H-Scenes. Really necessary?

I'm not on the Mare route yet, but is there any way to tell if my patch is the dolphin one or not before I get there?  When you have to download a new version, do save games transfer?

If you are using version 1.2 you will be fine (fuwanovel release)

I agree! That's why I like eroge - they have that combo of story and sex that is hard to find anywhere else.

nukige VNs hav a poor/no story, but i rather read a nukige then a story without sexual content or low sexual content

eroge is great aslong it has high sexual content, but does that make it a nukige?

There are no better H than FSN's H.

Even if I'm not a big fan of the H scenes (some VN's are better without H and others really deserve it...), but It's more than that combo, you have eroges for almost all tastes (even the ones that you don't like) and that's kinda hard to find in a non +18 VN... At least the ones that I've played were short, slow paced or simply too vanilla.

I'm not saying that VN's like Clannad (with no H and "love-focused") are bad, but they leave you with a feeling like "I expected a story like that".

As mutch as there are ppl who like them there are ppl who can't stand them so there being people who like them isn't reason enough.

What are you talking about?

The most simple way to explain why they are neccesary:

H-scenes are neccesary because I would not read/play them if there weren't.

Look up the word neccesity to eliminate further doubt's.

I'm speaking facts here not opinions.

I think it's all about wether we can fap to it or not. If we can't we will think it's silly. If we can we won't complain about it. But that becomes very personal and subjective that's why I think an option to turn off h-scenes in every novel would likely spread the medium a lot better since everyone can chose wether to read it for the porn or not.

ppl look at things way to narrowminded; dont look from your perspective only and the way you were teached life, try to look from every possible perspective and analize it calmly before you try to make your point cuz i do see many thoughtless comments here

Alright, I've been thinking about this for a while now.

In my opinion, they're not necessary. I don't need to have sex with a girl to feel anything towards her. (There are people like that, though, and I'm not telling you you're wrong.) Lonely Yuri, for example. My favorite VN of all time. All-ages. I felt like I knew Seri and Fusa better than Nagisa and Tomoyo. (Tomoyo After is another problem I have, but... At least KEY gave us an all-ages version.)

Or, think of it this way. (I'm quoting a friend here, and if he reads this, I hope you don't mind.) "H-Scenes are like watching a good friend have sex." That'd be uncomfortable, no? I get that most people imagine themselves as the MC and all, but some don't. Hell, who would (I'm sorry for this, Tom. I'm not saying I dislike you or anything, but...) want to play a game that involves raping people, with either of those situations in mind? (Again, no offense to anyone who likes them.)

If you want to keep H-scenes in games, just play nukiges. Keep them out of my story VNs. At least give me an option to disable them.

I could go on and on, really. But I'll leave it at this.

If you don't want to look at h-scenes reading an Eroge is a bad idea. I am just saying.

You don't know much about VNs do you?

The problem is that there are a lot of eroges with a great story where most of the time you couldn't even tell that it is eroge until you get H-scene (If you don't know that it is eroge by reading its description beforehand) which is usually pretty late in the story, in some VNs you can have 50 hours of reading before you get first H-scene. My point is that if you don't want to watch H-scene doesn't mean you shouldn't read eroges because they have to offer alot more than sex and if they don't then they are not eroges but nukiges.

True, it doesn't seem you know the difference between eroges and nukiges so let me explein you.

Eroges are story driven games that have few H-scenes in them and story is it's mein focus H-scenes are just small part of them.

Nukiges are games with mein focus on sex and they usually don't have any story or have very bad one, and even when in some rare cases, they do have decent story H-scenes are still their mein focus and story is shorter or/and less inportant than H-scenes.

I know plenty about them. I am just saying if you don't like the H-Scenes there are PLENTY of vns that are all ages, and if you don't read an description of what you are reading before hand isn't that the persons fault for not checking it out before they go and read it. When i am going to read something I look into it to see what I am getting myself into.

No you clearly don't know that much about them or you wouldn't be saying that. First of all there are very little all-ages VNs and when I said that you couldn't tell that it's eroge if you don't read the description my point was that bisade few H-scenes there is no real difference between eroges and all-ages VNs.

Yes I realize this. Point is. IF. YOU. DONT. WANT. HSCENES. DONT. READ. AN. EROGE. or press ctrl and skip them. most offer a skip option.

Not everything is so black and white. Someone might not want to H-scenes, but be willing to tolerate them to read a good story. Despite that, they would enjoy the VN more if it didn't have H-scenes.

If you can skip them (which in at least 70 percent of them you can by holding down the ctrl key) I fail to see the problem.

See, you don't know much about VNs, if H-scenes are 70 percent of them, then they are not eroges at all they are nukiges.
