  1. I mean yeah, it's possible, but there are probably fewer potential Chinese to English translators than Japanese to English translators in this scene. There's also the fact that you tend to lose a lot of the original nuance when you have a multiple-step translation, like jp->cn->en.
  2. It runs extremely well on Dolphin from my experience. Sakura Wars is the proto-Valkyria Chronicles, made by the same team. You can easily see VC's lineage in the Sakura Wars games, especially the later ones. And yes, there's waifu dating in them.
  3. Agreed. Game will only be good if I can make it so the story is about them learning how to play War Pigs on the piano.
  4. I didn't like it much. It was such a dry, humorless experience and I didn't like most of the characters. The drama was all really predictable as well. I rated it a 6.5 though, which seems really generous?
  5. That specific error he posted is 100% for sure a Visual C++ error and should have nothing to do with that, though I guess it may not hurt to try.
  6. Looks like you need a Visual C++ runtime. Not sure which one, so maybe just get this? http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/visual_c_runtime_installer.html
  7. I seem to remember a handful of insignificant references to the Meikyuu Grand Route in the after stories, but I don't remember exactly what they were and I doubt they are important anyway. The meat of the Meikyuu Grand Route is not on a different path as the Kajitsu routes + after stories, since it's a prequel story about Yuuji's past that applies to all routes.
  8. It was probably their own decision, and it's also probably not a bad decision for them to make, since these are the most popular kinds of VNs on Steam.
  9. You really think Moenovel is calling the shots at Pulltop and not the other way around?
  10. That is not what happened. The person who contributed VNR subs is completely different. The patch that was released was done from scratch in 17 weeks. The translator, Triplicate, is a natural bilingual, being (I believe) a Japanese American. This gives him a solid understanding of both languages and making it so he doesn't have to constantly look up words. He also worked on this patch at 6 - 8 hours a day, a frankly unreasonable amount of time to spend on translation. At the end of the day, though, translation speed isn't the best measure of a translator's ability, and understanding a language doesn't mean that you're talented at writing in it. The Hatsukoi 1/1 translation is honestly pretty rough from an English prose standpoint. The language is very stilted and unnatural, and is worse than your average MangaGamer or Sekai Project script if you're comparing him to them. This is something the translator himself admitted on his blog, he says he got better as he worked on the translation, and the later routes are better written than the earlier ones, and he also eventually wants to go back and redo the first few routes he translated. I know that feeling all too well.
  11. The last one wasn't, and this one seems like it won't be, either.
  12. Neither this VN, nor their previous one, are "supposed" to have sexual content. They were created as all-ages titles from the start.
  13. The translation of Divinity Stage, the last VN they released, was of acceptable quality. The opinions I've seen of the VN itself was that while it wasn't very good, it was still better than they expected. Like, it had actual routes and drama and stuff. It still seems like trash, but it's at least not Sakura-levels of trash.
  14. The completed patch has been released: https://tsurezurescans.wordpress.com/2017/05/06/hatsukoi-11-progress-update-17-full-patch/ The translator posted about the translation on his blog, it's a pretty interesting article: https://nisekoirantslations.wordpress.com/2017/05/06/the-end-of-hatsukoi-its-really-only-fitting/ To be honest I'm a little hesitent to get the complete patch right away since it sounds like the translator wants to go back and improve it at some point.
  15. >Wanting to turn down legit the best RPG soundtrack ever Shame. Seriously though, for me it was the opposite. The voices were too dang loud and I didn't want to be constantly blasted with the nonsensical yelling during battles, but there's no way to turn it down. Just gotta live with it. Who knows, maybe someday you'll get better musical taste.
  16. Frontwing *wants* to localize their entire catalogue. There's only so much manpower available to them though and they want to do third party stuff too, on top of seemingly releasing everything new of theirs in dual language from now on (not confirmed but seems likely), so it'll take a good long while to happen. Hatsumira is likely near the top of their to-do list, if that's any solace.
  17. There is no fan translated version of Shiny Days. What exactly did you download? The scene restoration patch?
  18. The SSS system is indeed awful, it's pretty much pure guesswork. Save and reload until you get the result you actually want, and even then you might screw up because what determines the Route A ending you get is actually really complex. Anyway, Route B may take place before Route A, but it still sheds some light on the events that transpire within. And then after that, additional routes are unlocked that take place after Route A, so don't worry about that. There's a definite story conclusion to be had in this game.
  19. Phantom Trigger is stand-alone, you don't seem to need to know anything about the original to understand it. However, it will spoil some things, as the events of the third Grisaia game heavily influence its setting, so if you do plan on playing those games, play them first.
  20. Whenever you see a nukige from a company localizers haven't or only barely worked with before, it's pretty safe to assume that it won't see a translation unless it's truly noteworthy in some way. No one has ever worked with Atelier Kaguya before, and even if someone did strike a deal with them, there isn't a particularly good reason to pick that specific title over any of the others among their vast catalog.
  21. I hope they're ready to flex their slang vocabulary with this one.
  22. VNDB has a highly rated friendship tag and no romance tags, so it seems like this is a VN without any romance.
  23. Decay

    Persona

I wouldn't say this like it's a guarantee. They're probably registering a lot of domains to cover all of their bases, and I doubt they have firm plans to make every single one of those games.
