  1. Hi! Recently I have been creating a new world to set stories in. I am creating a series of shorter games and comics exploring this world. While I am not completely done, I feel as though your feedback would be very much welcome. I want to include you peeps in the development process. What is it? Rooted follows a town built on top of a giant creature wandering through the world. The town is mostly self sufficient - they grow crops and trees on the creature, harvest the giant fur to sew clothes and other materials, and mine the horns of the creature to create more sturdy things such as weapons and foundations. Every once in a while, the creature ceases its endless trot to slumber. For a short while, the giantfolk can visit the ground to trade and mingle before the creature wakes up. To the people living on the creature there are two worlds. The familiar and constant soft and furry world of the town set in the fur of the creature, and the ever changing, moving world of the ground. The world of the ground is always different , forever changing as the creature continues walking onwards. The creature folk are forever moving this way, but also forever rooted to the creature. Intent I want to explore how life on the creature is. To explore their world and use that in context of my own worldview to gain a better understanding of myself. Does the townfolk ever feel trapped? Do their youth run away to the unknown ground world? Does the town traditionally reproduce with people from the ground world to increase their gene pool? What does the ground world think of the creature? What if a city is trampled down, does people get angry and what do they do about it? What happens when they meet another creature with a townt? What if their giant is a predator, for example a spider? Those are some potential plotlines set in this world. For now I am still creating the world and establishing just how it works though! View from a small settlement on the edge of the giant. What do you want from me? I am involving you in the development of Rooted, if you would like to! Here is how it works; Every week or every other week, I will post a new update on the project. I will give you guys a script, a comic, a prototype or simply some artwork. In the same run, I will provide a feedback form, you will hopefully give feedback, and based on your feedback I will pivot accordingly!   2. Story Premise Become Aurelia, a rare winged Sylph of Avalon who makes her living as an information broker in the red light district of Yoru. Despite Aurelia’s job, she prefers to live life as peacefully as possible— unless there’s an adventure involved. How can mere mortals stop the power of Chaos? About the Project Mystic Destinies: Echoes is our second planned game, focusing on the antagonists of MDSOA and a new protagonist. This game is planned to be a dark epic that will explore mature themes.   4. ✧✧✧✧✧ In this barren world of endless deserts, almost all live their lives upon large fractions of land floating above the surface. Here there are two types of people: Normals and Abnormals. ✧✧✧✧✧ Buffalo Seer is an eccentric Abnormal who wants nothing more than to use the magic ability within them; future seeing. However, even within their society where everyone has a special power, future seeing is considered dangerous and advised against. Unable to be swayed, Seer finally gains permission to look into their own future, only to receive an unbelievable revelation. Not only have they left Abnormal society, they're married to someone they've never met before. With visions of happiness in their mind, Seer leaves everything behind and ventures to the part of the land fraction where those without magic live; Normal society. Seer is going to convince this stranger that they are meant to be together no matter what it takes, even if it means tagging along on an adventure. For most of their life their goal was to use their ability at least once. After that was achieved there was no plan, Seer simply expected to be satisfied with life. However, upon seeing what the future holds Seer immediately created a new goal, finding their future spouse. But then after finding them Seer decided they’d have to get married before they could be fully content. Once that inevitably occurs, who knows? Seer has an odd habit of phrasing things in unnecessarily suspicious ways, that coupled with the way they dress causes them to come across as creepy within Normal society. Seer doesn’t seem to mind. Kea is a police officer who recently transferred to the capital of Vespen in order to work undercover. The job requires an officer to infiltrate a street gang that mainly recruits young teens off the street, hence the outfit they’ve got on. Kea was requested specifically due to their youthful stature and fitting personality, since in informal situations Kea is chatty, fast-talking, and can easily come across as rude or uncultured. While on the job Kea speaks and behaves (somewhat) more seriously. Despite technically being in charge, they are the black sheep of the group. While everyone else is perfectly comfortable bending or even out right breaking the law Kea is, naturally, not so keen on that. But, no matter how often Kea intentionally or accidentally isolates themselves from the others and how much they cause disagreements, they don’t actually want it to be that way. They’d like to get along with the team and have a positive impact on situations, it just seems impossible because of their position. Mapmaker and item collector extraordinaire Piper wouldn’t normally have a reason to be in the capital, however this is an unusual time for her. She is currently on hiatus. She chose to take a break because constant work had worn her down. Before she felt duty call and joined the adventure she had been spending her days wearing nice clothing and drinking tea while discussing good books with pleasant ladies. However, Piper has no intention of wasting time sulking over the loss of the last part of her time off from ruin trekking. In fact, she doesn’t seem to ever spend time being in a poor mood. Piper treats others in a friendly and casual manner but is nothing near an open book. She’s deeply enigmatic. Her courteous nature stems entirely from social obligations rather than genuine interest and that fact becomes rather obvious if you try speaking with her for any extended period of time. January is a man of massive importance and wealth in the region of Vespen, though only due to inheriting it. He has been the Duke of a significant family ever since his mother passed away a few years prior. That title is no longer bestowed and every other house in Vespen that had the title at one point has had the lineage die out. With an heirless only child as a Duke, January’s family is currently one step away from joining those other houses in being stripped of their clout. The weight of being the last true noble in the region has not been lost on January. The entire point of the trip is escorting January to a safe house, so in that sense he is an important member of the team. But only in that sense. January isn’t allowed to do anything, much to his frustration. Because of his sheltered upbringing January has spent his entire life having people assume he’s useless or an easy target. It is unclear if the group thinks the same way or if they are simply overprotective. Upon first meeting January he comes across as rather skittish. After Seer shows him his future he resolves to change the way he lives his life. From then on he begins to act more indignant and reckless. He is going to be a contributing member of the team, whether the rest of the group wants him to or not. *Not Pursueable* Trinette is the leader of a bounty hunting gang. The group is famous for its efficiency and willingness to work outside what is legal. However, lawlessness is the last thing you’ll find within the group itself. It is highly organized and functions essentially the way a normal business does. Every employee has a set wage, time off, health coverage, etc. The reason this criminal gang functions this way is because Trinette’s background is mainly in finances. After working for many reputable companies she decided to start a company of her own. She chose a bounty hunting gang simply because it was a position that needed to be filled in the area. If you can look past all her wrongdoing and not take what she does in her job personally, Trinette is a rather amiable woman. Thanks for checking this thread out!   5. Summary: One day, the face of the Earth was changed permanently when it came into contact with a mysterious force known as the “Alpha Nebula”. With it, humans developed various unexplainable abilities, and divided themselves based on those traits. The main factions include: The Tonitrui, the Excedente, the Praecantator, the Permuto, and the Northmanni. All have their own set of unique abilities that came with infamous Alpha Nebula collision, with the exception of the Northmanni who remain largely unchanged. Among these races however, existed a special group of people who managed to retain all the other race’s abilities. They were a very powerful, but small isolated group of people, called “emulators”. Arin Arlento was one of these people, living in a remote village with his grandfather and other emulators. All was going peacefully, until it was attacked by the Northmanni empire, who slaughtered his entire race and kidnapped his childhood friend, Aria. Being the only other survivor, Arin escaped into the Northmanni empire, hiding and plotting his revenge. That is until finding out that Aria is still alive, and is being experimented on by the Northmanni. Resentful of the world that took everything away from him, Arin begins his quest to retrieve his friend, and exact retribution on those who destroyed all that he held dear. It’s one misguided man against the world. Genres:[action, adventure, superpower, psychological, romance, war.] The GUI, done by Trey Fletcher; Structure: the story would be mostly linear as the choices mostly appear during battle and have their instant bad ends attached to it. The common route before each branching point is not very long as it serves to introduce the heroine who you would be branching into. It has an enforced playing order of Alacria->Aniam. Once the reader branches into the four other heroines the main story ends there and it focuses on the specific problems of the heroine. Due to various issues, Episicava would be released in 3 separate volumes as opposed to one whole. Setting: one of the main features of this story is that it is adventure styled. The protagonist and his posse of troubled combat capable girls move about on the various continents to seek new shelter. Each continent represents an ethnicity or fault of human nature. Northmanni- Modern day society. Styled after Japan and America. Fulgur- represents humanity’s scientific progression and the harm it causes. Tribus- represents African tribalism and the cultural implications it puts on its people. Though, instead of claiming your ever so cliche human soul, the devil demands a huge sum of money for payment. You also learn of the dreadful fact that you will die again if the payment is not in time. Can you make enough money in time to save your life? Despite the premise sounding as dark as it is, most of the game will actually be light-hearted slice of life events.   7. Summary: Taking place in ancient Japan, Kitsune Magic Shop is the whimsical tale of Niyama Kitsune and her sister Nizume as they open the first ever Magic Shop. The first 3D Interactive Visual Novel introduces gameplay elements such as inventory puzzles, exploration, and mini-games to the classic Visual Novel approach. I wanted to get your opinions on the current gameplay. About 1 month ago we were greenlit on steam. We're currently in the process of creating a demo to support a kickstarter effort. To remedy the situation he decides to issue a true test of demonic will power. The Chaos Championship An all out competition between the three highest ranking demons in Hell to see who can destroy and spread what Satan will deem as true Chaos. The victor is offered their very own circle of Hell to rule over. An entire domain personalized to their tastes, no request too large! Faced with this irresistible offer, Jaya, Meridia and Kijo agree to undertake the challenge in order to prove which one of them is the greatest demon in all of Hell. The Demons Meridia Resident bookworm and owner of the nicest hair in all of Hell. A stern believer in rules and an aspiring writer. (Rumor has it her books aren't very good) Her ghostly companion follows her wherever she goes and tries to keep her safe. (Emphasis on tries.) She decides that using demons is the best way to win the Chaos Championship. What better way to raise Hell than using Hell itself? Sprite Jaya - (PROMO ART COMING SOON) Brash and difficult to handle, Jaya acts before she thinks and has a huge appetite. Physically the strongest of all demons and she is usually seen bragging about it. She decides to invade Heaven in an attempt to win the Chaos Championship. Sprite Kijo The demon with the split personality. Incredibly lazy and always wanting to sleep. Everything is too much of a hassle and she has a difficult time controlling her sudden personality flips. Ends up drawing the short straw and has to go to Earth in order to attempt to win the Chaos Championship. Sprite Other Characters Coming Soon! Gauzra In charge of all the writing/music and actual programming of the game. Fortunately I've got a bit of experience with audio and music and have worked in IT, giving me a somewhat rounded skill set. Zombzilla The in house artist. Been drawing since she was about 12 or 13 years old. Huge work load on her for all art assets but we are progressing at a rapid pace. Additionally responsible for ghost writing and catching any mistakes I make. (There are a lot of them.)   9. Hey, all! The Anomaly is a commercial English Visual Novel project that my colleagues and I at Annexe Interactive have been developing for a while now. The game centers around a high school student and his friends after a mysterious anomalous phenomenon occurs suddenly in the sky above Colorado Springs. It will contain minigame and player-choice elements and will include elements of mystery, conspiracy, and various historical and scientific concepts including American Government and Quantum Theory. The game is estimated to be released sometime in late 2016. We recently launched a kickstarter campaign that we hope will provide us with the funds necessary to complete the game. Tucker is a hacker, and along with his friends Ross and Valerie, he finds every opportunity he can to leave the doldrums of the real world behind and lose himself in cyberspace. Whether it’s something as silly as vandalizing the Cheyenne Mountain High School website, or as serious as tapping into secret government archives, no task is too great or small for Tucker his merry little band of tech-savvy misfits. When Tucker meets a new girl at school named Kiera, things quickly become more complicated, and he and his friends’ carefree lives soon take an even more dramatic turn when the mysterious local phenomenon of “The Hum” begins to cause strange and confusing effects to the people of Colorado Springs. Taking it upon themselves to get to the bottom of things, the group soon find themselves knee deep in a complex and treacherous world of secrets, conspiracy, and very real danger. He earns money being a hired killer. He has only one “god’s eye “ that he hides under a blindfold. However, one fact changes everything… Early concept: Dora Dora is a victim of the Order’s unsuccessful experiments in an attempt of creating« the seers » artificially. She managed to escape from the Order’s facility when she was ten and she first met Luca in the slums. Dora has a sweet temper but a strong will. From child hood she decided to fight for the Alliance where she found a shelter and a refuge. Early concept: Cloyd Cloyd is a former military man whose sister was a seer. He has been hiding her from the Order for fifteen years but in the end he couldn’t save her. Cloyd has a harsh temper, his own codes of honor, and he won’t stop until he achieves the intended goal. Early concept: White Lady The White Lady is the first leader of the Order. Cruel and mysterious woman, she thinks that she controls the balance of powers in the country. She got her nickname for her color preference in clothing. Early concept: Garey Garey is the leader of the Alliance. He is physically undeveloped but very smart. In the past Garey was a professor of a University, and in his spare time he created his own drug dealing net. Even though he hides himself behind words of virtue, he only cares of himself. Early concept: Spider Spider is the deputy of the White Lady, the second leader of the Order. He is smart, charming, able to find an approach to people. At the same time he is diagnosed with alexithymia (he can’t understand and almost doesn’t feel any emotions). If he had an idol – that would be Hannibal Lector. He is acquainted with Luca. Before joining the Order he had worked with Luca for two years. Early concept: Leland Leland is the third leader of the Order. He loves ballet and makes considerable donations for the needs of art, he also supplies arms. He was married five times but none of his wives could outlive the first year of marriage. Leland is sure that his ancestors were aristocrats. He collects porcelain dolls, five of them have faces of his deceased wives. Early concept: Astra Astra is the fourth leader of the Order. She dreams about taking the place of the White Lady. She has three children ( all girls, she adopted each of them). She favors the illegal organ trade. She was the one who caught Cloyd’s sister. Astra suffers from fits of melancholy. She doesn’t see the sense neither in her and nor in others’ lives. Only the fight for power helps her to distract herself from painful thoughts. Early concept: Abby Abby is Luca’s friend, who he has been raising since she was ten. She is a cheerful girl. She dreams of a new life for her and for Luca. She saves money for moving to a different country. Early concept: Nancy Nancy is a popular seamstress in the slums. It was precisely her who found Luca and raised him like her own son. Nancy is a rather rude and simple woman, she values her relatives more than anything.   13. PLOT Once upon a time, in a fairytale land, a beautiful ethereal being watched over the living beings that inhabited this realm. Some referred to her as a goddess, others as mother nature. One thing was certain about this being; she cared for and nurtured this world. The creatures that had the most potential for greatness were the elves. They were elegant, tall, blonde, magical, and intelligent. She saw these beings that lived docile lives of blandness. It hurt her to see such wonderful creature neglecting their full potential. She wanted to add some diversity to help them. She borrowed the essence of six other species and spread them through the elves to create the six elemental races of elves. Simply put, light, dark, earth, air, water, and fire. It worked for a short time until disagreement turned into argument, and argument turned into fighting. Prejudice spread and the ethereal being cried for her children. To rectify her mistake, she split her soul, she took a piece of it and created an infant with the essence of light and dark. And then she split her heart to create a charm to watch over the child and sent the beacon of hope down to her people. The stress of this act of love put her into a deep slumber. The elves rejoiced at the blessing and welcomed each other’s differences until a prophecy spoke of salvation or destruction, caused by this mixed child. CHARACTERS MAIN CHARACTER Syphethia She is the main character and is a light elf. She is very kind and caring but can be misunderstood and when angered, she can be quite explosive. She is quite quirky as well and tends to be very different from other light elves. She is rambunctious, rebellious, free spirited, and very curious. Not exactly what you would expect from a perfect princess BACHELORS Kita He is a light elf and the princess's fiance. He is very strange and is always disappearing after receiving a mysterious call. He doesn't seem very nice and is incredible smug. He seems to have some sort of disdain for the princess but always tries to hide it behind a fake smile. He smiles often but it never seems to be authentic. He is shrouded in mystery. Korra He is a waiter at one of the light elf restaurants. He is very kind and social and seems to always be there when this princess is in a bind. His signature facial expression is his big cheesy smile. He has a big secret though. Which would explain his unusual appearance. He also seems to genuinely care for the princess and loves her quirks. He loves having fun and can sometimes be a bit if a flirt. Darc He is a dark elf who is fierce and strong. He may sound rude through his voice and actions but he really is a caring person deep down. Not that he'll ever admit to it. He is a bi r of a tsundere lol. His tongue is sharp but his touch is always gentle. There seems to be a strange connection between him and the princess. He also can not leave someone in trouble. He will complain about it but can't stop himself from helping. Fira He is a hot headed fire elf. He is always full of energy and any little comment could set him off but he would never leave a friend behind or let them get hurt. His emotions are very big in every direction. He feels things a lot more than others. Sadness, anger, joy. All of them go to the extreme. But so does his passion for the people he cares about. Loud and wild, he can be quite a handful. Tessa He is a calm and calculating water elf. He is mature and tends to correct people which makes him seem smug and arrogant which was never his real intention. In actuality he is very caring, just misunderstood for the way he shows it. He has a hard time expressing his feelings or anything else that doesn't involve logic. He tends to say the wrong things often and it comes off in a way he didn't intend it to. He is very good at hiding his emotions as well. Nova He is a free spirited air elf. He is quite eccentric and a bit air headed. Its always hard to understand what he's thinking. He is also extremely shy and easily embarrassed. He is very quite but seems to have a very active mind. Always lost in thought. Though seemingly shy and docile, he is very dependable when it comes down to the important issues. He may prefer peace but will protect those he cares for with his life. EXTRAS Queen Alura She is Syphethia's mother, The queen. She is a quiet and submissive woman. She seems to always be worried about something but will not express her worries. She is always kind and gentle to Syphethia though. King Varin He is Syphethia's Father, the king. He is a dominant, commanding man. He is very controlling and aggressive. He is very secretive and doesn't stand for being disobeyed. Hardly seems to genuinely care for the princess. Dina She is the sister of Darc who is even more violent than her brother. She is flirtatious and has a fiery attitude but still love her brother dearly whether she shows it or not. Though she is violent, she doesn't get angry often. Her violence is how she has fun. She jokes around a lot and can be very sexual at times. Her favorite pass time is teasing her brother. Tierra She is a cute and adorable young girl. She is a half breed mixed with a air elf and a water elf. she is a little ball of energy and loves to have fun. She also cares very deeply about the people she comes to trust.   16. Hello all! I am currently in the process of making my first visual novel! Introduction "You and six teenagers are involved in horrible accidents. You are found unconscious, but you seem to wake up in a new realm. The ones there call it the Drift. From there, you have to find a way to escape the Drift alive. There are creatures that dwell there called phantoms. With each person having a "talent," this shouldn't be too hard of a task, right? Wrong. The Drift is a dangerous realm with illusions to trick the mind. With danger lurking in every shadow, who can you trust? Are they your friends or foes?" The main character is unisex, so either gender can play and choose their own route, love choice, and more! Characters Liam Valter: Liam is known as, "The scrawn." He is easily defined by his skittish and fearful personality. Liam usually keeps to himself, making him very observant. He is also the strategist, the brains, and the planner in the group. His talent of timed invisibility helps him observe and plan even better. At the age of 17, one would think that he would be a little more.. well-put-together in his scared side. However, Liam's fearful personality has helped the group make hard decisions during fights, incidents, and events in the drift. He is usually seen wearing a white v-neck shirt with blue jeans. He has a pair of glasses that always remains on his face, as he is rendered useless without them. Josh Farrier: Josh is the leader of the group. He had been in the Drift for the longest time of the seven teenagers. His given talent upon arrival was foresight and mind-reading which can prove useful in most situations. His personality is definitely a more rough-sided person. He often compares himself to a wolf - he protects his pack, fights those who dare to stand up to him, and fights when needed. An opposite of Liam hints that the two don't necessarily get along. Liam uses his head to figure out situations, while Josh uses his fists. Josh is known for his black shirt marked with a silver omega symbol. Katlyn Stone: Katlyn is seen around Josh. She was taken under his wing when she arrived in the Drift. He had saved her from a pack of "phantoms," the beasts that lurk in the Drift's plains. Katlyn now owes him her life, so she sticks by him in thick and thin to ensure that she is available for service when needed. She usually calms Josh down and persuades him to listen to the other people in the group. Often, the other group members question if the two are an item, but every time they deny. Daniel Bosner: Daniel is the flirt of the group. He decides to flirt with anyone and anything that is a female. This leads to him being overly confident in the sense that he finds himself, "able to get any girl." Despite this personality, he is one of the best members. His "given talent" is to see into the darkness, and use the shadows. He can sneak through the plains like a spy and guard the group's den. The shadows alert him of an enemy or threat, so his senses are extremely useful. Jarid Ryder: Jarid, or also known as "J," works with Liam as the strategist. In a close tie to Liam, he is known as the second-brain. Whenever Liam is on a supply run, Jarid is in charge of planning escape routes if a phantom rampages through the den. If one does reveal itself, he is able to use his talent to become one of them - he's a shapeshifter. As long as he's seen the creature, he is able to become one. This is extremely handy in battle situations as he can ward off predators by shifting into a creature of immense size and power. Marie Santar: Marie has a special feature about her. She has multiple-personality disorder - she has two different sides. One of which is a calm, loving girl.. While the other, is much less than that. Her "demonic" side is much more violent. She usually goes into a rampage. Her left eye turns red when this activates. This is a positive and a negative - in battle it works well. In other times, it can cause pain and tension in the den.   17. My team, Alienworks, is going to be releasing a short yuri VN in a couple months. I'm a little bit late on the whole thread creation thing, since we announced the project back in September, but what can ya do? So first off about us, then I'll get to the good parts. As you might know, Alienworks has another project going on, The Human Reignition Project, which you can see in my signature. That's our main game. HB was a side project started by myself and one of the other writers, and is way smaller in scope. That other writer is Syon, Setsuna's writer for HRP. Then we have Jake Abernathie and Anna Logue composing the soundtrack, with our programmer Kevin Turner putting everything together. Art is handled by Rosuuri, Shiyun and Myuto, who also work on HRP. Badriel is doing the backgrounds, and we also have a number of CG's being completed by Weee/Raemz, best known for her work on Katawa Shoujo. While they're both a little bit lacking, we have a VNDB entry as well as our own website. Developed by Alienworks, Highway Blossoms is a short lesbian (or "yuri") story set in the American Southwest. After an old gold rush miner's journal is discovered, supposedly detailing where he hid parts of his stash, a nationwide craze begins as would-be prospectors try to solve its clues and strike it rich. Amber couldn't care less. Wandering the desert in a recently-inherited motorhome, she mourns the loss of her grandfather - indifferent and unaware to the hunt happening around her. It's not until she meets Marina, a young hitchhiker lost in New Mexico that the girls get swept up in the rush. A tribute to music and Americana, Highway Blossoms is a linear visual novel experience. With an emphasis on romance and adventure, the game is sometimes somber and sometimes silly. We hope to write a game that both long-time VN fans and newcomers to the medium can enjoy, as well as a fun contribution to the yuri genre. Right now, we're hoping to have the game out in mid-April, though it's still a bit too early to announce a definite release date. We've got a first draft of the script done, as well as all the backgrounds, half the soundtrack, half the CG's and a few of the sprites. All the other things are moving along pretty quickly though. When it's done, it'll be on Steam with a free uncensor patch available, or alternatively you can get the DRM-free adult version on Denpasoft. It's not an eroge or anything like that, but there are a couple sex scenes. The emphasis is on romance and adventure though. Similar to what we did for the HRP demo, we're going to be putting together a guest art gallery for anyone who might want to participate. The story follows a small group of heroes in a world ravished by the wars of its past. Runestones possessing magical qualities are what fuel the industry, their secrets long ago lost. Humans research them to unlock their hidden potential. Overpopulation in cities built for far fewer inhabitants. Homes built atop homes with giant walkways connecting the various levels together. While there is a whole ton of lore that's been written up for the world, we're waiting until the Demo before releasing it as we wish to make it as presentable as possible for you! (I may be willing to give a sneak peek to individuals who can offer genuine feedback and suggestions) What do we have thus far? Well, we're almost done with the demo! There are just a few elements left to add. - In the interests of transparency, we have had a lot of trouble with music. Welcome to the Rift, a dimensional tear located in Canaan where the ancient gods were created and where you must prove your worthiness to lead the world of men. You have allies and the training needed to fight, but nothing will prepare you for the wonders and horrors of the unstable plains in the Rift. Manage Respect, Relationships, and Mental will when making decisions. Assigning team members to missions best suited for them. Discovering weaknesses to epic enemies through investigations. Collecting real world lore and in game lore by discovering hidden items. Unlocking secrets of the past by collecting memory gems. Making timed decisions and avoiding damage in high intensity situations. Leveling up your characters to specialize in unique skills. Time In the game, everything will cost time to complete and characters may be away, unable to do a task available. Time is managed by the player and he has 6 months to prepare to face Nun. Special events will happen at certain times such as full moon cycles, changing of season, etc. This will give the player a level of management that makes them feel immersed. Leveling Each character has core stats which helps them succeed in feats. Completing certain missions and training will gain you very limited talent points to specialize your character in lore friendly ways. Respect You are a leader. You must earn the respect of your soldiers! Decisions you make and the success of those decisions will affect the confidence your allies have in you. If you fail a lot, they will lose confidence and go rogue during critical decisions. You may even lose command. A true Pharaoh never loses command… Kinship While how successful you are in decision making and your sense in the field affects the way they see you, it does not help one bit on how they think of you as a person. In order to get on their good side, you must appeal to their innate personalities. One cannot please everyone so make your choices wisely. It is worth noting that Kinship affects how allies act when not around you or when not commanded. Stability You are the strongest. Unfortunately, you are also the most flawed… You have an issue with Dementia and you must suppress these voices throughout your time in the Rift. The tradeoff is considerable though because when you were young, and you let the voices run wild, you could do things others could only dream of. In these dark days, will you allow your mind to slip in order to wield more power or will you avoid such pleasures and rely on knowledge of self? The rift has stood for thousands of years, since the day Nun arrived from the planet Nibiru. Located in the barren lands of Canaan, this void was created to keep the outside world uncontaminated while Nun worked on his creations. He spent centuries studying the humans and when he figured out this world, he created ancients similar to the life found on his home planet. They warred with each other inside the Rift until only 3 families remained. When they left the Rift, Nun used a stability gem to alter reality and hide the incomprehensible damage done. But now, thousands of years since the great sundering, Nun has created another race of beings to combat his creations from ions past. In order for them to prove themselves, they must survive the Rift, as it were during the time of the ancients. Stability is no more! Can the mortals survive the Trials of the Rift? There are many different types of quests in Black Sands. We will briefly go through some of them to better understand the gameplay mechanics involved in each. In Black Sands, time, health, and deployment all work against you as you stride to prepare yourself for the final battle with Nun. Scouting - designed to seek new quests exclusively. Minimal danger Investigation - A quest that requires discipline and perception. Player must decipher material and decide what is important and not. Proper investigation rewards secrets. Tracking - This is an extremely heavy skill check category that requires quick decision making and a little luck. These missions are available only once before they go back into the quest pool. Social - This is a quest where you develop relationships with the other characters and learn more about them. Instant Events - Automatically happen when certain criteria are met. May have nothing to do with prior tasks. Group Events - The entire group must participate. Nun will go over your notes and inspect your facility whenever this happens. Epic Events - Storyline Events that are either triggered by actions or chose by the player. These tend to have more decision making then other events. Exploration - A quest designed to explore unknown locations. These quests have no prior knowledge so player must use their wits to move forward. The farther you get, the better the rewards. These missions can be ended at any time but there is no guarantee you can return. This game is directly inspired by Dragon Age and Telltale. Their strong narratives and crucial game changing decisions inspired me to design a visual novel unlike any before it. Additional motivation was found in the way Hollywood depicts middle eastern and Saharan people. We do a lot of research and use annotations in game to teach the actual history behind the fantasy of our world. Future We will be converting all sprites to Live2d and making them look a bit more realistic and 20x more brutal. The goal is to make this like Conan while having the art leveling of pixar, dreamworks. How can I help? Our first game is a Visual Novel by the name Wingdaria Destiny. We have a brand new demo right here! It's about 30 min long and gives a good feel for the game. Our Visual Novel is currently running on Kickstarter - The Kingdom of Wingdaria - In a medieval world where technology has only just recently seen the light of day and where no miracles can be created from hands; each and every person has to work hard for their daily bread. Sadly, the kingdom is moving into an economic crisis and the people of Wingdaria fear the worst is still to come. However, rumors say that if the princess of Wingdaria marries the prince of Rosenheim, the nation will prosper once again. Hope still remains, for the kingdom and its people, but will their wish come true? - Plot - Evan, the protagonist of our story, is a young man, who felt little purpose in life, as he lost his sight due to a terrible fate. Although recently, he has found hope again, as he has developed feelings for the lovely Princess Aria, who was kindhearted enough to save him from the streets of Arkenwall. Undoubtedly, they have become quite close, but an arranged marriage between Princess Aria and the Prince of Rosenheim will tear the couple apart. Can they escape their fate and reach the freedom they so wish for?
