Kosakyun reacted to Eclipsed in Number Two
Once upon a time, there was a KosakiFag
He was a great Kosaki, and a great Fag
He was the number two spammer
But would easily avoid the ban hammer
He was. He was. HE WAS
Then he took an arrow to knee
He became busy, and abandoned me
Though he would visit occasionally
To expect any more would be silly
He is gone, so I have to move on
I reach for the sky
As my post count grows high
A year and a half pass by
As I finally surpass my senpai
As I finally became... the Number Two Spammer. Hi Hi
~~
In Memory of @KosakiFag, the greatest spammer of us all.
P.S. Come back and kick my ass soon plx

Kosakyun reacted to Fred the Barber in A Tribute to arunaru - Beat Blade Haruka Discussion
I picked this up mostly because @KosakiFag is such a big Alicesoft fan that I wanted to see what all the hoopla was about. One thing that tipped me over the edge for this release was the ability to skip all the rape scenes - which probably sounds like anathema to most of the people in this thread, but deal with it; I'm a wimp that way.
Anyway, about the game. H-scenes are fine and all, but I'd probably pick up a more straightforward nukige if that's all I was looking for. Nonetheless, I find myself playing the game for pretty long stretches (actually longer than I would a more typical VN), and the reason is of course the gameplay elements. I find I really enjoy these simple optimization problems, and I especially appreciate that the dice are fixed. I have no desire to reload over and over again to get a better dice roll, but I will happily reload once to make a better decision on what to do with the dice/points/etc. I have.
The mechanics are a little under-explained, but the only ones I didn't get yet were Libido and Brutality. Re-reading arunaru's post on the MG staff blog explained Libido quite clearly, so now I regret not pursuing raising that up higher, sooner . And I'm planning to leave Brutality at 0, so that's fine too.
I'm only on day 10 or so at this point, but it's quite a lot of fun. I'm about to attempt the first castle raid and am curious to see what that's like.

Good job on the background. I'm excited about how these things will all intertwine in your game.
Keep at it. <3

Coeus Corrupt (Ko-wus)
Pantheon: Greek
Age: 1482
Height: 14' or 19' standing
Fighting Style: Soul Leeching
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
FANTASY In the bowels of a long lost Anunnaki burial chamber roams the Titan Coeus. He once was the most intelligent Titan to ever exist and was the most likely to succeed at developing humanity in the outside world. Fate was cruel to him though as his curiosity got the best of him. Nun warned all the ancient bloodlines of the three dominant spirits that were sent to Earth with him. Nun possessed one but the other two were lost in the crash landing of his ship. Coeus searched for years for relics of the long lost Sirius ship and did not heed the warning of Nun to notify him immediately if they ever were to be discovered. When he touched the relic, the spirit within it infused with his core, causing him to fall into madness. He tried to fight the urge for a time but eventually it took over and he killed an Anunnaki by draining it of its soul. Uranus, his father, intervened on his behalf when Marduk seeked vengeance. Marduk did not trust Uranus to honor his word though and negotiated the terms of his punishment. The Annunaki would build a cursed facility under the ground which would keep him imprisoned for eternity with special sigils that drained his power. He is forever roaming these halls waiting for the day he can be free to feed again.
HISTORY Coeus is of the Greek pantheon, known as the Titan of rational intelligence. He fathered many children and was considered a positive Titan. In the Titanomachy (The war between Titans and Olympians,) he was overthrown and imprisoned for an eternity in Tartarus (Hell.) unlike the other Titans, he went mad in his imprisonment and broke free of his chains in an attempt to escape but failed in his attempt.
THEORY We decided to change the timeline a bit and tie his historical madness into his inquisitive nature. We liked the tragedy of an intelligent and benevolent Titan falling from grace due to his lack of wisdom. By showing his fall, we make him more relatable and also incorporate cross pantheon relationships between the Anunnaki and the Titans. This allows us to create vivid lore that mixes the two worlds and enriches the story of a mad god who was once a benevolent saint.
Full blown critiques plz. This is a rough of the Coeus concept which will be properly rendered at a later date. The image is the scale.

Yeah, let's not make that talk about learning Japanese get out of hand. Whatever we say, it's not like a person will learn Japanese shortly after he tries to. We all have different sets of values and priorities. If you prioritize learning a language over other stuff, good for you. You'll learn Japanese fast since you're actually dedicating your time to it. If you prioritize playing games or living your life in some other way, then good for you too. You're using up your time for something you really like, or something really important. Or maybe we're just wasting it. If we don't learn Japanese because we can't seem to set aside time to learn it for ourselves, then that's our problem. You can just laugh at us as we squirm like the plebs we are, waiting for the translation gods to let us partake in the blessing of translated visual novels. It just means that we have other stuff that we can do besides read visual novels. It's just a hobby, after all. In the end, it'll be our decision if we want to take that hobby to the next level or do something else with our lives.
Getting back to the main topic, congratulations to Alicesoft for getting Evenicle and Rance 03 in there. <3
Also, good for Sakura no Uta. It was able to live to the hype, apparently.

I put
1. Rance VI
2. Rance Quest
3. Sona-nyl
It would be a shame if the translation of the first two was never released.
Also because Rance.

I just as well post this here, I got about 2-ish % from the script one in about 4-5 hours of frivolous translating on the first day. i think it is possible to this to be done in the half-way mark of the year.

Translation: 12032/32977
A bit of a small update. Things got busy and I've been lazy . Nevertheless, it's still moving as slowly as it gets. As of the moment, there's still no chance for a partial patch cause of the hacking and editing part.
Anyways ciao~ see you on the next update

Kosakyun reacted to Arcadeotic in Bishoujo Mangekyou English TL begins
Wow,
Just wow...
I never honestly would've thought, that this project of mine would have gotten such a positive reception. Now I feel really pumped about this.
And thus, I officially announce the Bishoujo Mangekyou -Norawareshi Densetsu no Shoujo- English translation project started!
In the beginning, I only thought about translating it without the Japanese script, as this was basically a passion-project to further develop my English skills, but now that I have seen the magnitude of positive responses and the number of people who actually want to read this title, I have decided to do things a little differently. As you know, normally in a VN TL project, first comes translation, then editing and the quality checking. I decided to add something else to this process:
1. Translation: I basically translate the title to English from Finnish
2. The Clean-Up: I go through the translated script with the Japanese script, and correct as many mistakes as I possibly can
3. The editing and QC
This way I can make the final project with more quality and hopefully not as many grammatical errors. This is the shortened version of how the TL:ing will go down, I hope you'll look forward to it. i'll try to get the translation to an adequate state in an month or two, but you never do know about these things. Hope to see you soon, and hope you look forward to it.

Kosakyun reacted to Arcadeotic in I thought it would be good to introduce myself as of now
So,
As I have been delving more and more into this community, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce me, before I delve too far.
So, I'm Arcadeotic or just Arc, a VN-fanatic from the north. I have been lurking in this community for about a year, a little more than how much I have been playing VNs. But as I haven't really posted anything, that is kinda irrelevant. Anyhoo, how I started at this medium was watching Sakurasou Pet no Kanojo maybe, 1,5 years ago. Then i got into little more anime, then into manga, and then into Light Novels. I truly got into this community 11-ish months ago in the start of February, 2015. I know how many people start with easy, short Visual Novels and KS, but I started with, funnily enough, Princess Evangile. I was browsing Youtube, and I saw how some channel was playing PE. I watched an hour or two, and then right after bought it. Then I basically was locked in my room for 5-6 days. That's basically my origin.
Now it has been almost a year. And I have collected about 70 VNs, beaten over 45, learned Japanese decently enough and made myself a part of several communities.
I must say I'm happy for what I've gotten in under a year. And now I may try to grasp something even greater. Now that introductions are over, I can say, Thank you and I'm looking forward to our future patronage and collaboration. See you again very soon.
