  1. I mean, he is a 14-year-old teenager. As a former teacher, I assure you that he is way less idiotic than some real kids can be (Not all of them, of course, but there is always "the one") As of the thread, I'm happy to say that after almost one year reading it, I... dropped White Album 2. I really don't have too much to say about this one. It is great in everything that it does, but I found two issues: it is too long, to the point that I was loosing interest because I knew that I'd have to read X more hours just to finish the "cheating route". The second issue is also related to its lenght. I almost didn't play any VNs the whole year. 2022 was basically the year that I finished Little Busters for the second time, started reading WA2 and that's it. As soon as I decided a few weeks ago to drop WA2, I was able to play AI: Somnium Files 2 in just a few days, half of Summer Pockets: Reflection Blue and 70% of 13 Sentinels' story. Again, I love WA2, its twists, its setting, it as a whole, but I felt that I needed to move on, and probably I'll never complete it, and I'm fine with it.
  2. I think Swan Song could be technically considered post-apocalyptic.
  3. The biggest request I did this year was try localizing games to the Nintendo Switch. There are lots of potential titles that are left untranslated or unavailable that should be on a console that is perfec to read VNs. Imagine if someday MG decides to translate the switch's version of Musicus with all its new content available, it would be perfect. I really hope they at least try the Nintendo Switch instead of simply avoid it. As for suggestions, I only put Trianthology [maybe this time, finally?] because pretty much all games that I plan to read in the near future are already translated or on the way.
  4. Brazil only has a handful fan-translated VNs and... Digimon Survive, I guess
  5. This video is great! I always see people worried that the translation is taking forever, but I never tried to see what it is about. Now I`m very interested to play it!
  6. This is what I always think when I see some people here and on Reddit playing thousands of VNs in a month. For instance, it was january or february when I started playing White Album 2 and I still haven't finished it . I'm still stuck on Coda because I don't want to spend more time in this game since my backlog is already huge. But basically, I don't have too much time to play VNs and I end up playing the same one for months. I wish I had an easier way to do so, but as for right now, the are just a side activity that I do when I'm 100% free.
  7. wow, I've never posted here? Easy. I started playing VNs because I watched the Umineko anime and wanted to know what happened next [the anime is incomplete]. I tried a lot to download it and play, but didn't know how. A few months later I decided to try again and got it to work. Right after Umi, I started Rewrite and the rest is history
  8. Nice to have the option, specially considering regional pricing as buying in dollars is way too expensive for me.
  9. and it's just released O: I'm definitely buying it
  10. Frankly, there should be a whole list of ebi-hime VNs with links so everyone gets to read them. They are simply perfect. Besides the two already mentioned, I'd suggest adding Sweetest Monster, a very short VN with great art and a plot twist that rivals the best mystery novels out there, at least in my humble opinion :3 https://vndb.org/v20501 https://store.steampowered.com/app/585890/Sweetest_Monster/?curator_clanid=33024327 Heart of the Woods is amazing! I loved the characters, the art style and the story in general. Iirc there was a voice patch released after I read it, so it may be even better now. It's also good to have some LGBTQIA+ representation in the list!
  11. The only anime I'm watching is Akuyaku Reijou nano de Last Boss wo Kattemimashita, or I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss, which I firstly started because it sounded too similar to Hamefura and I wanted to see "how much did they copy" the latter. Turns out they are completely different in tone and story and I was not only surprised but very interested in this new anime.
  12. I'm very interested in playing this one, but I'll wait until I finish some other priority VNs first. Sadly White Album 2 took most of my reading-year [and it's still not over]. One question: do I >need< to play the uncensored version? I saw that there is an all ages version, which I prefer, but only if the +18 content is not plot-relevant.
  13. AAA This is great! I've been waiting for this game for a long time. It's great having more and more BL vns translated
  14. And why? I am a person who rarely reads or watches the same stuff twice or more, with a restricted few exceptions. As we all know by now, reading VNs takes a lot of time, patience, and our backlogs are constantly getting bigger as months pass and we get a ton of new releases - even more if you read Japanese-only VNs. Then, we have those special games that speak to our hearts months after their first playthrough and we decide to give it another try, maybe just to read our fave hero/in route or to have a stress-free time with something that we already know we love. In my case, there are only three VNs that I fully reread, one that I'm currently rereading alongside White Album 2 and one that I reread just the first hours because I have previously dropped that VN [which after finishing it I got to know that it was a huge mistake what I did before]. So here is my list: Umineko no Naku Koro ni - For those who know me from before and from the many request threads we got back in the day, Umineko is my favorite VN of all time. My final project for college was about the story, where I analyzed the concepts of truth [portuguese only, sadly]. I decided to read it a second time because I already knew the culprit, mas never got to understand how they did the crimes. Reading Umineko again was an opportunity to appreciate the game without the "magic" lens that blinded me the first time around. I recommend people to read it again too, but only years after the first run, so the experience still feels fresh. Little Busters: This one is a curious one. I decided to replay it on the Switch because I've never read the 3 final routes [the Ecstasy-exclusive], so I got the game and read it from start to finish.... except when I got into the first new route, I hated it! It didn't feel fun reading the new content, so I decided to skip them altogether a second time. Still, the main story is great and I had a lot of laughs and reexperienced a lot of the story, since I had forgotten a lot. Kindred Spirits on the Roof - I simply loved the game, but I read it in a time when I was studying a LOT and could not fully focus on the VN. So I simply skimmed through the game and that was it. So a few years ago I decided to start it all over again and I must say it was 100% worth it. All characters are fun to follow, the romance is really well done and let's be frank: listening to Rita singing AND voice act is a gift from the gods. Sea Bed - If you search for Sea Bed here in the forums, you'll find me bashing the game A LOT. I hated it the first time I tried, to the point that I dropped it even before the third chapter. I didn't like the exhagerated slice of life and simply wanted to get deep into the mystery that, at the time, a lot of people were praising. Then it was released on the Switch and I was going back to read after a year when I didn't read anything at all, even books or manga. So I decided to give it another shot, because I mean, maybe now, with more maturity, I would be able to feel the story. MAN, it was the best decision ever! The story is great, the pacing is purposefully slow in the beginning, but as we get close to the end more and more stuff is revealed and if you don't pay attention, you can miss a lot of nice twists. Even the slice of life scenes were super relevant when I found out the truth behind the story. So if you ever drop a VN - or even Sea Bed -, give it another shot a few years later, because your tastes may have changed and you'll have a blast like I did. Summer Pockets - The one I'm currently reading because we now finally have a translation for the Reflection Blue content. I don't have much to say yet because I'm still in the beginning of the first route [going with Kamome right now], but I may update here after I get into the RB exclusive content. I simply love the atmosphere and writing of this game, and thanks to its art style and fun cast of characters, it's become a easy Key masterpiece. If you ever feel on the fence about reading SP, please, do yourself a favor! You won't regret it! Sooooo, what about you? Which VNs have you read more than once and why? Do you have a similar story to one of my list?
  15. I'm lurking, I'm lurking! I will be participating more in the next few days, I promise Thank you and all the people involved in making the forums alive again
  16. You can always buy the game on Steam
  17. I tried it twice plus one try at the anime. I gave up all three times. It was sad
  18. Do you need to >see< it happening? Because in White Album 2, although not explicit at all, it is heavily implied that the hero's best friend is very popular with women.
  19. I don't really know, but it seems very similar to something Little Busters would have
  20. Does this series have a plot? I mean, a good plot, or is it something akin to a moege with some side story?
  21. Man, I have to say that White Album is being great so far! I'm still in the beginning of the Introductory Chapter [which was also covered in the anime version] but I'm already hooked. I love Little Busters, but it is a VN that at the time I first read it I could not fully appreciate, not because I didn't like it, but because I didn't understand it. Since I still have the Ex routes to read blind, I decided it would be nice to read everything again knowing about the true nature of the story so I can enjoy the hints and nuances in the characters' routes. My backlog is also packed with many VNs and books to read, but I decided to devote only one hour per day to read LB while I do other readings at the same time.
  22. Finished Seabed two days ago and since then I'm sad because it ended but I'm also enjoying White Album 2! Also started to reread Little Busters!
