Hi folks, long time no see. With the recent announcement finally out of the way, I can talk about the future of this project, and the reason it has been somewhat dead for a while. As I start to move into official translation work, I can no longer continue working on fan translations, sadly. Not only do they take time out of my day that I could be spending doing official TL work, but they also put me in a bit of an awkward position, due to the legal grey area fan translations are in. It would be a shame to get in trouble, possily lose a job etc because of my involvement in fan translation. As such, I'll discontinue my translation work on this and other fan TL projects I am involved in.

So, what happens next? Well, I still have the scripts and tools, so if you're interested in taking over the translation, I'd gladly send over the scripts with the current progress. Just send me a PM and we'll talk.
For now I'll just leave the project like this, and wait to see if anyone wants to step in and take over. But, if no one does, I'll just go ahead and pronounce it dead. It is indeed a shame that it came to this, but I have to prioritize my future. Thanks for understanding.

    Summary
The story revolves around Narumi Kouki, a high school student who also draws a manga serialized in a weekly magazine. Because the manga he draws is a risqué romantic comedy, he keeps this fact a secret from everyone around him, with his younger sister Toa and his sister's best friend Mihiro being the only ones who know.

But one day, as the student council president Rokuonji Kaoruko is searching for male members for the student council, she finds out that Kouki is the manga's author. Kouki joins the student council in exchange for Kaoruko not revealing his secret. However, the vice president, Sakuragi R. Ashe, strongly opposes him joining, and in the midst of all this, various requests and troubles of students begin to pile up.

You play the role of Azai Kyousuke, the son of a legendary gangster infamous in the underworld. You spend your time listening to Bach, playing God at school and covertly working for your stepfather, a ruthless financial heavyweight. This idyllic existence is broken when two individuals appear in the city - a beautiful girl named Usami Haru with hair you could get lost in for days, and a powerful international gangster known only as "Maou". Almost without delay, the two begin a deadly cat-and-mouse game, bringing you and your friends into the crossfire. Plotting, political intrigue and layer upon layer of interlocking traps are the weapons in this epic battle of wits.
Kyousuke can meet and fall in love with one of the four main girls of the game: Tsubaki, Kanon, Mizuha, and Haru.

    ENDING GUIDE
This game was a thrill to play. G-Senjou no Maou offers you the chance to be with one of the four heroines in the game, with Haru's Route being that of the "True Route." At some point in the game, the choices will offer you the possibility to branch off the 'main story' (True Route) into one of the other three heroine's own route, leading the player to that heroine's Good and Bad endings. The main story doesn't go on after that. That's why it is the author's suggestion to play Haru's Route last.

My name is Tachibana Yuuji, a regular student with no particular plans for the future - until my parents left for Hawaii on a business trip last fall, leaving me in the care of my uncle in the wintry countryside of Hokkaido.
Small-town life on Japan's northern island didn't have time to get dull, as from the moment I got there I was reunited with my cousin and childhood friend Saki. She's pretty demanding, but when I'm hanging out with her and her school friends I don't mind; as I get close to them I feel like I'm finding a meaning in life that I didn't know I was looking for.

Legend says there is a flower that blooms here in the depth of winter... as the twilight deepens and a snowflake melts in the palm of my hand, I stand with a beautiful girl by my side. Will we be able to uncover its mystery in this fleeting moment?

"We are the team. Yes, it's like a community...."

There is a legend of a mysterious girl called "Girl A" who appears in the city and sings all night. One night, Akihito meets four boys and girls as if led by the Girl A....

There is no friendship nor trust between them, but they can control a huge iron monster as they like by combining their power. Since the day they get the power, their extraordinary life starts....

Akihito later knows that they will need to pay a price for the power. When the monster dies, their community will also disappear....

They decide to head for another world called Communet with a help of Kagome, a black witch...

Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order
1st Playthrough - Route for Heroine 1. There is only one insignificant choice. If you reach a bad end then it'll give you a fun lecture and redirect you back to the choice so don't worry.
2nd Playthrough - Routes for Heroine 2, 3 and 4 will be unlocked after the 1st playthrough. New choices will be available, so start from scratch and save at the choices you encounter to return to; because scene select will not work for you if you're going in an order other than Heroine 2 -> 3 -> 4. Lastly, remember to go through Heroine 1's route a second time for new scenes after the 1st playthrough!
3rd Playthrough - Route for Heroine 5 will be unlocked after completing all three routes above. A new choice will be available. If you choose the correct choice, no matter what other choices you pick afterwards; you'll still be locked on Heroine 5 no matter what other choices you choose.

There are a number of Bad Ends throughout the game but they are not important. If you do end up hitting a Bad End then the game will just give you a fun lecture and redirect you back to the choice you hit a wall with. It's actually pretty fun after hitting one so go find them!

Same issue here, also a lot of the wording is wrong, a lot of the choices shown here do not match with what the visual novel has.
    I fixed it up:

Loading from save 5 doesn't do anything even after reading through all previous endings, I did notice a branching point after you return the shard in the callander but the choice never shows up, does this mean loading from save 5 isn't the way to go about getting into Aine's route?  It almost seems like you need to start from the begining to get into her route.
It seems like the issue I was having was because I loaded a save file that didn't choose to return the shard in every choice thus is the reason Anie's route branch didn't show up.
All choices are now worded correctly has they appear in the visual novel.
I never make walkthrough guides here myself because I do not agree with their rules they enforce for making one and also the fact I lose ownership of my own thread which isn't right at all and no one should be okay with that.

The route which I played had H-Scenes I liked, somewhat rare in visual novels, largely because of the context. They frequently made sure to maintain consent during the act and one didn't just ignore what the other was saying due to their "urges" or whatever. They often experimented in their private life, and discussed what they liked and didn't like about it. It is strangely down to earth in a very enjoyable way.

Also the cut content is the prologue, common route and 3 character routes, you jump straight into Himeguri Taruhi route.  This is worse censorship then If My Heart Had Wings or any MoeNovel title.

Also, we plan to finish off the H-scenes restoration for the original Miazora. However, no promises on when that's gonna be. PULLTOP projects are just side projects at Alka, so they aren't the highest priority. That said, I have hopes that by the end of the year there'll be something more concrete about this. We'll see.

Calling it butchered is wrong, the translation is no where near as bad as If My Heart Had Wings (I agree there are some parts they could of did better but it's not unreadable at all), they didn't even censor sexual jokes or kissing scenes and there is even a hot spring scene that just has a lot of steam.
If you want to call something butchered then the Steam version of this https://vndb.org/v15064 is worse then any MoeNovel title.

The full patch has been released. However, there are still some minor texts that I couldn't find, so they're still untranslated. With that said, they're just some minor texts and won't impact your experience with the game.
Do note that our patch does not include any of the game updates, so you'll have to update them separately. All of the game's updates and appends are translated in our patch though.
Now, with the release of this patch, we won't be focusing on KnR anymore. The patch also won't get update unless there are some game-breaking bugs. Instead, we'll now focus on our other projects.
With that said, please contact us if you encounter crash or any other problem. We'll try to fix it as soon as possible (and if it's related to our patch XD).

This is everything from me for now. If you took your time to read that wall of text, thank you very much. Even if you didn't, thank you for showing enough interest to click on the thread.

While the duology isn't new to people who have a PS4 and played the games, the cruising onto PC on Steam is a big thing for those of you who prefer to do everything with their computer (including me).  A few days ago, these two games, which are very much a treat for those who liked the original game or anime, became available.
For those who have only watched the Utawarerumono animes (both of them), Mask of Deception covers the same area of the story as the second anime, albeit in more detail with some changes.  My personal opinion of it was that it was great... but I found myself wanting H-scenes about halfway through (too many mimikko and those mischievously erotic twins).
The second game (Mask of Truth/Futari no Hakuoro) is considerably more serious than the first from the beginning until the end.  As such, it provides quite a different experience.  For those who were annoyed by the sudden way the second Utawarerumono anime ended, this is a good way to see the rest.
For those who have already played both... well why not do so again?  I know I will.

Shaun reacted to ChaosRaven in Aokana Release by Nekonyan [UPDATED]
So, I've finally finished this VN. Though, I've only finished Misaki's and Asuka's routes, Rika didn't interest me and Mashiro, despite being adorable, was a bit too loli for me for a romance route.
Overall, this was certainly a well made VN, where a lot of effort was put into it by the creators. Not only in terms of art, but also the whole flying circus scenario was well-developed. Regarding the art, the VN doesn't only convince with its detailed backgounds that even include background characters, but also with its massive CG count. There are well over hundred of them and the flight scenes aren't even included in those. The flying circus scenario also lifts this above your average school life moege. Although some descriptions and diagrams didn't really make sense, the sport itself was well-thought out with specific rules, equipment, tactics and the whole media spectacle around it.
The quality of the side characters also deserves praise. Aoi was a convincing mentor, Saki an impressive opponent that really had a special aura around her, Madoka was just hilarious and Satouin not being a main heroine was almost a crime. But not only the female side characters did impress, Shirase was a pretty cool dude I could really imagine to hang around with and Shindou... honestly, he should have been the protagonist.
Which brings us to some of the not so glowing aspects of the VN. First and foremost, the protagonist. While he wasn't bad personality-wise, the VN clearly set itself a goal to bring Masaya back to flying, and to be frank, the VN completly failed in that regard, at least in the routes I played. The whole thing wouldn't have been so bad if they wouldn't rub it in your face the whole time. Everyone is literally worshipping him for his apparent greatness in the past, Irina even considering 'him' the only true opponent worthy to face Saki and everyone else being pretty much just small fry. You also see Shindou being a real team with Satouin and Rika and not just the lazy coward on the ground. I think I was still fine with it in the common route, but in the heroine routes it started to get really on my nerves.
Another negative aspect were some of the main heroines. I think Misaki and Mashiro were fine overall, and I really liked their funny interactions. But I have no clue why Rika was a main heroine. She's a rather bland character, not part of Masaya's team and doesn't even have a lot of screen time in the common route.
And there's Asuka, the supposedly main heroine. But even if she grows on you after a while, there are some aspects about her that just didn't add up. On the one hand she's introduced as being super-clumsy and on the other hand she's supposed to be the next super-genius. As a result you get some akward display of clumsiness with a Deus Ex Machina thrown in every now and then, like 'accidentally' making a back-flip out of full sprint. And it got even worse in her route when the duels with Saki develop more and more into over-the-top chuuni battles with glowing halos, teleporting and what not. And Asuka never really looked like the sporty type anyway. Her true and most admirable strength was her positive attitude and never-give-up mentality. They should have focused more on that and let her win against the odds instead of coming up with that whole Deus Ex Machina bogus. Misaki was a lot more convincing as genius girl hold back by lazy attitude.
Heroine ranking: Satouin > Misaki > Mashiro = Madoka > Saki >> Asuka > Rika
    Overall rating: 7/10
During the common route I had the VN still mostly rated at a 7.5, but the routes itself were a bit underwhelming, mainly because of the protagonist and the VN's obsession to make Asuka someone she really isn't. Nevertheless, this is certainly a good moege well-worth checking out, even if it doesn't reach 'very good' level in my book.

Shaun reacted to NowItsAngeTime in Bokuten - Why it's more than just a "dark/depressing utsuge" (A Non-spoilery Shill)
I've seen some comments and reviews posted that introduce the specific setting, characters, and story elements of this VN. This topic is going to be a more general/analytical writeup on the themes and overall presentation.
Now don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to downplay the dark/depressing elements. In fact, a handful of events may not be for the faint of heart, and the endings aren't always the happiest. However, mostly referring to these elements really downplays the true experience of BokuTen and may stop people interested from checking it out.
Bokuten actually has a good mix of legit emotional, heartfelt, heartwarming, and most of all, bittersweet moments. This might be an overused word to some people, but Bokuten is essentially a "Deconstruction" on the meaning of love and happiness. Moeges, charages, and even some storyge with romance tend to build towards some mostly happy ending where everything turns out alright.
Bokuten tends to ponder both the positives and negatives of a romantic relationship and what it's built on. Is truly getting together no matter what the best possible outcome for everyone? Who and what gets affected when you confess and/or get together? Can you really handle and love the other person unconditionally, flaws and all? All of these questions, and more, are potential themes to think about when you're reading through the story.
Similarly, it also raises the question of what the true meaning of happiness is and how to obtain it. This is a big theme for various characters.
In addition to these two important themes, Bokuten still has a lot of what it's in typical visual novels. It has comedy and lighthearted moments with some unique humor and some you see often (thank god there's no tsundere hitting humor). It has an MC that's oblivious to some romance, but obvious to everyone else. But the MC has a legit reason for feeling that way, and has much more personality (in a sarcastic/blunt sense) than others. If you've watched the Oregairu/SNAFU anime, think of him like Hachiman, but a darker take. Alternatively, think of him like Yuuji from Grisaia but instead of saying things to specifically troll and get on people's nerves, he is just that serious and to the point about what he thinks.
It also has a common route, but it's one of the most unique and interesting common routes I can think of in visual novels. While there are still slice of life comedy scenes as stated above, they aren't too long and each chapter gets to the meat of its drama pretty quickly. The common route is kind of a mix between Sharin/G-sen's chapter system and ef. The decisions you have to make can be difficult and the themes build heavily into what to expect in the actual heroine routes.
Speaking of choices, a big theme is the general grey area of what's the 'right' choice. Compared to most visual novel choices that are simply ways to get involved with heroines faster, every single Bokuten choice is a heavy hitting one that at least makes you think and there may not even be a clear right answer. Sometimes the characters struggle with these choices themselves without input from the player. Similar to real life, not every choice is just a simple way to get something. There may be sacrifice needed in order to achieve what you want.
In conclusion, while it is fair to call Bokuten a dark/depressing utsuge given how some endings play out, there's a lot more to it as stated above. If you're interested in finding a character oriented visual novel with more story than usual, but the utsuge comments deterred you, hopefully this post can help you reconsider. If you like utsuges and just wanted more motivation to read this, even better!
