Regarding Shana
There's several problems
1) The ending to season 2 set itself up to be a conclusion, it felt like it ended there with

Shakugan no Shana is a big universe, yes, but Season 3 felt like it was trying to add everything into the mixture .

Yuuji's character in season 3 is so many tropes at once it's not even funny.
And this is not to mention all the background characters doing tons of other stuff.
It's just too much at once.

4) Season 3 was basically pointless because the whole conflict could have been solved just by being a normal, rational human being and talking it out. I won't spoil how everything got solved, but it's really stupid after all the bullshit they have gone through. The whole thing felt incredibly forced and for no good reason.

Even though all the stuff in season 3 is in the last light novels, even in the light novels that extension feels completely unecessary. And even if it was necessary, it didn't have to be this clusterfuck of events that felt completely out of place.

I think the "plot twist" of Yuuji switching to the other side with almost no explanation. ESPECIALLY the last few episodes which is the worst timing to introduce new characters as a climax and conclusion should be happening. Instead they decided to introduce a new character as many times as Shana says Urasai Urasai Urasai through the entire series...

 

But then again meh... Shana is just too damn cute

So I'll just try my best to enjoy S3 for what it is instead of prying at the inconsistencies and whatnot. Hopefully.

Well if you shut off your brain and enjoy the pretty lights it's still quite fun. Although as I stated, the phrase " Who dafqu are you?" comes up quite often and too many times.

Obviously, Louise has become the gentleman she always wanted to be. Now she can marry her true love (Siesta) and live happily ever after.

Kaichou Wa Maid-sama has turned into Kimi Ni Todoke. As in, the writer has no idea when to end it, so it keeps going on and on into oblivion. I'll see it through to the end, though!

 

I recently looked through the list of romance anime and manga... It's actually rather depressing how many pure romance selections I actually know and watch... Or rather, it's somewhat amazing how many I recognize easily once I see the name.

 

Something that caught my attention was a particular title named "Watashi Ni XXX Shinasai!"... Is this a coincidence? Has someone seen it before? What is it?

Honestly, for me, what slaughtered my entire enjoyment of the show was that they basically destroyed Yuuji's character by just giving him a random buff.  It felt like it destroyed all the effort he put in to training, and all of a sudden he is effectively god.  Like that made me go "Wait... Whaaaatt!?!?!?!?"

 

I also completely agree with that S2 ending statement, and it was the entire reason why I can claim to anybody to just not watch S3 as seen in my warning post

I'd just go with "Flame-Haired Red Eyed Hunter" or maybe "Crimson Eyed"

 

There is no real correct translation as all of them mean effectively the same thing in English, just pick the one you personally like best.  It would be like saying Cosmos, Universe, Everything and World are all potential translations for a concept and euphemism for "everything".  There isn't a correct one, its an idea that you just can't translate perfectly.

灼 = masu stem of 灼く which means to burn/to scorch

眼 = eye(s)

灼眼 = burning eyes(eyed)

討ち手 = Hand that shoots, it's a more uncommon way to say shooter (打ち手). 

It doesn't mean hunter but in English hunter is probably the most suited word. (Hunter in Japanese is 狩人 or 猟師) 

 

Most literal translation would thus be Flamed-Haired Burning-Eyed Hunter.

The difference in our viewpoints regarding Chuunibyou was that I went in expecting comedy while you went in expecting drama. That is the real reason why you were more satisfied than I at the ending.

Yeah, it's entirely possible that the expectation difference accounts for the different Chunibyo experience. WRT not watching Working!! season 2 yet:

- I'm not being a coward, just savoring the anticipation

- I'm also saving it for a time when I've just finished a bad show and need a reliable pick-me-up

- It wouldn't really be finishing it anyway, because Season 3 is coming starting in July!

I'm pretty sure the manga has the actual story and the anime's just a teaser. That was the case with Durarara's first season, where they had four manga and the anime only covered up until the third manga.

Oregairu Zoku has not been licensed by any streaming sites yet.

If it does get licensed the probability of it being available in any non English speaking country is almost non existent.

 

I watched episode 1 of it, was pretty good.

I like the new character design although Hiki's eyes feel a bit off.

Still doing the same monologues as usual.

Yui still best girl.

I don't like commie or their affiliated groups either. I won't go out of my way to avoid their subs, but it's kinda frustrating how condescending their staff can be (especially herkz), and their trolling can be pretty obnoxious too. I'll only watch their releases if they're the only group with acceptable quality.

Some groups come and go, but commie seems to hang in there longer than others. From what I'm seeing on nyaa right now, it doesn't look like there's any fewer fansubbers than there have been in the last few years.

There's always a lot of fansubbers, but a great percentage are also only doing a couple things once in a while or just have one big on-going project (eg: mezashite subs) they're not really the type to work consistently on subs for several different anime. A lot of them sub one anime and disappear too.

 

The only ones I know are rather big are FFF, UTW,  Doki Fansubs, Commie, Chihiro (not as big I guess but their subs are good) and Coalgirls.

Of course there's plenty more, but in terms of scale they're usually pretty small and only have one project once in every blue moon.

It's too bad Evetaku's not around anymore. They may have been declining in quality with their most recent releases, but they use to be really awesome. In addition to their quality subs, they had great aesthetics (typesetting, kara, encoding). I remember how enthusiastic they were when it came to AKB0048 too. Good times.

I managed to wait until it was over and resist the urge to watch it when everyone was hyping it.

 

Hopefully it'll be an enjoyable ride.

 

I haven't seen a good romance in quite some time so I'm staying positive.
