-soraa reacted to Dreamysyu in Grisaia no Kajitsu - Which route should I read next? (I just have time for one Route!)
I'm pretty sure it's only explained in the sequels. I personally only finished Kajitsu and several after stories in Meikyuu, and I am not sure what this scene means. If you want to get a somewhat general idea about Yuuji's past, read Makina's route.

Makina's route explains the most about Yuuji in Kajitsu. But it's really the 2nd game in the trilogy that explains a lot.

Well, I loved PE but I also didn't like Noble Works and Hatsukoi 1/1. Both VN's don't have a story and the character were imo not really good. I don't know why people say that Noble Works is similar to PE... It isn't! Noble Works is more a comedy VN with no story.
I would recommend you to read:
    - Chrono Clock  --> At first I thought that it won't be a good VN but I was wrong with this assumption. I liked Chrono Clock more than PE. There is a nice and heart-warming story with a great romance and it's the first time that the Incest-Route was the best for me. The incest route dosen't focus on the "incest" part actually but it's more about "family".
    - Grisaia no Kajitsu --> Be aware that the common route is very long! But it's one of the best VN out there in english with an awesome MC. 2 Route's focus on romance (Yumiko and Sacchi), the other have a really good story as far as I know. But if you really like romance then start with Yumiko's route. I loved her route very much and imo I have never read a better romance route. Furthermore I mostly skip the h-scenes because they aren't really romantic but in Yumiko's route it was my first time that I actually read all h-scenes in a route. They were actually very good and cute. Every route in Grisaia no Kajitsu focus on the plot and in Yumiko's route you also have a good romance.
Personally, I love storys were the MC does everything to protect his girl.
    - Dracu-Riot! --> It's from the same company as Noble Works but it's a lot better. The story is average but we have a Story till the end of each route. Furthermore it's funny and I liked the romance.
    - G-senjou no Maou --> Well, it isn't your average VN. The Plot is really interesting but the romance is a little bit too short.

Thank you guy's for your answers and I have decided to read Michiru's route. I liked her in the common route more than Sachi and seriously I am really interested in her route. I know it has something to do that she has lost her will to live or something like that.

Michiru's route I would say is not quite as sad as Sachi's (also I love Michiru for reasons, shout-out to all you other people). If I can try and outline this in specific terms, Michiru's is more generally depressive but Sachi's route has a distinct moment of concentrated sadness that kinda disperses throughout the rest of the route and provides some sad context. Here's hoping I've helped a bit.
Amane's route is kinda sad when you get to the chunk (you'll recognise it) but happy for most of the rest, especially the good ending, and Makina's route is......well let me say this, avoid the bad ending. As I've characterised it to friends, it feels like the bad ending was written first whilst the writer was depressed, and then wrote the happy ending after his co-workers realised what he'd written and sneaked some anti-depressants into their food or some such.

It's hard to say, to be honest, because, like I said, all of them have pretty depressive parts. For me personally, Michiru's route was the saddest, and Amane's... is more messed up type of depressive. On the other hand, Sachi's route is also pretty sad. Makina should be the least depressive if you avoid the bad ending.

-soraa reacted to Weiterfechten in Grisaia no Kajitsu - Which route should I read next? (I just have time for one Route!)
Hmm.. that makes both choices rather hard to advice. I would not say that they are depressive bad, but they are certainly neither merry nor jolly towards the end parts. I guess in comparison to Yumiko's route Sachi and Michiru's routes would be a step up on the sad scale, but both end rather happily so I guess if you are willing to overlook some emotional parts, either would be alright.

-soraa reacted to Weiterfechten in Grisaia no Kajitsu - Which route should I read next? (I just have time for one Route!)
Sachi all the way, best route in my opinion. To me it had both a good early-mid and end part, with the end being really emotional. I guess I liked her character as well which helped. It all kind of depends on which character you like though, if you so far during the game have not really liked Sachi's character and have found Michiru's more enjoyable then it might be best to read that route since both routes take quite a long time to read and you will spend quite a while with their specific personalities.

Michiru's route is great. It's my favorite route in the game. If you can only read one for now, I'd recommend that one for sure.

My original heroine power rankings before finishing the common route was Yumiko>Makina>Amane=Sachi>power gap>Michiru. However, Michiru's route impressed me enough to get rid of the power gap so she's just barely trailing behind Amane and Sachi now. I'm only partway through Yumiko's route now, and those two are the only routes I've read, so I don't know how they compare to the other three. I'd say Michiru's route is of pretty similar quality to Yumiko's so far though.

Read Amane's. I'd recommend Michiru's, but everyone besides me hates it.

I wouldn't recommend reading Makina's route right after Yumiko's for several reasons. I voted for Amane, but Michiru could also work.

EDIT: Due to Fuwa anti-piracy rules this thread's usefulness was quite limited, since we couldn't ask for any files that we needed for further compatibility testing and the like. I'd say even posting direct links to our patch here was questionable to begin with, since it's not that different from the abovementioned files that we were asking for.
So in the end we decided to remove all links from here and move our main release thread to Reddit: LINK
That's where all further updates will be posted, so make sure to follow us there. I'll ask mods to lock this thread, since MeruP won't be checking it anyway, so all feedback should be posted on Reddit instead (we also have a dedicated thread for reporting bugs and other issues).

I rate VNs based on 80% enjoyment and 20% critical. The thing is that critical problems tend to affect my enjoyment while reading, so I don't really know how to define that balance.

Less 'average guy' protagonists, regardless of age or setting.
Less meaningless (doesn't progress the story or develop the characters) slice of life.
    Less unreasonably violent tsundere.
Less osananajimi heroines (side-characters are fine, though)
Less making a great setting then not using it in any of the heroine paths.
    Less meaningless/random h-scenes.
    Less meaningless choices/false player agency.
Stop having school as the main setting for 90% of all VNs.
Less romance as the pinpoint focus of a VN (don't get rid of it, just stop making it 90% of the focus of most VNs)
No more ladder-style story structure (ex: G-senjou no Maou, Hatou, Eustia, etc)

Well, honestly I am not really interested in another Moege VN with no Drama at the moment! I will play it sometime if I want to read a heart-warming romance Story with comedy. But I need drama in romance story's...
But I hope the translation will be good because I am a little bit looking forward to read Sanoba Witch.

Like Asonn said, try switching genres. Maybe approaching smaller, more story-intensive VNs that won't wear you down like those huge, SoL-filled ones. Saya no Uta. Or House in Fata Morgana. Come back to moege when you had your decent break from them.
