  1. 1. About eroge seiyuu, I'd find this article was quite interesting. And definitely will answer some question like why Mangagamer need to ripped the voice from Kara no Shoujo and Koihime Musou. I didn't know the licensing cost for those 2 VN back when translated version was released, but at least I knew that the seiyuu cost for Kara no Shoujo and Koihime Musou should be a lot there. I said that because in Koihime Musou, we had some top seiyuu like Wakamoto Norio and Midorikawa Hikaru. As for Kara no Shoujo, I think it's probably more on Kawashima Rino who had many word said there (If we based on the article, eroge seiyuu was paid per word and if we look at Kawashima popularity, my guess the payment at that time when Kara no Shoujo was in making would be around 110 or so yen). Hope it would give you some basic, although I didn't knew about how the seiyuu payment system in Clannad though (But since KEY at that time was tried to make all age VN after making 2 eroge before, maybe they adopt same system for Clannad ie payment per word). 4. I didn't knew about that, but hopefully it was just Nintendo thing instead of Japanese stopped their reading. Although if we look from economic perspective, it's quite complicated issue though since it was probably involving the economic capability of Japan people right now (ie probably decreasing, so they probably decided to limit buy the VN) and some in regard of heavily decisive pirating. Keep in mind that this is my speculation though. For question 2 and 3 I couldn't answer, but hopefully I could answer OP question for point 1 and 4 here.
  2. Welcome to Fuwanovel, and hope you had fun here. Okay, back to topic here. For Visual Novel, are you okay with H-Scenes. Maybe you was okay with that, but to be safe I think I'll just recommended All-Ages VN first (Which some of them was probably already read by you though). For recommendation, I think some member above already recommended good one, but Steins Gate and Rewrite was good too. So does Umineko and Higurashi (Also keep in mind that both of those had some sort of sequel ie continuation. Oh, and also I recommended Rose Gun Days from same author). And for last of my recommendations, might as well try Dangan Ronpa and the sequel. Hope my recommendations here helpful to you. PS - If you interested with female protagonist, how about Aoishiro too. It was mystery VN with some Japanese mythology element. PPS - Just in case you didn't fluent in English, well you could learn English from VN I suppose. Good luck with that.
  3. Thanks for all congratulations here. As for answering the questions here, @Zakamutt Okay, then I should thank Decay and Tay more. Is Deccy was your nickname for Decay by the way? For answering your question about my grammar, well it's embarrassing topic here. Back in school, I'd never care about grammar since we must memorize all 16 tenses, and back there I never care about that. So, I got many bad mark on some English quiz there. Thanks for the critic though, and from now on I'll try to write my post grammatically correct. @Novel21 If you count having a pet as loving animal, then my answer would be yes. In fact, I had many dog before. As for my number one VN, quite hard to choose but if you looking from my favorite genre (Gameplay), maybe Seinarukana. For my favorite VN Character, maybe Miyama Nena from Yurirei (Lazy, but quite smart). Guess that's all for now. Once again thanks to all member here.
  4. @Dergonu Well, the reason is that I never give the score to any of visual novel (Beside it's too hard to properly give the score anyway, or maybe you want some case like 4/10 later). Or if you want to look more objectively, maybe it's quite hard ie maybe I like some VN now, but I'll less like it in the future. Maybe I'll try to did that. Although the main reason is that I used VNDB as VN forum in the past though. @Arcadeotic My favorite would be gameplay VN right now. It's quite addictive if I said it myself. Anyway, thanks for congratulation here both of you.
  5. Sorry late to said this, but welcome to Fuwanovel and hope you had good time here. For VN recommendation, I think if you into all age maybe Dangan Ronpa and the sequel would be good for you. Also Chaos Head and Steins Gate would be good too. For otome game, maybe Ozmafia would be your next otome VN. For last word, hope we meet often here.
  6. From my situation back in college, maybe Soutarou from Koiresort ie didn't enjoy the party too much (Although I didn't do part time job to pay the college and got the job at the resort with sexy waitress uniform of course). Also, actually back in college I live separated from parents like him (Note that I live in dormitory, which was part of my college). I said that from my situation though.
  7. Okay, so here I am try to following the tradition and confused how to write this. And if you found my post awkward, I'm sorry about that. So, about my activity in Fuwanovel, I actually joined in December 2014, but I didn't post as much as right now ie only came occasionally and post if something interest me. Then, back at November made Koichoco discussion thread, and the result was quite good (Also back in VNDB it was less lively). Since then, I decided to be more active here and I decided to introduce myself back at January. And as you could see, now I'd reach 500 posts here. Okay, maybe I'd spamming a little here, but to anyone else who read this, hopefully my post here would be useful and if not, I'm sorry about that. In here, I'd met with many good member here. And so I'll try to express my thanks here to some member @Tay @Nayleen Thanks for maintaining this site. I'd several time experience when Fuwanovel was down, and both of you always try to got it fix fast (At least according from the Twitter). Also thanks to Tay for establishing VNTS, which right now is the VN Translation Progress that I follow (And made the review) right now. @Down @Kaguya @Nosebleed Thanks for being Global Moderator here (And also I'd still call you 'Elite Four of Fuwanovel', although one member was inactive right now though). Good luck being moderator here, and sorry if I bothered you in the past. Oh, and to Nosebleed thanks for continuing Dracu Riot translation. @Zenophilious Thanks for answering some of my question here. Also for moderating the thread @CeruleanGamer I knew you didn't came here lately, but I still remember you give many tips for Eiyuu Senki. Oh, and if you read this, I enjoyed Eiyuu Senki. Thanks for your Eiyuu Senki tips and some of gameplay VN, although I remember more from Eiyuu Senki though (Also, your tier list from GOLD was interesting). @Decay We already met since I was active back at VNDB. And you always give some interesting info about VN Translation, which spark my interest. So, I'd decided to follow your step by commented on VNTS (And by the way, I like your musing in VNTS). Also @Zakamutt for making VNTS, although I didn't interact with him much though. @Arcadeotic Although claimed himself to be cold, I knew you really nice guy to have around here (And quite cool I guess). Anyway, thanks for reading my VNTS Review here (Also for translating Bishoujo Mangekyou). @Dergonu Thanks for welcomed me back at my very late introduction thread, and I knew you really like yuri. Oh, and thanks for translating Tsui Yuri. @Rooke Thanks for interesting insight about VN, although I need some time to digest it. @Clephas Thanks for some of your VN Review, even if you didn't the VN itself. I'd also like to say thanks to all of new Fuwanovel member here. Looking back from 2012, I'd already take some interest in Fuwanovel, although I didn't knew I will become involving in this forum though. And by the way I think new member mean that Fuwanovel here was indeed growing, but I also understand that some old member like @OriginalRen didn't like the change though. Also, about my VNTS Review, the reason was I already like to follow Visual Novel Translation Progress since back at 2012, and I'd find it interesting that VN industry right now compared to be around 2000 or so. I think that's all for my 500th post here, and sorry if I couldn't express myself here well and bad English here. PS - I'll try to answer any question that any of Fuwanovel member ask here, as long as it's reasonable of course.
  8. Interesting info about August there, ChaosRaven. About August anime adaptation, well it was quite mediocre and was grouped together with many harem anime iirc (And Yoake was also had off model in term of infamous cabbage), so of course they didn't became smash hit anime. But, I think if we talk about fan translation scene, the most interesting thing about August here would be 'August Curse'. And I'll post my rant about that from back before Anime Boston (Actually I wrote this as response to Mangagamer survey result about Aiyoku no Eustia). For more opinion, I think August like to use same face model (Can't be help though, since it was the style from their main artist, Bekkankou). And about another user opinion, judging from the VNDB score, our Clephas think that August game was quite mediocre (It's his opinion, okay), but at least I knew that Aiyoku was regarded as good VN here. I think that's all my input about August (More like August curse though). PS - For bonus, how about off-model cabbage that I said earlier from Yoake anime here.
  9. Interesting news I guess, although from the description at VNDB looks like it'll be standard slice of life VN ie moege with cafe setting there. The premise would be our MC here want to get a girlfriend before he graduate, so he decided to work part time on cafe and get close to 1 of 5 heroines. For the girls uniform, I think it would be combination of Free Friend 1 for the upper part and Chihaya (Rewrite) skirt for the bottom part (Based on color). About the seiyuu, compared to Evangile I think the seiyuu here was had more work in untranslated VN. Oh, and for the opening, I think it was quite standard. And for last word, i think I'll keep my eye on this project for now (Beside, if Moonstone was really did this, it mean that Japanese VN Developer was indeed see some potential in international market). PS - For the score, well it was quite average both at VNDB and EGS (VNDB was at 7.26 with 54 votes for now, while EGS was at 77 with 136 votes).
  10. Love, well it's interesting and broad. Personally I still didn't had the girlfriend yet, but at least I had family (Love to family is one of 4 type of love). There's also mistaken case in term of love. I think I'll try to elborate about love later.
  11. Only 3 days left and it's still at around 10,000 (10,574 to be exact). Let's just said that this is definitely failed project, unless in 2 days we got 15 people who got too much money donate 10,000 each (Unlikely scenario I knew). And looks like the company already give up ie not give much update (The last update was from May 9th). That's all for my update.
  12. Well, to be honest I didn't take much attention to this. But at least I still knew they should edit the 'heroin' text. I mean are we played as one of narcotic drug to get the prince became addicted to heroin or something like that. Joke aside, this type of typo shouldn't left there by professional company of course (Although I may doing same mistake in the future). Other than very major typo, no much comment here.
  13. Replaying Yumina because this is in VN Reading Club, and I was already at the end of Chapter 1.
  14. Interesting, and by the way thanks Rooke (I couldn't access reddit because it was blocked by my own internet provider). About the countdown, guess we'll see if it's leading to something big (ie translation announcement) or only the translators boredom curing activity (ie nothing will announced) this Saturday I think. Either way looking forward to announcement.
  15. Okay, to close the debate, you may feel like nukige was filled with something like Aaaahhhh.... and Oooooohhhh.... and therefore it's not worth translating (And you'll grew to hate it more if you translating it, especially with many H-Scenes). But if you really talked about nukige did some disservice to VN Market, I think it's slightly wrong, because from what I remember in the past, most people already thinking that VN was filled with porn anyway, so there's should not expectation much from VN except porn (In fact, I'd read somewhere that Katawa Shoujo was at first was claimed as had sex with disabled girl or something like that, and therefore causing little controversy). And if you really knew about VN localization history, in the past we had much nukige release. One more thing, if you claimed Mangagamer was got complain because of nukige, actually it was their income source according to this article ie nukige outsells story VN in long term (Although the complainer also had the point though). For last word, maybe I'd not really need translated dialogue in sex scene, but there's always something like build up before sex scene, and I think most nukige recently try to had good reason in term of sex. But if you hate nukige and must burn it as soon as you see it, it's okay though. Oh, for original topic, if we count Haruka as nukige, I wish Escalayer to be translated.
  16. Sorry for late reply, but if you want to play straight VN without harem or sex scene, maybe Galaxy Angel trilogy would be fit after Yumina (Okay, the first game had MC was chick magnet, but at the beginning of 2nd and 3rd game you need to decided which girl you want to get into her route, so not much harem I think). Oh, and since you already had Eien no Aselia recommended above and even with sex you managed to finished Yumina, how about I recommended Seinarukana, since it was translated recently and had quite same gameplay as Yumina. Hope my recommendation help.
  17. To FredtheBarber, I think Yumina premise was kind of interesting the first time you knew it. My first impression about Yumina was from the battle actually instead of the premise itself. Other than that, it was quite shonen like I guess. And for a little spoiler, the interesting thing will be happen after chapter 5 ie entering heroine route. Okay, so I'd finished chapter 1 (Ironically, I'd started to talked about this at the end of May, when this is supposed to be May VN Reading Club). As we knew, Yumina must face some enemy before finally she could became student council president and solve her problem in regard about to be held back. The student council election itself was had tournament form, and well it's more like any shonen fighting tournament if I said it (I mean what's with debate was visualized in fighting). For the first opponent in the tournament, Yumina and friend must face Honma Maino, the librarian. She was quite soft spoken and friendly, but she couldn't did backflip well. And because of that she want the academy had policy to judge the student capability by each of student highest potential ie the student who bad at math and excel at basketball will be tested based on basketball skill (Oh, Maino actually was more academic one so if she won the tournament she will had academic test). For Maino seiyuu, she was Rikimaru Noriko who voiced Konami Manaka back at ToHeart 2 and Caesar back in Eiyuu Senki. The fighting with Maino herself more like warm up boss in term of story though, since she was decided to campaign fairly and you didn't had many branching (Other than CG difference). I said this because 2nd fighting will had more thing in the tournament, and I'll try to write my thought about it later. One last thing, each candidate who defeated will had sex with Ayumu in the sort of dream world (Although it's optional though). Keep in mind this information for now. For the boss tips, not much other than made good use of 'Endeavor Mind', 'Sincere Brainwashing', and 'I'm not a Cinderella Beta' skill well if you get it (Endeavor Mind buff all vanguard status by 15 for 2 turns, Sincere Brainwashing debuff all enemy status by 12 for 2 turns, and I'm not a Cinderella Beta debuff all allies status by 4 and enemies by 12). And make sure attacking use attack type which enemy vanguard couldn't block ie defense skill had - number for the attack type. Okay, I think that's all for my comment, and sorry if I couldn't word it well here.
  18. About this matter, while I'd also said that some people shouldn't watch Sailor Moon Crystal (Although to be honest, I said that in regard of lame battle animation compared to Go Princess Precure at that time rather than story though), my recommendation is that you better watch it from Crystal directly, because original Sailor Moon anime was had 200 episodes and Crystal also adapted the story from the manga anyway. After you finished watching Crystal, you might as well watch the original one. For Crystal itself, while the main writer had some problem in Precure storyboard, actually the people more complained about the comparison between old and new anime ie bad animation and less character development (Granted Crystal had less episode than original anime). tldr - Maybe Crystal was bad, but since some people appreciate it I suggest you better watch it first, and if you finished you could watch the old version. And see which version is better.
  19. Oh, welcome to Fuwanovel and hope you enjoy yourself (I knew this isn't introduction page, but whatever). About your request, maybe Daibanchou was the one you should look to, considering it was had same gameplay as Sengoku, only more unrefined. Also don't forget the sort of Sengoku prototype, Kichikuou Rance (Although once again Sengoku was more refined). Both of those game and Sengoku came from same developer, Alice Soft. For Eiyuu Senki, in regard of story maybe it was like Sengoku Rance. But the gameplay and endgame story more like Kichikuou one. For Eiyuu battle, it was quite simple. And to get the skill you'll need to follow heroine scene (Forgot to said thst all other character other than MC was genderbent hero, ie became girl). If you ask me it's good or not, I would said yes as long as you didn't expect very complicated story. Hope my answer here helpful to you, and had fun for trying recommended gameplay VN.
  20. Welcome to Fuwanovel even though this is not introduction page, narigane. About CG, I think it was unlocked each time you finished heroine route. For example, you'll unlock Nozomi CG Section if you finished her route. So, to see all of CG Section you obviously need to play all of heroine route (Either by manipulating affection point or playing all over again, it's your choice). About extra scene, there's none in here. And if you want to see Euphie scene with Tokimi, my suggestion would by play Narukana route next (Don't expect too much though). For true route, I think Narukana route was true route here. And if you interested more in Seinarukana, just google 'Seinarukana Animesuki'. Hope my answer here help.
  21. Visual Novel Translation Status (05/28/2016) Sorry for late blog post here. For the title, this week I choose ultimate title (You knew what I mean if you play Dangan Ronpa) and since the image header was from Homeless School Girl VN, so I'd use Homeless Girl (I'm not using school since the synopsis indicate that the girl couldn't attend school) from the VN title. Okay, about the VN itself, I'd read the VNDB discussion and let's just said that the girl was suffered many rape and humiliation, especially from her step father. Oh, and by the way thanks for translating Homeless School Girl, Deep Blue even though maybe the VN wasn't too much cheery for me and too heavy (Also quite dark from VNDB discussion). Welcome to my VNTS Review for this week here. For catch up from last week, I'm sorry to said about Angel Beats (AB) translation team who must stop their work for translating it because Visual Art decided to translated AB by themselves. Oh, and by the way we also had news about Ixrec working to translating Rewrite + VN. As for my comment, maybe Rewrite was kind of divisive, but since we'd promised that there will be improvement about the scenario I wonder what kind of reaction we'll see later. AB once again not interested so much right now because it was only volume one, while KEY obviously will add more AB volume in the future. Let's see it later. For fan translation project, we had another one established here. As for the progress, right now it was quite hard to said but the translator promised us that the moment he update the progress, it'll be at least around 75%. For the VN itself, it was some sort of nukige with fantasy world setiing and loser MC. And for the woman, we'll had big breast one. Not on my list of looking forward though, but good luck on the project though and hopefully this VN will satisfied any big breast fan in the future if it's translated. About Indie Go Go (IGG), looks like it'll be trend in the future for localizing VN. At least it was had advantage over Kickstarter with flexible fund ie if the project didn't managed to get funded in time, the project itself could be extended compared to Kickstarter which couldn't be extended if it's failed (I guess). Also, apparently it was more flexible for the project with 18+ content ie not as restrictive as Kickstarter in term of adult content. For the report, this week we had 2 projects entering IGG (Corona Blossom and Princess Knight). For Corona Blossom, right now it was gathered around 8,329 out of 30,000 (Half of it thanks to some backer who backed at 4,000 though), and while the goal was quite small some member here said it was probably for promotion for the VN itself. And this time Princess Knight was very surprisingly almost achieved the goal, with 10,864 out of 12,000 funded. Both VN was said will be delivered at this year, and both of IGG still had one month left for deadline. Let's see it later for both of IGG, although obviously Princess Knight will fully funded first obviously. And before forget, my condolence for Princess Knight MC seiyuu, Mochi Yomigi here who passed away at 30 years old. Sekai Project Well, not much here other than Maitetsu picked up again at 15.68% translation progress and WEE at 86.52%. And I think I'd said enough about Princess Knight above. For Darekoi and Memory Dogma, it was had some nice progress (78.75% for Darekoi and 42.15% for Memory Dogma) although I'm still not interested with those 2 though. And for 2 new announced VN here, Sekai was surprisingly fast at translating it (Although the VN length for those 2 was short though). By the way, the progress for both new announced VN was at 50.11% for 2236 AD and 47.08% for Love, Guitars, and the Nashville Skyline (Don't know much other than it was probably about guitar play thing). Other than those progress, not much ie no Chrono Clock and Tenshin Rahman progress once again. Mangagamer For 2 weeks update roundup we already had Kyonyuu (Or Funbag) Fantasy was fully translated and edited, Kuroinu at 70% translated, Imopara 2 at 46% translated, Pygmalion was at 100% translated, MYTH was about entering beta testing, and Da Capo 3 was at 94.7% translated and 91.3% edited. For nukige progress, no comment other than the progress for Kyonyuu was very fast for just recently announced VN (Or maybe Mangagamer was already did all the work, including partnering with Waffle and keep it secret before announcing it). For Pygmalion, let's see how much fast the editing will be, although hopefully it won't be too long. For Da Capo 3, actually it was had the true route translated and what's left is only epilogue/omake thing. Looks like Da Capo 3 translation will definitely finished before July, and hopefully in next 2 weeks we'll see 100% at translation progress for Da Capo 3. Fan Translation For Astral Air, after crazy progress from last week, it was slowed down again at 0.95% progress from last week (I'm still grateful of course) bringing the overall translation progress to 79.71%. Koiken Otome, looks like the VNTS was wrong although we had the QC update though from 86.71% to 87.71%. For Koiken Otome itself, although the game might get not so good review, just try to low your expectation very low in case you want to play it ie not expecting action like Tokyo Babel even though the premise was quite promising for that of course. Hanasaki, after reading Clephas review (He was slightly dislike it though) I think the prologue was indeed mean common route and right now it was 100% translated. About the next route for Hanasaki, they said they'll translated Hikari's route next according to this post. Majokoi translation team just had the update after VNTS was finished, so I'll report the progress here. For the progress, it was at 5% translated and 3% edited. This is definitely good progress if I may said. Tsui Yuri, since Dergonu was faced the challenge with the name Math test (I understand) the progress was not much compared to last week, although it was still good though (3% progress, and the translation progress right now was at 25%). For last update, since Arcadeotic also busy with exam, there's not much progress in Bishoujo Mangekyou translation (The progress was at 4.7% translated for 8th script). Well, not much progress, but nevertheless good job for updating it even though both of you were busy. And last word for Fan Translation progress, there is another new translation project for VN called Mahou Shoujo. Here's the page, and if some of you want to offer help just ask Chronopolis there. That's all for my VNTS Review. And I think this week was quite usual ie not much excitement after many crazy time in April (I mean back in April we'd had many big release for translated VN). See you next week in my VNTS Review. Oh, and thanks for your interview with Sekai Project, Decay.
  22. If you talk about high school setting, it was quite much actually. Okay I'd actually recommended some back in your introduction thread, so I think this time I'll just add Lucid9 since it's free, quite well received, and the creator here was one of Fuwanovel member. Maybe Lucid9 wasn't had much romance in the VN itself, but if you want high school with a twist, try it. Oh, and if you had 12 or so GB HDD space, try School Days, since this VN was quite infamous for bad ending ie gory. Hope my recommendation here help.
  23. After seeing the game, I think even though maybe the art was not usual VN art ie this game use gothic, it's still better than Higurashi original art. Okay, maybe I'd said the art was off putting in the past, but right now I think it wasn't too bad (And some of us called it beautiful art). About the VN itself, I think it's quite good indeed with VNDB average score was at 8.38 right now and Bayesian at 7.29 (I'd already knew Bayesian rating was created in order to prevent VN with low votes had very high or very low ranking, but seeing the Bayesian score raise significantly at least indicate that this VN was good imo and acceptable (Although I might be better to look at average score of course)). As for the OST, it had voice and quite good if I said myself. By the way, if some of you want another feedback in form of review, I'll give the review from Operation Rainfall. The review was quite good imo, and I think it was quite spoiler free imo (Although be careful though). And I think this VN was quite profitable in Japan, so much that I'd browse Jap Wiki for this game and find out that the Drama CD was had some very good seiyuu name like Mamiko Noto for White Haired Girl and Yui Horie (Will Mangagamer localize the Drama CD later I wonder, or will we had voiced Fata Morgana with the seiyuu from Drama CD voicing character in the future? I'd certainly hope so). Okay, and for last word here sorry if I couldn't word well what I want to said. Here's the review from Operation Rainfall, divided in 2 pages. House in Fata Morgana Review Page 1 House in Fata Morgana Review Page 2
  24. Bumping here. This time I'll post another review for this game. Here's the review, and hopefully it could be good for your feedback, @Diamon. And here's his last word from the review that I'll quote here (Before that, I'm sorry if the word couldn't motivated you or discourage you). Hope the review could help for the feedback, and more opinion was of course good. For information, actually the blogger already reviewed the anime since back at 2005 so he was quite experienced in reviewing anime if you need to know about the reviewer experience.
  25. Just realize that Ever17 had some sort of leitmotif from the gamefaqs since the OST name was not indicating the character name. Might as well put the OST here. Tsugumi Theme - Qualle (Jellyfish in English) Sora Theme - Karussel Delphine (Merry-Go-Round Dolphin in Englsh) You (Not the reader, but in game character) Theme - Lemurianische Ruine (Lemurian Ruins in English) Sara Theme - Kosmisher Wal (Cosmic Whale in English) Coco Theme - Weißer Hund (White Dog in English, and I'd use PSP Version) Enjoy the OST, especially if you fan of Ever17 here.
