This is good guys. They won't ruin any existing visual novel and will instead produce their own garbage. Visual Novels dodged a bullet today.

I think AI assisted translation will definitely be handy in certain scenarios, but I don't think it can replace professional translation work anytime soon. There is a lot that goes into translation, it's not just understanding what the sentence means from a grammatical/lexical standpoint, it's about how it's interpreted in the culture it comes from and being able to carry that across to a completely different culture. This is something AI is pretty far from achieving.
Essentially, we'll likely soon get to a level where we can translate day to day sentences with relative ease. This will be useful in a variety of situations, like when you visit a country and want to ask for help from a native, or when you want to read some particular headline in a foreign news site. But it will take much longer to get to a level where AI can interpret nuance and cultural differences, meaning literature in particular will still need a human touch to be translated, and even day to day conversation with its colloqualisms that evolve  literaly every second won't be perfectly translated (at least not with proper nuance).
What I can see happening at some point is translators using AI translation tools to help speed up their work, kind of like a symbiotic relationship, but I wouldn't worry about AI taking over the translation business anytime soon.

Nosebleed got a reaction from Polycentric in Question about Da Capo and how long is Hoshizora no Memoria common route?
Hoshimemo's common route is fairly long, maybe around the 10 hour mark depending on how fast you read, so it will definitely require some time to be sunk into it. Not to mention it has an enforced playing order. If you want the true route you need to do every other route.
Regarding Da Capo. I've read it myself and, to be quite honest, there isn't really a great overarching plot in it (or at least I never got the impression that there was). They do start to build some lore (which is explored in later games) but it hardly ever matters in the first game outside of the sister's route. I would say to just go into it expecting your average highschool charage since that's honestly how most of the routes play out.
    PS: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Here's the thing though, Moenovel is a Pulltop subsidiary, so I'm assuming they're publishing their games, but if the assumption I made earlier is correct, then it has to be a game that came out after Cocoro@Function (which was released in 2013)
These are the games that came after that:
Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort (no BG like that in it) Kono Oozora ni, Tsubasa o Hirogete Snow Presents (Same thing as before) Kanojo to Ore to, Koisuru Resort (etc.) (Can't be this one since it's a fandisc of multiple other ones) Cocoro@Function! NEO (No BG like that in this one) Mirai Kanojo (Again no BG like that) Natsuiro Recipe (No BG like that yet again) Miagete Goran, Yozora no Hoshi o (And once more no BG like that) Miagete Goran, Yozora no Hoshi o (fandisc of the former so nope) Yakimochi Kanojo no Ichizu na Koi (Couldn't find the BGs for this but it's a nukige so super unlikely) This leads me to believe it might not be a Pulltop game this time around. Unless I did something wrong in my research or my earlier assumption is totally wrong and it is an earlier title, which if that's the case, then whoever drew the background is a psychic and figured out Wakaba Girl was  gonna have an anime in 2015.

Notice: I edited most of this walkthrough because of several errors and inconcistencies.
I completed the game 100% with the full translation and checked with a Japanese walkthrough to make sure I didn't miss any choice.

    Routes I added
If Route: Brother and Sister If route: Abominable Kirino If Route: Rock Endings I added
Manami True Ending 2nd Saori Ending 2nd Kuroneko Ending 2nd and 3rd Kirino Ending 2nd Manami ending
Lastly I edited most of the guides to reflect all the new branches, mainly in the Kuroneko and Kirino routes but all the others were also revised and checked to see if they were working properly (Kanako and Yuri routes weren't working properly at first)

    Hope you enjoy!

Nosebleed got a reaction from EastCoastDrifter in So, let's talk about the TPP and why it shouldn't go through
Was published on the Wall Street Journal http://www.wsj.com/articles/obama-administration-gives-up-on-pacific-trade-deal-1478895824
    Full text:
Obama Administration Gives Up on Pacific Trade Deal
Congressional GOP leaders indicated they wouldn’t consider Trans-Pacific Partnership in lame-duck session
The Obama administration on Friday gave up all hope of enacting its sweeping Pacific trade agreement, a pact designed to preserve U.S. economic influence in fast-growing Asia that was buried by a wave of antitrade political sentiment that culminated with Tuesday’s presidential election.
Just days after Donald Trump surprise victory, U.S. officials said Republican congressional leaders had made clear that they wouldn’t consider the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership in the remainder of Mr. Obama’s term. The White House had lobbied hard for months in the hope of moving forward on the pact if the Democratic nominee,Hillary Clinton, had won.
The failure to pass what is by far the biggest trade agreement in more than a decade is a bitter defeat for Mr. Obama, whose belated but fervent support for freer trade divided his party and complicated the campaign of Mrs. Clinton.
The TPP’s collapse also dents American prestige in the region at a time when China is flexing its economic and military muscle.
Just over a year ago Republicans were willing to vote overwhelmingly in support of Mr. Obama’s trade policy. But as the political season approached and voters registered their concerns by supporting Mr. Trump, the GOP reacted coolly to the deal Mr. Obama’s team reached with Japan and 10 others countries just over a year ago in Atlanta. Winning a majority of votes for the TPP in the House and Senate would have required both a last-minute deal to address Republican priorities and an election result that didn’t show such broad discontent.
Neither occurred. Since the election, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) have both said no to bringing the TPP to a vote in the lame duck session, despite many senators’ strong support for freer trade.
In the House, Rep. Kevin Brady (R., Texas), the chairman of the House committee that oversees trade, said in a statement Wednesday that “this important agreement is not ready to be considered during the lame duck and will remain on hold until President Trump decides the path forward.”
Matthew McAlvanah, a spokesman for U.S. trade representative Mike Froman, said Friday that despite all the work the administration has done with lawmakers on Capitol Hill “ultimately it is a legislative process, and the final step is for Congress to take.”
White House officials preparing for Mr. Obama’s trip to meet Pacific leaders in Peru acknowledged the defeat on Friday. “In terms of the TPP agreement itself, Leader McConnell has spoken to that, and it’s something that he’s going to work with the president-elect to figure out where they go in terms of trade agreements in the future,” said Wally Adeyemo, deputy national security adviser for international economic affairs.
Chinese officials preparing for the summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit next week said they had heard the rumblings of protectionism and vowed to push alternative, lower-standard Pacific trade deals that aren’t likely to include the U.S.
President Xi Jinping will seek support for a broad free-trade area in the Asia-Pacific during the APEC summit, a senior Chinese official said.
U.S. officials have long warned that failure to pass the TPP, which doesn’t include China, would help Beijing take the lead with another framework, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, which could be concluded in coming months and would lower or eliminate tariffs among some Pacific countries but not the U.S.
Neither proposed trade framework would have the TPP’s safeguards for intellectual property, the environment, labor or other U.S. priorities, administration officials say. A tariffs-only trade agreement led by China wouldn’t have the same strategic or economic impact as the TPP.
Recently China has started taking advantage of U.S. hesitation abroad to push its own international financial programs and economic alliances, marking a new phase in the U.S.-led order that has helped provide prosperity and security in the Pacific for decades.
This week’s election is also affecting European ties. The top trade official in Brussels said Friday that Mr. Trump’s election will further delay a big trade deal the Obama administration has been negotiating with the European Union—the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, or TTIP.
Many American politicians see U.S. trade agreements as complicated and politically fraught deals that can provide a bit of extra economic growth and shore up strategic alliances.
But foreign officials see Washington’s willingness to enter into such deals as a crucial barometer on whether the world’s biggest economy and military power is looking outward toward international engagement and problem-solving or inward toward domestic problems.
The 2016 election season has shown that domestic concerns about globalization, the trade deficit and stagnant wages easily beat out the appetite for international engagement.
The TPP became a symbol Washington pursuing policies that disproportionately favor wealthier Americans over ordinary workers. Mr. Trump blamed the TPP on special interests trying to “rape” the country.
Some lawmakers and officials say the TPP or a similar deal could reappear in the Pacific in the future, perhaps with different countries in the region or even a single partner.

    Forum Rules

While Fuwanovel is all for discussion and having fun, we still wish to have a regulated atmosphere that's not harmful to our users, these rules are meant to keep said atmosphere on stable levels. Please read each point carefully.
Fuwanovel's number 1 rule is Respect and Civility.
Don't personally insult anybody. Don't be a troll or promote misconduct. Don't bait or harass any user or staff member. We take these offenses very seriously and we hope our users respect this rule above all else.
    General Forum Guidelines
These guidelines are meant to be followed when posting on our forums.
Don't embed explicit hentai images or videos on posts/threads, use Spoiler tags/URL form instead and tag it as NSFW. Don't advocate for any real-life crime. This is taken very seriously and will likely result in a permanent ban. Don't post any real life pornography of any kind. Don't provide or request illegal sources for copyrighted material, use legal sources instead. Don't spam the Recent Topics box. Don't post content you know might offensive to someone or a group of people. Don't post staff PMs in public, if you have any issue with how the staff carried something out, talk it out in private with a moderator instead. Don't bring personal issues in public, if you and other user(s) don't get along, please don't bring your strife to the forum. Don't promote or link to fan translations that either cost money or require you to make money for the patch creator to get. This includes things like patreon-only patch releases and using ad-infested link shorteners for downloads. Global Moderators and Board Moderators are responsible for carrying out the rules and it is up to them to interpret them and carry out an appropriate punishment for each situation.
    Lolicon/Shotacon Policy
Pedophilia is an extremely complicated and sensitive real-life issue, and presents a significant challenge to visual novel communities who want to promote thoughtful discussion but are faced with strict laws on one hand and deplorable internet rhetoric/insensitivity on the other. Many of you are aware of how far back and how divisive this issue has been. To protect the site from legal action and to resolve this issue once and for all, we have chosen to amend the site rules as follows. We're trying to strike a delicate balance here -- acknowledging this is part of the VN medium, and sensitive discussions of these topics are important.
The new policy: Fuwanovel is not the place to discuss the nuances of pedophilia – in real life or in entertainment. Because they are a part of the traditional VN heritage of Japanese games, we acknowledge that mature, focused discussions of “loli” characters and routes within a visual novel are valid, and we will allow them within the Visual Novel discussion boards, but beyond those confines, Fuwanovel is just not the place for this topic. We have also clarified our rules for posted or linked images of "lolis" on the boards, which can be read below:
    Brass Tacks:
If you want to discuss a “loli” character or route in a visual novel, you can do so in the VN boards with the caveat that crude, inflammatory, provocative or aggressive posts will be grounds for a topic’s deletion, without warning Outside the realm of Visual Novels, Fuwanovel is simply not the place to discuss this complicated issue, and we ask you to avoid casual references to-, or discussions about-, pedophilia and the sexuality/sensuality of underage people or characters. This includes avoiding discussion or mention of porn- or sex-simulation games featuring underage or underage-appearing characters to the forums.  Rules for images, avatars, and signatures: Do not post sexual pictures of underage characters. If an image is focused on, accentuates, or exaggerates a character's nipples, vulva, or penis or positions them sensually (body position, wet panties, nearly naked, etc.), you should not post it and it will be taken down. No erotic form Toddlercon is not allowed. Post will be taken down and you will either get warning or ban. Attitudes of the staff vary significantly on this issue, but this policy is presented – purposefully – without moral commentary. This is a tricky issue which presents real risks for the stability of the site, and ensuring the community’s longevity simply has to come first.
Thread rules These rules are meant to keep threads as clean and free of trouble as possible.
Please try to keep responses on-topic and meaningful. Don't derail threads. Don't spam threads. Don't double post repeatedly. Don't post for the sake of posting. Don't necrobump threads without the intent of continuing the discussion. Don't post seizure inducing GIFs without a spoiler and a warning labeling it as such. Any posts that are seen to fit in these categories or seen to be harmful to the thread risk being moved or deleted, or at worse getting the entire thread locked.
Additionally some boards have their own specific rules, please see related topics inside each one of Fuwanovel's boards (they are usually pinned at the top).
    Blog Rules
Blogs are meant to be personal and we try to respect everyone's rights to write about the things they like, however if a blog post is seen to break any content rules, staff holds the right to delete the entry as they see fit.
    Signature and Avatar Guidelines
No explicit nudity (genitalia and female nipples are in this category) No avatars or signatures featuring sexualized loli/shota characters No pornography (this includes implied sexual acts and bodily fluids) No gore (disembowelment, dismemberment, torture, etc.) No offensive content (profanity, hate speech, offensive symbolism, etc.) No seizure inducing GIFs (or GIFs that make people's eyes bleed in general) No signatures exceeding 400 Kbs in filesize Reporting Content
Whenever you come across content on the forums which breaks one of these rules, please report it using the report button underneath said post and explain why it's breaking the rules.
Any member, no matter how new, has the right to report posts.
You will not be punished for reporting any post, even if your report is deemed unjustified*
*While reporting a post is fine, spamming reports in order to troll/abuse the report system is not and can lead to you to getting a warning.
    In case of doubt:
If you have any doubts about how to proceed in any situation or if said situation is not listed here, please contact one of the online Global Moderators via Personal Message with your inquiry. Global Moderators have a blue usercolor at the bottom of the forum for easier identification.
In case none of them are online during that time, the list of Global Moderators as well as the rest of the Fuwanovel Staff can be found here so you can message one of them.
    Rule Enforcement
We trust Fuwanovel users to keep their composure when the situation calls for it. In any case of a serious infraction a Global Moderator is responsible for carrying out an appropriate punishment that can handle the situation effectively for both sides.
Smaller punishments like revoking the ability to post content for a period of time can be given out if the situation calls for it (namely for spamming and trolling), without granting a warning point if a Global Moderator sees fit to do so.
Warning Points are only given out to reoccurring or serious offenders that do not heed either rules or previous warnings. A Global Moderator is in charge of deciding whether or not a user deserves a warning point.
Global Moderators are free to give harsher punishments like suspensions if they clearly notice the violation is severe or has ill intent behind it.
There is a 3 Warning Point cap and when a user receives a 3rd warning point, they acknowledge they are putting their account in jeopardy and risk being banned permanently.
Do not evade bans, if you create a second account to evade your ban, you risk getting it lengthened.
If you feel you were not justly banned, you can PM a Global Moderator with your reasoning and that Global Moderator will bring it up for discussion with the rest of the staff to see if it is valid or not.
In case a warning point was given out and a ban is proven to be unjustified, your warning point will automatically be revoked.
In case your ability to post content was revoked and it is proven to be unjustified, it will be rectified.
    Username Changes
To prevent user-confusion, the ability to change your username at whim has been removed from the user control panel. To change your username, please PM one of the global mods with your desired new user display name and your reason for making the change. Username changes require a strong reason and motivation to be changed, and will otherwise be denied to prevent confusion on the forums.
    User Title Changes
User titles (the titles you see below your avatar) can be changed at any time by making a contribution to the community.  Here are a few examples of ways to help out.  When you've completed your good deed, please report to a Global Moderator, who can make the change for you.
Assisting in coding projects and/or working on the front site; Helping with forums projects; Writing a walkthrough for a game; Writing an article for the Visual Novel Aer blog; Posting 500+ posts on the forums (posts in the "Coliseum of Chatter" do not add to this count); Or something else you can think of! Note: Users with 500+ posts have, in simply posting so regularly, helped to build the site.  Thank you for your contributions!  We hope you'll keep it up.  These users can change their user title at any time from the user CP.
    Definitions
These definitions serve as guidelines to define certain types of content. In case of doubt on whether or not something fits within one of these categories, a Global Moderator can make the judgement call.
    Spam
Content without any purpose, coherency or relevance whatsoever.
Singular spam posts are deleted without warning. If a user makes many spam posts in one thread or singular spam posts across many threads, then they are subject to a punishment.
Threads or blog posts made for self-promotion (such as links to off-site personal blogs) should be limited to one (either a blog post or a thread) per product being promoted, because such promotion is more easily perceived as spam.
    Derailing
Going completely off topic in a thread, this can result in the thread being locked or moved to a more appropriate section depending on whether or not it's salvageable.
    Harassment & Abuse
This involves aggressive pressure or intimidation and can based off of things like racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, etc.
This will never be tolerated anywhere on the forum, even in private messages, and severe punishment will be applied to any cases of it.
Posting for the sake of posting
Posting several times in a thread without trying to move the discussion forward and only to increase post count and/or to troll/spam.
Necrobumping threads without the intent of moving the discussion forward also falls into this category.
    NSFW
Content that is too sexually explicit or excessively violent that could offend certain age groups.
For something to be sexually explicit it must show either genitals, female nipples or sexual acts.
    Trolling
Starting arguments or upsetting users by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages with the intent of provoking users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

    Insults
An insult is a derogatory remark that labels an individual or group of users. Name-calling is not productive and typically derails the topic by turning the discussion to the credibility of the user(s). It never convinces the other party and often provokes a similar reaction from other posters. The resulting commotion is ineffective for the offender, offensive for the target, distracting for spectators and tiring for the staff.

This right here so much. It can not be overstated how this is the result of two sides not listening to each other. Hillary didn't get overwhelming support for a reason, and you can't simply brush it off as "oh it was all those racist and sexist white americans. Fuck them". It wasn't. It was so much more than just that. It was an entire group of people who are tired of the establishment and threw a brick at it. Trump is literally a rock that was thrown at every single mainstream entity who kept pushing  the "the other side is evil" narrative.  That is what he represents for a ton of people. And unless you address both sides seriously, without preemptively assuming they are Satan incarnate, situations like this will keep happening.
And it is my firm believe that no matter who had won, this election had already done the most damage to the American population of any other recent election. And things go much deeper than the two major political parties.
I'd like to share this one post I read on reddit from a trump supporter, which resonated with a lot of people, including non Trump supporters as well, and which I believe really showcases how many of his supporters felt. Whether you agree with it or not isn't what I ask of you, but what I do hope is that you read it and just consider it for a moment. Maybe the other side is worth listening to and taken seriously into account. Maybe they have real worries which the other side isn't addressing. Maybe their goal isn't to plunder America back into the dark ages. Maybe they are humans too. Only when you do that can you unite your people.  And this goes for both sides.

Maybe their goal isn't to plunder America back into the dark ages. Maybe they are humans too. Only when you do that can you unite your people.  And this goes for both sides.
