EastCoastDrifter
I found a good couple of them on Steam and all of them are pretty popular and well-known too. So which of these should I play first, and why? -Steins;Gate -Grisaia no Kajitsu -Clannad -Danganronpa Of course, you're free to recommend me other suggestions that are not on my list too. It would be really appreciated, thank you.
littleshogun
I think it was depend on you there, although maybe you could try Dangan Ronpa first though if you had little time to play VNs because out of those four Dangan Ronpa was the shortest (Medium length according to VNDB). As for the rest, you could pick those when you have time there imo. Hope this'll be help.

Also that Steins Gate events happen after Chaos Head's. Given that, is there a reason for reading in some order ?? Or they are tottaly unrelated ?? Chaose;Head takes place almost entirelyĀ in Shibuya. They are not completely unrelated but I think there's no particular reasonĀ to read them in order
Funyarinpa
Steins; Gate is a good starter for VNs, especially if you're an anime fan. GetĀ The House In Fata MorganaĀ afterwards. Absolutely mindblowing VN.Ā If you don'tĀ mind a game that's being released episodically (i.e.Ā 4 chapters out of 8 total haven't been released yet), you can tryĀ Higurashi When They Cry Ch.1- Onikakushi. Incredible atmosphere and great characters. Go in blind! (It takes a while to click.) Install this patch for better graphics and music. edit: Almost forgot Danganronpa! It's over-the-top, it's stupid, it's silly, it's stylish, you gotta give it a try.

Nah, Chaos.head andĀ steins;gate are just a bit related, you can playĀ s;g without even thinking about the other. I wouldĀ say, from your list, go forĀ steins;gate, it's quiteĀ short actually (20-30 hours) but trust me, you won't even forget any hour from it.Ā
DarkZedge
Personally I'd say start with Steins;Gate but it all comes down to personal preference and what you look for when picking a visual novel.
Zenophilious
I wouldn't recommend reading the all-ages version of Kajitsu.Ā It cuts content from the 18+ version, and it's not just the porn.Ā It cuts some of the more sexual jokes, from what I've heard (and damn, those jokes are funny), and it does actually cut a minor plot point in a route that's supposed to leave an emotional impact.Ā If you're going to read it, you really should read the 18+ version (NSFW). Out of those, I'd say Steins;Gate would probably be your best bet. Deep Blue
Deep Blue
1) -Steins;Gate <-------- awesome sci-fi vn, with very good comedy, amazing plot and some great characterĀ , not your typical vn about school life or slice of life etc, not a short one specially if you do all the routes, you dont need to read chaosĀ (30-60 hours depending if you do all the routes and your reading speed) 2) -Clannad <--------- one of the best slice of life/drama vns out there (some touches of fantasy but not really that much), with great comedy an amazing characters and some pretty good drama, really really long around 80-100 hours (you need to do all the routes if you want to read the true ending so the 80-100 hours are almost mandatory) 3) -Grisaia no Kajitsu <---------- school life comedy.. kinda...withĀ some great characters some good drama too and a bit of a fantasy here and there, with some action too (depending on how many routes you do it's on the long side cant really remember) same as zeno, I dont recommend you to read the censored version from steam 4) -Danganronpa <------- meh john 'mr. customer' smith
