I get what you mean by people being friendly when there aren't much gadgets and electronics around. I had an experience in my childhood when we visited our province. You could really feel nature there, the air was clear, you can bath in the sea and rivers, and even get free food from trees everywhere as long as you ask the owner of the yard. Can't say it's still the same tho since urbanization is already getting near those places and I haven't visited for a while now.
 
Is that Philipino supposed to be Filipino? It's kinda likely from my view since it's a well-known fact here that there are tons of OFWs in different countries. Some people even believe that there's no country without a Filipino. Reason being getting a job with a decent pay here is pretty challenging, even if you are a degree holder.
 
I can relate with the broken English. I have nothing against them since language is supposed to be a medium of communication so as long as you get your point across, it's fine. There's a lot of broken English here in the country and it always make me laugh since the meaning sometimes get crazy and irrelevant. Then there's the grammar nazis that have better English to tell them off.

Ahhh, a wonderful place for me to dump some of my stories. Thank you for starting such an awesome topic, Kuro.   Anyways, culture. Since I grew up in like, 3 different continents, I tend to have a lot of an internal struggle with culture. What culture do I represent? Which can I say is really "my" culture? Can you have multiple cultures at once? Things I doubt many get the privilege... Or shall I say curse of questioning.   I'll put my tale in spoilers, since I know already a decent amount of people have heard it before:-  



 
Because I'm a traveler since birth (no seriously, I was born while we were in the middle of driving to an airport. Pretty hardcore traveling m8), I find it hard to identify with only one single culture, so I'll talk about the different ones I've met throughout my experiences:-
 
The British are pretty open minded people. Despite being like the only Muslim in the schools I went to, some which were even Catholic, I never felt that others were judging me because of my faith. I did have a horrible personality back then though, so I had a lot of reasons for people to hate me . And Scottish aren't dumb, their accent is annoying as F though. Sudanese are considered to be the nicest Arabs out there, at least to other Arabs. If you're South Sudanese however, I'm afraid you won't find much love. As for white people, just be sure to laugh at all the jokes they crack, which isn't hard considering their English. Ah, and now it's time to talk about Saudis. Where do I even start? Saudis are rich as you can get. They can also be pretty kind, so if a Saudi ever invites you to eat at any time, be it 1 AM, be sure to go as you'll probably get some pretty classy food I like how I'm talking about people as if they're objects... Thing is, the coolest places here are all religious, so you'd have to be a Muslim to even visit most of them

So I was thinking what thread could I possibly make where I can make myself useful (supposedly on discussions tho) but the forums already have a long history so figuring out what could I possibly add to enrich the forums ended in me banging my head against the wall nothing. So yeah I decided to put my skill to use. Namely, making graphics stuff like wallpapers, signatures, and timeline covers. So yeah anyone can request and I'll do my stuff. But yeah, pretty much agree with what everyone is saying. I've bought Fable Anniversary as of late, but I just can't get my self to play it, not because it's bad, but because I'm just not as interested in games-period as I use to be... I find myself only playing games my friends play since I can talk with them about it. I must say, I find this to be a rather sad development, since I plan to develop games in the future... And making things you barely enjoy anymore is not going to be easy

Welp, everyone already said most of what needed to be said... But I would like to add that it's not the fact that the said protagonist is good or evil, but how balanced he is in the middle. A completely evil character is just as boring and predictable as a perfectly good character. Humans are in their own nature, not angels nor devils, but something in between. Even Hitler had some good qualities, and even the prophets of the Bible committed some mistakes.
 
That's what makes the human race as interesting as it is. There is a large space between pure good and pure evil, which allows for a lot of variety between mankind. 

this is the same reason superman is not engaging, he has damn near every power you can think of in some form or another and his only flaw is the rarest mineral on the planet? it don't take a lot to be a hero when thats the case, there's no true danger no real sacrifice you pay to be the hero.  frankly even his writers realized this with time and added his weakness to magic and his ties to loved ones being used against him just to keep it interesting as well as retconing some of his more bizarre powers.
 
the point im making is when you give a single protag too many solid good features and lil to no negative features he becomes boring, predictable,and hard to relate to or invest in. humans have always loved the underdog, the disenfranchised and heavily flawed over the perfect character since them winning or loosing feels like a greater impact.
 
as a exorcise ask your self, what is more intriguing watching a child born to a old money wealthy family continue his legacy or a poor migrant child work his way to becoming a self made billionaire? 

If I wanted to read a story with a character with all the positive attributes you listed earlier I would just read the New testament Bible. You said that "It is quite sad that people now think someone like that boring", but truth be told people always found those characters boring. To use classical literature as an example, the reason people enjoyed and continue to enjoy stories like Paradise Lost (where Satan is the main protagonist) or Dante's Inferno, is because chaotic characters/settings are simply more interesting.

... I wish I could describe my feeling with words, but this fowl language has no words I know of that can properly describe my feeling right now.

It turns out I left my mic on for hours yesterday, and it recorded all of my lonesome shenanigans... After editing out some things that are too embarrassing and the plentiful (I swear) silent moments, this is what we are left with.

When I signed up for a forum that was centered around eroge, I knew what I was getting into. I knew that I was going to be in the minority, but you know what? I didn't really care. I found a place where I could talk freely about these things, and as a result, I've never felt the need to censor my thoughts when posting here. And you know what? I have never once felt "discriminated against" or whatever else some people are calling it now. I've never felt like I've been treated differently because I'm a woman. Ever. I've never once been asked why I only play games aimed at men when I could be playing games aimed at women. The fact that I obsess over female characters has never once been questioned. If these things had happened, and people were ridiculing me  for it, THEN I would be willing to call sexism. Someone singling me out for my gender would be sexism. Threads about how attractive butts are may seem immature to some, but it's not offensive. There's definitely a fine line between the two, in my opinion, and I genuinely don't believe that Fuwa crosses it. Note that this is just one person in a group of many, but as part of the group involved in this particular issue, I think it's worth mentioning.
 
In terms of inside joke threads? Yeah, I see where people are coming from on that. As someone who is more content to sit on the outside of things sometimes, I do think the amount of topics that are aimed only at a select group of people is a bit unfair. That is one point I will agree on.
 
But honestly, the site really doesn't seem THAT different from when I joined in 2013. There's always been spam, there's always been meaningful discussion, and there's always been everything in between. It would be boring if we only had discussion, and it would be irritating if we only had spam. But the two CAN coexist, and that's one of the things I love about this place.
