Nosebleed
Well, it's official, twitch will no longer allow people to stream any games rated as Adult Only on their website in order to, and I quote, "create a safe, welcoming, inclusive community platform where everyone can feel comfortable and have fun". ( emoticons probably implied) Before this used to be a case by case thing with Twitch deciding wether or not a game was too explicit to stream, but now they've made the change to encompass all games that fall under the AO ESRB rating as well as other country's regional AO equivalents. Most people are speculating it's because of the Hatred controversy and Twitch doesn't want to be involved in it so they banned AO games altogether. This doesn't apply to M Rated games like Grand Theft Auto. So yeah if you were thinking about streaming some Neko Para or something, think again. Eclipsed
Rip time to move to hitbox Check out ef - a fairy tale's ESRB rating http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis.jsp?Certificate=33508&Title=ef%20-%20a%20fairy%20tale%20of%20the%20two&searchkeyword=

Narcosis
Implying Twitch was ever good to start with. Awful servers, bad support and overbloated UI. It's their choice to force censorship but that choice will lead them only to lose more of their userbase. RIP Twitch, t'was fun while it lasted. sanahtlig
So social repression is being further ratcheted up through stricter enforcement of censorship. Lame. I don't see what the issue is if the streamed content doesn't violate the terms of service.
TheFantasm
Meanwhile they still fail to ban streams of girls with everything but their nips showing. Hell, some of those "streamers" are partnered even. Cam girl streams are alright by Twitch, but games are a big no-no. They're clearly tackling the big issues.
Nosebleed
Twitch chat is a plague of people spamming faces where no one really has "fun" unless you go to the subscriber only chat where it's usually calmer. DDoS attacks happen all the time, no one is safe. As an example, last night I was watching SethBling stream and he (or rather the site he was playing on) was DDoS'd not even 30 mins in the stream. Girls showing off clevage and twerking for subs is allowed because it brings them money even though Twitch once stated this was not allowed and accounts would get banned for it. But AO games, that's clearly the worst thing happening on Twitch right now. And if you check the list of forbidden games, you'll see Manhunt and Hatred there, because this is clearly about the gratuitous violence games, it has nothing to do with people streaming eroge (though Sakura Spirit and HuniePop were already banned before this rule). So yeah, apparently the feature that warns people that a broadcast is for users over 18 is now not enough.
Deep Blue
nothing better than a good old censorship, there goes my wishes to stream Riana Rouge xD
Soulless Watcher
Honestly if you are young enough that you "need" censorship, because your parents can't be bothered to parent, you shouldn't be allowed on the internet in the first place. Nosebleed
Can I stream Skyrim with all my nude and porn mods though? Not rated AO by the ESRB, should be fine B0X0R
Ryechu
This doesn't bother me too much. They wouldn't let me stream my Huniepop anyway. Banned by name. Well played.
Abyssal Monkey
Honestly, there is nothing really new here. Twitch didn't allow nudity in the past (12 2-c) as far as I know, and that is mostly what AO covers, and wikipedia, as a non acedemic source even states that Hatred is only the third game to receive AO for just violence alone. Really, there is nothing new here, they are just making it official and clear, rather than having vague text about it. Blow this out of the water people, I can always make more popcorn while you waffle away at something that has been in place for a long time. But that's exactly what people are disagreeing with, it's clear they want to stream games like Hatred and Huntman, but now they can't, and that's what kind of sucks. Yeah it's a tiny amount of games, but they're still games people want to see nonetheless. AO should be allowed as long as they're not showing erotic content, that's what the "this stream is for people over 18 only" thing was invented for. Funyarinpa
I thought AO meant "Any One"... I was momentarily very, very confused.
Decay
http://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/articles/1992676-list-of-prohibited-games lol @ Sakura Spirit and all versions of HuniePop being prohibited. Sakura Spirit is especially dumb, do they even know what kind of content is in that game? Or did they see an anime butt and immediately let the banhammer fly? sanahtlig
The problem I have is banning streaming of AO titles when the stream itself contains no adult content. That's just senseless censorship. And banning Sakura Spirit is just stupid.
firecat
well twitch fails again, this can be an easy work around by just lying about the game title and twitch will never know.
