  1. As Littleshogun says, they are essentially the same translations. They did a polishing pass and made the Steam version a bit better, but not by much from what I've seen.
  2. I heard they made some pretty big changes to the second half of the Kud route. Not sure how big exactly or what's different, though.
  3. A few months ago they asked for QC testers on Reddit. That's the only thing I've heard from them in the last year.
  4. The year's still not over! The claim was Eiyuu Senki in Summer, Princess X in Fall, Flowers in Winter, and Katahane early next year. JAST is actually releasing Princess X in fall like they claimed, so who knows. Maybe we'll see a December Flowers release or something.

  6. In which cases is it unnecessary? It's just a little hard to take your criticisms seriously when all you say is "they added words." "Adding words" is an integral part of the translation process. Sometimes removing them, too! I'd be interested to see a more nuanced criticism of the translation.
  7. Any votes made before a VN is out are voided. Any votes made after are impossible to prove wrongdoing with, unless we have instances where, like, the same IP is being used to cast multiple votes.
  8. You probably missed the edit I made a few minutes ago: That's not too different from her physical form in the true route, from what I can tell. The protagonist calling her a "woman" isn't a clear indicator in my opinion because who knows what gets lost in translation, or how the protagonist wants to call an immortal goddess. I think his comments on her at the start of her route was largely in reference to how different she seemed when she was walking around like everyone else and wearing normal clothes. Her difference in behavior was chalked up to how completely unfamiliar she was with having a physical form, basically reducing her to the status of a toddler who grow up in a hurry.
  9. Uhhhh, they did create her that way in the first place. That's how she was for the entire game. Maybe it's hard to tell because of the perspective in the CG's and the way she wears her kimono, but she's definitely a loli from start to finish. Just look at her on the cover:
  10. There are other tabs to that spreadsheet, look at the bottom of the sheet itself to see them. Translation is 21.3% done.
  11. Sekai Project these days tries to censor their games as little as necessary for their Steam releases (but different partners have different demands). This means that the kiss scenes are intact, the stories are left unbutchered, and there's even some nudity in some of their Steam releases. For Chrono Clock, the base game is completely unchanged, but there were never h-scenes in that part to begin with. The unlockable h-scenes aren't present in the Steam release, but the nudity in one of the heroine routes is left in uncensored. The SakuSaku h-scenes are good fap material but aren't very important to the story, though I'm only judging this from the previously-released partial patch. Maybe the Yuuri or Anne h-scenes are more important?
  12. That's just because there's no estimate given by Denpasoft like there is for the Steam version. I think it's reasonably safe to think that the 18+ version will come at the same time, but I suppose that's not a guarantee.
  13. The Steam version is currently $16 with discount, which seems incredibly low for a 35-40 hour multi-route VN. So if any of the prices were to be adjusted, I'd say raise the steam price. $40 base price is the standard price I'd expect to pay for an uncut 40 hour moege these days.
  14. If you look at the release on VNDB, you'll notice the icon next to it is red, and if you hover over that, it says "trial." It will also say this if you click on the release. This means that no completed version ever came out. For Amairo Islenauts, the "trial" patch was just a very short (5-10 minute) translation demonstration. The TL project was a real shame. On top of it falling apart like that, I heard it was of exceptionally low quality.

It still shows October for me (https://i.gyazo.com/8ea7b17efcbd98c013b3efa427d52b3e.png) There must be some kind of time zone weirdness with the internal release time they set behind the scenes (steam requires an exact internal release time, even if you are only advertizing a fuzzy estimate, so most publishers input placeholders) So, like, if it was set on 12am November 1st JST, it will show up as October for everywhere west of Japan and November in and everywhere east of Japan (to the date line). Makes you wonder what the actual intended estimate is.
  16. From what I've heard, they're not adding new routes, and the "new content" they touted was actually just animation for the non-anime routes.
  17. The common route of Kira Kira is like this, though the heroine routes are pretty normal.
  18. Scripting comes before testing. Testing and beta testing are the same thing. Beta testers play on an actual build of the game and their duties involve proofreading and testing for stuff involved in script implementation, like lines that display incorrectly, are cut off, that kind of stuff. They also test the program itself, making sure that there are no bugs or crashes. You need the script in the game to do this or else there's not much point. The main effort involved in "scripting" is making sure the game works with English text on a English locale computers without any issue. Sometimes, this actually involves rewriting the entire game engine from scratch. This is often what's happening when a game is stuck in "scripting" for a long time. Another reason for it to be stuck there is sometimes the Japanese developers actually handle all the technical work and the process of requesting features/changes and waiting for Japan to implement them can take a very long time depending on the company. MG not wanting to rely on this process is one of the reasons they started reprogramming many games with their own engines in Unity. Once the programming groundwork is laid, updating the actual game script into a live build of the game tends to be not much effort at all, so there's no real reason for them to wait until after proofreading to do that tech work. This is true sometimes even with amateur projects. On Dracu-Riot, it takes us no more than a minute to get the game running on the latest version of our scripts.

  20. It's very believable that they had to translate large parts (or maybe even all) of Sumaga, since the fan project they picked up was of rather low quality. The same doesn't seem to be what's happening with SakuSaku. Who knows what's up with that.
  21. Holy crap, the fuwafabulous theme now actually saves your color settings. It's a miracle!
  22. The point is to make it less confusing and inconsistent. It reads poorly when things like honorific usage and verb tense changes from line to line with no real explanation. You just have to infer from those things which is narration, which is inner thought. Parentheses makes this clear so you spend less time worrying about that crap and more time just reading.
  23. One thing you see in VNs from time to time is narration being written in a neutral voice in past tense, and inner thoughts written in character voice in present tense. I don't really like that too much unless the two are clearly denoted in some manner. One common VN technique for that is placing the inner voice in parentheses. A translated VN I know that does this is Duel Savior.
