Zenophilious
I like the idea of wincest in a VN, (like others, I tend to prefer the "safe" zone of two siblings close to the same age and not too young) aka Yosuga no sora (or to a much less obvious extent, Kanon (cousins) ). Not just for the obvious kink of it (there is that appeal, sure) - but I like it when/if they explore the social and moral dillemma involved in such a relationship. Making it the main route/focus would make for a great read imo. To see if/how the two overcome the stigma and the world's resentment. Can they find happiness and say "screw what others think."? Or will they walk separate paths, realizing it's too hard a journey? That's why I am so disappointed with a lot of VNs that have the incest tag, they just treat it like fluff and take it for granted. Everyone is happy-go-lucky with no repercussions or concerns. =/ Mind you, those ones tend to exist solely for the sake of porn and not much else, heh... I only say "not the main focus" because I've only ever really seen nukiges focus on incest and incestuous relationships. Added Yosuga no Sora to my list of VNs to wait for translation because it's not a nukige Agreed, it seems to be generally used to tickle the fancy in h-scenes, and not in terms of actual plot. *coughcough Hoshimemo cough cough* Suzu Fanatic

Darklord Rooke
So I finished reading Oreimo Tsuzuku Disc 1 about a week ago and just finished watching Koi Kaze. As such, I would like to ask you if you like to watch/read/play things if they have controversial or taboo themes and if just because something has them, you will watch it. I enjoy an entertaining story that's well told, I don't hunt themes. Kosakyun

I think it could've gone deeper into Chinami's mind, such as for example, exploring her grief due to her father's death a bit more and how You was her support. Still, the best part of the route was the information it gave regarding other characters and the VN's world. Also, Shino's reaction to Chinami being pregnant... while it was good that she accepted their relationship, it was so unrealistically light hearted... Because we all know (Imouto Paradise spoilers) that if you have a child with your 5 imoutos, all children will be healthy because due to love, inbreeding forgot it exists! Still, it's quite hilarious how the world works in Nukiges.

I've read somewhere that single-generation inbreeding has a pretty low chance of causing problems, as opposed to when it happens for 2+ generations. Dunno how accurate that is, though. As for my answer to the question in the topic, sure, to some extent. Not a huge fan of age-difference incest, rape, and excessive gore, though. Kosakyun
I enjoy anything that tells a good story, regardless of theme. It's like asking 'do you like watching this section of the news' or something. So for this case, as long as it makes use of these themes to their fullest extent. Spartan977
I can pretty much tolerate any and all kinds of things a story throws in my face, but if I like it or not depends on how the theme is used. If I see rape or wincest done just to turn people on, for example, I just consider it pretty normal, especially in a VN, but if it's done right rape can lead to glorious mental breakdowns, and wincest to heart-rending moments of "this-love-is-impossible-but-we-do-not-care", much to my delight. Bonus points if whatever theme it is gives me a good ol' shock. The exception to the above is gore and cannibalism. I enjoy them even solely for the lulz, and if they are done with care, love, and a pinch "let's screw the reader" it can lead to truly unforgettable moments such as (be careful, spoilers ahead for Muv-Luv and Saya no Uta!) CHOMP from Muv-Luv Alternative or the Fuck they're eating Oumi from Saya no Uta
mitchhamilton
if youre gonna spoil something Spartan977 you need to say what youre gonna spoil first and then put the spoiler in the spoiler tag. otherwise no one is gonna know what youre spoiling until its too late. Fred the Barber
I'm generally pretty whitebread, although I find brother x sister incest kind of appealing as long as it's not the focus of the VN and as long as they're both around the same age and not too young. Any other types of incest makes me extremely uncomfortable. That's about it, though. That more or less covers it for me as well. To be precise, in case I'm misreading Zeno (I hadn't seen the term "whitebread" before...): I tend to avoid controversial and taboo themes, though there is something moderately appealing about that one exception case. I couldn't really say why. However, I still tend to avoid it, even though there is a small thrill associated with it; in particular, I consciously chose not to watch Oreimo purely because of the incest angle, even though it otherwise was right up my alley. Frankly, I think it's just a door that I'm choosing not to open; I don't particularly want to broaden my horizons in this area.

Clephas
Konata yori Kanata Made The way the game deals with death, in particular terminal illness and human coping mechanisms. In particular, the protagonist's distancing of himself from the osananajimi who loves him and the way he uses the words 'Don't worry, I will die before you.' to save the soul of a terminally ill little girl.
