Sayaka reacted to Dreamysyu in What kind of ending structure do you prefer?
I don't really care if one ending is considered more "canon" than the others (I honestly don't know why people care about canons that much). At the same time, even if it's not a "true" ending, I prefer VNs that have one ending that's supposed to be played last and gives some kind of the closure to the VN as a whole. Otherwise it sometimes starts to feel like a collection of loosely connected stories rather than one uniform work. A good example is Fate which does not have a real true ending, but the true ending to Heaven's Feel feels like a nice place to finish it.
I vote for OTO for that reason, but it's not like I care that much. The first Grisaia, for example, works absolutely fine even without a true ending, and Rakuen imo only makes it worse.

Sayaka reacted to Akshay in What kind of ending structure do you prefer?
1.This isn't always the case. Tsukihime's true endings were pretty sad to the point where he had to make an alternate good ending to make people feel better. Rather than to force you into a certain ending, a lot of the times a true ending tries to show you an alternate perspective on events you have already seen. It requires information, which is shown in other routes, rather than just infodumping it in the true route. For example, in multiple route mysteries it acts as an "answer" kind of route, where everything you have learnt comes into perspective for the final twist. This doesn't make other possibilities (routes) untrue, rather they are part of the journey. They set your expectations and build up the ending. I wouldn't have enjoyed Cartagras endings so much without going over all the other ends first.
2. All of fates routes are true and cannon including the bad ends and fandiscs. There is an entire set of magic called the kaleidoscope (second true magic) that explains this.

Hey, never say never. Maybe VNs will come back to ha... I mean, entertain you yet. ^^
And, well, no hard feelings for sure. I know how hard it can be to deal with a place/topic connected to bad memories and anxieties, moving on is sometimes the right choice. If you ever feel like giving VNs and this place another go, don't hesitate to say hello. No one will mind the "inconsistency".

Sayaka reacted to UnlimitedMoeWorks in An Official Farewell
Apologies for making this thread in the "Introduce Yourself" section, but I see nowhere else to put it.
Anyway, after taking the time to regather my thoughts considering my recent mental state, I've officially decided that I will be leaving Fuwanovel. This isn't out of personal malice, but considering everything I have directly and indirectly caused on both this forum and on the discord, my stress level is at an all-time high, and I could not take the pressure anymore. You guys were good people, and it was fun to hang out with you while it lasted.
That being said, I was never into VNs to begin with. For this whole time, I felt like I was forcing myself to read a medium I do not particularly enjoy in order to fit in with the community, and it just felt unnatural. Don't forget that I never joined this community for VNs alone, but that I just wanted to mingle with people, and that's about it really. Obviously, this backfired on me as I had no idea what you guys were talking about 90% of the time, and I only made myself known talking about non-VN related stuff. I'm more of an anime and video game type of guy, and VNs are just not for me. I'm very sorry. The only VN I'll continue to read after this is Fate/stay night because, you know, it's Fate, but that'll be my last VN ever.
Take care guys. I'll still remember you for a long time to come.

Sayaka reacted to NowItsAngeTime in The Broadcast Club: VN Podcast Episode 13 - Untranslated Visual Novels/Learning Japanese
Hey, folks!
This episode we talked a bit about our journeys into reading visual novels in Japanese with a guest who is no stranger to the medium, /u/Cornetto_man. Reading in Japanese is a pretty daunting task when starting from square one, and there's a lot of information about getting started out there. So of course, we decided to put our own thoughts to words on it. It's definitely not for everyone, and can feel like an uphill battle at times, but for fans of the medium, it can be incredibly freeing to open up the entire history of the medium, and also be able to stand waiting for the newest releases without needing to wait for a localization company to pick it up and eventually release a translation. If you're on the fence about getting started, maybe listening to us chat about it can help you make up your mind!
As always, feel free to comment on the cast below.
There’s also a list of Japanese resources at the bottom of this post:

Sayaka reacted to LemiusK in "Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica Gaiden" Hype Thread
And it's finally announced! The long-awaited sequel - or rather spin-off - to the popular mahou shoujo series, Madoka Magica!
Synopsis
The stage is a new city, Kamihama City.
"Do you want to battle together with me?"
New story begins when girls meet.
Magical girls gather in this city lead by mysterious power.
This place is where they can be the way they are.
They fight with the new power from the witch.
"What happens… in this city…"
Iroha Tamaki came to this city to search for her sister Ui, who went missing.
Iroha begins to search whereabouts of Ui with the help of magical girls.
Soon Homura Akemi from Mitakihara City arrived to Yokohama City.
"There might be a way to save Madoka when knowing the mystery of this street."
Another hope born with two girls from the two different cities meet.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, it's not exactly the sequel to Rebellion that I've been waiting for, but eh, I'll take what I can get. Being a huuuuuge fan of Madoka Magica, I just simply can't ignore this.
From the looks of things, it looks like it's going to be featuring new characters with the older characters making guest appearances. From what I have heard, these characters will play a pivotal role in the grand finale of the Madoka story, as foreseen in the Madoka Magica Concept Trailer. So yeah, exciting stuff.
Regarding the OP theme, you gotta love how it's different from the original Madoka Magica, in that the latter tried to hide the more ominous tones of the story ("It's a healing anime." - Urobutcher), but with this OP, you could notice that they basically tell you, "You know what's going to happen to these cute and fluffy girls" with a sardonic and wry grin. Flashes of ominous scenes hearkening back to some of the bloodier scenes of the original anime could be seen scattered throughout the OP itself. Yikes.
Anyway, looking forward to all that fun and slaughter. Hah.
Sayaka reacted to Thyndd in Fuwanovel Confessions
So I don't know if this is a confession proper or more of a shower thought. I guess it has a little of both.
So do you remember that anime style music video by Porter Robinson, Shelter? That was around 2 years ago, and it was the first time I had a realization. A realization of which I was reminded a second time by the anime of the Bunny Girl senpai that is currently airing.
That clip made me think about how being literally alone in the world must be. You see... I one of those people that is always confident to say that enjoys solitude. While I'm not exactly antisocial, I'm also not an extrovert. Well, at least until you get to know me a little better. I only have a couple of close friends, and yeah, they know that I'm actually a memer at heart, on top of a little bit crazy Anyway, I'm most definitely a person who wouldn't even mind if I was casted away in a deserted island as long as I had enough resources to get by. And that's why this hit me so hard. If you are literally alone in the world, nothing you do makes sense anymore. In an empty world where no one could ever acknowledge you, life is meaningless.
I like to say that I'm independent, that I don't give a fuck about what other people might think of me and I don't seek anyone's approval. Yeah, that sounds cool and all... And honestly it's not that it's completely false... It's just that taken to the extreme, albeit an nearly impossible one, it doesn't hold true anymore. Even if you are an independent person, you are only fine with it because you are still part of the world. There's always hope that someone will accept you as you are, without having to go out of your way to be someone you don't want to be. Being literary all by yourself though...
In the end I guess we are social animals, and there's no changing that. On the other hand, that also means that just having one important person by your side can make the world for you, which you know, it's quite the romantic thought forgive my cheesiness.
But I'm gonna go with your username indicating that you, yourself, are a loli.
Sayaka reacted to Thyndd in Fuwanovel Confessions
If you can afford it and it makes you happy, then I'd go for it. Feelings > logic for all human beings, and you only live once And if you are gonna regret whatever choice you make, if you go for the thing that holds sentimental value for you then you'd have at least that.
So some days ago I placed an order on Amazon for some items I wanted to buy. The international shipping was fast and that same day at night, according to their page, my package was already ready to be delivered and was expected to arrive to my place the next day. Yeah it didn't, and it must be the local shipping company's fault. It's been 3 days since the expected arrival date, so I phoned them to ask what was going on. That was more than two hours ago, at 7 pm. According to them, "there was no reported incident and I should receive my package before 8 pm, hour when their delivery service ends for the day". 9:30 pm right now. Yeah go figure, it didn't.
*sigh* It really pisses me off this kind of inconvenience for a paid service. And I'm not an unreasonable person, if they contacted me and told me that they had some kind of problem, OK, I could understand that. But nope, not a call, not even an e-mail. Fan-freaking-tastic. 10/10 would use again.
EDIT: Ok, so after the phone call and an e-mail they updated the info on their tracking page. Do you see anything off?
Let me translate for you: Your shipment couldn't be delivered due to a logistic incident in our delivery. We've already handled your shipment and you'll receive it on the expected date.
Expected date: November 6th, 2018
Welp, now we only need a phone microwave. Let's hope it doesn't turn into jelly.
Today my Fuwa account turns exactly 1 year old, and, in catgirl years, that means I'm already legal and ripe for the taking for anyone interested
It's been a fun time, though it seems like it was yesterday when I sign in. Time sure flies by huh I still clearly remember when I wrote my introduction post.
Anyway, I'm glad I entered Fuwa. I've had the chance to discuss the adventures in VN land with great, super friendly people and that made it all the more enjoyable.
So, for the year to come, thank you for everything and yoroshiku onegai shimasu ne.
Sayaka got a reaction from adamstan in What is your favorite Season in VNs?
They all each have their own charms and I find it very difficult to pick one. The freshness and delicate feeling Spring can bring, the carefree heat of Summer, the slight melancholy and colours of Autumn and the chilly soft snows of Winter.
I've seen different seasons portrayed very nicely in VNs: Flowers -Le Volume sur Printemps- for Spring (if only all four volumes were translated given that each volume corresponds to a season!), AIR for Summer and Cartagra for Winter. Oddly enough, I have most trouble thinking of a VN I associate with Autumn. I wonder if Autumn is portrayed more subtly? It's easy to spot Winter for snow, Summer for heat/holidays/crickets and Spring for... sakura?
I might have to add to the Summer hate slightly, it's my irl least favourite season and I reckon it's the least interesting thematically. Excluding AIR!
I'll pick Winter, mainly because it's really lovely to see the effect of snow falling in a VN.
