  1. It's not quite true that we "forgot" about the Tsuriotsu translation. It's just that there has been some serious concerns raised about the translation quality. The lead translator is extremely bad at both Japanese and English from everything that I've seen. TBH, I've just been hoping that it would quietly disappear but that doesn't seem to be happening. I guess it should be added, eh.
  2. Then this just boils down to a lack of perspective. You can't see what value there is in a dub, so therefore there must not be any at all. The fact of the matter is that there is a very large number of fans of the Jessica Nigri version of Sonico. These are people who might not get a super sonico game if it doesn't have Jessica Nigri voicing her. Hiring her to do VA for the game is probably an inexpensive way to convince a large number of these fans to buy it. The thing is, all of the opinions you've been voicing lately have boiled down to "this doesn't appeal to me so therefore I think it's a bad idea and they shouldn't do it." It is still a selfish way to think and act, you need to realize that catering to your specific tastes only isn't always going to be the wisest business move.
  3. Sorry, but JAST is in no way obligated to work on the kind of projects you'd like and to be honest I'm getting sick of your extreme selfishness. And you are completely clueless if you don't see how this is a savvy move on JAST's part.
  4. steverowland 10 2016-05-30 The signs were already there.
  5. I'm curious what this mystery VN is. Natsuiro Kokoro Log?
  6. Whether or not a VN gets an 18+ release is up to the Japanese publisher. The only VN they've published with an 18+ version that didn't get an 18+ release was G-Senjou and that was due to the Japanese publisher not wanting it. Dovac has since mused about asking again now that they okayed an 18+ version of Sharin no Kuni. They actually do want to release 18+ versions of all their stuff so they can cash in on everyone who prefers them. SP has pretty much stopped talking "in code" about 18+ releases like Dergonu said they do, and are pretty direct about things. It sounds like they are going to announce multiple 18+ versions of their upcoming games at AX. If they say something wishy-washy about a release, then you should actually take that at face value. For Tenshin Ranman specifically, it sounds like they just might not know, yet. Ultimately, they can't talk much about deals still in progress. The big difference about SP from the other companies is that they don't always immediately negotiate for 18+ versions. It seems like they just try to cement whatever deal they can first and then negotiate for 18+ after, if it was left out. Whereas for MG and JAST, 18+ seems to remain a deal breaker for all games that have that. This flexibility has been pretty successful for SP so far, and Steam is way bigger than the 18+ market, so I can't blame them for that.
  7. Nah, I'm going to continue to insist that they ruined the pacing since that part of the game was already a complete disaster even without them. I just did not like the super flashback heavy storytelling. Even more of that would have been unbearable. edit: I'm the kind of guy who prefers character driven stories to plot driven stories, but... not like this.
  8. I actually am pretty sure that Zack Parsons has a real distaste for eroge, but that's neither here nor there. Something Awful's Hentai Game Reviews introduced literally hundreds of thousands of people, possibly even millions, to those games, and they would have otherwise never heard of them. The entire VN industry probably owes a lot to that series, even if it reinforced the stigma among outsiders. Also, they were hilarious. Back to the point, I don't know about any official work Aroduc was attempting with Eushully, but I wouldn't be surprised if he tried, and predictably got shot down. From what I'm hearing about these summer conventions, pretty much anything is available for licensing these days, so who knows, maybe an official Eushully deal will finally be struck
  9. On the contrary, I pretty much hate any harem anime where there isn't actually a central love interest that wins out. If you're not going to go anywhere with the romance, then don't include romantic tension in the first place. That's just frustrating.
  10. The second game is actually a prequel story, primarily about the MC's history. It also has some bonus scenes for each of the heroines based on their routes in the first game, but it would be a stretch to call them continuation stories. At least, it's my understanding that they don't have any real substance to them and it's basically just the prequel story + bonus porn. For the third game, BookwormOtaku is right, it basically assumed that all of the major character dramas for all characters have been resolved by Yuuji, but no romance actually occurred in the process, and takes things from there.

The Fuwa Old Gods Sealed Deck Tourney is over at long last, after many delays. And the winner is... yours truly! I triumphed over @babiker in the finals 3-0, thrice defeating his C'thun Priest deck in a show of 100% pure skill. In accordance to tournament rules, @Zakamutt shall henceforth be known as Avril Lavigne's #1 Fan. The weebs in the HS skype group don't understand my highly sophisticated pop culture references, but I'm sure you fine folk would. Y'all should join the group so you can participate in the next tournament, it's fun. I think our tournament organizer, @Jptje, is cooking up some kind of 2v2 tournament structure? idk.
  12. I missed that the Steam store page is already up: http://store.steampowered.com/app/485040 BTW, Famitsu reports it will be $39.99 USD. Yikes. I get that this apparently isn't some low budget short title, but that's still way too much for a VN no one has ever heard of that was only announced a week prior to release. Kindred Spirits is the closest analog, they had months of pre-release hype and a slightly lower $35 price tag, on top of the novelty of having uncut adult scenes on Steam. Basically, what I'm saying is RIP Nurse Love Addiction. Also, wowzers, that UI is HUGE. It's like they designed the UI for my grandmother.
  13. http://store.steampowered.com/app/485040 https://vndb.org/v16610#main Yeah, so this is coming out of nowhere. Licensed and published by Degica, the folks behind the Muv Luv Kickstarter, yet seemingly advertized nowhere other than Famitsu. The english title will be "Nurse Love Addiction," and it will be on Steam June 16th, seven days from now. I don't know much about this, the art looks kinda cute and it's medium length with several girls, so it seems like it has some meat to it. You may recognize Kogado Studio as the developer behind Symphonic Rain, by the way. Most of their VNs have some form of gameplay to them, but this one seems to have so such thing. So yeah, that's happening. I guess sometimes it's nice to just get a release without being bombarded by months or years of hype. edit: Replaced famitsu link with the Steam store page since that's up and I missed it before.
  14. Deal. On the caveat that you accept an uncut release with mosaics as "full."
  15. Ellipses overuse has been a pet peeve of mine for years and years now. I actually find myself using them more in internet conversations after editing a super ellipsis-heavy work and I hate myself for it. Speaking of, expect a shitload of them in Dracu Riot. At this point I think it would be more effort than it's worth to right that wrong.
  16. So you'd back it if it didn't have indie in the name? That's a rather pedantic principle.
  17. Well, if the vertical lists were all "top is most important, bottom is least," and the horizontal ranking options were all "left is least important, right is most," then that's pretty much how surveys are done and my results should check out.
  18. Wait, really? Umm, I may have given them the complete opposite of my actual opinions in a few cases.
  19. That forum has also been around and named various farcical things for like a couple years now. It's a project that has been in the works for some time.
  20. You shouldn't be taking those forum names with any amount of seriousness whatsoever. There's an extremely good chance the game being referred to as "Kamidori 2" isn't Eushully at all.
  21. Not really. The Xtend Episode primarily consists of content that was previously in Route D but they moved it to its own thing because it hurt the pacing too much. It's also just a series of scenes you select from a menu.
  22. Ain't no E route here. Unless you count the Epilogue.
  23. Here's an example of one of the vocal tracks:
