I haven't played them myself but a lot of Black Cyc games. You need some real clairvoyance powers to know what you're doing.
 

Just skip both, I would say, hoshizora has not the best TL and is getting re-translated at the moment.. so why not wait for that and DC is just.. yeah what is it... a moege..

That's my favorite part of the story and I'm glad they decided to incorporate it with the main game, like the japaneses did with the 360 port. The ending is magnificent

Yeah there's definitely an immediate feel of downgrade when you go from the PSP version to the PC one. It's a shame that they couldn't port the PSP assets over and make a completely new PC version using them. 

not entirely true, yeah the FD routes FOR THE GIRLS are pretty meh, but the Houzuki backstory is really good and clears a lot of stuff up tbh.

Is the VN you speak of being translated by Moenovel? If so, you may want to reconsider buying it because I've read up on some infamous censorship practices done by them on If My Heart Had Wings. As @Kawasumi already said, you're better off learning Japanese.
