What are you playing?

Just finished Wanko's route, and I have to say, so far it's my favorite.  It managed to be serious without entirely shifting the overall feel of Majikoi.  Plus, Wanko is adorable, so she gets best girl so far because of that.  At the end, before

the second earthquake, I wanted to yell at Moro, Wanko and Yamato for going into an abandoned, decrepit building

immediately after an earthquake.  I mean, seriously?  Thought it was common knowledge that you should stay out of buildings until you're sure the earthquake is over, and going into an abandoned building on top of that...ugh.  Not smart.

I also found the single, realistic h-scene rather refreshing, and then I read her after-story :makina:

Ero scenes are only thing that makes it only bad and not terrible in my eyes. But you know, there is a version without ero scenes. Why anyone would like to read this if not for ero I have no idea.

That's for people that like staring at animu boobies without actually having to play through something that has real porn in it.  Case in point: Sakura Spirit and its Steam reviews.

so since I'm playing it ill ask here, i noticed on the walkthrough that the different route choices end on different chapters, does that mean that some routes are shorter, should i do them first or should i just do the one i want first? i was careful not to look at what the actual choices ahead are but i did notice this one thing

In some of the chapters you get the chance to enter a girl's route. If you don't want to you continue with the game to the other chapters. You will enter Haru's if you don't pick one. They aren't really shorter than other routes. You don't have to do them first since they don't really have anything to do with the maou thing so you can do them in any order if you want.

I'm currently playing Clannad. I decided to try it for how well known it is.

So far, I'm not as addicted or much into the story as the previous awesome visual novels I played before as the story simply seems to revolve around a typical school-life and it's somewhat bland, but I don't hate it either. It's something more ordinary than the average Sci-fi and Mystery genres I've been playing before, which is a little refreshing.

It makes me curious to know if there'll be more action or drama than what's currently happening in my game right now. Character development is always the most important part in my book, so even if nothing much seems to be going on, the interactions between the characters are still intriguing.

I'm currently at the part where

Sunohara has also decided to help Furukawa form the Drama Club.

I'm sure he doesn't mean it in a bad way, but in how gameplay VNs take a lot of time to play and he used up his time doing something else instead of playing.

Also to stay on topic still playing Bunny Black.

If you mean my replay of Yumina the Ethereal, I used Cheat engine, which cuts a lot of time

Is Eustia really that good for you?

Yeah. Easily. Hands-down. I'll post a full review (and start my own review blog at the same time!) once I'm done with the whole game, but unless they suddenly switch writers halfway through and jump the shark I doubt my opinion will change much by the end. The game is just engrossing.

V Yeah, that's the only downside. I dislike her greatly already but it's not like she's poorly written... she's just written to be incredibly frustrating and annoying and the writers succeeded too well at it.

Well, Clephas insists that Eustia is the worst heroine so you have that to look forward to when the late parts of the game focuses heavily on her.

I found her innocuous enough but I've only read what was in the english partial patch.

There will be drama. Oh, yes, there will be drama.

This is just my personal opinion, but try doing it like this:

Yukie - Chris - Miyako - Wanko - Momoyo

Momoyo includes epic stuff, certainly worthy of that final route feeling (even if you have Agave), Wanko route should be done at the later stages, definitely. The other three may more or less depend on what you feel like, though you may regret doing Miyako first.

Thanks for the reply. I actually started Yukie first, and it seems for the rest of them I had a similar idea to what you did. I think I'll follow what you said.

big spoiler ahead <duh>

he kidnaps a lil kid, from what i gathered till now he must have some sort of dual personality, triple personality, whateves so let's just say i... half hate him <quarter hate him maybe>

but then again i just dipped a knee into the vn i haven't sank all the way in so well see later, I am a firm believer of many things, two of which are that the goal does not excuse the means and the journey is a hell of a lot more important than the destination, maybe that will get you some insight on why i hate him

btw this reminds me of sw kotor except i never saw it coming in kotor while here it was kinda painfully obvious

 yoosh i quarter hate him

i assume it's gonna have a grand moment where the personaities clash inside his head and yada yada whatevs the good personality wins and so on but still, I find it really hard to let go of the past ^^

I'm currently reading Miyako's route in Majikoi...but I'm having a  really hard time progressing....

the story so far is sex sex, and MORE SEX, the other routes I have finished (wanko and chris) have some sort of problem they will solve, I guess Miyako's problem is her distancing herself with other people more since she is going out with Yamato?

Did anyone else have the same struggle as me?

For all the wait for it to get translated Miyako's route was lackluster I could almost see why Takajun stopped at 85 percent

Still playing Shikkoku no Sharnoth. Just reached Act 10.

Holy shit. The screams of the Banshee in Act 9 was the creepiest scream yet. Imagine running in the interstice of Sharnoth with the monster shouting your name again and again. Holy shit. I don't even know how you'll make out words from that. Anyway, it's really good. I haven't been this interested in a visual novel for a long time. Maybe because it's been a long time since I read one. Long story short, Sharnoth's really good. Charlotte's someone I would've loved to see more of, but it's alright. Mary's a great character imo. Well, heading towards the end. Finally, the Gate of Tartarus has opened!

Since the metacreatures shares the memories of their "victims" it's basically Charlie who pursue you calling you "Mary, mary, mary"

I just picked up Oblivious Garden which has been in my Steam library for a while now. I feel racist to say I hate Chinese VNs, but I really do. It's like when I started reading VNs and watching (just a little bit of) anime I didn't particularly like Japanese VOs because some of their voice stereotypes were annoying, but I got so used to the pronounciation and such that I now prefer Subbed stuff over Dubbed and now that I actually like hearing Japanese VOs I can't stand Chinese VOs. I swear everyone in Oblivious Garden sounds like they have a lisp or something and they can't pronounce anything. It was the same way reading that other Steam Chinese VN (Shan Gui) I can't tell if maybe it's just they have low production values or if it's the Chinese audio, but eww :/ part of me wants to turn off voices but I prefer games with VOs and since they have them I'd feel like I was gypping myself to turn them off.

Other than that I bought Little Witch Romanesque: Editio Perfecta just because the Steam version was out and I also wanted the Steam key. It's been sitting on my wishlist for a while though. I feel my inner girl shows when I pick up games like that I'm such a Raising Sim/Management Sim addict. I wish more were translated into English. I mean like games with cute chicks and lots of boobs are cool and all but like Raising Sims man.

Yeah. It's just that it's really creepy hearing it every time the Banshee says something to Kitty. Though I thought that was great. Time to see the ending. Tomorrow, I guess. It's really good.

That sounds pretty accurate, sadly.  I like Miyako as a character, but her route is pretty simple, aside from the character development.

They have so much sex that they presumably couldn't keep making HCGs and just went with time skips xD

The massive amount of H aside, I liked her development as a character, but that's probably because I sympathize with her social issues and her past.  I guess either you like that part of her route or you don't.
