  1. No, you just name your pick and tell us your result. Other people can then proclaim their support or disappointment with your choice. Not a very interactive game, but I didn't want to post my brainfarts in the VN discussion.
  2. This is basically just a shower thought I came up with some time ago in the Skype-group, after reading a manga short with that exact premise. But it leads to some interesting decision making. The deal is very easy; Through some unrealistic and reality-bending means, you are able to summon a heroine from any VN you've read into the real world. The catch? The summoned girl is the heroine you liked the least out of the chosen title. (For the sake of wish-fulfillment, she can be in love with you) Fun to ponder about, because you optimally choose a VN in which your least favorite choice isn't too far away from your favorite choice. On a slightly deeper level, I like this scenario, because it forces you to remember VNs you've read by how many of the characters were evenly balanced in terms of quality and taste, rather than which title simply had your favorite character. So, which Visual Novel do you choose and who do you end up with? Feel free to post your result, list some pros/cons and exchange your support and/or disdain with the choices of others. Annotations: 1. The terms "girl" and "heroine" are interchangeable here. Otome readers can obviously nominated their least favorite boy and what have you. 2. Choosing a VN with only two, one or even less characters to choose from is not allowed. However, this thread isn't limited to romance.
  3. Tomoya from Clannad, because he's basically just me. I generally like most male characters in Overdrive games (excluding Edelweiss, because it's the male version of Ikikoi). Lastly, the protagonist from Ayakashibito is easily one of the most believable characters I've ever come across. After finishing the VN, I felt like I had known him for years and wouldn't be surprised if he suddenly appeared on my doorstep.
  4. Pretty anime girls are a dime a dozen, so many don't see a reason to get overly attached to a select few of them. Especially long time readers.
  5. I always hated the "pick a map location based on a muffled voiceline"-thing that Da Capo 1 tried to do. Sometimes, the voiceline isn't even a sentence made up of words and is just a quiet breath or moan, making it very hard to pinpoint whose it is. And that's coming from someone who looks up voices after every single VN read. DC 1 and 2 also both have this stupid "pick a time to stand up based on your gut"-thing, which is really dumb. For example, to get scenes with Anzu in DC 2, you have to wake up normally, except for one time when you have to be late and another time when you need to wake up super early. There is no indicator whatsoever what character is going to be where at what time. The overall amount of choices in Canvas 2 could be reduced by a lot. Irrelevant ones like having 4 out the 9 "where to get lunch?"-options lead to no interaction with anyone at all and the copypasted set of activities that shows up every ingame day cut be easily cut, as they serve absolutely no purpose. Maybe those aren't difficult to figure out (you can just save and see who's showing up after all), but they sure are difficult to navigate with a happy mood.
  6. I can't believe the one day I decide to play outside with my friends, is the very day Flutterz steals the perfect KiraKira shitpost-window I had been waiting for so long... For what it's worth, there's a lot of alcohol in KiraKira and Deardrops. And those mushrooms the protag had growing in his shabby room, but we don't talk about those.
  7. Confession: I'm currently struggling super hard with Pokemon spoilers. I unsubscribed from every possible pokemon related thing that I used to be attached to (which was a lot, believe me), because I currently don't have enough cash to buy the game. But pokemon refuses to leave my fucking life. Getting through Game of Thrones spoiler-less was a walk in the park compared to this.
  8. Hara Kano!! ~ Ano Ko To Lovelove Harabote Seikatsu~ made significant progress. The entire nukige is now translated, except for the loli-sister (Hiyo) H-scenes. The translator said he won't touch them out of personal reasons, but another translator is currently on the case. No ETA as to when the 100% will be reached. (source)
  9. I've been watching a lot of TV shows about tattoo cover-ups recently. In those shows, a bunch of people go to the tattoo artists, show them their ugly pieces and get something cool stitched over it.

In mind though, I am always thinking why these people always decide so fast to go with the first sketch provided by the artist. I mean, shouldn't you sleep over a decision like that?

But I guess if that's how they'd think, they wouldn't need a cover-up in the first place.

    1. Suzu Fanatic

      Suzu Fanatic

had a tattoo removed (reread: burnt off) last year - doubt I'll experience anything that painful ever again in my life. All because of a hasty decision :makina:

      def. something to think through.

  10. Both were written by the same authors (two of the three Noble Works writers worked on Dracu-Riot) and reading them in release order physically shows you how much these writers have improved over the years. Definitely interesting if you're an analysis-junkie like me.
  11. The most notable thing to come out of the Sombra patch wasn't Sombra herself, but all the balance changes. Reduced ultimate charge means that Mei and Reinhardt get a little worse, since they could ult every 2 minutes and Symmetra gets shoved down the drain even further. Also, Soldier 76 is so good now. Holy fuck, try him out if you haven't yet.
  12. I've come into contact with To Heart 2 without knowing anything about it's historic significance or premise before reading it and my thoughts are: ... It's okay? To Heart 2 can be kind of a drag and way too obvious at times, but it definitely holds up better than something like Kanon (which I could only recommend to people who are academically interested in VN/Key history) or Shuffle, which has been rendered completely obsolete by newer, better stuff.
  13. Which greatly annoys me. I would rather have broken spoilers.
  14. No japanese skills, too much time and ridiculous standards/requirements resulted in me having reread basically everything that I've marked as finished.
  15. Man, I have absolutely nothing to do on this forum atm. It's about time for some releases, but none are in sight.
  16. If you skipped the first date, you actually skipped the most well written character establishing scene in the entire VN.
  17. I was born without any sense of ambition or purpose. Which is ironic, because I'm actually super stubborn and always willing to fight for what I want.
  18. Germany: "Man, this refugee business must've been the worst idea of 2016" France: "No, no, no, it was definitely us going full right-wing." Britain: "I'm pretty sure Brexit is the winner. Nothing can beat Brexit." America: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLikP6BDH5w
  19. Pink hair has this weird attribute of not making me care for any character in the slightest. Don't know why, since the worst anime haircolor is definitely green.
  20. You are hired by FuwaReviews effective immediately.
  21. I warned you and everyone else years ago.
  22. It's been a few weeks since the request, but maybe someone else stumbles over this on google or OP comes back to get more. Nobody mentioned Princess Evangile. Similar ballpark as Noble Works; better plot, but worse in tempo, tech and humor. Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort is short (hey that rhymes) but fun. It's especially great at dissolving Autumn/Winter fatigue just with it's setting.
