"If it ain't broke, don't fix it," eternally wise words that apply to all life scenarios. The problem is that you think Fuwanovel is critically damaged and in need of repairs. The truth is that it's actually kinda fine! If you attempt to fix something that isn't broken, you're bound to fail and end up worse off than you were before. Fuwanovel is at worse a bit slower than it used to be, and in reality is simply different from what you were used to in early 2014. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. You seem to find it really hard adapting to the current Fuwanovel, and because of this, you have deemed the site necessary to be "saved." Furthermore, you seem to have deemed yourself the only person worthy of this task, rarely ever working with anyone else to accomplish your goals. There's a whole community of members here who would love for fuwanovel to become a better place and are willing to put in the effort to try and make it happen. Some of us are already doing it. I'm doing it in the only way I know how, basically with my writing. So if I was to give some reason for why things turned out this way for you, they're 1) an overestimation of the severity of Fuwanovel's peril combined with a selfish viewpoint where it must be you who is the savior, instead of a mere cog in the machine helping things along, and 2) an unwillingness to work with everyone else who wants to make Fuwanovel a better place.
I still don't know what your vision of Fuwanovel is, after all this time. I really can't tell what goals you were working towards. And that's a problem, when you're trying to be an almighty savior. If it's "a bustling community where OriginalRen is at the center, beloved by all," that's not a cause we need a savior for, frankly. And if that wasn't your goal, then I'm not entirely sure what your actions were meant to accomplish. Maybe you don't even realize it yourself, but that's the only future your actions were working towards. It didn't pan out because it's this forum does not seem interested in idolizing any single member. Sometimes communities evolve in ways you don't agree with. It's not always a bad thing, and usually it's best to just move on when that happens. It doesn't mean the forum needs to be "saved," it just means it's a different place now. That's okay.
I hope things work out for you. Take it easy, buddy.

I use to think the way you do, but it makes zero sense from a business prospective. The only vns that are guaranteed to have a following in the west are obviously the ones that are already translated. Do you honestly think that a relatively unknown vn would make the same money as MuvLuv or Grisaia on kickstarter? Granted many would probably succeed, but why take that risk when you have a guaranteed payday with a larger title.
There are obviously some other factors that you should consider the successes of these kickstarters can influence what future projects are localized. VN companies may use them to gauge the level of interest the west has for visual novels in general. For example, due to the massive success of the MuvLuv kickstarter it has been strongly hinted that other titles such as Schwarzesmarken will be localized in the future.

The visual novel community is incredibly diverse and spread out across multiple locations, so much so that it sometimes becomes hard to know what kind of people we're dealing with.
Well no worries, because me and a team of highly trained professionals have spent 32 years studying this community and have cataloged all of our findings in order to give people the ability to always know the type of player they are dealing with.
Each category is followed by what we believe to be their typical call* when roaming through the inter web, so if you hear any of these, you know what you're facing ahead.

Which is also a part of my 2D girls>3D girls opinion as 3D romance relationship is all about sex not about real love which as I believe doesn't even exist in a 3D world and couldn't exist."
    10 - The Undefined
"Everything you said is completely and utterly wrong. This is also a part when I said to Ren about being so blinded by 3D world that he is not capable to really see Anime World. 3D world is the one that is shaped by the 2D world and not the other way around, it has always been so. For as long as there was this 3D world and we humans have started our evolution with technology there have been a stories and those stories ware as important part of evolution as is technology,
if technology gives us possibilities stories give us ideas of how to use those possibilities. It's stories and legend that had put rules into an empty world and with it created society and morals at first but later everything else as well including emotions too.Everything that we have in this 3D world started from an idea from a story, it was what one at a time might consider a fictional story but due people being fascinated by that story they try to realize it and by realizing they create something new in this empty world. Some examples of this would be aristocracy, it was at first only a story or an idea of out there being superior people who should led and rest who should fallow but by repeating that story, by out there being people who ware fascinated by those stories, those who tried to realize it and those who started to believe in it eventually aristocracy was born as one of first orders in a wild empty world in other words it was born as one of first socaityes. Latter diplomacy was no different. Another example closer to our time  would be emotions, to summarize it down let's choose only love as an example.
There have been stories about love far into the past but only did in last 50-100 yeasr had it started to become realized. Nowadays talks about love and romance as something that exist in this world is normal, but that wasn't so just in a recent past. as for how recent past that could wary from 50 to 100 years as not all countries and regions had been evolving at a same time and even now we have more and less advanced countries. But regardless of that if you look into the past
there was little to no mention of love as something that has been taking seriously. People ware mostly just getting married based on their statuses, in low and middle class of people women would look for someone who has a steady job and is capable of looking after a family man would look foor woman capable of doing chores around the house and looks might pay some role as well but personalities very little and love would hardly even be mentioned.
In fact in a lot of socaities it would also be common thing for parents to just decide who will their children get married to. In higher class of people wouldn't be much different, people would be getting meried for bisnis purposes. The most of love that would be even mentioned would have been some small romantic act such as maybe giving a flowers or something, and people would have considered just taking a liking to someone apprentice to be falling in love.
This has only changed in last 50 or so years only because people have optioned far more freedom, secure lifes and offcourse because love stories
have become much more common and where broth to next level and people started to believe in those stories until it become a norm. But as everything else in this world love too it is still far from real and noting more then fake and delusion, that is why always when one story gets realized it only opens a path for a new version of that story more complex, expanded and more real to come into view and to try to get realized. And now for the first time in history we have Anime.
But as it's technology that gives as possibilities we can't advance furder then technology allows as, and as technology has but barely started it is still not at a level to gives as a possibility to create something real like in Anime worlds therefore we can only advance stories to get closest to real thing as possible little by little and by realizing those stories to get our world closer to having something real in it. Technology will eventually gives a possibilities to create a real worlds once when we get to the point where everything in this one 3D world is under our control witch is the purpose of existence of this world, to become a seed from with a new worlds are born. Anime are most advanced stories that we have ever had in this world, they are for the very first times the stories of something real, of real worlds with real emotions. I think it is so ironic to call this world we live in a real world when everything in it is fake and it is anime world that has real things in it. And offcourse anime it self is constantly advancing to new highs. So now all we need is technology to create those anime worlds, now it comes a time for us to evolve into gods. This Shitty 3D world only exist for the sake of Anime worlds and chosen few geniuses who will evolve into gods and create new worlds in an image of perfection in an image of anime. Offcourse there is far more to it but I think I had blessed you with my presence enough for today.
Also perverts are just animals who fallow their instincts and failures in evolution therefore no different from worms."
    Or, alternatively, when provoked:
"You people are joke who think that just being from japan and being an otaku makes you a true otaku. Being true otaku means understanding anime culture and it's worlds and dedicating your life to otakuism. Anime characters are pure and would never do anything primitive like sex. Anime characters are far superior to real life humans far deeper and more complicated and something to be worshiped not used as fap material. You don't even understand that yet you call yourself an otaku."

SilverLi reacted to littleshogun in So, Seinarukana was just released, extra fully. (Steam version now available)
Anyone else get Seinarukan here other than me? If yes, I think we could started the discussion here, and I'll try to write my first impression here later.
For sure this game had very long history in translation, but I'll try to make it brief here. According to VNTL, the translation was began back at 2010 when it was handled by Dakkodango, also the team who translated the prequel Eien no Aselia. And after a year or so, at 2011 the translation was picked up by JAST and around that time until February 2013, the progress not updated much, until the last percentage seen was at 44% ie 2 years it was quite slowly working. At February 2013, they got Aroduc to translate Seinarukana, and he decided to retranslated it from very beginning. After that, well not much update except like 'mostly translated' or something like that. Oh, by the way before Aroduc took over the project, if we follow VNTL between August 2012 and February 2013 there's many months and look like the former translators decided to disappear around that time (Real life problem or not I don't know). Also looking back at TL Wiki history, the 2 old translators was leave when they about to translated Chapter 10. And I think that's all I could said in regard of the translation history. I'm sorry if I couldn't tell much, but what I remember is that when I saw the VNDB date that it'll be released on 2013, I'm waiting in vain until December, while back at 2013 JAST managed to release Yumina. Oh, back at 2015, somehow JAST managed to delay it more until April (Although guess I shouldn't be surprised here though).
About the premise, we had our usual clueless MC (Setoki Nozomu), his childhood friend and the student council president who somehow love MC (And befriended MC) trapped in the other world along with some students from MC's school. And by the way, after facing some enemy MC and his friend discovered their ability to fighting the enemy, and from there they begin to searching a way to back to their own world. Oh, by the way, if you interested with the red-haired girl, she was the student council president herself (Ikaruga Satsuki).
For the cast, I think I'll just give the list to some main character (According to VNDB) the picture link, since I figured including picture here would make this post very long. So, for the girls in this game, we had:
Ikaruga Satsuki - The student council president that I talked earlier, and actually she was already knew her power from before the school trapped in another world. Oh, and she was kind of aggressive to get the attention from MC. As for the seiyuu, she was Shirai Ayano who voiced Olivia back in Romanesque and Nitta Cocoa in big breast nukige Bazooka Cafe. Other than that, I think mostly the VN that had her mostly untranslated Nagamine Nozomi - MC childhood friend and @CeruleanGamer waifu by the way according to her. I think she was easily angered that MC was quite oblivious to her feeling in regard of love. Also she was form some sort of rivalry with Satsuki (What's with Satsuki try to get attention from MC), and actually didn't realize that she had power like Satsuki until the school was trapped in another world. For the seiyuu, she was Aoyama Yukari (aka Akane Tomonaga) who voiced Kazami Kazuki in Grisaia franchise, Kawakami Kazuko aka Wanko in Majikoi, Oda Nobunaga in Eiyuu Senki, and Soejima Hisoka in Comyu (For non eroge she was Moribe Jun in Root Double and Inubushi Keiko in Remember11). And my comment regarding seiyuu, Aoyama was definitely more well-known to English speaking VN compared to Satsuki's seiyuu. Katima Agaias - The princess knight that MC meet in the other world, and actually want to reclaim her kingdom because her kingdom was taken over by the people who want to rule the world ruthlessly (And by the way, I'll predict that the man who took over Katima's kingdom will be That One Boss candidate to some user here). For the seiyuu, she was Sakuragawa Miku who voiced some character from old VN (ie not translated and quite old one). Euphoria - Some sort of interesting character, and had nickname Euphy. According to VNDB, she had some kind of amnesia. For the seiyuu, she was Agumi Oto (aka Gotou Mai) who voiced Angelina in Katahane, Hayama Mizuki in ef, and Takekawa Benio in Comyu. I couldn't said much about Euphy here, since it would be major spoiler from the prequel Narukana - The mysterious girl who apparently appear in MC's dream. Narukana's seiyuu was Isshiki Hikaru (aka Tanaka Ryouko) who voiced Kurugaya Yuiko in Little Busters, Sakaki Yumiko in Grisaia franchise, Neon in Gahktun, and Hinaori Kagome in Comyu. Can't said much about her either, but what I knew her route was available on 2nd playthrough. I think that's all of the info I could give for now. Anyway, had fun and once again all of the user here could using this thread as Seinarukana discussion thread.
PS - Anyone else willing to translate the guide from here? If yes it would be helpful for some people who want to SS all the mission for each chapter.

Something which bears similiarities to it's design and is a MP-oriented experience? I can't really recommend an mmorpg, since they all fail to convey what creators wanted them originally to be, but Don't Starve or 7 Days to Die, for example; they achieve a lot more than BDO does and do it through simpler means. If you want exploration, mystery and atmosphere, play Hyper Light Drifter.

Before we've decided to translate this game, we threw a poll here to find out which game people preferred to see translated: this one vs Sakura no Uta -Sakura no Mori no Ue o Mau-. Some time later, we learned that some people might dislike to see the latter title translated for reasons, which was why we cancelled the poll shortly after. We didn't mean to make anyone upset by picking up the latter game, and if any of you had any bad feelings about it, we apologize.

SilverLi reacted to Maxel in Sharin no Kuni Prefundia page is up
Let's start with, where does the english title comes from?

Let's continue with, why the hell is "OPENING" (DEMO MOVIE?) not translated? It's probably because they don't have capable translators of doing so. As we all know most openings are quite hard to translate. Key did their job though. It might also suggest that they want to minimalize costs if kickstarter fail, they can abort the mission without losing much money.
And now, it looks like they're quite sceptical, by quite I mean QUITE towards core VN fanbase, and the crowd which is gonna try to fund this project. Project which is planning to edit existing superb translation, and make it top tier level. Yeah... Nope.
I heard that Sharin no Kuni h-scenes are bad or something, but... I think most people still want uncut version. I wonder what these "..." mean... Figure it out for yourselves.

You thought that Root Double devs were mad with shikishi pricing? Well, there you go! They're running for top tier spot with this price. I think they should add something like: Only for 4,000$!!

Let's look at the cost breakdown now:

    Localization costs of Grisaia SERIES - 64,000$ (Frontwing + SP) (50h+/10h+/10h+ = 70h+)
Localization costs of Clannad - 56,000$ (Key + SP) (50h+)
    Localization costs of Muv-Luv TRILOGY - 57,500$ (Age + Degica) (30h+/50h+ = 80h+)
    Localization costs of Root Double - 36,450$ (Regista + Lemnisca/SP) (50h+)
Localization costs of Sharin no Kuni - 49,000$ (Frontwing) (10h+)
Sharin no Kuni isn't a monstrous sized visual novel, it doesn't have 100,000 lines of text, yet looks like editing of a translation is quite costly, especially such high quality editing that this VN will probably receive.
Let's move further. Development costs 35,000$ I really do wonder where it goes? This visual novel was already translated, engine is old and well-known, because of this there shouldn't be much to do to make it run on english language Windows? Let's also add 7,000$ to that for creating a kickstarter page, and... yeah. There we have 140,000$, it's totally reasonable amount.
That should be all for now from my side... I'm disappointed. Can't wait to see their interaction with "fans" if there will be any.

SilverLi reacted to DarkZedge in Crunchyroll and Kadokawa form an alliance
It was announced on their Facebook aswell as the Crunchyroll site itself that they finally had formed an alliance that would give CR the exclusive worldwide digital distribution rights (not counting Asia) of Kadokawa's upcoming titles this year.

Here's what the press release said:

Crunchyroll and KADOKAWA Enter into Strategic Alliance

SAN FRANCISCO/TOKYO – Apr. 11, 2016 – Major anime streaming platform Crunchyroll, Inc. and major Japanese publisher KADOKAWA Corporation announced today the formation of a strategic alliance that will give Crunchyroll exclusive worldwide digital distribution rights (excluding Asia) for KADOKAWA anime titles in the upcoming year. The partnership will also involve a marketing collaboration between Crunchyroll and KADOKAWA’s publishing business in North America, among others.
Crunchyroll is the largest digital distribution platform in North America specializing in anime and other Japanese content, offering simultaneous subtitled distribution of Japanese anime and other content in 8 languages to its more than 20 million users worldwide (excluding Asia). The company’s majority investor is Otter Media, a venture formed with AT&T and The Chernin Group.
The strategic alliance between Crunchyroll and KADOKAWA involves, among other initiatives, (i) KADOKAWA’s licensing to Crunchyroll exclusive rights for the worldwide distribution (excluding Asia) for KADOKAWA’s slate of upcoming anime titles for the upcoming year, (ii) co-financing by Crunchyroll in KADOKAWA’s anime titles to be produced in the future and (iii) comprehensive marketing collaboration between KADOKAWA’s publishing business and Crunchyroll’s distribution platform business. Both parties regard the alliance as an important first step towards possibly further expanding relations in the future.
To bolster KADOKAWA’s planned formation of a publishing joint venture with the major U.S. publisher Hachette Book Group, specializing in manga and light novels (scheduled for May), Crunchyroll and KADOKAWA will seek to strengthen their relationship through a marketing campaign with the book publishing and anime distribution businesses, as well as joint efforts to expand relevant merchandising businesses, in order to maximize the growth potential of Japanese content in the North American market.
Masaki Matsubara, Representative Director and President of KADOKAWA said, “With their membership steadily increasing every year, Crunchyroll has established its firm position as the largest digital distribution platform specializing in Japanese content. Meanwhile, visitors at anime and pop culture events held in North America continue to rise year by year, demonstrating the increased popularity of Japanese content in the market. KADOKAWA considers the North American market as the most important international market for the company alongside the Greater China and Southeast Asian market where we have an existing business presence, and therefore look forward to our strategic alliance with Crunchyroll to secure an effective marketing collaboration system with our publishing business in the North American market, as well as contribute to the global growth of Japanese cool content as a whole, not limited to KADOKAWA.”
Kun Gao, GM of Crunchyroll, said, “The hunger for compelling anime, manga and light novel content is growing at an astounding rate throughout the world, and KADOKAWA has always been at the forefront of creating that content. We look forward to working closely with KADOKAWA to provide Crunchyroll fans with access to the anime, merchandise, and books that they have demonstrated they want time and again.“

Japanese publisher Kadokawa Corporation announced on Monday via press release that it is entering into a joint venture with New York-based publishing company Hachette Book Group to publish manga and light novels in English. Under the new joint venture, Hachette's Yen Pressimprint will split off from being a completely-owned Hachette Book Group company, and will be jointly owned by Hachette and Kadokawa, with Kadokawa having a 51% stake in Yen Press. The new joint venture will launch in May, and Yen Press will be renamed Yen Press, LLC.
The press release mentions that Yen Press is the second largest English manga and light novel publishing company in North America. The press release also mentioned that sales of light novels have increased since Yen Press began publishing light novels in 2014. The announcement added that the new joint venture aims to establish light novels as a new content genre by using Hachette's existing production and distribution infrastructure, with Kadokawa providing leadership.
Yen Press vice president and publishing director Kurt Hassler will continue to lead Yen Press LLC under the title Managing Director and Publisher.
Yen Press previously collaborated with Japanese publisher Square Enix to release manga in English digitally.
Yen Press was founded in 2006 and aside from manga and light novels it also publishes Korean manhwa, Chinese manhua, original American comics, and original English graphic novel adaptations of existing properties such as Twilight and Maximum Ride.

SilverLi got a reaction from kingdomcome in What language should I learn (NOT japanese or chinese!)?
I have no idea where you live but I guess USA or England because you learned Latin. What about Italian? I don't really know any famous writers etc. but the Italian culture is rich and dozens of famous artists emerged from Italy. There must be something of value from them except the food. But maybe they were more oriented towards paintings.
If you are interested in Indian culture Hindi would perhaps be an interesting choice. But most likely completely useless because they got like 100 different dialects of the same language.
Otherwise I second Russian too. If you ignore most of the, sorry for my expression. Retards in any game it is an interesting country with a rich culture. It is different and not Spanish or French. I think French is completely useless as a language even though it has a rich history. Spanish is better if you ever decide to visit South America.
But I am also a language hating person. I think learning something as a third language is a waste except it is Chinese, Russian or German. Something you could perhaps use in the future. But I gave you my two cents at least of interesting languages.
If you want to waste your time Swedish is excellent. You could also curse our language and its stupid rules. It would be fun.
