Denpsoft refuses to sell hard copies online now?

Well, Denpasoft may be no longer carrying hard copies of their games.

Thank you for writing in. We cannot sell it online due to payment processor issues, so we are continuing to sell our stock at conventions.

 

Sorry Denpasoft, but not everyone can attend the conventions. Thank you for driving away even more of your customers. I was going to support them with future purchases, but I may consider other companies instead.

I have not heard of this. Will it be in English? Even if you can, Denpasoft was originally created to sell Adult games including hard copies.

You can buy it directly from the circle's website. All copies of the game have Japanese and English as a language.

I got all my copies of nekopara directly from dlsite so I could support the circle.

That's unfortunately the tricky part. You'd have to use a proxy service, but a lot of proxy services don't accept 18+ material. The alternative would be to have somebody in Japan ship it for you.

And that is where Denpasoft should come in. They really don't know how to run a company do they. If I buy the JP one, will it also have English text, the physical copy that is?

That is true, but their reasons are completely valid. Payment processors are already a bitch with digital content that's considered "obscene", let alone actual physical goods.

Again, Jast and Mangagamer have found one, and Denpa used to ship physical copies. Heck MG uses one based in Japan now. I guess my complaining will not change anything. It is upsetting tho because they are localizing games I really look forward to.

I mean, the problem isn't your disappointment. The problem is your assertion that they flipped you the bird and had a lame excuse, both of which are probably false. You are aware that MG just plain lost their payment processor earlier this year right? Granted that was due to steam key harvesting fraud by some dicks w/ stolen credit cards, but these things happen.

I get that, but a good company would find a way to fix the problem. This is not the first time SP screwed over customers or potential customers. This is how you lose paying customers.

Are you an expert on payment processors for pornographic material? No? Okay, then stop talking. It's fine to be discontent, but whining and complaining that they're all stupid and don't know how to run a company doesn't change anything.

Way to be condescending. As a customer, I have a right to complain. This is a forum where we have a right to complain and  voice our opinions, so stop being arrogant. I never said they are all stupid did I? I actually pointed out that Jast and MG got the job done and treat their customers a lot better than SP does. If you don't like what I say than you are free to ignore this thread or block me.

They might not do a second run of printing for physical copies, so unless you want to wait for the possibility of that happening, just buy a digital copy.  As far as I know, they only sold hardcopies via the Kickstarter, and gave noncommittal answers when people asked if they'd sell them again at some point.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the physical editions they were selling were the all-ages vita port versions. If he was going to denpasoft wanting an 18+ physical version, that was never an option from SP.

 

Anyways, yeah this does suck, but it doesn't look like it is in Denpasoft's control at the moment, seeing as it is linked to payment processor issues. You can still buy the digital versions from them, and support the creators that way, or do like Nosbebleed said and purchase a physical edition elswhere. (3rd party shipping does increase the cost a bit, but at the very least it means there is an option for you.)

Perhaps sending a polite tweet or another email inquiring more about whether or not this is something they think will be fixed in the future is something worth trying out. In my personal experience dealing with Denpasoft, they have replied to all my questions quite openly, so it wouldn't hurt asking them. I wouldn't sign off from them as a whole just yet; this really doesn't seem to be in their control.

You seem to be the regular pettifogger for localization companies (mostly SP or in this case Denpasoft) on this forum, may I know why do you try to justify literally everything that they do? I am starting to think that you are their employee :)

Chuee is part of the fan TL team, Shinku Translations, that is working on KoiSaku and several other Favorite titles.  They're presumably being paid by SP for their work.  I don't know if they're part of the team that's working on Hoshimemo's re-translation.

I thought that was known by pretty much everyone here already.  Chuee is listed as a member of the TL team on Shinku's site.

Thanks for the clarification, I didn't know that ... I rarely follow the fan-TL scene so I couldn't have known that either way so thank you for clarification :) I didn't mean anything offensive earlier, I was just surprised that he always defends them every single time on this forum :D Though I don't think that's because of his potential bussiness with SP, he genuinely believes in them from what I have seen of his comments on this forum :D Anyway, I don't really care, I was just curious a little bit about him, that's all :)

Maybe they feel like they need to be a counterweight to the many overwrought, badly informed complaints, lol - I don't even like SP that much and I still feel pulled to support them when I see so much wrong on the Internet.

There are more, just that none of them feel like wasting their time doing stuff like this anymore because it's a pointless endeavor.

Well, sure I could criticize them for things, but 90% of the things people criticize them for are completely asinine things that would never generate any controversy had it happened from JAST or MG.  At this point the people that hate them only specifically look for reasons to hate them more instead of trying to think things through rationally.

Is this just for Nekopara 2 or all titles?  Can hardcopies for their titles only be ordered online through Kickstarter now?
