  1. Yeah pretty much what Albedo said. I only read the first Day After volume and it was okay, not nearly on the same level as MLA or MLU but if there's no other MuvLuv left you might as well read it, once it gets translated, that is.
  2. To get the most out of MuvLuv and still not waste too much of you time, basically do *only* the two main heroine routes in Extra (Sumika/Meiya), then do one route of Unlimited (Meiya is recommended, but whichever you prefer), then start Alternative, which is linear with no routes. Extra is pretty short, like 8-10 hours, so reading is not a big deal. MuvLuv is a huge journey and in my opinion you're cheapening your overall experience/enjoyment of the trilogy if you don't start at the very beginning. Extra may seem banal at first, but it definitely serves its purpose in the long run and makes you understand why the MC reacts a certain way to things in Unlimited, and what he's fighting so hard for in Alternative. Once you get to a certain point of Alternative you might regret having skipped Extra. Just my 2 cents, like it was said above, it's completely up to you in the end.
  3. Do yourself a favor and play Persona 4 instead. It's a separate game from 3 story-wise and it also ditches the forced AI (you can control everyone manually). And play on the easiest difficulty, you don't need to grind that way and can just enjoy the story.
  4. Angel Beats, right? Anyway, from left to right: God is endlessly cruel, isn't he... He robbed me of all my happiness... Nah, it's just that... I kinda recall something like this happening while I was still alive. It was a really important game, too... I lost everything I held dear in a matter of 30 minutes... how can something that unfair be allowed to happen? I believe that my body* was able to save someone else. I truly do. Let me believe in what you've come to believe in - how wonderful it is to be alive. *(I think this is the guy who donated his organs after his death, so "body" is meant in that regard.) Something like that.
  5. Yeah, I guess I can understand how you feel. I've seen similar things on other forums, actually. I don't visit this place very often, but you have my support at least, for whatever little it's worth.
  6. I've been playing some Lords of Shadow but honestly I'm finding it quite dull. Hopefully it picks up in later chapters. Other than that I've been trying to play Raid Mode on RE: Revelations, but it's pretty much impossible to find co-op partners via Steam matchmaking. Very disappointing.
  7. http://www.ppsspp.org/ That one.
  8. My brother has the game and I've played co-op with him a couple of times. It's really fun and often challenging as well, so a definite recommendation from me.
  9. Edit: Just noticed I should include the JP script as well. Brb, fixing that now. Edit 2: Yeah I think I fixed that. Probably. I'm always looking for ways to improve/challenge myself, so this thread seems like a very neat idea. Anyway, here's my take on the DDC quote, or at least what I could make of it. It was quite difficult indeed, so I can definitely see why you'd rate it as an 8-9.
  10. Just finished RE: Revelations on PC. Very enjoyable overall. Might do some Raid Mode as well later. Oh god. Overkill much? =P
  11. I'm very strongly against literal translations and try to be a bit more liberal in my own work, even if I have to sometimes get rid of certain nuances. Of course, the final result should still give back the general feeling of the original, but I don't really feel it essential to follow the JP script word by word. Now, I'm not perfect by any means, but this is the general idea I try to follow to the best of my abilities. To give you a general idea (and it's probably better to just show it rather than spend several paragraphs explaining), some recent translation I did on Dies irae is a decent enough example of how I usually work nowadays: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3b1jXiVflI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YQffnEho-I
  12. It's a video not an image but since I dunno where else to post it's gonna go here. It's the most adorable thing I've seen in a long while. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byAfC5yW_hw
  13. Anime is mainstream nowadays and you generally won't get weird looks for admitting you like it. Something called "eroge", though... yeah, I can see that elicit some interesting reactions. I kinda dislike the term eroge because I suspect it contributed to the general misconception that all of these games are only porn with no story. As such, I disagree that the term eroge would describe the content better. With "ero" in the word, it gives the impression that porn is the focus (hence the misconception described above), while oftentimes it's not. (I'm aware of nukige, though) So yeah, I'm gonna stick with VN. Plus it's usually just reading, not playing like a "game.". As far as gameplay elements are concerned, I usually just refer to VNs like that as "VNs with more gameplay elements", simple as that. Honestly I'm not purist/elitist enough to really be bothered by what the Japanese call it.
  14. I don't believe we really talked at all but welcome back nonetheless.
  15. I just beat The Witch's House and I'm now extremely saddened by its super depressing true ending. I mean jesus christ.
  16. I only played VC2 for a couple of hours before I got tired of its overly happy-go-lucky setting. 3 had me hooked, it really has a much better atmosphere, and the protagonist + the two main heroines are also great. In general the whole Nameless squad is better.
  17. Assassin's Creed 3 on PC, Last Ranker on PSP. Occasionally some Valkyria Chronicles 3. Probably gonna give Summon Night 5 a shot once I'm done with LR.
  18. No, it's just FSN being insanely long.
  19. No offense but that translation is completely off, so editing won't really help there. =P See my post above or this link (basically the same as mine expect I interpreted 仏門 differently due to not knowing the context): http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=1841.15;wap2
  20. I like strong females, both mentally and physicaly. I'm not a fan of the overly girly girl damsel in distress type. Hence why my fav heroines are Meiya (from MLA) and Muramasa (from Muramasa). ...I do like tsunderes, though.
  21. That's definitely true, I was only referring to myself. I can understand why some people wouldn't like games without good, engaging stories.
  22. She's the main heroine of one of my favorite VNs, Soukou Akki Muramasa. http://vndb.org/v2016 Her name is Muramasa, sometimes referred to as Third-generation (Sansei / 三世) Muramasa.
  23. Tales of Hearts is already being translated.
  24. That's a pretty convenient family to have, haha. Well, at least you can enjoy them to a certain extent, definitely better than nothing.
