovel managed to compress the file size perhaps). As for interface, it's usual Pulltop so not much to comment here. That's all for now.
