  1. Our game has been updated to version 1.1.0 and it is now also out on Steam! We'd appreciate it if you'd check it out and let us know what you think! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2128560/Mycorrhiza/ Version 1.1.0 features quite a few exiting changes, most importantly achievements that let you keep track of whether you've found all of the game's secrets! It also launches with a 20% discount, just in time for the spooky season.
  2. Mycorrhiza - Welcome to a world of distorted minds Our horror manga inspired visual novel was just released and I would love to introduce you to it! It's also 20% off to celebrate the game's Steam release! Project description Mycorrhiza is a love letter to horror manga in the form of a visual novel. Some of our biggest inspirations include the works of Junji Ito and Masaaki Nakayama. While Scott is trying to find a way back home, reality distorts and people’s morals start shifting in cruel and unexpected ways. A peculiar plant transforming animals, a horrifying comedy trend and a strange building trapping people. Each of the three arcs explores different terrors. As you explore this terrifying world, you'll find out more and more about how and why Scott is trapped in it and what lead up to Scott being spirited away. The game features a manga aesthetic with CGs and character art drawn by a manga artist, a focus on elaborate audio implementation, as well as an honest attempt to make the game accessible by providing visual audio cues and a dyslexic font option. Join us on our adventure into despair. 3. Mycorrhiza is a love letter to horror manga in the form of a visual novel. Some of our biggest inspirations include the works of Junji Ito and Masaaki Nakayama. While the protagonist is trying to find a way back home, reality distorts and people’s morals start shifting in cruel and unexpected ways. A strange plant transforming animals, a strange comedy trend and a strange building trapping people. Each of the three arcs explores different terrors. The game features a manga aesthetic (with CGs drawn by a manga artist), as well as a higher focus on dynamic audio. The first arc is available in the demo. It features the aforementioned plants that transform people's pets into monsters and how these monsters are used by the pet owners to terrorize their neighbors. Arcs two and three will follow over the course of development. We would really appreciate if you would share some feedback with us! Is the horror manga focused art direction of the game effective? Is the audio direction fitting and immersive? Did you find any bugs? Every bit would help us out a lot! 4. These past few months me and many other musicians have worked together to create the second iteration of last year’s Visual Novel Audio Pack. With the help of everyone involved we’ve managed to create a huge pack, just in time for this year’s NaNoRenO! Included in this pack are: - 6 standalone tracks (three of which with vocals, all perfect for opening or ending sequences) - 21 loopable pieces (two with vocals and instrumental versions, one being a loopable variation of one of the standalone tracks) - 9 ambiances That's 36 files in total! All these works can be used under the following licence: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/ [CC BY-NC 4.0] Make sure to read the ReadMe for instructions on how to credit us. You can download the pack by following the link below! https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MEn2DyA4inESlubfMatLJ64GX9D1-D1c?usp=sharing And you can check out what pieces you can find in this pack in the following showcase video: We wish you lots of fun with these and hope that this will make your VN dev life a bit easier ^^ You can also check out last year's Visual Novel Audio Pack over here: https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?t=48443 Huge thanks to all the collaborators! ------------------------------------------------- Visual Novel Audio Pack Vol 2 Project Lead: Tim Reichert Composers: Fogheart Hibana Kuseki Red Robotix Simpsonill Sorven92 Tim Reichert Instrumentalists and Vocalists: Devon Fogheart Hibana Kyrja WinterdrivE Sound Designers: Tim Reichert Cover Art: InstantRiot
  5. My name is Tim Reichert, I'm also known as FulminisIctus, and I would like to offer you my services as an audio director! I’ve been active as a musician in the indie visual novel scene for over half a decade now, mainly focusing on music composition but also doing a lot of sound design, voice over editing and taking on individual tasks that fall under audio direction. I also make music tutorials, have spoken at the visual novel conference and regularly help out by tutoring or answering questions of fellow musicians or devs thanks to my experience in the scene, which further adds to my potential as an audio director. Why should you hire an audio director? An audio director - makes sure that the quality of assets stays on a consistently high level and that their direction stays on track to make sure that elements such as genre or instrumentation are consistent - handles the mentoring and instruction of audio personnel - searches for and hires audio personnel - works together with the other departments, this way for example assuring that the art and audio fits together or working out ways to enhance the audio expression through programming - creates resource lists and works together with the lead director to set the audio direction - acts as a liaison for the communication between lead director and audio personnel This of course doesn’t mean that I need to take on all of these tasks. The lead director can for example of course still take on hiring themselves and within a small team it might not be necessary for the audio director to act as a liaison between the lead director and audio team. In a video game firm you have an audio director (sometimes this position is split into a music director and a sound director) so that the tasks are better distributed and the one working with the audio personnel is someone with the necessary knowledge to be able to instruct them. It’s not much different in an indie team. I know many game devs who have voiced their concerns about not being able to give good instructions to their composers because they lack the music theory and audio production terminology and knowledge and these problems can definitely result in a more difficult working experience for both parties. Same for finding and hiring the right composers, being able to differentiate between qualitatively great and passable audio assets and giving instructions on how to improve said assets. With this it doesn’t even matter too much if I, as the audio director, were to only direct a pair of musicians or as much as a ten man audio team since I would either way be able to make communication much smoother and take some of the most difficult and potentially frustrating audio related tasks off your hands so you can concentrate on improving and working on the game in all the other areas. Payment: My current goal is furthering my portfolio in audio direction, which is why I’m happy to take on free and revenue share positions. Contact: I'm best available per E-Mail (contact[at]tim-reichert.com), but you can also write me a PM if you'd prefer that. Feel free to check out my website if you’d like to learn more about me: https://tim-reichert.com Please let me know if you have any questions!
  6. I recently released my album "Hope and Despair" and I would love to share it with you! It is split into two halves: One with the theme Hope and one with the theme of Despair. The Hope part consists of cute and electronic tracks, while the Despair part consists of dramatic and organic pieces. The split was inspired by Danganronpa, which has a similar theme with its OST consisting of cheerful and more VN typical pieces, while also having dramatic and despair inducing tracks. The voice actors Reichuu and Aldon Jacob, which you might know from other projects, also lent their voice for the Future Bass inspired track "Soda". You can either listen to or buy the album on Bandcamp, CD Baby, Amazon or more; or you can stream it for free on YouTube Music, Spotify and Deezer! Just follow this link: fanlink.to/HopeAndDespair Let me know what you think, every bit of feedback would be highly appreciated! It seems like the fan favorites so far are Cotton Candy, Soda and Scissors. I would love to hear which ones you like the most!
  7. I've just released my free Visual Novel Audio Pack and thought that you all might be interested! I'm especially proud of it because I got the chance to collaborate with some awesome singers on stylistically totally different songs, which can be used for opening and ending/credits sequences. Included in this pack are: - 14 Pieces; - 3 Songs (each with a TV length (->shorter) and a full length version); - 10 UI SFX; - 12 Transition jingles; - Convenience Store Audio Pack (3 Pieces, 12 SFX); - Horror Piano Audio Pack (5 Loops, 8 SFX); - Simpsonill Pack (1 Piece) You can download the pack by following the link below! https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1d4cOFw_pr6Gh_hUid6S88WFwz7XrFFOe?usp=sharing The SFX can be used under the following licence: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ And the music can be used under the following licence: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/ If you're wondering who created the character illustrations: They were all made by asabuchuo-tdi! You can find more of their work over here: https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=45306&p=472044 It's not a requirement but feel free to let me know if you've used a track in your project, I'd love to play it! You can also listen to all the pieces and songs on soundcloud without having to download them first ^^
