Summary
 
Arkham city is a bustling hub of commerce and industry, however it's also a center of eldrich lore: home to Miskatonic University, an institution of higher learning with one of the most complete libraries of arcane literature in the world. In the span of two generations the town was built up to the status of prestige it now has, an expansion helmed by the Hadou Group, an industrial complex and family dynasty currently run by the young Hadou Ruri. She pursues the peace and prosperity of Arkham diligently, against the forces of darkness threatening to plunge the city, and the world, back into a second dark age. Among the most sinister threats to Arkham City is the evil Black Lodge syndicate, led by the charismatic Master Therion. His nihilistic outlook shapes the group's destructive goals: with a circle of powerful sorcerers at his command, the potential for sowing chaos in the city is unmatched.
 
Former Miskatonic University Magic Academy student Daijuuji Kurou knows little of grimoires, but what he does know terrifies him - enough that he left his university life behind, and now practices a failing detective business in the shelter of an orphanage in a quiet corner of Arkham. But just when he thought his Academy past was buried, it catches up with him and pulls him back into the dark shadows of the occult: Hadou Ruri herself appears at his door with an offer he can't refuse. The only way to combat the Black Lodge's growing magical power is to find, and retrieve, a grimoire with the power to activate the mightiest Machina of all: Demonbane. Well let me put it this way:  it can get very, very dull or very, very nice, it all depends.  For instance, i'm engaged to my girlfriend of 8 years, our sex life has been active for a long time but has it ever gotten to be outright annoying/boring/negative in any way?  The answer is yes, but it also has been very fun/enjoyable/positive in many ways as well.  It honestly has it's ups and downs, one of the most common issues I think in couples is simply one person just doesn't want to do it while the other does.  It really isn't something to rip your hair out about.
And quite frankly, virginity these days literally means nothing.  If you kept it, cool; just means your first time is a bit more romantic.  If you lost it, cool; just means you know what you're doing, it really just doesn't matter.

25 hours, and still enjoying it.  Can't really find a reason not to like it yet (without talking about basic optimization of course)

16 hours in and I can say that I'm enjoying it a lot already.  I generally don't care about the framerate in games like this, granted the other issues are annoying (screen-tearing that get's fixed with V-sync) but all in all it's still an enjoyable experience.  I haven't gotten my $1/hour requirement when it comes to games yet but who knows, this game could end up taking me forever and having several different reasons to play through it.  I also have to take into consideration that I pre-ordered it after symphonia got unlocked on the tiered pre-order bollocks so I get even more out of it than I normally would.

Just cleared the Arm of the Father (Savage) in ffxiv.  Holy fuck this fight, I think we spent about 80 hours on it?

I stopped playing competitively or seriously in Dota 2, so now my friends and I just do stupid crap like 5v5 All mid Meepo

I had played WoW from Burning Crusade to mid-Mists of Pandaria as a hardcore raider, but I stopped playing because the encounters just stopped being interesting, even after doing every encounter from different perspectives (tank, healer, hunter, caster dps, melee dps).

Right now however I'm playing Final Fantasy XIV:  A Realm Reborn because quite frankly, it's better in my opinion.  Crafting actually takes time when doing high-level items and it requires some careful consideration as to how you approach your crafts.  Gathering as well is much more than FIND NODE, PUNCH NODE, GAIN STUFF.  
 
When it comes to actual combat content, the encounters that have been current content have been pleasantly challenging and have taken a long time to learn the fights as a hardcore raider (as competing players will NOT release their findings until much later).  Fights have also been completely merciless towards under-performance or handling mechanics incorrectly, 9/10 times causing the group to die.
 
If you want an example of EVIL mechanics from it though, I'd go back to 2.0 Twintania which was labelled as the most difficult MMO encounter ever made, as it had a large amount of instant-death mechanics, a large amount of situational awareness required, and the gear in that period was not particularly good for this encounter in the hardcore days.  The mechanic in question is Twisters.  Twintania would start a cast called "Twister" and at the end of the cast 4 random players will have an invisible landmine placed on their location at the time the cast ended; if the player stepped on the landmine (now called twister for consistency) it instantly killed them and knocked back all nearby players very far (there's a wall surrounding the arena that if you touch it, you instantly die as well).  Now here's the kicker, you don't know if you've been targeted by it and if you go too far away from your own twister, it detonates, causing you and anyone else nearby to get knocked back, most likely into the death wall.
 
I love almost all of the encounters (some are just too easy), and I continue to play it as a hardcore raider to this day.

There's quite a few very large bushes in my neighborhood that I had planned on hiding in scaring kids as they walked by.  Every few groups i'll switch bushes so that parents can't find me :3
