Katahane
        Summary
The story takes place in a world with 3 kingdoms: the Red, White, and Blue Kingdom. In this world exist highly-advanced dolls, some of them closely resembling humans. These dolls occasionally need maintenance, a task performed by a “tuner”. A young playwright named Wakaba wrote a controversial play about a traitor named Ein who killed the ruler of the White Kingdom, Christina. In Wakaba’s play, she presumes that Ein did not betray Christina, but was actually her loyal supporter. Cero, a friend of Wakaba, needs to make a trip to get Coco, a doll that lives with him, maintenance. Wakaba and her brother Light decide to come along with him. Wakaba travels in the hopes of finding some actors for her play. Along the way, they meet a beautiful doll with one wing named Belle and an aspiring actress named Angelina.   Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order Katahane is a very simple multiple perspective Visual Novel.

There is a particular feature in this novel called ACV (Another Character View) that appears at random stances. Changing the selected character means that the next prespective change will be that of the character you selected previously. To get certain routes you need to change the character prespective as indicated in the guide. That is all, on with the walkthrough.   Route Guideline

Lucy -The eternity she wished for-
Summary
In the near future, androids have become the way of the norm. Emotionless husks of metal have become a part of human society, much to the dismay of the boy. The robot he found at the dumpsite though, this one was different. It laughed, it cried, it smiled, it has dreams, just like a human…

Lucy The eternity she wished for is a Visual Novel, about a boy and an android. You play as the boy, who faces decisions and moral dilemmas in this near-future world. This is a story that has touched many hearts and continues to have a strong impact on those who partake in this compelling journey.'

Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order
There are only 2 main ends to the game (and one extra ending) and from all my testing, they all depend on the very last choice you make, so if you want to go blind into it, it's a fairly safe thing to do because the last choice is quite obvious.
The vast majority of the other choices in the game are mostly for unlocking CGs and specific scenes, some of which unlock achievements.
Since there's only one major path to take, I have designed my walkthrough so that you can unlock the most achievements with one single playthrough. I will mark all the choices that unlock an achievent with underlined text. If you wish to do your own thing, you'll have to replay the game later to get the remaining achievements.

Tay removed most of the fun threads.

Including Fuwanovel's deepest, darkest, most well hidden secret.

And I was even planning on selling the info... much sadness.

Nosebleed got a reaction from droganpc in New Profile Fields [Accepting Suggestions]
Hey let's blow the dust off of this subforum for a bit shall we?
I noticed we haven't really updated the profile info since... Fuwa was made basically (other than that one time we added Steam to user profiles). I figured I'd go ahead and add some things users might want.
List of things added so far:
Twitter has now been added under Contact Methods  Anilist, ANN (Anime News Network) and Kitsu (formerly known as Hummingbird) are now options for those that don't have a MAL account Transgender, Other and Attack Helicopter are now available gender options Projects has now been added under Profile Information where you can specify whatever VN projects you work (or have worked) on. This isn't for me alone though, so I decided to make a thread and ask for people's suggestions regarding what other fields might be useful to have in their profiles.
Important note:
These are small fields that will go either under your contact methods or your profile information section. They're meant to be short. Preferrably things like the username you have on the respective website or something along those lines. Because of this, things like Youtube channels have already been ruled out due to the URLs being too long. Keep that in mind when suggesting.
Furthermore, make sure that your suggestion isn't just for you but is actually something legitimately useful for the users on the forum.

They've recently incorporated this feature so I figured it'd be useful to share if you didn't catch it.
You can use the "Release Filter" instead of, or in conjunction with, the "Visual novel filter" when browsing visual novels to more accurately look for translations. The visual novel filter will only give you visual novels that have a language listed (it could be complete, partial or TBA) but the release filter lets you specify if you want a completed translation or not, it also lets you specify if you want only English licensed VNs or translation patches.

Nosebleed got a reaction from Kei kun in Dracu-Riot! Completion Project
Dracu-Riot! Completion Project
Project Info:
As i said in a previous post, if the Dracu-Riot scripts were released, I will translate Miu's route, and that's exactly what I'm announcing in this thread.
But I'm not alone in this crusade, I've partnered with the wonderful people at The Oxford Comma is Superior Subs so we can deliver the best possible final product and lay the Dracu-Riot memes to rest. We also got several people from the Fuwanovel community to help speed up things even more.
How is the project going to go down, you ask. Well you can read this post if you want detailed info, but the tl;dr version is that we are aiming to release multiple patches.
The first patch aims to translate the remainder of Miu's route as well as any remaining untranslated content (images, menus, etc.) with complete editing to polish the current patch.
We are going to try and release this in about 2 months, if everything goes according to plan.
The second patch is meant to be more heavily translation checked as that's when Fiddle has enough free time to go over the whole game.
There is no ETA for this second patch.
This doesn't mean the first patch will be terrible, we will of course strive for a good product, but we would still like to inform you of our schedule. If we waited for Fiddle to be completely free, it would take much more time to release Miu's route, and so we've decided to do it this way.
I hope you look forward to future updates.
FAQ:
Why not just make a Miu partial patch, why do you want to go over the whole game?
There are actually 3 main reasons for this:
The first and biggest one is that Insem's patch only works with the physical version of Dracu-Riot! which is very hard to get in the West and we want to make a new patch that works on both the physical and digital versions of the game, this way people can purchase the digital version and patch it, thus supporting Yuzusoft. The second one is that we want to americanize the writing style as well as make sure everything is edited properly, because Insem didn't have time to finish the whole thing. The last one is translation checking. Although we don't doubt Insem's abilities, we really want to try and make sure the translation is accurate. We also want to include translation notes in the game. Only 2 months? That seems way too fast.
2 months is indeed fast, if we were translating the entire game, but we're actually only translating about 4,000 lines and we're splitting those lines between two main translators, this will hopefully make that 2 month deadline possible.
Please do note we will not jeopardize translation quality for the sake of reaching the deadline. If we can not make it in time, we will delay the release until we're satisfied with the end result.
Will the translation have memes?
Yes, but only the dankest ones.
Why aren't The Oxford Comma people making the announcement here?
So I can get those sweet, sweet internet points.
I want to help!
Contact @Fiddle and beat him in a pipe bag showdown (plaid skirt is mandatory).

Nosebleed got a reaction from Cryptic_MGTOW in Forum Rules
Forum Rules

While Fuwanovel is all for discussion and having fun, we still wish to have a regulated atmosphere that's not harmful to our users, these rules are meant to keep said atmosphere on stable levels. Please read each point carefully.
Fuwanovel's number 1 rule is Respect and Civility.
Don't personally insult anybody. Don't be a troll or promote misconduct. Don't bait or harass any user or staff member. We take these offenses very seriously and we hope our users respect this rule above all else.
General Forum Guidelines
These guidelines are meant to be followed when posting on our forums.
Don't embed explicit hentai images or videos on posts/threads, use Spoiler tags/URL form instead and tag it as NSFW. Don't advocate for any real-life crime. This is taken very seriously and will likely result in a permanent ban. Don't post any real life pornography of any kind. Don't provide or request illegal sources for copyrighted material, use legal sources instead. Don't spam the Recent Topics box. Don't post content you know might offensive to someone or a group of people. Don't post staff PMs in public, if you have any issue with how the staff carried something out, talk it out in private with a moderator instead. Don't bring personal issues in public, if you and other user(s) don't get along, please don't bring your strife to the forum. Don't promote or link to fan translations that either cost money or require you to make money for the patch creator to get. This includes things like patreon-only patch releases and using ad-infested link shorteners for downloads. Global Moderators and Board Moderators are responsible for carrying out the rules and it is up to them to interpret them and carry out an appropriate punishment for each situation.
Lolicon/Shotacon Policy
Pedophilia is an extremely complicated and sensitive real-life issue, and presents a significant challenge to visual novel communities who want to promote thoughtful discussion but are faced with strict laws on one hand and deplorable internet rhetoric/insensitivity on the other. Many of you are aware of how far back and how divisive this issue has been. To protect the site from legal action and to resolve this issue once and for all, we have chosen to amend the site rules as follows. We're trying to strike a delicate balance here -- acknowledging this is part of the VN medium, and sensitive discussions of these topics are important.
The new policy: Fuwanovel is not the place to discuss the nuances of pedophilia – in real life or in entertainment. Because they are a part of the traditional VN heritage of Japanese games, we acknowledge that mature, focused discussions of “loli” characters and routes within a visual novel are valid, and we will allow them within the Visual Novel discussion boards, but beyond those confines, Fuwanovel is just not the place for this topic. We have also clarified our rules for posted or linked images of "lolis" on the boards, which can be read below:
Brass Tacks:
If you want to discuss a “loli” character or route in a visual novel, you can do so in the VN boards with the caveat that crude, inflammatory, provocative or aggressive posts will be grounds for a topic’s deletion, without warning Outside the realm of Visual Novels, Fuwanovel is simply not the place to discuss this complicated issue, and we ask you to avoid casual references to-, or discussions about-, pedophilia and the sexuality/sensuality of underage people or characters. This includes avoiding discussion or mention of porn- or sex-simulation games featuring underage or underage-appearing characters to the forums.  Rules for images, avatars, and signatures: Do not post sexual pictures of underage characters. If an image is focused on, accentuates, or exaggerates a character's nipples, vulva, or penis or positions them sensually (body position, wet panties, nearly naked, etc.), you should not post it and it will be taken down. No erotic form Toddlercon is not allowed. Post will be taken down and you will either get warning or ban. Attitudes of the staff vary significantly on this issue, but this policy is presented – purposefully – without moral commentary. This is a tricky issue which presents real risks for the stability of the site, and ensuring the community’s longevity simply has to come first.
Thread rules These rules are meant to keep threads as clean and free of trouble as possible.
Please try to keep responses on-topic and meaningful. Don't derail threads. Don't spam threads. Don't double post repeatedly. Don't post for the sake of posting. Don't necrobump threads without the intent of continuing the discussion. Don't post seizure inducing GIFs without a spoiler and a warning labeling it as such. Any posts that are seen to fit in these categories or seen to be harmful to the thread risk being moved or deleted, or at worse getting the entire thread locked.
Additionally some boards have their own specific rules, please see related topics inside each one of Fuwanovel's boards (they are usually pinned at the top).
Blog Rules
Blogs are meant to be personal and we try to respect everyone's rights to write about the things they like, however if a blog post is seen to break any content rules, staff holds the right to delete the entry as they see fit.
Signature and Avatar Guidelines
No explicit nudity (genitalia and female nipples are in this category) No avatars or signatures featuring sexualized loli/shota characters No pornography (this includes implied sexual acts and bodily fluids) No gore (disembowelment, dismemberment, torture, etc.) No offensive content (profanity, hate speech, offensive symbolism, etc.) No seizure inducing GIFs (or GIFs that make people's eyes bleed in general) No signatures exceeding 400 Kbs in filesize Reporting Content
Whenever you come across content on the forums which breaks one of these rules, please report it using the report button underneath said post and explain why it's breaking the rules.
Any member, no matter how new, has the right to report posts.
You will not be punished for reporting any post, even if your report is deemed unjustified*
*While reporting a post is fine, spamming reports in order to troll/abuse the report system is not and can lead to you to getting a warning.
In case of doubt:
If you have any doubts about how to proceed in any situation or if said situation is not listed here, please contact one of the online Global Moderators via Personal Message with your inquiry. Global Moderators have a blue usercolor at the bottom of the forum for easier identification.
In case none of them are online during that time, the list of Global Moderators as well as the rest of the Fuwanovel Staff can be found here so you can message one of them.
Rule Enforcement
We trust Fuwanovel users to keep their composure when the situation calls for it. In any case of a serious infraction a Global Moderator is responsible for carrying out an appropriate punishment that can handle the situation effectively for both sides.
Smaller punishments like revoking the ability to post content for a period of time can be given out if the situation calls for it (namely for spamming and trolling), without granting a warning point if a Global Moderator sees fit to do so.
Warning Points are only given out to reoccurring or serious offenders that do not heed either rules or previous warnings. A Global Moderator is in charge of deciding whether or not a user deserves a warning point.
Global Moderators are free to give harsher punishments like suspensions if they clearly notice the violation is severe or has ill intent behind it.
There is a 3 Warning Point cap and when a user receives a 3rd warning point, they acknowledge they are putting their account in jeopardy and risk being banned permanently.
Do not evade bans, if you create a second account to evade your ban, you risk getting it lengthened.
If you feel you were not justly banned, you can PM a Global Moderator with your reasoning and that Global Moderator will bring it up for discussion with the rest of the staff to see if it is valid or not.
In case a warning point was given out and a ban is proven to be unjustified, your warning point will automatically be revoked.
In case your ability to post content was revoked and it is proven to be unjustified, it will be rectified.
Username Changes
To prevent user-confusion, the ability to change your username at whim has been removed from the user control panel. To change your username, please PM one of the global mods with your desired new user display name and your reason for making the change. Username changes require a strong reason and motivation to be changed, and will otherwise be denied to prevent confusion on the forums.
User Title Changes
User titles (the titles you see below your avatar) can be changed at any time by making a contribution to the community.  Here are a few examples of ways to help out.  When you've completed your good deed, please report to a Global Moderator, who can make the change for you.
Assisting in coding projects and/or working on the front site; Helping with forums projects; Writing a walkthrough for a game; Writing an article for the Visual Novel Aer blog; Posting 500+ posts on the forums (posts in the "Coliseum of Chatter" do not add to this count); Or something else you can think of! Note: Users with 500+ posts have, in simply posting so regularly, helped to build the site.  Thank you for your contributions!  We hope you'll keep it up.  These users can change their user title at any time from the user CP.
Definitions
These definitions serve as guidelines to define certain types of content. In case of doubt on whether or not something fits within one of these categories, a Global Moderator can make the judgement call.
Spam
Content without any purpose, coherency or relevance whatsoever.
Singular spam posts are deleted without warning. If a user makes many spam posts in one thread or singular spam posts across many threads, then they are subject to a punishment.
Threads or blog posts made for self-promotion (such as links to off-site personal blogs) should be limited to one (either a blog post or a thread) per product being promoted, because such promotion is more easily perceived as spam.
Derailing
Going completely off topic in a thread, this can result in the thread being locked or moved to a more appropriate section depending on whether or not it's salvageable.
Harassment & Abuse
This involves aggressive pressure or intimidation and can based off of things like racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, etc.
This will never be tolerated anywhere on the forum, even in private messages, and severe punishment will be applied to any cases of it.
Posting for the sake of posting
Posting several times in a thread without trying to move the discussion forward and only to increase post count and/or to troll/spam.
Necrobumping threads without the intent of moving the discussion forward also falls into this category.
NSFW
Content that is too sexually explicit or excessively violent that could offend certain age groups.
For something to be sexually explicit it must show either genitals, female nipples or sexual acts.
Trolling
Starting arguments or upsetting users by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages with the intent of provoking users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

Insults
An insult is a derogatory remark that labels an individual or group of users. Name-calling is not productive and typically derails the topic by turning the discussion to the credibility of the user(s). It never convinces the other party and often provokes a similar reaction from other posters. The resulting commotion is ineffective for the offender, offensive for the target, distracting for spectators and tiring for the staff.

Nosebleed got a reaction from LanThief(HUN) in Gaming Board Rules
The purpose of this board is to discuss anything gaming related.

This forum is for:
Any game related topics (Video games, board games, TCGs, etc.). Any gaming news topics. This forum is not for:
Talking about VN content. Forum games (like the "Battle of the Fuwa Guilds" or the "True or False" game). Some other rules:
Please have common sense when posting, don't make several threads for the same game, don't double post, don't derail, etc. Rant/Rage threads (like the Gamergate thread) are allowed as long as they don't turn into spam or hate threads. It's fine for gaming communities to have their own thread for their game but please remain on topic when posting.
PS: This sub board is currently in testing phase to see how well it's recieved, changes to the rules may still occur later on, feedback is also appreciated.

Nosebleed got a reaction from Delusional in A Guide to BB Codes on Fuwa
I'm extremely bored so I decided to make this. there's really no deeper meaning behind it other than it might be helpful to some people.

This post details all the types of embedding and text formatting you can do on Fuwanovel using BB codes.
I'll be including even the basic stuff you can do on the text editor for people that may use the forum on mobile devices (since there's no editor there).

I hope you may find something of use in some of these though~

Text formatting Codes
Text properties
Text Makes the text bold Text Makes the text italic Text Makes the text underlined [s]Text[/s] Makes the text struck Example:

Font Size
Text Changes to size 8 Text Changes to size 10 Text Changes to size 12 (Normal size) Text Changes to size 14 Text Changes to size 18 Text Changes to size 24 Text Changes to size 36 Text Changes to size 48 Example

Text alignment
Text This sets the text to the left Text This centers the text Text This sets the text to the right Example

Text color

Note: All color values are in hexadecimal so make sure you know your hexadecimals if you're trying to manually set colors.
Text Changes the text color (to red in this case) Text Changes the text color (to green in this case) Text Changes the text color (to blue in this case) Example

Alternatively You can also replace "#color" in the following code with one of the preset colors (just copy paste them) Text  List:

Text font
Text Sets the text to Arial font Text Sets the text to Comic Sans MS font Text Sets the text to Courier New Text Sets the text to Georgia Text Sets the text to Lucida Sans Unicode font Text Sets the text to Tahoma font Text Sets the text to Times New Roman font Text Sets the text to Trebuchet MS font Text Sets the text to verdana font Example

Special BB Codes

Hyperlinks Text Hyperlinks the text or image that's between the code. Example:

Twitter linking
[twitter]Twitter User[/twitter] Will hyperlink your twitter to your user and add an @ in front. Example

Spoiler Tags
Text
This will spoiler the text Example

Horizontal Rule
will add a line that extends across the post Example

Lists
This code will make a list with bullets

One
Two
Example

Acronym Code
[acronym='Acronym meaning']Acronym[/acronym] Will give a definition of the acronym when you hover the cursor over it Example

Member Code
[member='Fuwa user'] Will automatically generate a hyperlink to a user's profile Example

Embedding

Embedding images Note: Make sure your URL ends in either JPG, JPEG, PNG or GIF Example

Embedding .GIFV and .GFYCAT

The forum software supports gifv and gfycat format, just paste the video URL and it should auto embedd.
If it doesn't, use the media code.

Please make sure to spoiler these in order for them not to auto load/loop on slower devices.

Note: Don't hotlink gfycat videos , they will not embed. Just use the regular gfycat page URL (one that doesn't end in .webm)

Example:

Embedding videos (only works for youtube and Vimeo at the moment)

All videos from Youtube or Vimeo are automatically embedded on Fuwanovel if you just paste their URL so you don't need a code.

Example

Embedding MP3

All Mp3 URLs are also automatically embedded onto the forums.

Note: The URL must end in .mp3 for this to work.

Example

Note: If you want to just link any type of media in URL form, you can use the hyperlink code.
http://randomurl.mp3 Example

Embedding Flash
Will embed anything flash If you want to edit the dimensions you can do so by replacing #width and #height with the desired values Example

Remember these are just the basic codes, you can combine them to do all sorts of stuff too but I'm not going to get into that too much.
Just make sure that when you're combining you don't mess up the order of the codes, particularly with Special BB codes
So for example if you want to hyperlink an image, you would use Never [IMG]http://randomimageurl.jpg[/IMG] Example

And that should cover just about everything you might possibly want to do when formatting a post, though if I missed something, feel free to let me know.

Nosebleed got a reaction from phantomJS in Ikinari Anata ni Koishiteiru discussion
The heroines aren't your standard tsunderes, they seriously all come off as spiteful people that just want to beat the crap out of you whenever they see your face. You are literally considered a cockroach to them and the only time they show hints of love is when they've beaten the crap out of you and then pretend to be "sorry" but just proceed to add insult to injury later on. I know sometimes the protagonist deserves it, but sometimes they just want excuses to beat you up, it's completely ridiculous and stops being funny after the first 10 times.
I don't know how anyone can lump these girls in the "just tsunderes" category, I legitimately thought this was a VN about bullying when I first read it because that's all the heroines do to the protagonist.
The common route is a hollow shell of nothingness, I don't know why it's there other than introducing the characters and giving you a basic plot to branch off of.
The heroine's routes barely change from the common route because the heroines keep being extremly rude people, way past the "just tsundere" line, they literally come off as hating you at times, not that hate where you can see the love behind it, just pure hate. The game tries to make up for all the shit the heroines have done by throwing them into h-scenes with you where suddenly your japanese chinpo makes them go all sweet and shy (quality writing right here), but I genuinely don't think the pain that comes before that is worth the effort.
Maybe I'm the only person that was amazed at how horrible of a person each heroine in this game really is, but even if I forget about their personalities, all the stories are awful and don't feel connected in the slightest, everything just feels thrown in and makes absolutely no sense in terms of narrative.
Saying this game is "below average" is being extremly kind, imo.

I'm pretty sure that's not the argument here.
We're talking about whether or not it was rape, not whether or not this scene existing is okay.

Enjoy all the rape in VNs you want, but don't attempt to arbitrarly change the definition of rape.

I think the only problem here is how this scene is so exclusive to VNs, it would never happen in real life.
By real life standards it's rape, but by the VN's setting it's probably some weird thing we don't have a term for.

The plan is to list down legal sources where one can watch anime and read manga/light novels and support the industry as much as possible instead of using illegal sources.
If you wish to contribute to the list, please post in the thread or PM me so it can be added.
Other mods are free to edit the list as well, although I would appreciate it if you could check the box that shows you edited it.

Anime
Streaming Sites
This might be a good place to start to see if the series you want is even available for streaming.
Crunchyroll (Subscription based. Usually tends to have most of the recent shows. Offers subs in multiple languages) Funimation (Subscription based. Offers English dubs for a lot of the recent anime) Daisuki (No subscription needed. Streams worldwide with possible restrictions) The Anime Network (Subscription based. Streams worldwide I think? Possible restrictions) Hulu (Subscription based. Streams in the US only) Netflix (Subscription based. Streams in some regions depending on the show) VizMedia (Hulu based so same thing as Hulu) Non-english streaming websites:
Wakanim (French, has subscription, non-subscription and VOD offers) ADN (French, subscription based) Both My Anime List and Anime News Network have also recently partnered with some of the above sites to stream on their site as well.
Buying Anime
There are several sites and stores across the globe that probably have some anime in stock, so you should always check your local retailers first. Also check anime databases like MAL or ANN for the official licensing companies as those are usually the ones in charge of providing the product directly to their consumer.
The most useful sites tend to be Amazon and RightStuf.
AmiAmi also tends to have the most recent blu-ray releases, often the limited editions as well. Note these are strictly in Japanese.
You can also use Amazon Japan if you have a proxy or a forwarding service that can get you your stuff.
Manga
Before you do anything, Manga Updates is an awesome database to find information on the publishers of any given manga/manwha/manhua/light novel, including webcomics (something a lot of other databases leave out) so you might want to look up the title you want there first and foremost to see if it's been licensed or where it's being published.
Digital Manga
Crunchyroll (Subscription based. Usually up to date. Available worldwide. Has an iOS/Android app) Book Walker (Commercial. Offers Light Novels too. Has an iOS/Android app) Book Walker JP (Same as the above but offers only Japanese manga and light novels. Has a bigger catalog though) Kodansha Comics (Commercial. Offers lots of both digital and physical manga) Comic Walker (No subscription needed. Is often out of date though) Comic Walker JP (No subscription needed. Much more up to date but offers only Japanese manga. Also has links to purchase) Viz (Offers usually both digital and physical versions of their manga, usually through Amazon) Shounen Jump (English simulpub of Shounen Jump. Available in English-speaking countries only) Amazon (Commercial. Amazon often tends to offer digital editions of the manga in their catalog) Amazon JP (Only Japanese manga, usually the most recent stuff. You'll need to have a Japanese amazon account) Physical Manga
Amazon (Usually people's number 1 site for purchasing both physical and digital manga) Book Depository (Free shipping to a lot of regions. Is also a regular book store) RightStuf (For some reason the manga is under "Graphic Novels) Kodansha Comics (Offers lots of both digital and physical manga) Seven Seas Entertainment (Has quite a wide range of retailers) Amazon JP (Only Japanese manga & books. Usually the most recent titles are on Amazon JP and amazon does ship manga and books internationally) Honto (Only Japanese manga & books. Ships internationally, often said to be cheaper than amazon JP) Light Novels
The subreddit /r/lightnovels has a very extensive list of upcoming releases with several purchase links so feel free to bookmark that page and follow the sub if you're interested in keeping up with the latest stuff.
I would once again heavily recommend checking out Manga Updates to see if the light novel you're looking for has been licensed in English, and if so, by which company, before you start googling away.
Light Novel Licensing Companies
Yen Press Vertical One Peace Books Tokyo Pop Most of these companies end up selling their books through third parties like Amazon or Book Depository
Region Restrictions
A lot of these publishers, mainly anime streaming sites, often have restrictions depending on the region you live in. However, you can always use a VPN service to change your IP address to the respective country where the service is available, which more often than not tends to be the US. Some sites only require your IP address to belong to that region during the sign-up process while others always require you to have that IP address when viewing their site.
"But isn't VPN illegal?" you may ask. Yes, in theory changing your IP address is illegal, however you're supporting the industry by purchasing or watching/reading from any of these sites, so I think most people would agree that it's a lesser evil for a greater cause.

Nosebleed got a reaction from Fiddle in Nosebleed's Guide to Ero Audio
I pondered for a while whether or not I should make this, but I figured it can't hurt that much, right? Hopefully some people will find it useful and maybe others will discover a new medium they never thought they'd enjoy before.
Let's start with the basics then: What is audio porn?
As the name implies, it's audio-only pornography. No images, no videos, just sound.
Isn't that for visually impaired people? How does this work for me?
This is for anyone who enjoys stimulation through audio, not just people who can't use their sight.
Sounds can cause all kinds of reactions in a person, and some of those reactions can be a state of arousal. You might be familiar with ASMR, which are audio tracks with all sorts of different sounds meant to trigger certain physical responses in your body that help you relax. Audio porn follows a similar principle, except the intention here is to get your nether region worked up.
It sounds really boring though, what does this type of porn provide?
Audio has one advantage over other erotic mediums given that it's not bound by visuals. What I mean by that is everything plays out in your head, not in front of your eyes.
With anime, manga or visual novels you see the events unfold in front of you and you watch them, but with audio by itself you can get your imagination working and make the track adapt to your tastes much better.
Think of it like when you read a book and all sorts of settings pop up in your mind, that's what audio does in this case too.
Isn't it the same as just listening to some H-scene in a VN?
On the contrary, it's everything but that.
Audio porn (at least the good tracks) utilizes techniques to enhance the listening experience for you so it doesn't feel like you're listening to someone else having sex but rather that someone is actually there with you and you're being affected by their actions. You can have tracks that really know how to mix the audio to make a realistic surrounding effect, giving you the idea that the person in the track is closing in or getting further away from you, among other things, and that's the type of stimulation audio porn seeks to achieve.
Visual novels and anime aren't designed to be listened to in great detail, they're meant to be watched, and because of that they're not very catered to your ears.
But audio porn is hand crafted to be a one of a kind experience for your ears to savour.
Okay, I guess I could give it a try, where do I start?
Well I'm glad you asked!
First off let me get this out of the way really quickly: I will only be dealing with Japanese audio tracks.
Because everything in Japanese, there's two major implications when it comes to erotic audio: You need to have at least a vague knowledge of basic hentai vocabulary. Without any prior Japanese knowledge, it's unlikely you'll be able to enjoy most audio works with any form of dialogue. HOWEVER there are audio works that primarly feature sound effects rather than dialogue, so you can probably still enjoy those, you'll just need to be on the lookout for which is what.
Let's start with the best place to find this type of content, and the one I personally rely on: http://www.dlsite.com/
Why dlsite? Well first off it's the place where all the main doujin circles go to to sell their amateur works digitally, and also because it's really foreigner friendly, seeing as they even have an English version of the site where you can buy this stuff too, and yes, the prices are the same on both.
For the purposes of this guide though I will strictly be using the Japanese version of dlsite. The reason is simple, the Japanese version of dlsite is the most complete version that has all the available products. Some circles don't make certain products available on the English site, either because they don't want to or because they forget that it exists (it's often the latter).
When it comes to voice works, from my experience, the vast majority (over 90%) of the audio tracks available on the JP store are also available on the ENG store, so it shouldn't really be a problem regardless of which one you choose to go for.
Basic searching

When you go on dlsite.com you want to hit 同人作品 (Doujin works) on either the pink column on the purple column as those are the two sections where you'll find most of these things.
The pink side is for a male audience and mostly features works with female voice acting.
The purple side is for a female audience and mostly features works with male voice acting.
If you're curious on the rest, the green side is for all ages products and the light blue side is for a gay male audience.
The red side will take you to the English versions of each store (the adult store includes all adult products both for males and females)
I don't want to make separate sections for each since they all work the same way so for the purpose of the guide I'll consider we picked the male side.
So the first thing you want to do is click on 検索 (search). Yes, you technically didn't type anything in the search bar, but that's okay, so long as this is what shows up after:

In order to filter things out, you have to click on 検索条件を変更する (change search criteria) on the bottom right corner of the search bar.
Scroll down and click on the 作品形式 (Work type) tab as seen here and once it opens you can to select 音声作品 (Voice works), this will bring up every product that is voiced. However, some applications and other things like PDFs might pop up, so we want to filter those out since we're only looking for audio tracks.
On the same page, scroll down to the ファイル形式 (File type) section, right here.
Once you open that, scroll down to the オーディオファイル (Audio files) category as seen here. I just select the whole tab by checking the box next side the tab name,  this will make it so that your search only shows products that are strictly based around audio. However, if you want specify formats like MP3, you can also pick the files you want from the list.
Once you're done with these steps, just scroll down to the big orange box that says 検索 (Search).
The final result should be a search bar that looks like this:
Now if you want you can stop here and just go on your merry way to browse all the voice works available from most recent to oldest.
You can also organize the results by the following criteria if you open that scroll down menu:
発売日が新しい順 (Newest) 発売日が古い順 (Oldest) DL数が多い順 (Most downloads) 価格が安い順 (Cheapest) 価格が高い順 (Priciest) 評価が高い順 (Most positive ratings) レビューが多い順 (Most reviews) Not very hard now is it?
Stuff to pay attention to before you buy anything

Now let's imagine you found one that seems interesting. When you open the product page, here's the things you want to be on the lookout for first and foremost:
Genre (ジャンル) This is where all the main themes of the product will be listed. I'm not going to translate all of them, but if you don't know Japanese, you can easily put them on Google TL as they're usually just one common word. For example, this is where you'd find stuff like "incest" or "blowjob", if the track had those things.
Sample clip Not all products will have this option, by the way, but a lot of them have a preview box at the top of the description that lets you play a small clip to see if you like it. I strongly advise you to do so before spending your money as you may end up regretting it if you don't like how it sounds later on.
Audio quality When you listen to the sample clip, check if there's background noises, if they properly utilize the left and right channels, if there's voice distortion, etc.
Basically look for stuff that doesn't sound like it was recorded with a cucumber inside an elevator.
The best tracks will have very little background noise even when the person recording is completely silent and they'll give you a good illusion that they're actually moving around you or are getting close to you. The bad tracks feel like you're listening to a drama CD and not to a person sitting next to you, they generally just use surround sound for the whole thing and it's not that pleasant to listen to.
Length Almost every single product has its length listed in the description, what varies is how they display it. They either do it track by track or have the full length of all tracks combined.
If you can't read Japanese, again Google TL should suffice to help, just look at the last track on the list and see if it's just the title of the track or if it says something like "total amount".
Examples:
In this case the creator only lists all the tracks in this work. All of the names before the time stamps are track titles, which means the total length is all those values combined.
In this second case all the tracks are still listed but on the bottom you see 合計 (Total amount) which is all of the previous time stamps added up.
The time stamps might show up in Japanese format. If they do, just know that 時 is hour 分 is minutes and 秒 is seconds. In the above example the total is 58 minutes and 29 seconds.
Lastly, still regarding the length, check each individual track's title, which usually will describe what the track is, and then see how long it is. This way you can know how much time the product will spend on each thing and you can look for stuff that spend more time on the stuff you want.
And of course it's ultimately important to know the length because you want to know if the money is worth that amount of time.
Specs As with anything you buy, always check the specs at the bottom. Of course, since these are audio files, you don't really have "specs", but it's still worthy to scroll down and see what the hell you're actually downloading.
Voice actors Every single product lists down the voice actors that worked on it. It's useful to know because a lot of these people are freelancers who do commission based work  so they're not bound to one specific company/circlle. And if you know their names you can search for other products voiced by them, in case you really enjoyed someone's voice.
The voice actor is almost always listed in the description after the letters CV. You can just copy their name into the search bar and it'll look up works where their name appears in the description.
Circles and Series Of course if you end up loving a track you will likely want something similar to it again, this is when looking up the circle or the series the track belongs to is helpful.
On the product's page, the circle is listed after サークル名 (Circle name)  and the series is listed after シリーズ名 (Series name).
The circle is the group of people (or the person, in case of a solo circle) who made the product, so if you click on it you'll be looking at other works they've made.
The series usually includes other works of similar nature, or even sequels/prequels to a certain product.
Searching for your fetishes

So we now know how to look up voice works on dlsite pretty effectively, but the reason we're here for is to listen to those fetishes we're really into isn't it?
Well fear not because searching for your fetishes is easy peasy, you just need to specify the search filters a bit more.
Once again click on 検索条件を変更する (change search criteria), and after making sure you have the audio options selected, you want to go to the 趣味嗜好 (Preferences) tab, and here you'll find all the tags available on dlsite to filter your search with.
You have 2 first options:
いずれかを含 (Look for products that contains at least one of the selected tag)  全てを含む (Look for products that contain all selected tags) I wouldn't recommend using the "look for products with all these tags" option though because sometimes the creators forget to list down some really specific stuff and then it might get filtered out despite having that kind of stuff in it. Although generally speaking, if you use the more broad tags, which in time you'll notice there's a lot of common ones, you should have no problem since they're widely used.
Then you have the tags themselves. I'm obviously not going to translate all of them and I would hope that you can use google translate if you really can't read any of it. I don't suggest using the English dlsite store for comparing the filters because some of them are not in the same order.
However I'll translate the main categories if that'll help:
こだわり/アピール (Focus/Appeal) - Basically the really generic themes, I don't suggest using these アイテム/道具 (Items/tools) - Stuff like glasses and sex toys キャラクター (Character) - Everything related to the characters themselves, these are the filters you're likely going to want コスチューム/衣装/職業 (Outfits/Occupations) - Mainly relevant for visual works, not for voice works シチュエーション/系統 (Situations) - Basically the setting of the plot, possibly not too relevant プレイ/えっち傾向 (Type of sexual play) - Again one you'll likely want to use. 外見/身体的特徴 (Outter appearance/Body features) - Not really relevant for voice works either 残酷系/異常系 (Brutality/Weirdness) - This is for the fucked up shit like ryona and guro, again not relevant for voice works Usually voice works use character and sexual play tags so I recommend focusing on those.
One last tip! As I mentioned earlier, a pretty decent amount of the releases on dlsite JP are available on the ENG version of the site as well and there's actually a really easy way to check if the product you want is available on the English vesion.   Open a product on the JP site and go to the URL which should end with RJ and then some numbers. Simply change RJ to RE (J is for Japanese and E is for English) and go to that URL. If there's a page for it on the English version of the site, it will immediately show up with everything translated (albeit poorly translated but what can you do), this should help you with some of the earlier steps like trying to translate tags and descriptions.   Example: How to make the best use out of your tracks.

If you have half a brain I'm sure you know how to listen to music on your devices, so this isn't much different. However, there are always a couple things you can do to enhance your experience.
It's important to note that each person has their own way of dealing with this stuff so take everything below with a grain of salt and do what you think feels best!
Make sure you're alone. I shouldn't have to tell you, but even if it's audio-only, this is porn. Wear headphones with good isolation. The less real life noises you hear, the better your immersion will be. Close your eyes. This is an audio-only medium, there's no need to have your eyes open as it can be distracting. Turn the lights off. While closing your eyes help, being in complete darkness increases the experience even more. Don't skip around. Be patient and don't skip the track, it will just break the immersion and the narrative. Follow the story. I'm not going to teach you how to masturbate, but I'm just telling you things feel way better if you go at the story's pace. Fun fact: listening to some longer tracks where the girl in the story makes the protagonist (you) climax multiple times has taught me about my refractory period pretty well. If you're a guy, this is not a bad way to find how long will it take for you to get back in it again, if you find that kind of information useful at all.
If you take too long to do it a 2nd time, I suggest always waiting until the last bits of the track to actually finish. There's usually pretty good verbal indicators that the scene is about to reach it's climax, so make the best use out of that.
Wasn't this just a guide on how to use dlsite?
I'm sure you've realized most of this post was on how to properly use dlsite's features, but there's actually a very good reason for that, and that is dlsite is the only site where you'll be able to search for voice works accurately.
What I mean by this is that even if I wanted to Google things just to pirate tracks I want, without dlsite I wouldn't be able to know what the track is even about, let alone search for things with my fetishes. Dlsite exponentially opens the doors for you with tons of tags and products to look through and that's something you will never get anywhere else, so that's why it's so important to learn how to use it if you want to get into the medium.
As a closing thought, I don't want to lecture people on the morals of piracy, but I'd like to point out that all these things are self published works produced by small doujin circles that do all the recording, mixing, funding, etc. by themselves. Most tracks (including good ones) will cost you about 6 bucks and even the longest, most well produced ones will probably only be around 10 bucks, so there's really no reason not to support these people when they're making their work and talent available for such a low price tag. I can't count how many great freelance voice actresses I've managed to find through this medium and buying the works they make and be able to support further tracks makes me feel like I did something to help the world.
AND THAT'S ALL!
This ended up being a fairly wordy post but honestly, it's really not that hard to look this stuff up once you learn how everything works, I just thought I'd explain literally everything there is to possibly know in case someone who's never used dlsite reads this. I hope this brings a new medium to some people who might enjoy it.
And even if this post ends up buried and nobody cares about it, at the very least I can feel proud of myself for having written something this big.
Tfw your longest post in ages is about audio erotica.
Have fun with your faps, Onii-chan.
Time to go to bed now and re-think my life.

Nosebleed got a reaction from Zakamutt in Some Useful Tools to Help Read Manga/Books in Japanese
So we all know there's multiple ways to help us read Japanese VNs by now. All Japanese VNs have text you can grab and display, which makes them an easy target for practicing reading. There's one downside though, visual novels are typically incredibly long, especially if you are a beginner (yes, even the shorter ones can take a while to read if you're inexperienced). I always thought this downside affected lots of people that wanted to practice reading but didn't have the time/energy to read through an entire VN in Japanese to start with.
However, other mediums like manga and LNs are much more difficult due to requiring you to either constantly look at a dictionary or just know all those kanji from memory (with the exception of manga that have furigana, but those are usually aimed at younger audiences and might not be the most interesting). It felt unfair that such fun media couldn't be used as easily to study Japanese.
Well luckily yesterday I was talking to a friend on discord and fanboying over the Monogatari Series with them and they ended up showing me a few tools they used to read LNs, and after that I myself looked up for ways to read manga in Japanese, and thus we come to this thread in which I'm hoping to share something useful with those of you who wish to read these mediums as a way to practice Japanese.
Note: If you know any other/better software, please by all means share it!
Kanjitomo
Kanjitomo is an incredibly useful software to read manga on your computer. It detects kanji/words by simply hovering over them with your mouse. But not only that, it gives you the reading/meaning of those words/kanji. And lastly, if it fails to show the correct kanji, it shows you a list with similar looking kanji for you to browse, it also lets you edit the individual kanji contained in the word in case it guessed the 2nd or 3rd characters wrong, thus always letting you pick which is the right one.
Some screenshots:

Advantages:
Easy word lookup Very customizeable Let's you actually import images and scroll through multiple images in a single folder. Also supports Chinese Disadvantages
Can get laggy sometimes (mostly on startup) The zoom feature can get somewhat annoying to control Although it lets you import files, I found the file viewer annoying to use and prefer to just use some other software to open the images Download (requires Java to be installed): http://kanjitomo.net/
JGloss
This software is primarily geared towards books. What it does is it lets you import .txt files (or copy text) and open them in the reader. After that it places furigana on top of all the words, and also creates a glossary of words on the right for you to look up if you need. One feature I really appreciated in it was that it only displays furigana for the first instance of a word only, forcing you to memorize the word after that (although if you want to, you can select the word and it'll look it up for you regardless).
Now you might be thinking, doesn't Translation Aggregator also do something similar? While TA does indeed have these same functions, TA is mostly practical for smaller chunks of text, not whole sections of a book.
Screenshots:

With translation enabled:

Advantages:
Easy way to read large chunks of text with furigana Can use different parsers. Can also place the English translation underneath the words if needed Creates a glossary of words for an easy lookup Pretty costumizeable interface (you can change the font/size/colors/etc.) Also works with German Disadvantages:
Requires you to copy the text or have a text file of the book you're reading, which doesn't always happen. Parsing is not perfect and you may find some weird results at times (but that's the same for any Japanese parser). It seems to have a certain limit of text it can display (I kept running into an error when I imported a lot of text), so you may not be able to import whole books but instead have to copy multiple chunks (they're pretty big chunks though) Download: http://jgloss.sourceforge.net/
Yomichan
Yomichan is an Anki add-on that lets you read text and look up words while simultaneously being able to create an anki deck for the words you want. This tool is incredibly useful if you want to study and read a book at the same time.
Screenshot:

Advantages:
Lets you read entire books at once (you can also copy the text) Very easy to create an anki deck with the words from the text Disadvantages
No furigana on the text itself  Requires you to have the book in a .txt file More useful for studying than actually reading Download (requires anki to be installed): https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/934748696
Capture2Text
Capture2Text is a simple but intuitive OCR (Optic Character Recognition) program that lets you select a part of your screen to convert into text. It's useful to grab whole sentences from a specific bubble of text or a sentence from a book and automatically copy them to your clipboard, which you can then use to do whatever. If you're a translator, it makes the script writing process much easier since you don't have to manually input everything.
(I don't really have any screenshots since all the software does is grab and copy text.)
Advantages:
Easy way to grab text from an image and paste it onto your clipboard (or someplace else) Works well in conjunction with other software like TA. Disatvantages:
The recognition can fail pretty hard depending on the font used (you can easily end up with scrambled jibberish) Download: http://capture2text.sourceforge.net/

I know it's not groundbreaking and it might not even be as appealing as just grabbing text in a VN, but I find manga and LNs very fun and less tiresome to read and so these tools come in really handy for that purpose.
Think of it this way, do you want to start practicing Japanese by reading an entire visual novel with more than a thousand lines from the get go, or would something smaller like a 20 page manga chapter be a little easier for starters? Of course, this doesn't mean you shouldn't try to read visual novels, they're great practice, but I think a lot of people lose themselves when starting off with them and perhaps these tools will help keep the focus on studying and memorizing things a bit more instead of just reading.

Hey, guy who is still working on this project here. Just wanted to inform people that we did not drop this, I just don't really come on Fuwanovel very often and don't update the thread because I don't feel the need to.
Of course I won't stop anyone else from attempting to TL this, but just wanted to let you know that we are still working on a translation for this game.

Nosebleed got a reaction from Veshurik in What are your thoughts on Sekai and other companies buying up fan translations
This won't "kill" fan translations so long as Japan keeps releasing games exclusively in Japanese, that's just a fact. Even anime still has fansub groups despite being much more widely available nowadays.
You have to understand most fan translators translate a game because they like it and want to share it with other people. If a company comes along that has the proper channels to make that game legally available in the Western market, there's very little reason not to accept such an offer.
Complaints are usually from people that have only pirated games before and are salty about having to pay money now.
Of course there are valid criticisms to be made in the actual localization processes for each game, namely the fact a lot of erotic content is being left behind in favor of all ages releases, but the concept of a company buying a fan translation isn't really destroying the world as we know it.
Also fan groups asking for donations are 10 times shadier than ChuSinGura's Kickstarter project.

The Translation Project
Plot Summary (Source: Hau~ Omochikaeri):
Shou and Ren arrived at a beautiful town full of colourful flowers. They met the three sisters Haru, Kotose and Yukina, who run the cafe “Famille”, and he starts working there in exchange for a bed to sleep in.
In the middle of the night, Shou follows Haru far away from the town to a hill covered with flowers as far as the eye could see. He watched as a little girl whom Haru was embracing turned into a flower under the large moonlit tree. She noticed his presence and smiled lonesomely while looking fondly at the beautiful flowers in full bloom.
“I have survived up till now in this world by doing this. But I still want to continue living… even if it’s in exchange for other people’s lives.”
Shou looked up at the petals which fluttered down and responded:
“No matter what this world forces upon you, no matter how many people won’t forgive you... I’ll still pray for this world to end.”
