(This was a photocopy of the post I made at the gemot Encubed forums. Sorry if this offends anyone. Original topic Need (especially hacker) help for Fureraba Translation Project)

    Good day, everyone.
We at Oyatsu Fansubs, are planning to pick up a Visual Novel project. Its name is "Fureraba ~Friend to Lover~". More information about it can be found at:

    http://vndb.org/v11856

We are taking this project one step at a time, and as of now the staff counts are:
    Translators: 2
    Translation Checkers: 1
    Image Editors: 1
    Technicalities people aka Hackers: 1
    Editors: 1
    Proofreaders: 2(?)

    Last update: December 05, 2014.

Prologue:  0257/1626 lines Translated, 0035/1637 lines TLCed, Rest are pending.
Himari:      0000/0732 lines Translated, Rest are pending.
Rina:          0917/0917 lines Translated, Rest are pending.
Yuzuyu:    0000/0751 lines Translated, Rest are pending.
Misaki:      0006/0909 lines Translated, Rest are pending.

    Images: Successfully extracted, 88/281 Translated.

Total:        1180/4945 (24%)  lines Translated, 0035/4945 lines TLCed, Rest are pending

We are looking for 1/2 Translator(s) and 1 Translation Checker and 1 Editor to help with the project! Please read the details below as well as the Future Roadmap section before deciding!

Edit: A warm welcome to kleenexkun to our team! He's speeded up the project a lot! Please shower him with lots of thanks!

Translator: Some amount of experience with Visual Novels preferred, but not needed. You also have to be committed to stick with us till the end.

Translation Checker: This is a very important role too. You must have a in-depth knowledge of the Japanese, including the little nuances and phrases. And you need to be committed to stick with us till the very end, as well.

Editor:  This is yet another important role. See, this is a moege where the dialog will be standard, or normal daily life conversations. But that kinda sounds boring right? So as an editor, it'll be your job to make the lines and conversation flow while coordinating closely with the TLC to ensure the nuance is preserved as much as possible. This means no memes, no editing-a-normal-guy-to-sound-like-a-delinquent. Please.

The level of Japanese in this VN is not very hard, but there are many comedy scenes, so it's not a walk-in-the-park.
Please leave a reply here or send me a PM with a link to your profile post on this forum (if you have made a post there with your profile) alongwith any additional details you want to mention. Hope to hear from you soon.

We warmly welcome SomeLoliCatgirl and JeMhUnTeR to our team! And many thanks to the technical people who expressed their will to help out too! We will be sure to contact you if needed!

    Future Roadmap:

We plan to start work on the Fureraba Trial within the next couple of weeks. After that is released, we'll be sending a letter to SMEE, asking for their blessings in our endeavours, while obviously emphasizing the fact that we shall not profit monetarily from it in any way. However, if in the case we get a negative reply, saying that they don't want us to work on it, we shall most likely drop the project in order to respect the developers. I do hope you understand my sentiments on this matter, and the fact that the devs put in lots of effort to make every great Visual Novel. I want to respect them.

As for the project itself, we are all human-beings. All I can say is that we'll try our best to stay on track and not have things stalled much.

Number of lines: Our preliminary analysis shows the VN is about 3.3 MB of text, with ~48400 Lines.

    Screenshots and system:

The system of this VN is a bit different from the other VNs I've read so far. Let me explain with screenshots:

Anyway, the VN is overall very light-hearted and warm. It'd be great if VN fans across the world can read and enjoy it.

I'll add more screenshots of the other girls in future.

What to expect before/while reading the VN:

Let me be very clear from the beginning: If you're looking for a solid plot, you're most likely looking at the wrong place, I'm afraid. This is, as Clephas aptly puts it, a moege. It is slice-of-life.

Then why should you read this?

Good interaction development. Different kind of interaction system (see the above screenshots). Relaxing and comedic atmosphere. Slice-of-life. And more!
To me, it is a great way to unwind after a long day, when I don't feel like reading anything heavy or dark, just something light-hearted to help cheer me up or enable me to relax.

    Opening Movie:

I personally really love the song. <3
EDIT: Currently looking for the following people:

    a) 1 Translator
    B) 1 Translator who has experience in Translating H-scenes
    c) 1 Editor.

Please scroll up for the requirements. Thanks!

    Message from team:
Hello, we are currently working on a fan translation patch for Lovely x Cation. Let us make it clear from the onset that we are not looking to put out a mediocre patch. Quality is preferred as opposed to a rushed product with numerous flaws adorning it. With that in mind, if you feel you are up to the task to deliver a full-proof translation then consider joining our Discord or send us a message using our website. Above all, we are looking for team members that strive against adversity and throw down the gauntlet when the going gets tough. We would prefer to maintain a steady roster all the way until the release of our patch. Though, sometimes extenuating circumstances may lead us to seek additional help so that we can see things through to the end. Other than that thank you for giving us your attention and we would love to deliver a quality patch for this game.

    Best regards

yashasupercow reacted to Zakamutt in VNAer: think a weekly/monthly summary post on what projects are recruiting would be useful?
As (the only non-ded) blog author for Fuwanovel's blog (Visual Novel Aer), I'm currently doing VNTS reposts and localization / sometimes OELVN related news. Just news isn't necessarily all we need though; I'm thinking of stuff that might help fan translation projects.

If you look through the ongoing projects forum, you'll see a decent lot of threads... but it'll take a while to process all of them and find out what they're recruiting, etc. I see there are proposals for things to simplify this (tags, etc), but I still think a free-form description is going to be more... descriptive in general.

The general format would be something like:

Project Name Brief summary of the VN, trying to make it attractive to readers Positions needing more members, specifying what demands are made of the people (English, Japanese skill level, time/line commitment etc.) "Apply here" and a link to the thread / site where this is done. I can see this taking up a decent amount of time (depending on speed and ability to focus, anything from two to four hours most likely; possibly down to an hour and a half or less with project leaders sending me all the info I need.) Obviously, I wouldn't want to spend my time on something useless.

There's a few more problems I can think of. Some project leaders might not want to be featured in a blog post due to a potential swarm of less-than-capable applicants (I have no idea if this would actually happen.) Some might have other reasons.

Also, the posts would probably become too bloated if I included art samples as well; for some moege quite a lot of the appeal might actually be lost.

    My questions are:

Do you think this would be useful? Do you think project leaders would mind if I posted their recruitment info without their explicit consent? Should I look for more inactive projects that still might be non-dead and list their info as well? Should I do all the research myself, or can I leave that up to project leaders contacting me? If project leaders do start contacting me, will my PM inbox get ignobly capped? Would it be a good idea to cross-post this to this forum as well?
Also, improvements on the format for each listing etc. are welcome.

It is odd, especially Ayaya (WHY?!). RuiTomo had obvious multiple-writer syndrome that ruined some routes, but to me Comyu never suffered from that, so I find it odd that some many people dislike the earlier routes so much compared to Kagome. Of course, Kagome is just pure awesome, so obviously everyone will like her route (totally unbiased evaluation, I assure you), but what is it that people feel is so different between what came earlier and Kagome?

yashasupercow reacted to Tay in A few words on where we're going
    Hey everybody,

Full disclosure: I'm still kind of in crisis mode (I've got a personal and family emergency going on), so I won't have time to proof-read or content-screen a second draft of this. Hopefully it comes across clear enough. Purpose of this thread: As I've reviewed recent threads and PMs it became clear to me that I need to speak a little to forum/community changes and direction. I've been accused of being "unreliable", "slow", "conceited", and even "Hitleresque". I choose to laugh those off and keep moving forward.

    "Cleaning House"
Many of you have expressed frustration that the site isn't moving forward. I've repeatedly clarified that the meta-level direction of the website will be addressed starting in September.  We need a better organization to tackle the future, and from now until mid-September, my objective is to restructure the site ("clean house", if you will).

What do I mean by cleaning house?
More changes to the organization of the forums Releasing with gratitude many moderators The establishment of a new "board" moderator program open to anybody who wants to help and meets certain requirements A new system for choosing global moderators (meaning there will be a difference between board and global mods) Back-end stability changes A lot of changes to the front site (for which we do have several capable coders, and which are only held up now by host-side processes)
The "cleaning house" period will be slower until ~ August 21. My personal emergencies and school responsibilities require this timetable. The "hot zone" of changes will run from August 21 to whenever we finish in September, and will encompass the majority of the changes.

    "Burden of Leadership"
So let's be frank: there's too much on my plate. I'm not talking about my mental health, I'm speaking from an organizational angle. People are right to criticize me for being slow in enacting change or rolling out programs -- it's a consequence of my real life responsibilities. I ask that the community be patient -- I didn't ask to be left in a lurch by the departure of my co-admin. I didn't ask for similar departures of previous co-admins. Every time I've sought a partner, I've been left behind with twice the work.

So. You should be glad to know that as part of "cleaning house" I'll be restructuring the leadership. I'm not going to give out details right now, but they'll be coming within the next 6 weeks. The fundamental principle of the new leadership structure will be codifying a Fuwanovel charter which will guide the future of the site and give it direction long after I've left

    Retirement?
There's been some bizarre PM conversations screencapped and sent to me. Here's some clarification:

I am working towards retirement from the site. As I recently commented to sanah: my end-game at Fuwanovel is knowing that the community has a self-image and internal structure strong enough to carry it into the future. I am not going to abandon the community before I achieve those goals. As we get closer to that goal, maybe I'll speak more to why I'd retire and what projects I'm going to start working on, but those conversations are not applicable at the moment. I haven't set a specific timetable for this process. I'll be here for as long as it takes.

    Meta-Direction: Torrents
In late 2012 Fuwanovel had two slogans "Visual Novel Repo" and "Make Visual Novels Popular in the West". I think these slogans illustrate well the division in the community (still) between a focus on fan-sharing culture and support of visual novels' development in the West. I plan on angling the community down the second path.

I personally have significant ethical and logistical qualms with fan sharing culture. I acknowledge, however, that providing game torrents is part of Fuwanovel's DNA. I'm not going to change that. I will, however, continue to enforce the rule that we developed very early on to not host licensed games: all torrents for licensed games hosted on the front site will be taken down in September.

Many people have asked if I intend to move Fuwanovel into a "torrent-less" future. The answer: no. It's too ingrained in the community zeitgeist and history. Future community leaders will need to determine their threshold of cognitive dissonance and feel comfortable offering pre-patched, non-licensed games.

Hm.... Did I forget anything? Feel free to comment or ask questions below.

Here's what I want you to take away from this post: changes are coming. Logistical changes to reorganize the forums/community will be made in a "cleaning house" period which runs from now until it's all done sometime in September. My schedule requires that I roll out changes more slowly from now until August 21, and after the 21st the changes will be rolled out quickly and efficiently. Please be patient during this process: I know that this pace may be frustrating to some, but it's necessary for planning, proper execution, and my own RL schedule.

    Oh for the love of...

Who the hell am I kidding? You don't leave Fuwanovel. For all that is good in this world, you can't leave Fuwanovel. Once you're stuck here you're stuck in a pit of molasses; a fly on a spider's web (cut me slack on that analogy, it wasn't easy). Try as I might, I can't walk away from this website. My trigger finger is itching to fire off some new projects I have sitting in the wings, and who the hell is going to showcase those projects with all the newbies joining the site and roaming the land? There are so many people I enjoy working with on this site that I would feel awful if I left. Still, quietly coming back is just not like me; I've always been about grand presentations I guess. I woke up in the middle of the night sweating for crying out loud to type this message because I felt there was something missing in my life, and I realize now that no matter how much negativity affects us at times, at the end of the day we are the same people. This place will always be a home to me with the same positive energy I know and love. That sounds pathetic, I know, but it's the truth folks. I've said it already, and I'll say it again:

We are a family. We are one messed up family mind you who sometimes want to rip each other's faces off, but you're damn right we are a family.

With that being said, let me start by saying a few words regarding the mess surrounding my desire to leave Fuwanovel. It's a simple step-by-step process you see, one that I hope will shed light on a few things:

Step 1 - I messed up, and trolls got to me personally.
    There is no step 2.

And that's it. I am extremely thankful for everyone that went out of their own way to encourage me to keep at it and assist me in some personal matters. I am also grateful to those who are continuing to do so.

Done. No more on that. Now, while I would love to spam this thread with all of the ideas I have in store and jump right back into the swing of things, there are a few loose ends I need to take care of beforehand. Dealing with those in the next day or so will come next. Still, I can give you something, and in that regard, I need the community's help, so please read on!

    Ren's Project Mascots

I have decided to elect 2 new mascots to represent my projects on the Fuwanovel site and beyond (YouTube, Mixcloud, etc.). While most people use original characters for this kind of work, I wanted to choose characters that I think represent the idea behind my project development quite well. I originally got this idea when thinking of the famous Japanese blogger Danny Choo, who uses his own original character, Mirai Suenaga, as his iconic representation. As a fun fact, did you know she has her own airline service, as well as the fame of being Japan's official mascot for tourism in 2013? In addition, she is the same girl featured in Yuzusoft's Dracu-riot! background images and posters. Still, while I never expect to be as popular as him, I do think having some sort of theme to my projects will help establish a "personality" for what I do around the internet. These candidates (as some of you may have been aware of beforehand) are the following individuals:

    Hatsune Miku

    and

    Jakuzure Nonon

The reason I chose these 2 girl's to be mascots for all the projects I do is because I believe they represent how I view things when it comes to making projects. Miku is a producer, a developer, and a music creator who sort of represents how I myself am a  creator of projects (to a much lesser extent). Nonon is a performer (marching bands anyone?), so I thought what better person to use than her to showcase how I like to "put on a show" for the community. Plus, I am madly in love with her heh. Now, before you say to yourself how I have totally gone off the deep end, at least here me out.

    I need artists!

I will of course be willing to pay you for the time you spend in doing this little project for me, but in short, I need good artists who are able to draw these characters effectively. I would like to have these girl's be meshed into single pieces of artwork (aka together), as well as drawn with unique flair and costumes/poses for my projects. If you are at all interested in helping me out in this endeavor, please, please, please PM me as I would A. love to see what you can do, and B. love your help. If you have any questions, let me know as well. Thanks guys!

And with that, I end this post. Thank you again everyone, and I hope you can welcome me back one last time.

It's fake, 3 days don't have 300 hours in it. This VN was released on 07-09 and this "review" was made on 07-10, 3 X 24 = 72 true as we don't see time of the day of review it could be closer to 4 days but still 4 X 24 = 96 where did he found the rest 233 hours. and 3000 hours, there's not that many hours since date of release till now, 21 x 24 = 504, could be 22 x 24 = 528, still nowhere near 3000.
