Yumemi from Planetarian is the queen of accessories. I'm on mobile right now, but I'll edit in some pictures later to prove my point. Especially for the game's length, her sprite has a ridiculous amount of variations, like her ribbon changing color according to her mode/mood, holding her post-apocalyptic bouquet, some random tools or even with a cable plugged in her earpiece

For me , i just ask myself this simple question  after reading a vn.
Was the story there to improve the h-scenes or was the h-scenes there to improve the story ? 
If the story was there to improve the h-scenes , then i consider it a nukige , since the vn is focusing more on the h-scenes  and uses the story to have those h-scenes happen for some reason , and if the h-scenes are there to improve the story , then the vn is focusing more on the story and only uses the h-scenes to developed the relationship between two characters.
ps: you can use h-scenes to improve the story in other ways than i said , i just give a example.

Well, hello there, and welcome everyone, my name is...of not importance, what's more important, is to present myself : i'm one of the members of the fuwachat mod, as well as not a tsundere, i was also member of the VN reading club (even if now it's dead) and, well, it's been a long time since i didn't open a serious thread, so, i'm introducing to you a new concept, called Le baguette debate(Yes yes, i know, don't worry...heck, Victor Hugo is gonna rape me if i don't correct myself, but i don't care!) Basically, even if the title may seem funny, it's a serious rendez-vous, and every week, we'll battle with all our might to have a better understanding of some concepts only found in visual novels, and what's a better place than an organized structure?
Every week, i'll throw a new thread, launching a new debate, it can be about everything as long as it is related to visual novels, you are free to share whatever opinion you think about the subject, we have 100% freedom of speech, and if really things start to derail, i have my banstrong cannons...oh wait i have no powers here?  . Well, i'm pretty sure our fine fuwagestapo will help me keep this thread as clean and civilized as possible.
If it's successful, i'll do Anime and Games edition, but for now, i'll concentrate on visual novels...Because we are a VN community, mostly.
so, now i can start with our first subject : Are Nukige able to have a great story? For many years now, many, many VNs came to the west, most of us are, indeed, filled with porn, but some of them are specialized in porn, we call them, nukige, they are VNs filled with all kind of kinks, with basically dozens of H-scenes, and generally serves only as fap material, BUT, we've also seen some...true, rare but existent Nukige who came out packed with a rather strong story, despise the ridiculous amount of porn it packs, and, well, the question is simple, it's not about H-scenes in VN, but do you believe that a Nukige can pack out a story as strong as a normal VN like steins;gate. And don't the fact these VNs, as nukige, hinders any try at creating a profound and interesting plot?

Milf and yandere. I don't mind if a character goes yan from time to time for comedic purpose, but a real yan? I will just nope the hell out of here.

But if you try to play the game on the PSP emulator, the game will crash at the climax scene. Which just ruins the mood and chaos happens and blah blah blah bleh bleh bleh.

Hello! I'm Rimi and I'd like to bring "Chaos;Head Love Chu Chu!" over to the English speaking community! I feel I'm on the way to at least being able to look for translators as all the needed tools have been found or created. Anyway if you weren't aware ChuChu is a game that branches off from it's main game "Chaos;Head" which is part of the SciADV series. Recently I just published a 2D character CG generator tool via itch.io (demo versions are available)
It's currently in early access state, with development status and plans available for public via Trello.
Mannequin is a template-based character CG generator; by making it I'm hoping to make development easier for both non-artists and artists alike.
For non-artists, you can generate a production-ready quality CGs just by mixing and matching templates, adjusting the colors, then instantly export the result to a PNG file.
For artists or someone with experience using vector drawing programs, you can export the result to SVG file (which can be opened using Illustrator, CorelDRAW or Inkscape) and make your own custom modifications.

The length doesn't really matter as long as it keeps me interest, so it needs to be either funny, have a backstory or connect the points along with the progress. I don't like the aimless common route that is just there to fill the game with random moe shit scenes.

Ehh, if it actually serves a purpose and isn't random shitty pandering, I'll usually like it
Exception is if the SoL is funny and high-quality, like in Kajitsu

When I first started reading VNs in Spring 2014, I was a devoted follower to the Cult of Moe. The "happy feels" were just too gud to pass up.

Then I reached the glory ages in late 2014, knocking out my current top 3: Rewrite, Steins;Gate, and Grisaia no Kajitsu. These three will forever be my holy trinity.
Played a variety of VNs by Summer 2015: Symphonic Rain, Yumina the Ethereal, Princess Evangile (hihi), Eden*...

Then something changed.
Went in a VN hiatus over the Summer 2015, got absolutely massacred by VN Club's My GF is a President, and couldn't read any full on charamoeges since then. Got lynched out of the Cult of Moe.
Descended into the Cult of Darkness, Fall/Winter 2015, Corpse Party series, Saya no Uta, Swan Song, Cartagra + Kara no Shoujo I & II, euphoria. Gud shit. Or should I say bad shit? Gud bad shit. Then tried to play stuff like Noble Works, KoiChoco, Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort, epic fail.
New year-> Spring 2016 went into mystery/survival, Danganronpa 1 & 2, 999, Zero Escape VLR, Root Double. And Tokyo Babel's apocalyptic supernatural. Also Shikkoku no Sharnoth; bombed Gahkthun though.
Also throw in a quick Lucy and an Otome (Code:Realize) and here we are, with me prepping up to destroy Dergonu in the fabled Koiken Otome Summer Race Bonanza of 2016.

Overall I'd say my main preferences now are
Mystery/Survival - They're just so thrilling to read, Danganronpa/Zero Escape series, Root Double was cool too. Also G-senjou. Sci-Fi / Fantasy - Great for epic stories; Rewrite, Steins;gate, ArNosurge, Code:Realize I can enjoy darker stuff like Kara no Shoujo & Swan Song, disliked 'crossing the line' stuff like euphoria though. Maggot Baits will probably rekt me. Hard.

Moege is a thing of the past, can only read short stuff like Nekopara now.

Chara(mo)ege depends. If there's no fantasy elements ie. Koi Natsu no Last Resort, chances are I can't read them anymore. Stuff like Dracu-Riot / Koiken Otome are where it's at for me now. Need something extra to make the mindless everyday slice of life and petty first world problems interesting, ya know.

Majikoi - I think it represents everything wrong with the World.

Maybe Imouto Paradise and Eiyuu Senki. While the former was still nukige to me, at least from Rio and Aya route it show some potential to be normal charage (It helped that the staff probably allocate main writer to those 2 routes imo), and for Eiyuu Senki while I just expected some kind of genderbent historical figure harem plotless game, the story ie plot was surprisingly quite interesting, especially in middle game and end game which managed to get my attention here.
PS - Just check VNDB, and find out that Eiyuu Senki writer was same people as Kichikuou Rance, TORI (No wonder Eiyuu Senki end game remind me of Kichikuou Rance. Oh, and she was also had most of Rance series as her resume, including famous Sengoku Rance).
PPS - Now that I remembered that I also had same case with Shuffle. In fact I was kind of expect it would be almost all sex when I played Shuffle (Couldn't be helped here, considering I just finished Shera My Witch back there). And I'd find Shuffle was quite funny and had less sex scene, so it's quite good to me. Also with Kira Kira, when let's just said the normal end wasn't that I was expected.

Euphoria.
I played it fuly expecting a fullblown hardcore nukige with barely a plot to tie it together.  Not to mention a low expectation.
 
ANd then I played till the end and I was like DAMN.
