    By Kaguya

Introduction   Welcome, fellow Fuwamembers, to the FuwaRecognition thread. Starting this March, we’ll be highlighting some of the best contributions made by our members each month. From snazzy blog articles to delicious forum threads, and perhaps even a few things more on the shitpost part of the spectrum, we'll keep an eye out for the cream of the crop. And then we'll gather them here. Just for you.   *holds up giant APPLAUSE sign*   A-hem, so this is the f

solidbatman's Mega Big Ultra Contest

Hey Fuwans! Lino here again to bring you some more fabulous happenings from the community. As some of you may be aware, solidbatman is holding a contest, and a mega big ultra one at that. For the next 8 weeks we are going to be subject to many an event set by the man himself, earning points after the completion of each one. Why do this you ask? 'Cause he is our Dark Knight, and we do not question that. So why participate? Well, the participant with the most points at the end of it all will

Hotblooded epic anime: Gunbuster

The first pick for my series of epic anime has to be non other than Aim for the Top: Gunbuster! one of the best anime ovas every produced. EVER! This six 30min episode anime is more packed with more awesome than your average 26 episode tv series. Produced by Gainax and directed by non other then Hideaki Anno himself. The creators put so much love and passion into each and very frame you can't help but keep watching just one more episode and before you know it it's over. But it's over at just

Mahou Sensou Was A Mistake

What a great way to start this blog, using a recent example to showcase just exactly why some anime are a mistake. Mahou Sensou, produced by Madhouse... yes, you heard it right, Madhouse. The company that brought you amazing shows such as Hunter x Hunter, Death Note, Hajime no Ippo, Nana, Chihayafuru, etc. is the company that one day probably went to a mexican restaurant, ate some expired tacos, and in the process of expelling all the dejects from that dinner, Mahou Sensou came to life. I

Anime Was a Mistake

Well it sure took a while to make an entry on this blog. This blog is meant for me to rant about anime I watch and that, most of the time, thought it was terrible. Mind you every entry in this blog is my personal opinion and you're free to disagree and even enjoy the anime I complain about, so please try to be considerate of my opinion and don't ragequit if I mention an anime you like. I still don't have a set format for my entries or a schedule, they'll likely be very inconsistent beca

"Nippon, here I come!" - Random Review - Tokyo School Life

Okay, this will be my first blog entry, and my not-really-first-but-let-just-call-it-that-way attempt of reviewing a visual novel. I'm still inexperienced, so please forgive me if I made any mistake The first VN I will be doing review is Tokyo School Life, a visual novel made by M2 Co., Ltd., and published by Dogenzaka Lab on Steam in February. This VN somehow slipped under my radar for some reasons, and it was not until about 5 days after released that I noticed its existence. Seem like my

Clephas's Rave: Minori VNs and Why I Dislike Them

First off, those who remember my comments on Natsuzora and 12gatsu will remember I mentioned hating Minori games, with the exception of Eden*. The fact is, that I still do hate them, I hate reviewing them, and I hate reading them. The question is, why? I keep asking myself this. Minori has really good visual quality, good writers, and decent characters (even if they basically reuse the exact same cast over and over with different appearances and background stories to suit a given VN). T

Boku no Hitori Sensou

To be honest, my first thought after playing this game was: 'Yeah, this is a Looseboy game.' Needless to say, I don't always consider that a compliment. Looseboy has a tendency to prefer being opaque even where being opaque doesn't really serve all that well, as anyone who played Sharin no Kuni or G-senjou can tell you, if they can bring themselves to discard fanboyism. Why do I say this? I say it because if I don't manage to get past that particular lump in the throat, I won't be able to pro

Changing is Hard

Last week I read It's A Hard Life. Three years ago I read Katawa Shoujo. And here I sit, writing, having finished neither of them. I bring this up because it says something about me that might not be immediately obvious and I wonder if maybe this actually matters. I think I'm in dire need of some accountability and of some understanding of what I'm really doing with myself. So, the first thing to do is to take a step back and think about why I haven't finished half of my favorite stories. Fro

Sanoba Witch Part 5: Kariya Wakana, Conclusion

Kariya Wakana Wakana is the game's single sub-heroine, who is only accessible after you have finished both parts of Nene's route. It is slightly shorter than the other routes, naturally, and it splits off a lot earlier in the common route. This route is entirely devoid of the fantastical aspects that were central to the drama of the other paths, setting them aside for standard love-comedy drama. Thankfully, this doesn't include a lot of meaningless ichaicha (in fact, the route ends really

Sanoba Witch Part 4: Shiiba Tsumugi

Shiiba Tsumugi Tsumugi is both a transfer student and the game's reverse trap. That said, she has a definite fondness for cute things, and the way she dresses is a special circumstance, so don't go in thinking she is a boyish heroine. She's actually quite the reverse. Her path is probably the most focused on the protagonist so far, with an even stronger focus on a certain aspect of the setting that is vital to all the paths. Since I'm avoiding spoilers here, I won't spell it out, especiall

Zalor's Saya no Uta Analysis

Hey guys, Lino here again bringing you another highlight from the community. Some of you may have encountered one of our wonderful members here on the site named Zalor. He's been around for awhile and has written up a few awesome analyses on a few visual novels that are at an almost scholarly level. Saya no Uta was his most recent subject for an in-depth paper. He wrote an awesome analysis for it called Perspective in Saya no Uta which is linked right there. I highly suggest checking it out

Violet Hill Playthrough - Final Episode || What next?

As could have probably been easily predicted, I last left off 5 minutes near the end of the demo. As a consequence, the final one ended up being the shortest episode. Still, I've included a little bonus at the end, although equally short. This video is also in high quality, at least when compared to the rest. As for what I'm doing next, which is assuredly not the question first and foremost on your mind, I'll actually leave it up to your capable minds. I can do most everything except that

Sanoba Witch Part 3: Togakushi Touko

Togakushi Touko Touko is the 'oneesan-senpai' of the group. She takes pleasure in teasing others, making jokes, and generally maintaining a light atmosphere. Her path is perhaps the least straightforward so far... mostly because the issues are a bit less than predictable if you aren't used to seeing potential difficulties based upon minimal setting cues. I will say that I did like her as a heroine... but I didn't like her as much as Meguru or Nene. The simple reason for this is that her pr

Hello and why this blog exists.

Hey everybody, this is my 2nd blog. From the name you might have already guessed what this is going to be about but let me explain. You see, those who know me know I hate spoilers. I hate them with passion, I hate them deep inside my soul, I hate their mother and their father, I hate HATE spoilers. Sometimes I don't want to know the premise, I don't even want to know what happens in the first hour of any visual novel or rpg or any game I play. Which makes it harder to explain the premise and

Sanoba Witch Part 2: Inaba Meguru

Inaba Meguru Meguru is the 'lively and cheerful, puppy-like kouhai' of the story. She is also the most 'fashionable' of the heroines, and the one who is perhaps the most like a 'normal girl' as far as this type of VN goes. The fact that Yuzusoft managed to make her character work is a mark of how high quality their stories are. I will say that the ichaicha in this one is a lot more tedious than it was in Nene's story, though. A lot of it is that both Meguru and Shuuji are really dense abou

Yeaw I got myself a blog!

Hey everybody who reads this. I'm fun2novel and this is my new blog. Actually it's my first blog ever. Always wanted to have my own blog if only to wine and complain about the state of the industry today. What industry? I have no idea, I guess I needed a place to be heard, lol. But I was too busy or too lazy to make a blog. But here I am, finally taking the right step, at least I hope, it's kind of scary putting yourself out there, lol. Well, actually the truth is that I wanted to get myself

Sanoba Witch Part 1: Common and Nene

Common First of all, this is, like most Yuzusoft games, a high-quality charage, though a charage first and foremost. As such, there is definitely a lighter atmosphere than you'd expect, considering the protagonist's personal difficulties and those of the heroines. Problems are resolved quickly and with no real secondary disasters, and they are generally resolved to the satisfaction of the characters involved, if not in the most ideal of manners. In other words, you won't be reading this VN

Po pi Po~~~

For people who likes Miku, they must already heard one of Miku's original song that was made. This song was made by Lamaze-P, in 2008. This song is about Vegetable juice as you guys deduce on your own. In the song Miku talk about how good vegetable juice for your body and its really cheap(200yen). And this song makes children love veggie juice. Because of the popularity this song went to the hall of fame, not only that there are lots and lots of remixes both funny/stupid and genuine remi

Rains' Stream for Japanese Grammar

Hey there denizens of Fuwa! LinovaA here of the Recognition Team, although you can just call me Lino. Nice to meet you all! Let's get right down to it. In recent months, there's been a trend towards people learning Japanese here at Fuwanovel, at least more publicly. Now, starting the Japanese learning process can be tough, believe me I know, but luckily we have had a member step up to the plate and try and help drop the entry barrier that puts many people off. Meet rainsismyfave, whom some of

Akatsuki no Goei Days 4-6 -- Japanese.exe has Crashed

Kaito, Why You So Cool? So welcome back, ladies and gents, to my corner of Fuwa. If you are here again it definitely means that you should probably be doing something better with your time. That aside, lets jump right in. So I have been playing Akatsuki no Goei, as some may know or have seen in my last blog post. Having finally come to the conclusion that Kaito is best male protagonist I learn better by actually doing, I jumped on a new track towards fluency. Oh boy is it ever
