MG update from Twitter. 

I am a huge fan of these types of games the sim-tactical-rpg-base-building-management types. One thing to note not all the games are management per say but rather fall into two or more of the descriptors listed. It seems that many of the games listed both above and here are games that have elements but might not be true management games in some sense. Often times they fall more into the category of tactical strategy rpg but eh maybe that would also be something of interest to you?
Some of the best sim-tactical-management games I've played are the following Age of Wonders (series), XCOM (series), Crusader Kings II, Endless (Legend & Space), Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes, Star Wars: Empire At War Gold Edition (and way back I used to play Galactic Conquest), Civilization series, Chroma Squad: Tactical RPG, Tropico series, Anno 2070, Europa Universalis IV, Star Craft series, Blood Bowl (fantasy american football), Galactic Civilizations II, and then a little bit more on the stretching it side of the type of game Valkyria Chronicles (similar to xcom especially on the hardest difficulty but without a huge emphasis on base building you do have to manage units though), Fire Emblem, Darkest Dungeon, and Recettear (fantasy item shop owner).
If looking for visual novels that have a management type of feel to them you might want to try Kamidori Alchemy Meister, which is both a strategy rpg, vn, and management game.
Some of these titles might be stretching it a bit but most of these games have elements of what you are looking for if nothing else. Hopefully you can find something to check out.

I just finished Conquest, and here is a few pieces of advice from me.
1.  Ditch Felicia as soon as you get Niles and have her married off to someone.  She is one of 'those characters' who start out in a master class and only seem useful at first.  Unfortunately, for long-range, Niles is better and for stat debuffs+damage, Kaze is even better. 
2.  Marry your protagonist to someone in the second generation (the kids), Flora, or Shura.  If you want all the kids you can get, you have to keep the protagonist from marrying anyone someone else can marry.
3.  I really, really suggest you abuse online functions to obtain skills that are otherwise unavailable for your characters.  In particular, getting Aptitude (even if it is from hackers) on your protagonist, Azura, and a few other select characters makes it immensely easier to grow useful characters.  In addition, I advise getting -faire skills for the weapons your characters specialize in, as that adds 5 damage on top of whatever you were already going to deal.  When having kids, the last skill in line always gets inherited, so I suggest you do your Aptitude abuse before you get kids and set it into the last skill slot.  Having Aether on your physical attackers is also helpful, lol.
4.  Don't bother building relationships in the course of the regular game... do it in castle attacks and the dlc battles.  Conquest's story battles get progressively harder toward the late game (the true end boss and the battle at the wall being a serious pain in the butt due to the level setup)
5.  Promote your infantry axe-wielders into Dread Fighters using the Dread Scroll (applies to both versions).  To be blunt, the axe/club infantry classes in this game suck.  Everything kills them and their stat growth is horrible for everything except hp (and mediocre for strength, which is stupid).
6.  Use Mozu.  I'm going to say it again.  Use Mozu.  Seriously, if you max her out as Arms Master, she is one of the most powerful characters you can have in the endgame, especially if you take the time out to grab some decent skills from the online portion (such as Lancefaire and Aether).
7.  Ditch all characters that begin as a second class other than Xander.  I'm serious.  Xander is a credible threat even in  the endgame, especially if you pair him with someone with high attack power.  His range 1-2 sword, Siegfried, makes him really deadly and he has the range of the cavalry classes to work with.  However, all the other ones that begin as a master class tend to be somewhat weak/fragile in the last part of the game. 
8.  The kids rule the battlefield.  Because you can basically set them up with the skills you want them to inherit, in addition to whatever skills that come with their base class, some of the kids are a serious powerhouse already... and once you level/promote them, they are even more useful than their parents in most cases (I ditched Niles for Nina immediately). 
9.  Flying classes are your transport ships.  Some of the endgame levels have some really annoying gaps and harsh terrain.  I turned every character I could (other than the protagonist and Elsie) into a wyvern or pegasus knight and used them as fast troop transports throughout most of the game.  The downside of his strategy is vulnerability to archers... but that is what switching is for (put the other character in the front at the end of the turn. 
10.  Elsie is your friend, but you need to use every skill-boosting item you can on her.  Her magic growth is incredible, but her Skill stat growth is virtually nonexistent, so when you promote her, she will have an immensely powerful magical attack that can't hit half the enemies.  The stats you want built up on her are skill, speed, and magic (so she can hit twice accurately on most enemies).  Adding on one of the skills that boosts evade and/or critical and she becomes a fairly useful powerhouse healer/mage that won't die quite as easily. 
11.  Azura rocks... if you get rid of the Songstress class.  Make her a Pegasus Knight (her first option) or Great Lord (the item gained from the free DLC allows this).  Either way, you can take advantage of her spear skills and natural tendency toward high speed and skill growth.  For some reason, most people seem to keep her as a Songstress, but the utility of her ability to give other characters another turn is pretty limited, when you consider how fragile the class is.  She was my best flying damage dealer at the end of the game (dealing a total of 46-60 damage with an upgraded Killing Spear if you counted her tendency to almost always attack twice). 
12.  Beruka is a tank, as long as she doesn't meet any archers.  Her defense growth is pretty high (she maxed it by level 12 in my game, as a Wyvern Lord).  If you want a flyer who can absorb damage, she is a decent choice, and she deals some pretty good damage herself, using upgraded handaxes (I had a Handaxe+3 on her) and/or Iron or Steel Axes.
13.  Kaze is your friend.  You want to get every treasure box in this game, but you also don't want any limp pieces of meat on your battlefield.  As such, Kaze is going to be a good friend in the late game, letting you ditch the normal archer classes (Niles and Nina) entirely.  His kid Midori upgrades to the Merchant class, which is really good as a late-game archer class, and she is also one of the few characters who can upgrade into the Mechanist class.  Teaming Kaze up with someone who has a high movement stat will let him open all the chests in the late game, as long as you don't get him killed... and like the Assassin class of earlier FE games, the Master Ninja is a pretty deadly opponent.
14.  Last of all... make sure you have your protagonist powerful by the time you get into the late-game (past 20) chapters.  I won't spoil it, but there is a battle that can be seriously hard if you haven't upgraded him properly in one of the later chapters.

Why the rant? Because a fucking splash of liquid death today caused a 10 mile traffic jam on a massive highway.  I want to find the people who decided to slow down and shoot them in the head saying they shouldn't have gotten on the fucking road.

Yes, actually a good series. Legend and Space was fun. But I see nobody mentioned The Sims yet. Can you manage not killing your Sims in 10 minutes?

I love when I'm 2 feets away from the enemy with a freaking shotgun have 95% chances of hitting and I miss...twice! Those are the things I don't understand, the chance prob should not be applied in some cases because is dumb as shit, is like I won the lottery in the missing prob xd

From shortest to longest, it's Ruriko > Tamie > Marika > Konomi > Mitsuki. For the original PE heroines, it's Ayaka > Ritsuko > Chiho > Rise. The routes don't vary much in size, and are actually quite lengthy. So everyone gets to enjoy their favorite girl to the fullest~ :3

Yeah, basically due to the sheer number of fraudulent charges, their payment processor decided to abruptly stop their service to MG. It's been down for almost a week, now. Can't make any purchases on their site until their payment processor decides it's okay, again. Considering they still haven't restored service even after MG pledged to stop offering Steam keys, they may end up having to use another service entirely, and who knows how long that process will take. 
MG really can't catch a break on these matters, they've had struggles with various online merchant companies for ages, now. Being forced to basically shut down their store right when their first two major releases of the year are meant to come out is a huge blow.

And this, my friends, is why adults sites get charged an arm and a leg for payment processing.

Once upon time, there existed a being of noble Aryan descent that ruled the lands of Gerweebum. It was a land of many beautiful females dressed in the finest attire and shortest of skirts, so short in fact, the divine winds need not exist to do them justice. Of course there were also males who existed in these lands, but nobody cares about them.
Gerweebum was ruled by a fair sort, Sir Nayleen Bernhard Edelweiß III, who lead his people with an iron administrative fist. Being a noble gentleman, he sought peace and prosperity with the surrounding kingdoms of Torrentia and Lolestria, but soon came to the realization that none of that would be possible.
Prince Stevus Faggustrus I, who pretended he ruled over the young, blossoming kingdom of Lolestria (even though he was just a prince so really nobody gave a rat's ass about him), refused to acknowledge the other kingdom's wishes and decided it be best to rise up with his followers in hopes of obtaining true enlightenment. Terrible to say the least.
A long war, which lasted not but 4 hours, was commenced and the kingdom of Lolestria was no more. The king of Gerweebum ordered all the young, innocent females of the land to be verily cast into the fiery Pits of Pedophilia (capitalized no doubt), where they would be shunned for all eternity. Truly a sad day.
Seeing this horrendous act, Torrentia rose up against the now dominating king of Gerweebum, leading to another bloody battle which ultimately caused a lot of Nayleen's followers to turn. When the battle was finished, Gerweebum remained on top but was left beaten and badly bruised. Its fabled king decided it be best to go into hiding, and was never heard of again.
Many eons have passed since that fateful day, but none have forgotten that Gerweebum's king still remains in our hearts. Hopefully, he shall return one day to once again take the throne and claim his rightful place...

Noslyl from Reddit made VNStats, a cool site that hooks into VNDB's api to analyze its data. It gives some broad data on VNDB's overall voting habits and then it allows you to dig deeper and see data on individual VNs, tags, character traits, and users of VNDB. My favorite feature of the site is the way it gives you an analysis on the VNs you've voted on and your own reading habits.
Here's my profile. I have Homicide, Murder, Accident, Death, Cruel, Shotgun, and Blade all in the top ten traits . Meaning I rate games containing characters with those traits highly. How about that? It also delivers some recommendations based on this data. I suppose I should finish Muv-Luv Alternative one of these days, and get into the Infinity series. A few xcom tips: Initiating combat correctly is one of the most important skills to nail down. Even though the game suggests you do this, do not break concealment by overwatching everyone but one guy and shooting with the last one. This often allows the enemy to get flank shots on you that you can't do anything about. You also have little control over who you eliminate first. If you have time, set up an overwatch trap so the enemy paths into your soldiers and you overwatch shoot them on THEIR turn, not yours. And if you don't have time, just open fire with someone without much utility like a sharpshooter, and then plan out the rest of your turn based on how they react. 
After you get into contact, use and abuse grenades. ALWAYS bring a grenadier, maybe even bring two if you can. Lean on the frag grenade's cover destruction capabilities heavily to leave enemies exposed. If you're ending missions with spare grenades, then you aren't using them enough, they're truly a godsend. Also build Flashbangs ASAP. If you ever get yourself into a tight spot, toss a flashbang out. If a sectoid or Codex ever does any annoying psychic shit, flashbang them and it will cancel it out. Once you get mimic beacons, start using those to get you out of awkward situations. Activated two enemy groups at once and are at danger of getting flanked? Toss a mimic beacon and the enemy will shoot it instead of you. It's so good. 
Rangers with phantom are clutch. Try not to reveal your phantom ranger on first contact if at all possible, but obviously don't lose anyone over keeping them hidden. Then use your phantom to scout ahead from the rest of your group so you can initiate combat correctly. I don't like the sword skills too much, I don't think swords do anything that shotguns don't do better, aside from basically being able to "run'n'gun" every turn with the sword. That said, Run'n'gun plus Implacable is a clutch combo. Run right into the heart of the enemy, gun down their key soldier and run right back into cover. Rapid Fire later makes this ridiculous.
Sharpshooters are really only good using the gunslinger traits, but they are incredibly good. You can shoot a billion times a turn just by going all the way down the right tree. For sure give your sharpshooters special damage-adding ammo, as this gives them a huge boost in damage potential since they shoot several times a turn. Adding an ammo type adds at least two damage to each shot (despite only showing one, the DoT is guaranteed to deal at least one damage as well), and you can apply that to multiple targets! So good. They're weak to armor, though, so always bring a good shredding plan. 
For Grenadiers, as I said grenades are the linchpin of any sound tactical plan. This makes their grenade perks great, obviously. But having a gunner build isn't a bad idea either, because Suppression, Holo Targeting, and Chain Shot are so good, and Rupture is godlike. Actually, you probably want Shredder Ammo on everyone, blast padding isn't very good. And you also probably want Salvo on everyone over Hail of Bullets. More actions, more destruction, more good.
Specialists are just kind of shit. They're good in longer, protracted missions where you'll want to heal multiple times, but aside from those they don't really have much of a place, especially in the late game. In the early game, Combat Protocol, Haywire, and Scanning are helpful, and once you get into the mid game you may want to respec them into an overwatch-support build with the medical and overwatch perks. I generally give my specialists flashbangs and save their moves for last. Their combat protocol can finish off enemies who are close to death, or they can flashbang to buy yourself a turn. 
The game really strongly wants you to play fast, and you should do so. It's really punishing if you just sit back and trade shots with the aliens, that's a bad way to go. Blow up cover, find good run'n'gun opportunities (don't leave your precious rangers exposed, though) set up flanks, and generally try to end every single engagement in one, or two turns tops. 

HOLY SHIT, just found out that the "petting" feature in the upcoming Fire Emblem Fates is still present in the west, but only for the character you married. In the Japanese version you could pet the everyone without having to tie the knot. Good god I swear I laughed soooo hard that I lost several decades of my pathetic life. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE POINT THAN? Is this really going to teach little Timmy how a healthy relationship between lovers should work irl? Guys, if little Timmy only has video games to teach him about irl relationships.... Timmy is already fucked (and not in the head patting way). 

Have some good news for you Trails fans but Trails of Cold Steel 2 is expected by the end of 2016. It was in a question/answer thing on twitter a while back. I'm hoping trails of cold steel 1 eventually comes to PC I would love to play it but I also have a dead-ish ps3 at the moment and gave up consoles. I play an hour of TitS when I can but for the most part I play only an hour or two a week simply due to other games being released...like xcom 2 for example.
I'm currently playing XCOM 2 and getting my ass handed to me repeatedly. My first character creations were 30 characters from the various muv-luv games. I just beat the tutorial and the first mission after that but I've misclicked quite a few times due to needing to get used to the new controls/mechanics. Hell I blew my squad up with a grenade trying to cancel throwing it. Definitely fun though. 
I've also started playing Fire Emblem Awakening for the third or fourth time in anticipation for Fire Emblem Fates (all the removed content is annoying as hell but I'm done with nintendo after the 3DS is replaced anyway so whatever). I'm looking forward to birthright, conquest, and invisible kingdom as each game is vastly different than the others from what I've heard.
All the other games on my currently playing list are stalled however for a pretty long while most likely.

I discovered VN toward the end of 2013, and even thought I still have the same taste, going here broaden them by several miles.
Now I'm really interested in utsuge for example. x)
So Fuwa, special mention to the skype group, played an important part in my growing. I litteraly grew with you guys.
Objectively, Nagi-sensei is the one who has the most important part in it because he invite me into the very first group (Will probably never forget the convo we had in Lolis VS Nee-san *.*).
But because of this I pretty much disapeared from the forum, which wasn't my intention xD
When I came back here (roughtly 1 year after I disapeared I think) Loligeddon happened and quite the number of drama and salt and the torrent thing, but from my point of view nothing really changed, minus that some of the people I came to knew when I first arrived here vanished, much to my sadness.
But nevertheless, Fuwa still managed to make me laugh enough to make my cry and hold my belly tight (yeah I'm looking at you H-scene cliche thread  )

Even though, I'm lurking most of the time I noticed that there is more and more french here xD. And with time passing by I feel like there is more and more people with pecular preference, which is really good if you're interested in it because they can generally answer to your expectation quite well. (just in case my thing is yuri but seems like Dergo took up on my role so for now I'll stay as a yuri ghost here, but fear not I'll evolve even further than any of the yurist here  )
But on the other side, we lost some good and bad things. Sadly there is not helping, time is quite cruel for this.

Some time ago, I heard that those skype group actually has a bad reputation, so I'd like to correct it.
I'll be blunt : we are really awful human being there xD We will most of the time shittalk about your favourite thing, but we expect you to not take it badly, you can also shittalk about our waifu, there will always be at least one person who will support you xp But we all respect what you may or may not like, and I'm sure that somewhere reaaaaally deep most of us care for the other, no homo we're all cute 2D grill after all.
Sure we have a humor.... special at least, but we don't bit very often. Thought, I won't deny that there was some really retarded drama (well they always happened when I was away so I don't actually know them firsthand ^^" )
Really, if you let loose a little there it's almost always funny. I spend hours (and I really mean it) laughing non-stop at the chat.
I litterally grew up with those group, like stated above. It lets my oddball charac and my sadistic side bloom by creating some meme on our member. I mean we all know that Ember (RIP in cooking now :/ ) is a girl, and that Shameful is an uncurable siscon  . 
I like doing jab, and the skype group was the perfect place to train me on doing jab thanks to that feeling of friendship/family.
But it's not all good, right now we have a lot of inside joke and meme, so much that months ago Zaka created a surviving guide, and it was completly oblsolete after 1 month xD
On the other side, if you managed to catch up thing or stay there long enough, you'll probably find nice friend to share your passion with, and also more personal stuff that can't be displayed here.
For example, last May, I collapsed several time, putting me in a hazy state, made me stop my study for the rest of the scholar year, and therefore couldn't pass my year, even though until then I had valided everything. Could have redone this year but, it's likely impossible with my state of mind (hate doing stuff I already did) and my health (40 hours per week is just too much for me now).
Well, when I said I had to go to the hospital because of my health they ignored me (allow me this little vengence xp ). But when I tell them that I just learned that I have a lifelong uncurable sickness (not deadly in itself but may create dangerous situation) most of them were genuily worried for me. And even if it changed nearly nothing to how I face it, it felt really nice.
It's probably because of them that I'm learning japanese right now (mainly because Nagi-sensei though xp)
If it wasn't for them I would probably be somewhere else less happy than now.
Really, those group are such an important part of my development on the last 2 years, it's almost ridiculous.
So yeah, even if being weird is like a requirement to enjoy the group silliness, I don't want people to thing of the group as cancer or somewhere where there is nothing funny to do.
Btw , it seems that for some time now, there is many project growing there, in the shadow like Zealty's tl of Hapymaher     .
 
Now to came back to Fuwa, I'd like to express my deepess thanks to @Tay who take up the role of Aeeru and made Fuwa stay alive. Thanks to him, I got to meet you. So, thanks a lot.
Fuwa made a lot of small things, without even noticing, to help me in more than one way. I'd like to repay the community as a whole (even those I don't know yet or will maybe never know). But, as it stand now, it's impossible. But soon enough (count years xD) we will maybe pull out a lot of new people in this media we all like. Yes, yes "we"  
I can't really repay you here, on the forum, but I will work behind the scene on several project, which I hope you will like.
