Am I cool now? 'Cause I feel really, really cool. Gosh. I scoffed at these things when I realized how much they cost. "100$ for a pillow case? What the hell is that shit." So worth it. Love it. But finding a pillow to put it on was awful. Ending up having to make one with my mom.

This list won't feature the VNs in order of "how good they are". Rating them would be way too much of a clusterfuck to me. The VNs are not in their respective order. Meaning number 1 is not the best, and so on. 1_CHAOS; HEAD 2_Cross Channel 3_G-Senjou no Maou 4_Fate/Stay Night 5_Forest This Visual Novel is the easiest visual novel translated to get a bad ending without using a walkthrough- which just adds to the fun of it. It makes a massive amount of references to common literature, which makes it even better. 6_Katahane It may seem like an ordinary moege- the atmosphere is light, the story is full of cuteness, which you can note by the character design and soundtrack. It gets really good in the middle, and you'll be dying to know what happens in the end. A game with multiple perspectives, it's definitely one of the most enjoyable Visual Novels I've ever read. 7 Majikoi 8_Little Busters! 9_Tsukihime "You shouldn't tell lies that you can't even fool yourself with" 10_Swan Song A post apocalyptic Visual Novel. 11_Symphonic Rain It may seem like your ordinary moege. Trust me, it's not. 12_Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo (and sequel) 13_Sekien no Inganock Steampunk. An atmosphere full of mysteries and references that will make your head blow up. 14_Steins; Gate A visual novel that deals extensively with time travel and it's consequences. 15_Utawarerumono 16_Fault: Milestone (1 & 2) 17_Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni 18_Kara no Shoujo 19_Umineko no Naku Koro ni 20_Planetarian 21_Ever 17 Another top 10. 22_Remember11 It lacks in the ending, but otherwise the story of this VN has enough to easily become one of my all-time favorites. 23_Zanmataisei Demonbane 24_Rewrite "Could it possibly be rewritten, this fate of hers?" Another one that enters the top 10. 25_Narcissu 26_Grisaia no Kajitsu 27_Saya no Uta Only if you enjoy dark and messed up settings. 28_Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni 29_Eien no Aselia 30_Rose Guns Days (1 & 2) There are small sections of gameplay on this one, but you can skip them by pressing the space bar, so this still qualifies. 31_Sengoku Rance I feel obliged to comment on this VN before suggesting it to anyone. It's an Alicesoft title, which speaks a lot for itself... If you don't know how it's going to be like, well.. Kind of tough to describe. Lots of sex, including comedy rape. Alicesoft tends to make the whole story a comedy until right near the end, where things actually do get serious. It's worth checking out, if you don't mind Rance's personality. 32_Phenomeno Want a short VN that can captivate you for their whole duration? Here is it. Visual novel adapted from the youth horror novel written by Hajime Ninomae and illustrated by yoshitoshi ABe. 33_Ef- A Fairy Tale of the Two 34_Dysfunctional Systems Another one great for those who want short Visual Novels. 35_Daibanchou Another Alicesoft title. While Rouga is not near Rance's level when it comes to pissing off people, alicesoft's style is something which often doesn't please people. 36_Yume Miru Kusuri The endings pack quite a punch. 37_Kikokugai- The Cyber Slayer 38_Eden 39_Hoshizora no Memoria 40_Katawa Shoujo Yep, it's somewhat overrated. Still, the fact that it is substantially easier for those who are starting to play visual novels to read should not be discarded, and overall, the story was good. 41_World End Economica 42_YU-NO 43_Shikkoku no Sharnoth Yep, there is a minigame on this one. If you download a save data you can skip the minigame, though. So it still qualifies. Another VN that enters my top 10. 44_Muv Luv Alternative The first Muv Luv didn't have enough to enter this list. You should still read it, though~ MLA is definitely awesome. 45_Dangan Ronpa 46_Comyu - Kuroi Ryuu to Yasashii Oukoku 47_Hanachirasu 48_Ayakashibito 49_I/O 50_Deardrops

Whether they suffer by the lack of voice acting or not, I think we can all agree that they're always better with voices (unless they do a horrendous job at it, of course). Umineko was also one of the VNs that worked perfectly fine without voice acting, but damn is it better with them in the PS3 remake.

The reason the protagonist is almost never voiced is so you can feel like you're the center of attention yourself and not just a reader. This is something i've always despised. You can disagree but i never saw myself as the protagonist. I don't try to pretend I'm there and all the characters are talking directly to me. I've always read a VN and thinking i'm sort of a mediator or a narrator or even an omnipresent being of sorts. I'd honestly like to see more voiced protagonists because that's what makes a complete story because the protagonist is a character and it should be given credit for it. When you give him/her no voice it feels so lacking and unfullfilling and he/she just becomes this blob of inexistence.

I'll repeat my recommendation of the Secret Game series from above, but I'll also recommend Harumade Kururu (this game is a serious mindfuck, though its beginning doesn't show it) and Natsukumo Yururu (same company). Most utsuge don't quite make it onto the mindfuck train, because confusion often takes away from the emotions they are trying to induce. For utsuge, I'll recommend Konata yori Kanata Made again, as well as Boku ga Tenshi ni Natta Wake (this one has some mindfuck, though it is relatively minor). Konakana is an emotional hammer, but Tenshi is significantly darker, because of the hidden aspects that are only revealed near the endings.

Anyways, I've been free now so I decided to pass by the forums, and since I'm a polite person, I'm saying hello to all the community of Fuwanovel . As you can see from the topic's name, I know spanish since is my first language (I'm chilean btw) and I've been in the Visual Novels' world since 2010 (or something like that) when I first played Tsukihime. From that moment I fell in love with the genre, being one of the things I enjoy the most in my free time. haha thanks..and sorry for off topic.. i should of actually mentioned that i do like romance and that its my favorite, but i dont like the type of romance where there is a subtle sense there...i like the romance like, Aishiteru ze baby, Suzuka, SOA...You know, the type where you can actually feel it, aswell as a sub genre of drama really gets it for me..(For got to mention another example, Eureka 7 my favorite). Anyway thanks and sorry xD.

I read VNs because of the story only, so I don't like the romance unless it adds to the other genres (like a romance making a sci-fi scenario get more tricky, or when having a romance with someone has heavy implications in society, it changes a lot of things in fantasy scenarios, etc). I can accept romance in "normal" settings if the story has a great drama, too. But yeah, overall, I think it could be removed from a lot of VNs, since it often feels too forced. Romance is not the kind of genre that I like, I guess.

Remember this advice to keep your data safe: "If it's not backed up, it's not data you want to keep." If it's a removable hard drive consider getting an SSD instead, those are much more shock-resistant (they have their own disadvantages, but being irreparably damaged in one drop isn't one of them.)

Yep, that's the way they handle some problems on recovery companies. However you have to find a disk from the same series as minor differences exist between them. And also you need a special screwdriver that stops once the screws reach "perfect stability", or it'll be uneven and the platters will wobble.

im busy also crying over a lost Drive..a few months ago i lost my 2 Tb drive to a malfunction, my computer picks it up but lloses connection ..so i cant recover it myself, but my dad is in It and says that if i find another drive like mine , we can swap out that main bored for power with this one and it should work... Not only the price, the time it takes unless you're willing to "buy priority". If you want to risk the data on the disk just to save over some files, depending on the error a hard drive can get a short revival after a day in the fridge.

Amaranto Summary Amaranto is a yuri visual novel by Trifolium Garden. Set in a post apocalyptic world, the plot has a somewhat fantastic and mysterious vibe. The story follows Mio, who tries to unravel the rumors behind several murders happening in her district. Set in a world split into various districts, the story begins with Mio and her childhood friend, Shizuku, going to school. At school, they talk to their friend, Yuuki, about rumors regarding several recent “vampiric” murders and a girl in white. Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order Shizuku's, Ayaka's and Azoth's routes can be done at any point, and Ria's route can only be done once you've finished the other 3. I suggest you start with Shizuku's route, and then if you are interested in the other characters or the setting, do the other routes, and if you're not interested - just move on. All you'll be missing is a bit of backstory and some yuri CGs. Alternatively, do Shizuku's route third, so that you do her route last(not counting Ria's), like a true route. I like JAST kind of out of a combination of nostalgia and the good games they release are worth playing. On the other hand though their slow release schedule (I honestly think we'll have all seen Avengers 3 on DVD by the time Seinarukana releases) doesn't do them many favors in my eyes. I like Mangagamer better since they have a pretty solid release lineup every year and the fact that they're a lot more open with their customers than JAST helps too. I also like MG kind of has a "can do" attitude about their localizations which kind of helps give them an image as the company to look to for potential localizations of an eroge you really like *coughKyonyuuFantasyseries*; JAST has more of an image of "appreciate whatever they can release" which was fine a decade ago but now...

I'm sorry but you are misinformed. The reason why ef took so much time to be released was not MangaGamer fault. Minori was the one taking care of the builds for it so that MangaGamer could test them afterwards. The problem is that Minori took a long time to send each build. For example, if you look at other titles MangaGamer releases, you won't see them taking this much time. Oh, and before you mention something about Chou Dengeki Stryker also taking a long time to be released, the reason is because the game is still with Overdrive to finish scripting. Again, this isn't within what MangaGamer has control. But of course that the customers usually don't know this. Regarding Da Capo III, as already said, Mangagamer is working on it. In fact, after the moment they sent the C&D notice it became obvious that they'd be releasing a localized version of it. Have you heard about Da Capo III anime? The Da Capo III anime just covers the prologue of the VN. MangaGamer staff already said several times that the script is as big as Koihime Musou. Doddler even twitted about it some weeks ago (December 13 to be exact). Also, for translation consistency, only one translator is working on it. If MangaGamer didn't release nukiges they'd probably be out of business by now or would be just another JAST taking a long time to release VNs. It should be obvious by now that above all, JAST is interested in making profit of each title. To complement, as far as I know they have very few staff members. Going back to MangaGamer, the fact that they release a lof of nukiges certainly gives the impression to newcomers that they're simply a porn company and basically don't release story titles. This is why so many people support MangaGamer re-branding itself which I agree. The current market (reads: people who actually buy story VNs) isn't big enough to support the continuous release of story titles. Of course not! Take Eroge! ~Sex and Games Make Sexy Games~ as an example. I'm pretty sure I haven't read to this day a more erotic VN than this one. Oh they were good days! Btw, it's good the see a fellow Portuguese (yes, from Portugal) around here.

It's always a shame when a company drops a project that's loved by the fans. Honestly i prefer MG due to the service they provide and they're good at what they're doing which is selling uncensored eroge to the world Jast usa is not trying to sell uncensored porn and that's the difference so it's hard to compare both but i would say that jast is probably trying to invest in something that will bring them the most profit (like S;G which has a massive fanbase). Keep in mind that, no matter the company, ,the VN industry isn't massive and the western VN market is even tinier. According to Jast they did not go for this project due to high costs. That in itself explains how small the company is. It is sad but money is the winner here and it always will be. Is it wrong to have fancy tastes in porn? I'm quite picky with my eroge and nukige too. Always fap fabulously.

All the VNs suggested already are all really good reads and are VNs that I'd also recormmend but I'd also like to add If My Heart Had Wings http://vndb.org/v9093 I think the art is really good and the story itself was funny and enjoyable. Though it won't really have you break down in tears, it is a fun and light VN to read.

I am not a cry baby, but I don't know what these VNs got that made me really cry. G-Senjou - I started crying from the beginning of the epilogue until the very end. Chaos;Head too, and even Steins;Gate (I was like "WTH KURISUUUUUUU *sobs*" and then...)
