phantomJS got a reaction from Corrupted in Robo Waifus?
Main focus is on Yamato and the new heroines, unlike S where you got no idea what's happening if you did not read the original. The focus on the original cast in the A series is far weaker than in S.
This, imo, makes it a series which can be enjoyed as standalone games (although, again, reading the original VNs is still preferable imo)

phantomJS got a reaction from Corrupted in Robo Waifus?
The after stories for tsubame, monishiro, and margaret are after stories for their routes in the A series VN, not for the original 2 titles . Stupid mistake which I made. Thanks to Akshay for pointing out (and I dare consider myself a big Majikoi fan somemore ....)
Anyway if you think reading the original / S is absolutely necessary, let's just agree to disagree. I said that reading the original titles are preferable but not absolutely compulsory as imo the A series are sidestories and not direct FD / sequels
I feel like we are derailing the thread. If you want to continue this, let's do so in a new thread shall we?
Sorry for any inconvenience caused@Corrupted

phantomJS got a reaction from Corrupted in Looking For Caretaker Vibe
Just tried it again for you on my desktop. Did not encounter this problem.
I think it might be your hardware. If it's too old (perhaps you are using a old laptop?) or something, then there's nothing much we can do. Only couple of things I can think of is try updating your GPU's driver or reading it on windowed mode.
Quick system specs of my desktop for your references
Dell P2214H Monitor
Intel 6700k CPU
Palit 1070ti Dual GPU
16G DDR4 ram
Windows 10 build 1803

phantomJS reacted to Maike@CircleCos in Hallo~
Hi, I'm Maike, representing a game dev circle. I've been lurking here since 8 years ago, mostly for walkthroughs and the occasional download. Speaking of game dev, we're working on three different projects right now, mostly the slice of life kind, but we are working on a really angsty yuri project (with Korean characters because the writer is a Koreaboo) .
I'll be posting updates regarding our games here soon, hoping to get some much needed feedback from this community when the time comes.
Until then, back to usual.

@Corrupted
All 3 Da Capo main games doesn't have too much in common except for Sakura. Unlike, say, the rance series, playing the previous entries isn't a prerequisite and you can start with whatever entries you like (main series only).
However, I would strongly suggest (like chaosraven) that you skip the original Da Capo (unless you can read non-english VNs, then you may choose to read D.C.P.C which is superior to the only title, if only in one major way) as it's an extremely dated and relatively expensive VN.
The Mangagmer version sells for $30 USD. For this, you get an 9 years old VN which (obviously) has a dated engine. The story also tends to to be pretty jarring, sometimes cutting from 1 scene to the next with adequate explanation. The H-scenes are some of the worst I have ever seen in a VN. They are very brief and isn't incorporated into the story very well at all, and is next to pointless to the story in the routes.
The main thing is the route selections. There are a total of 23 (this from memory. Not to sure whether or not it's 100% accurate. Anyway should be close enough lol) scenes to choose from in order to go into a character's route and there are absolutely no indication which path leads into which route (This is not an issue in D.C.P.C however). I had to make a manual route MS word entry myself in order to go into a route. It's the first time I had ever done that and it's tedious AF (don't ask me why I didn't consult a guide on the net. I would like to know myself )
You can get a lot of other better VNs for a small topup to Da Capo's asking price. I suggest you avoid it

phantomJS reacted to mitchhamilton in Nekopara vol 2 and 3 physical edition are now being sold at Denpasoft
"Heres something we've already released, but different!" thats how theyre treating denpa. instead of releasing physical copies at the same time as their titles, theyre releasing them later so people whove already bought might be compelled to buy them again when they didnt have the option.
its your money so of course i cant stop you but really, sp doesnt care. theyre getting their money, theyll make half ass promises and a small majority is getting screwed by them while they move onto the next project to kickstart and sell. i just cant see them as anything but a dishonest company that takes advantage of their customers.

phantomJS reacted to Dreamysyu in It's Official, Almost 1 Year After it's Release Subarashiki Hibi One of the Best VN Ever Made Didn't Sell
To be clear, I don't think the first chapter is bad. It serves as a nice introduction to the themes of the story, and the atmosphere is great. On the other hand, the slice-of-life parts aren't written particularly well, and if the other parts don't appeal to you, it might be a challenging task to finish it. And considering that this chapter doesn't even matter much before the very end of the story, in some cases it actually might be a good idea to simply skip it.
To be honest, the whole "kamige" term is so pretentious that it shouldn't be used at all.
I personally quite like Subahibi. If I decide to make a list of all VNs I ever played, this one will definitely be in my top 5. At the same time, I can't say I consider it an "enlightening experience" like some other people. It was simply an enjoyable read, and though there are some moments that I didn't like at all (like, some h-scenes were really, really pointlessly fetishistic), I'm still willing to forgive it for them.

phantomJS reacted to AikasaColle in Hello there!
Hello! My name is Roxie and I've been wanting to meet other VN community members Admittedly I'm more of a lurker, and my current schedule in juggling everything might not change all too much, but I still wanted to introduce myself at the very least. I generally play EVNs and some JVNs when I'm not too busy. I'm currently working on my own yuri visual novel, after spending lots of times helping my friends on their VNs. My biggest experience working on a VN title is when I helped Razz as the co-writer of Starlight Vega. I've written on each girl's route, with Scherza as my primary one. Nice to meet you all!

Dat Boi Translations Presents
https://vndb.org/v12600
Description
Houkago Shippo Days is a 2 hour long all-ages Fan Disc for Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai, though the story is completely independent of it's parent story.
The story follows the protagonist Kei Kirishima and his childhood friend Nozomi Toki who are part of the Cat Photography Club
where they take pictures of the cats who have set up a nest close to the school. The two of them, along with Sakuya Fujimiya grew up together on
the countryside before they moved to the city to study, but since Sakuya was too young and her mother had forbidden her from leaving, she had to stay behind.
One day Kei's doorbell rings... It's Sakuya and she has ran away from home.

phantomJS got a reaction from eru777 in Looking for some non-depressing VNs
1) Assuming your definition of far too depressing is clannad, then you are wrong. Not all Key's stuff are like that VN. Rewrite is one of the most unique VNs I had ever read as it combines several genres together successfully (imo) into a single VN (but also features one of the most convoluted stories I had ever read). Summer Pockets also seems quite far away from Clannad. Ofc both have have pretty serious theme for it's story, but I think they are far from depressing.
2) Shogun-sama wa Otoshigoro
Reading an incomplete leaked CN patch of it now. I think it's a cliche-filled, but interesting VN; catchy music, a interesting (ancient JPN) story setting (I don't think there are a lot of VNs set in the historical JPN era), likeable characters, humorous written story which can maintain my interest, among others. Give it a try

phantomJS reacted to eru777 in Heya
Hello everyone.
I'm eru from Greece. I came here from google, figuring out visual novel stuff. I've played tears to tiara II, danganronpa and Persona 3. Thinking of expanding my library. I'll make a more detailed post for suggestions on the main forum.
I am a big fan of Japanese music and Final Fantasy. I listen to all sorts of genres from anime osts to alternative rock (for example Public Image Limited). Used to be a big movie fan too (Asian mostly), but haven't seen any good movies lately.
My favorite anime are Spirited away, paprika and death note. Paniponi dash was really good because I like random stuff like that lol.
Japanese artists that I really love: Soutaiseiriron, Takahito Eguchi, Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill composer).

phantomJS reacted to Czero in Hey, Czero here!
Hiya everyone, I know I've found a great place. A little bit about myself, I'm a huge visual novel fan who also loves to write. I hope to meet a lot of great people here!
I'm a creative person who just loves to go about through ideas, but choosing something to write is like picking between your children. Still, it doesn't stop me from binge writing when I find that I'm not doing something. Can't stand doing nothing, as there is always something more than can be done.

phantomJS reacted to Tay in Survey: Community Improvements You Want
Hi everybody,
It's been a while. I'll make a personal update post at some point, but for the moment I'm posting to ask our users to take the first of what may be a series of surveys we put out this Summer. This first survey is essentially an open invitation to tell me exactly what problems are bothering you about the site, anonymously. My site work this Summer will be heavily influenced by this survey, so if you care about Fuwa and want to see site improvements, please participate.

I want to thank @Emi for a recent email, @Clephas for some recent posts in the forums I've read which gave me encouragement, all our moderators, @Decay for his patience with my crazy schedule and a soft VNTS pause, and all of our users for keeping Fuwanovel alive. Much love to all of you.
