I remember that thread on r/vns. Really shitty thing you had to go through, bunny, and I'm sorry you lost your pillar of support in the process. I've lost a best friend I loved and trusted before, and it hurt like hell, so I can empathize with that. Hope you're doing much better now.
I've always liked reading your posts here, by the way. They're really interesting, and there's a lot of effort put into research that I think we all appreciate.
Pretty much the same reason I don't really post there. I don't agree with the sub's dominant circlejerks, and I dislike just how hostile the place can get if you go against the grain. I just use it to check the news.

Well, it's lovely to meet you since I don't know you very well.
That was a cleverly spun (bun?) introduction.
I don't want to ass-ume anything about you, but it seems you've been around for a while and this is the tail-end of your hiatus. Welcome back, butty!

Seems like Fuwa is the forum where dreams can come true. lol Call me if you ever need an inbetweener.

I need to hang out in the intro threads more often. It is so warm and cozy in here.
@LunarianLight Maybe we'll start our own little animation studio together some day, and we'll laugh about how we met on Fuwa. <3

lol Thanks, MaggieROBOT. Nothing better than cats and Code Realize, that's for sure. I didn't know about the fandisc though, so that's welcome news!
Thanks, Dreamysyu. Pleasure to meet you!
Thanks, Ranzo. I appreciate the welcome from a fellow Princess Mononoke fan!
Thanks a lot, Weiterfechten. Nice to meet you.
Yep, that's what you can call me. I can't wait to get my grubby paws on more of them. Thanks for the welcome, Plk_Lesiak!
Thank you, arosia. Wow...we could be clones. lol I also wanted to be an animator way back when. Thanks a lot for the warm welcome.
Thanks, DarkZedge. Nice to meet you.

Welcome, sweetie.
Princess Mononoke is such a fun movie; it's one of my early loves. There was a time when I really wanted to be an animator, and I watched that movie so many time!
This is my favorite VN community by far and I can't wait to get to know you. Please don't be shy. <3

Welcome newest initiate, to Fuwa! This is one of the best communities I have been involved in and I hope you have a thrilling time. Princess Mononoke is the best!

A new otome enthusiast? Always a nice thing to see.
Welcome to Fuwa and have fun posting!

arosia got a reaction from Dreamysyu in Would you still continue reading VNs if, starting from today, all H-scenes were banned?
I would still check them out; but I'd be really sad.
As an artist, I always hate it when you're not allowed to do something.

I think it's a really sharp pic; nice background; stylish shirt. Great pic, thanks for sharing. <3

May as well jump on the bandwagon for my 1 year anniversary on here.

arosia reacted to MaggieROBOT in How big a difference does it make for you to have voice acting in a VN?
Couldn't agree more.
If VNDB let me, I would rate this 11/10 for the voice acting alone.

arosia reacted to Dreamysyu in Our New first Visual Novel
Well, next time when you promote your VN on other forums and social media, check how your post looks before leaving, it may save you a lot of trouble later. Sorry if I sounded a bit blunt in my earlier posts in this thread, but your original post was simply unreadable, and the fact that after posting you didn't notice how it looked and simply disappeared, obviously, didn't leave a good impression on me.
But, well, good luck with your project later and don't repeat the mistake you made here!

arosia reacted to Zalor in How big a difference does it make for you to have voice acting in a VN?
Back when Fuwanovel was really active back in 2013, 2014 and 2015; we had topics like this all the time. Like 5+ a day sometimes, lol. Honestly I miss those days of Fuwa. It really shows how much the forums have slowed down that we only get like 1 of these threads a day. But I'm glad that people are trying to keep the forums a live. Its kind of like keeping a fire alive. And damn, the fire of fuwa used to be raging!
But yeah, one of the problems I had when the forums was that active was that I spent a lot more time talking about VNs then actually reading them, lol.

arosia reacted to Thyndd in How big a difference does it make for you to have voice acting in a VN?
Lately I've seen quite a few topic of the sort in the forums, so I thought I might as well contribute some more to the trend
You see, I've read quite a few of both voiced and unvoiced VNs, and never really paid any heed to it because there was just no choice: either you have the voices or you don't, so following my personal policy I say whatever, if your problem has no solution there's no point in hitting your head against a wall.
And then there's this latter VN I played, G-Senjou no Maou, which actually has both versions, and I definitely chose the voiced one. So that left me thinking... and I realised that actually voice acting is really important for me and does indeed make a big difference for my immersion. I think it's particularly important in emotional scenes, and not having them would, at least for me, lessen the impact in a significant amount.
On the other hand I know there's some people that actually go out of their way to turn the voices off when playing as they find them distracting.
So what about you? How significant does it feel for you to have that piece of audiovisual content in comparison with good art or a good soundtrack?

arosia reacted to Plk_Lesiak in How big a difference does it make for you to have voice acting in a VN?
You guys think that these new topics every day are a good thing? I try to save some time for actually reading VNs over here. ;p
With one OELVN lately I've gone as far as muting the voice acting early on, because I've found it unbearably poor. My other nemesis is partial voice acting - if it's going to pop up in random moments in between mostly silent segments, I'll mute it without hesitation. I understand that indie devs often don't have the budget and still want to show off some VA work (and especially have voiced h-scenes, as some people can't work with silent porn), but it's just not something that works for me. It completely takes me out of the experience.
So, if voice acting isn't going to be done really well, I prefer having none. I can give voices to characters in my mind well enough and "silent" VNs are often more convenient to read. I don't think I ever hated VA in a Japanese one though and if it's really good it can be a bonus. Simply, coming from western VN experience as my first contact with the whole genre, it's not something I really care about.

A lot of developers don't really see the value of getting involved in a community. A lot of them don't do much in the way of marketing, even.
It takes a few games--if you last that long--before you realize that it's a privilege to be able to create and have people give you their attention.
People respond well to mutual respect and grace.
Poor thing really did mess up here. Not only did they get a lot of negative attention, but they also missed out on one of the great VN communities available to them.
