  1. With Date A Live: Rio Reincarnatio being confirmed for an english release I figured I should make a review of it. Date A Live Rio Reincarnation is actually a collection of two Date A Live VNs that released on PS3 as well as a new story that I think can kind of be seen as a fandisc. The two PS3 VNs are Date A Live: Rinne Utopia and Date A Live: Arusu Install while the extra story is just called Date A Live Rio Reincarnation. For this review I will focus on each individual part on its own. A quick summary of Date A Live Rinne Utopia Date A Live Rinne Utopia takes place sometime after the first season on the anime and includes the characters introduced in the first season. Other than this there is also a new character Rinne a mysterious girl who seem to be Shido's neighboor as well as his childhood friend (they were never reunited, she was always there). Other than this there are some other odd things going on, for instance there is a huge tower in the middle of the city that only Shido finds odd and he has these dreams of a spirit appearing before him. During the common route there are of course also date events where you can choose between Kotori, Origami, Kurumi, Touka and Yoshino. After some of these date events you get into their routes and get an ending with them. After having gone through all the different endings you then unlock Rinne's route where I would say the meat of the story can be found. For my opinion of it I would first like to say that I think this is a really good Date A Live VN. It takes full advantage of the setting of Date A Live and I think it does an excelent job both telling a large impactfull story while also giving lots of nice moments with each of the different heroines and pretty satisfying endings with each of the heroines. For the heroine routes there is always something going on whether there is an internal conflict for one of the girls or it is something else going on, because of this it felt like each of the routes managed to carry themselves as their own story and also make the romance between the heroine and Shido feel satisfying. For the overarching plot I think they do a good job building it up throughout the VN during the different routes and I think the story it tells is something that works perfectly within the setting of a VN. Rinne's route at the end then works as a great climax for the story with lots of epic as well as emotional moments. A quick summary of Date A Live Arusu Install Date A Live Arusu Install takes place sometime after the second season on the anime and as such also includes Miku and the Yamai twins. The main setup of the story in Arusu Install is that Ratatoskr has made a new dating sim for Shido to practise on which is a fulldive experience that has a recreation of the city they live in as well as the people living there. There Shido is supposed to go on dates with AI's with the same personality and looks as the spirits. However early in the game he meets an odd girl called Arusu, that he has never seen before and shouldn't exist in the game, she ask him what love is as she is curious about it and don't understand it. As this happens Kotori who has been talking to Shido when he was in the game loses contact with him and the people on the outside are unable to get him out of there, meaning he is stuck within the game. This then makes all of the girls hook themselves up to the machine to enter the game so that they can save Shido. This means that they are all stuck in a replica of their city going to the same school and living in the same house. So this means that it is essentially as if they were in the real world other than the fact that side characters are npc, they are forced into roles that fit a dating sim and there is Arusu using her powers to make special date events that happens in the dream of Shido and the heroine that puts them in special suituations with the aim being for them to get closer so she can learn what love is. As for my review of Date A Live Arusu Install I guess I should start with the begining. I think that the way they use the setting of Date A Live to set up the story is really cool. Referencing my little Shido with the fulldive machine is really fun and I think it is a really smart way of getting the characters into suituations they otherwise wouldn't be. Other than this it also sets up a nice overarching mystery with Arusu and them being stuck in the game. Also because of the game's setting there are lots of things that are able to happen that wouldn't otherwise make sense and this is used to make lots of different scenarios with the girls. This I would say works well as fanservice for the girls not necessarily sexual fanservice, but more so seeing them in lots of different suituation like magical girl Kotori or shrine maid Origami which also provides some nice interesting artwork. A problem with this though is that these scenarios don't really do any job with building a good emotional story for the girls or get you connected to them, it just feels like pure fanservice with no substance. This made the routes for the individual heroines seem quite hollow, something that really hurt my enjoyment as this is the majority of the VN. The true route I feel does a good job on the emotional side and just in general having a pretty good and satisfactory story. So overall I would say that the setup and the true route are really good, but that it suffers from the other routes feeling empty only offering hollow fanservice that mainly just show different suitations with the characters in what seem like what if scenarios, though they do have good art and I would say some are quite enjoyable (magical girl Kotori is one that comes to mind). Date A Live Rio Reincarnation works pretty much like a fandisc for both of the previous VNs. I don't think I can really go much into it without spoiling things from the other VNs, but what I can say is that they meet a small girl named Rio who looks for the most important thing (she doesn't know what it is just that she is looking for it). As for the content of Rio Reincarnation it features a few nice scenes with the heroines as well as give a bit more of a proper ending for each of the VNs. I very much liked this addition as I really liked the different endings in it as well as the story it told in general being interesting. Just some quick remarks about the visuals, the visuals are really nice looking, which is to be expected as the artist is Tsunako, the artist behind the Neptunia series and Fairy Fencer F as well as being the illustrator for the original Date A Live light novel. However I found some rather annoying problems with the PS4 CGs. While most of them were as they should be, some of the CG variations had parts of the art that had been missplaced by a pixel or two or there being a difference in colour between two parts of the CG put together. Under are two examples with some red circles added just to show the area you need to look at. While these aren't really that noticeable I found it annoying as I like to screenshot all of the different CGs and have them on my PC to look at later and I don't want them to have these kinds of flaws. 2. Something I find interesting is that I think Date a Live Rio Reincarnation might be able to have a large reach. Compile Heart and Tsunako is quite popular mainly due to the Neptunia series and there is also the popularity that DAL has due to the anime and LN. As such I would imagine that many people that aren't typically into VNs will end up reading it. Hopefully it ends up getting more people into VNs in the english market as well as show japanese companies that VNs based on an established series can do well in the west.
  3. Something I want to mention is that Tsunako, the artist for this VN as well as other games from Compile Heart (Neptunia series and Fairy Fencer F) is also the original illustator for the Date a Live light novels. So it has art from the original artist.
  4. Train loli censorship, thus there's a reason to learn japanese.
  5. Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation got announced today, which is partly the reason I decided to do these reviews (my review of it will come a bit later). Anyways I think it means that there is a chance for other titles based on series that already had an anime before the VN, though Compile Heart is a bit special since they already have such a large focus on localizing their games.
  6. Over a few years now I have read some japanese VNs on the PS vita that are based on series that already had an anime before the VN. These VNs are Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?? Wonderful Party!, Himouto! Umaru-chan Himouto! Ikusei Keikaku, Nisekoi: Yomeiri!?, Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo, and To Love-Ru Trouble Darkness: True Princess. Since I have the physical version of all of them I figured that I would do a review of them, however it has been a while since i read them so I don't think I would be able to make a proper review for each of them without rereading parts of them. As such I decided that instead I would do short reviews of each and put them all in one blog entry. By the way these titles are aimed at people who have watched the anime or read the manga. Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?? Wonderful Party! is in my opinion a good Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu Ka? VN. It does a great job at properly representing the characters as they are in the anime (haven't read the manga) and manage to execute well on the relaxed atmosphere found in the anime. The main story of the common route is that Kokoa wants to make a surprise birthday party for Chino, after this the character that interact most Kokoa (who you play in the common route) will be inspired to themselves hold a party chrismas for all of the other girls. The main thing then is how each of the girls thinks about how best to hold a party and what will make the other girls the happiest. There is also a mini game in the common route where you play as Kokoa working at Rabbit House, this is quite short but can be annoying when you just want to get into another route. I also want to mention that I prefered it to the anime as many of the jokes in the anime seems to be too slowly phased and therefore become boring while they work pretty well in the visual novel. One thing I should also mention is that it of course feels quite childish which is to be expected since the series in Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu Ka? Himouto! Umaru-chan Himouto! Ikusei Keikaku managed to surprise me by being better than I had expected. It released before the 2nd season of the anime, but I would say that the general vibe of it is more similar to the 2nd season rather than the first season, something that I think is a good thing, btw didn't hate first season just thought the 2nd season was better. As for the common route I would say it was pretty decent and had some nice comedic moments, really liked the interactions between Taihei and Alex. As for the routes I would say those were the highlights of the VN. There are 3 different Umaru routes, one for UMR, one for her chibi form and one for her outside form as well as a route for Ebina, Kirie and Sylphinford. The routes did a good job at telling a story (mostly focusing on the relationship between siblings, not the incestious kind) and the comedy was what you would expect from Himouto Umaru (Sylphinford had some amazing comedic moments). Also after the end of the route there is an extra ending, this ending is just a few lines and a CG and tells what Umaru ended up as later, something that depends on lvling stats in the common route (just give her items that she use to lvl skills and have her use them). Again this is an annoying mini game and you probably need a guide to find out the stat combination needed for all the extra endings, but at least I think the extra endings are quite fun even though they are really short. Nisekoi: Yomeiri!? is the first VN I ever read and where my profile picture is from. As for the VN itself I think it is really good, though it could in part be nostalgia since it is the first VN I read. The VN starts with Raku encountering a loli fox spirit named Otama who I would say works as a mascot for the VN. After the introduction you get a map of the school and of the city and then use that to choose who you want to have events with, after a few normal events with a girl you get a larger event that lasts longer and has a bit more impact and you continue with this until you get to the last event which can probably be considered her route. Each of their routes start with the girls going to the shrine connected to Otama and making a wish, Otama then fufills this wish in a way often not really expected or thought through by the one wishing it, thus creating a suituation that needs to be solved. As for the routes there are 6 in total, with 4 main routes that are romance focused one for each of the main heroines Chitoge, Kosaki, Marika and Seishirou and then extra routes unlocking after you have completed a route, one being the Ruri route (not romance but mainly about not making her hate you as Shuu involves you in things that piss her off) and the Raku route which can be considered the harem end, or rather the end where nothing happens. Chitoge's route is really emotional and something I think would fit in a nakige, Onodera's route is very nostalgic having many references to the main series while the other routes mainly focus on comedy (found most of them hilarious). As for gameplay there are a few minigames where you have to avoid being seen by someone (often the gangsters), then there are a few times where you get a few different hiragana that you need to combine to make a word that is your answer to something and lastly there is a health bar which mainly go down if a certain character gets mad at you and punches you or you eat something you shouldn't. I feel like these are the best implemented mini game systems I have seen so far in these kinds of VNs and while these unnecessary minigames that slow you down when you want to read other routes are annoying this one didn't feel all that annoying and a few times actually worked pretty well within the story. Just to end this of I wanted to say that it does a really good job using the characters to their full potential and that anyone who is a fan of Nisekoi, has a PS vita and know japanese should pick it up. Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo is something I am a bit more mixed about. On one hand it does a pretty good job with the characters, comedy and story and on the other hand the art is kind of plain (colours are pretty bland) and the gameplay system is really annoying (the most annoying I have seen so far) which I think is somewhat detremental when doing the different routes. The general story is about the people at Sakurasou starting to work together on a game for a game competition. How this plays out in the VN is that you spend time working with them and depending on who you work with you end in their route, though you also need to ensure that all of them manages to get their required tasks done and I found it to be a bit more complex than it sounds. Other than that there are lots of scenes with the different people at Sakurasou as well as a new character that was the one who got them to enter the competition. As I mentioned I found the comedy to be well executed and the characters to be handled well so these scenes are pretty fun. As for the endings there are only endings with Shiina and Aoyama, though there are 3 variations for each of them which I think just depend on how many times you cleared an ending with them (bad type first time, better 2nd time and the best the 3rd time). They have also built in a stupid new game+ thing making it so you have to complete it from scratch to get the better endings, other than that there is an event for each character that includes a CG that requires you to go through each of the 6 routes twice meaning you have to go through it and the stupid gameplay system at least 12 times in total if you want to have all the CGs. In conclusion I would say it is a pretty good VN though it is held back by plain art with bland colours and a stupid system forcing you to go through the VN 12 times to get all the scenes while you navigate a semi difficult annoying system for each route. To Love-Ru Trouble Darkness: True Princess is the only of these titles that I found to really be a disappointment. There is a wide variety in how good the routes are, some I would say are actually somewhat good while others are quite bad (especially Yami's route). While there is a lot of VN original content some of the scenes feel like pretty much a copy of things in the manga/anime just toned down due to it being on PS vita. The general plot is that that Rito loses his memory due to one of Lala's machines, then he spends time with the different girls and at the end of it he regains his memory after having gotten close with a girl and happy end. Other than some routes being generally poorly written and lending too much from the source matterial I would say a huge problem is the limitation it has being on the vita. Since To Love Ru generally rely on perverted comedy it can't really do as good of a job with it due to Sony even before their recent censorship crusade not really accepting anything as lewd as things found in the manga and anime. Other than this there are also some really annoying technical problem, for one all of the art has been compressed which is quite clear when comparing it to other vita titles, this makes it look much worse than it should have (art quality is pretty good), also one really annoying problem is that it seems it has memory problems, as you get close to having done all the scenes it just goes black everytime you try to save regardless of savefile and refuses to save after the VN is complete. This is a problem I found other people also had when I googled the problem in japanese though I didn't find a solution, as such I have everything other than the ending CGs of the Nemesis route (at her ending part but won't save after the credits) when I have the memory card in and without the memory card I have done the Nemesis route so I could get all CGs, even though I don't have them all in the same place. 7. Agree, unless Sony changes their approach I will avoid buying games on PS4 as much as possible.
  8. Two CG scenes were modified for the PS4 release, while the Steam version will remain unedited. Please note that the gameplay for both games has not changed from the Japanese version. Found at http://ideafintl.com/updates/2018/11/08/6425.html
  9. Haven't seen anything about it but I am pretty sure they usually have both english and japanese text on their steam releases.
  10. I have now added my japanese VN collection as well since I also plan to cover my japanese titles on this blog as well.
  11. I have now decided that rather than having this blog be limited to only english physical releases I have, I will cover all the physical releases I have including the Japanese ones. Because of this I will add a review I made a bit over a month ago to the blog. New Game! The Challenge Stage! is a VN based on the manga/anime New Game and I think having gone through either of them should be essential before reading this VN, because of this I will just assume that the people reading this is already familiar with the manga or anime. Under here is the basics of how it is set up. The common route of the VN covers roughly the two last months of development of fairies story 3. This is some point after Nene has joined as a debugger by the way so the status quo is already established. Since it takes place during this time there are some events in the VN that are the same as those that happen in the anime though most of the scenes are VN original. There is also an extra added story element which is that Aoba has been given the job of working as the art director of a DLC afterstory for Sophia (the first character she made), which seems to involve her getting resurrected. In this part of the VN there are mostly short scenes that happen as you progress through the days with it being more story heavy towards the end of the common route when they release fairies story 3. After this there are eight different character routes following each of the different important characters in New Game, excluding those introduced in the 2nd season of the anime. These routes take place during a company vacation that last 3 days and take place either at Hokkaido or Okinawa with 4 character routes each place. The one in Hokkaido is a bit based on the OVA where they go to Hokkaido though I don't think the Okinawa one is based on any existing material, but I have only watched the anime so I am not certain it isn't in the manga. Now with the general structure of the VN out of the way I guess I can start with what I thought of New Game! The Challenge Stage! To start with I would have to say that I quite enjoyed New Game! The Challenge Stage! with the reason being that it does a good job at handling the different characters of New Game which is an anime I love. The common route of the VN is what I found to be the least impressive, in this part there is a gameplay element of choosing who to work with to get stats in their part of the game development which is then used to complete the DLC story and also start events with the different characters as well as determining the route you end up in. While the system isn't too bad the first time you play through it, it gets rather annoying when doing all the routes since you have to go through it 8 times and all it does is slow you down. The scenes during the common route are rather short but the interactions between the characters are rather nice and does a good job at capturing the same charm as the anime. Other than choosing who to work with there is also the weekend where you can choose between 4 of the characters on saturday and the remaining 4 on sunday and have events with them. As for the later part of the common route, well that is rather heavily based on the later part of the first season of the anime since it covers the release of fairies story 3, it does a decent job mixing the suituations with a few choices to keep it from not feeling completely the same. The character routes were in my opinion rather good. All of the different routes has a completely different story and all manages to do a good job at handling the characters and making interesting interactions between them. As for the stories themselves none of them are really that deep, instead just telling smaller stories. Some of them focused mainly on comedy and some of them focused a bit more on something a character was worrying about though all of them fit right in with things I would expect from New Game like keeping itself energetic and fun. As for the end of each route I would advice anyone who wants to read it to not expect much, the routes end with the vacation ending and either a short nice scene between the characters or with them being back to working again. There is also an extra ending at the end which is based on the stats you got during the common route where I think you need 225+ or 230+ with different stats to get the different endings. These extra endings are rather short and pretty much just tells what Aoba end up doing after some time, things like for some reason becoming a programmer or game director, I personally just treat these as some nice what if scenarios with nice artwork attached. In conclusion New Game! The Challenge Stage! is a good New Game VN that manages to capture the characters and the feels showed in the anime. The common route has some rather annoying gameplay mechanics that seems unnecessary and otherwise have short but still fun scenes between the characters when they are working. The character routes are all smaller stories without much impact but does a good job at being entertaining which I think is what their aim should be. The front of the regular physical edition The back of the regular physical edition The disc as well as a DLC code for bunny costume, don't remember if it was pre-order bonus or first print bonus. Not much to say about the physical edition itself as it is just a standard PS4 case. The only thing to really comment is that I think the cover looks quite good.
  12. Maybe I should make a review of it since so few have read it. Edit, decided that I will also add reviews of VNs I have read in japanese to my blog where I review VNs I have a physical copy of as well as showcase the physical edition.
  13. Compile heart is going to release Date a Live Rio Reincarnation in english summer 2019. This is a Date a Live spin off VN that actually is a collection of two VNs Date a Live Rinne Utopia and Date a Live Arusu Install as well as a fandisc called Date a Live Rio Reincarnation. Since it is Compile Heart they plan on releasing it on PS4 and Steam and based on the article about it on animenewsnetwork the PS4 edition will have two scenes changed (censored), we all know how bad Sony has been regarding censorship recently, while the Steam version shouldn't have that problem. I think this is an interesting announcment since it is quite rare that a VN based on something that had an anime before the VN very rarely gets an english translation. As for whether I will pick it up or not I would say maybe I will buy it when it is cheap on steam as I already have the japanese limited edition for PS4. As for the VN itself I quite enjoyed reading it in japanese and I do think it does a good job at both giving lots of moments with each spirit as they all have a route each as well as have an actual story with each of the VNs that I felt worked quite well and was rather emotional. I wonder what other people think, do you care about this or do you not care about Date a Live or in general VNs that are spin offs of established titles?
  14. Think it has to do with it working quite well when displaying. Personally I think when the boxes are big they look best when they are horizontal. Just think about how screens mainly are 16:9 rather than 1:1 or 9:16 or how people prefere horizontal pictures rather than vertical pictures. As for why smaller boxes usually don't do it, I would assume it has to do with saving space which the people making VN boxes clearly don't care about. As for why western publishers do it I would assume that is just since the artwork for the japanese version is already horizontal and they don't want to change the art.
  15. Having just taken a quick look at the CGs it seems like the twins have roughly as much focus on outdoor sex as each other. Will fix this. As for why I wrote Hiyori had more I guess it is based on the scenes leaving more of an impression. In Koharu's route Koharu is the one who starts these scenes and don't really seem worried about being caught, while in Hiyori's route it is the older brother who thinks of the suituations and Hiyori is quite embarresed about it, as such I think Hiyori managed to pull of the outdoor scenes better as it did a better job at making you feel that they could be found out simply by Hiyori actually being worried about it, which is likely why I mainly thought of Hiyori when thinking of the outdoor sex scenes.
  16. I think it is natural to take more work before old work is done, however there still needs to be a ballance and they can't just license too much. If they aren't going to be able to handle it in a somewhat reasonable time then they probably shouldn't license more. This is so you avoid the SP problem where some big licensed titles gets neglected for a long time like the yuzusoft titles.
  17. https://www.sankakucomplex.com/2018/11/01/nekopara-ps4-pussy-censorship-goes-too-far/ Well another example of Sony's censorship. Guess I am not going to pick it up to see the replacement scenes then or I will just pick it up once I buy a switch, anyways sony just lost a sale.
  18. Mangagamer had a huge sale with 25% of for all physical copies. Jlist had a smaller sale with a discount of $5 if you buy for more than $40, $20 if you buy for more than $100 and $40 if you buy for more than $200. Lastly Rightstufanime had a sale on Yume Miru Kusuri and the Moeru series. Those are the black friday sales relevant for physical VNs in 2018. With Frontwing\s last update they have said that they have shipped some packages for the Corona Blossom kickstarter and that they expect to continue with the shipping until December. For Vol 1 and 2 of Grisaia Phantom Trigger they have also sent some packages, however they found a missprint on the physical manga and has to reprint that. With Grisaia the complete box they found a problem regarding the english translation for the drama CDs, they also mentioned that since Grisaia complete box is so expensive for customers that is their highest priority at the moment. They also mentioned that they plan to have finished shipping for Momoiro Closet mid December and that shipping for Wonderfull Everyday and Island is planned to start during December. Of course given their constant delays I do expect some of not all of them to at least be pushed back a bit more. Fatal Twelve physical edition from their kickstarter has been shipped acording to their kickstarter. Backerkit for Island is now open. The backerkit for Venus Blood Frontier has now opened for those who want to get the physical edition but for some reason didn't pledge for the kickstarter. Another backerkit that has opened is Seven Days for those who missed out on the kickstarter but still want to get a physical edition. OniiKiss: Onii-chan, Where's My Kiss? and The Future Radio & the Artificial Pigeons has now gotten a page on the Sol Press site and it shows that they plan to sell physical edition of them through Hyourin. Taking this into consideration I would assume they plan to have physicals of all their future releases on Hyourin. Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation is confirmed to get an english release and to get a physical edition for PS4. One thing to note with the PS4 edition though is that two of the scenes will be modified (censored). Here are a few titles that may be close to getting sold out or have a limited time left for pre-order. Physicals for Hard Work might be limited to the pre-order, not really sure how Denpasoft does it regarding physical releases. There is also a limited amount of physical copies for Clannad: Side Stories at sekaiproject, it seems to be leftovers from the original kickstarter. On PS vita the physical edition of Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternate is being sold over at ricedigital and I am pretty sure that it is a limited run. Backerkits that are still open Alpha's Adventures, Island, Loca-Love My Cute Roommate, Sakura Sakura, Seven Days and Venus Blood Frontier
  19. Since this month is done the blog entry is now complete for this month.
  20. My guess would be that it is based on christianity. The religion is extreemly sexualy repressive and also contains lots of violence like God drowning almost all of life or God ordering a tribe to kill everyone in another tribe including woman and children, well unless the women are virgins in which case they can keep the women for themselves. The society having been based on these books for so long and there still being so many people who believe in them I don't really find it that odd that there are people who are totally okay with children seeing violence and murder but go into a complete fit when their children see anything remotely sexual. They don't think as rational people only thinking about the actual effects these things have on their children but rather based on what their religion tells them is bad or what society which was previously based on this says is bad.
  21. Actually I don't feel like incest work that much as a main fetish in Imopara. Only one of the routes actually focus on feeling that what they are doing is wrong in the eyes of society and that it is a forbidden love. Other than that it is pretty much just that they call him older brother (each with a different way to say it) and that he has some internal monologue about how he loves all of his little sisters. While of course incest is a bit of the draw since it is in the title and it is the setting of it I just don't think they actually try to use it that much as a fetish rather it seem to mostly be used as a way to have all of them be in love with him already so there isn't any need to wait for the girls to fall in love. Them having spent time with him their whole life just makes it easy to explain that they have fallen for him and as such they can just jump to the sex scenes after a short introduction which is pretty convenient for a nukige. Also it works well with the dialoge since the different girls are very familiar with each other and then don't really hold back when they say anything infront of each other. This is something I think drives most of the comedy. Also changed the line you quoted since what I originally meant was sex in places where others could find out, which also means not only public but also within their house in suituations where other sisters could find out.
  22. I think one of the main strengths of VNs is that they usually have a complete story. With manga you have to worry about maybe the magazine axing the series like how they completely ruined the end of Beelzebub or that they will push a popular title to continue longer than it should like they did with Death Note. With anime, well they are usually an adaption of something and they usually don't tell the entire story of the original. So with manga and anime being so risky in terms of getting a complete story with a proper ending I think VNs are a really good medium for those who just want to start a story with the knowledge that it will be complete. The only point where I feel like an episodic VN might work is if they aren't sure of the success and make an episode that can work on its own and end in a way where you don't feel like you get cheated of the story. This I think is quite rare though for instance I think Nekopara vol 1 would work pretty well as a self contained story if it had been a financial failure, so pretty much either it does a story that feels complete but also feels like it can easily be expanded on or it is just a shitty thing to do.
  23. If you are having an identity crisis just watch The Tatami Galaxy or something else aimed at people with identity struggeling to find their place in life.
  24. If it is not clear by the title or by the pictures under Imouto Paradise is a nukige about an older brother and his five little sisters. If this doesn't sound like anything you want to read it probably isn't going to be something you enjoy. Before the review I would like to mention that it has been about one and a half year since I read all of the routes of Imopara so I have probably forgotten some details. To make sure that my general feeling towards Imopara was right I did reread different parts of it though so I don't think anything I will write here would contradict with what I would have written if I had read it more recently. First a quick summary of Imopara. Imopara is about a perverted older brother and his 5 little sisters Aya, Michika, Rio and the twins Hiyori and Koharu. Summer vacation just started and their parents are on an overseas trip due to work. This leaves the siblings alone and opens up the chances for them to express their feelings for each other. As for how it plays out there is first an introduction and then you get an option to spend time with one of the sisters. Spending time means a sexual scenes will happen and as you continue picking the same sister you end up with actual sex scenes and enter her route. You can also chose to just relax and stay at your room, after doing this for all the choices the little sisters become worried and it leads to the harem route. Here is a bit about each of the little sisters Aya is the little sister who takes charge of most things in the house like cooking and laundry and pretty much acts like their mother while their parents are away. Her route is pretty much the only one that actually focuses on the fact that what they are doing is incest and she is the only one to be a bit bothered by it. As for her sex scenes I think the vibe they go with is pretty similar to a wife wanting to make her husband happy. Michika is pretty quiet doesn't show a lot of emotions and generally spends her time reading books. She is also open about being a sadist who want her brother to be her masochism dog and often recommend him books about masochism. While she is a sadist most of her scenes don't really go that far with it, it is mostly about how she is in control during the sex scenes and how she talks down to him and try to excite him with dirty talk. One thing I also want to mention is that I found her voice during the sex scenes to be really good and quite a turn on. Rio is a pretty obvious tsundere who is also a closet pervert. Her being a tsundere and her brother being a pervert causes lots of comedic moments. Generally he says something perverted and she gets mad and if he continues she use one of her ultimate moves which is either elbowing or kneeing him. As for her sex scenes they mostly revolve around different non penetrative acts such as hairjob, elbowjob, footjob, etc. though she does also have some actual penetrative sex scenes as well. Hiyori is the loli sister, she is small cute childish and doesn't really know anything about sex. The first scenes focus on the main character teaching her different things about sex and having her do sexual things in front of him and to him. Most of her sex scenes focuses on embarising suituations and I think she and her twin Koharu are the ones who does the most risky stuff (doing sexual stuff in public or at home when there is a risk of other sisters finding out). Koharu is a tomboy who excels at everything related to physical activity has endless stamina and a bottomless stomach. She is also an open pervert who kind of has a rivalry with her brother of who can be most of a perv. During the sex scenes she is very direct and uses a lot of dirty talk to turn her brother on. While she does have lots of risky scenes they feel quite different from Hiyori's risky scenes since she really isn't embarrassed and isn't nearly as worried about being found out. Now for the actual review. I think Imouto Paradise does an excelent job at what it sets out to be. Since they are siblings they generally don't hold back when talking to each other which causes some great comedic moments. Due to their differents personalities there are so many fun scenes and I would say the general comedy is just great. As for the sex scenes I would say that they work really nice, each of the distinct personality work really well within the sex scenes and the main character being a pervert also helps since he can do things like tease them or have funny perverted thoughts while having sex causing the scenes to not become boring (at least in my opinion). One thing that seem to be quite prevelent in all of the routes regarding the sex scenes though is having sex in risky places, while I mentioned that the twins has most of this, the other sisters also have a substantial amount of it. So in general I would say sex in places where others could find out is probably the main fetish of Imopara. Also each route feels distinct due to how different the dynamic is between the brother and the little sister as well as how they each route focus on different sexual things. As for the story don't expect much, mainly the routes has some small internal conflict for the little sister to deal with but it keeps itself light hearted since the aim of it is to be a good upbeat nukige with lots of fun character moments rather than tell a complex story. As for the art I would say it is pretty good though it is a bit stiff in my opinion, also for some reason the eyes look a bit grainy. As for genetalia artwork, well it is pretty bad and range from meh to just horrible. Each route feature one sex scene where it is animated after penetration, the animated part is kind of grainy and it is annoying that it isn't possible to turn of while reading it or in the CG gallery. As for the music I found it to be good and pleasing to listen to and just work well with the mood of the VN. Here is the front of the hardcopy The back of the hardcopy The inside including the disc The reversible cover (think it works best on the inside) The physical copy is pretty standard and has nothing special, it is just a normal dvd case with a reversible cover. As for importing it well it does feature sexual artwork though it doesn't show the loli twins in any sexual position so that should potentially help against problems with importation related to anti loli laws.
  25. They also plan on publishing manga so one title is probably a manga.
